The medical community is divided over a November ballot measure that would make Massachusetts only the second state with such staffing requirements.
Voters this fall could make Massachusetts only the second state in the country to limit the number of patients that hospital nurses can help at one time.
Question 1 would create legal ratios based on the type of patients that nurses are dealing with. Nurses aiding women during birth and up to two hours after, for instance, would be limited to one patient. If they're working with children, they could see four patients at once. In the psychiatric ward, nurses could help up to five patients.
While nurses unions and progressive political groups back the ballot measure, most medical groups -- including the Massachusetts chapter of the American Nurses Association and the state's Health and Hospital Association -- oppose it.

How Are Federal Judges Selected?
The term federal judge includes Supreme Court justices, court of appeals judges, and district court judges. These judges make up the federal court system, which litigates all U.S. federal charges, upholding the rights and liberties contained within the Constitution. The selection process for these judges is laid out in Article II of the U.S. Constitution, while their powers can be found in Article III. (For this reason, federal judges are also called Article III judges.)
Since the passage of the Judiciary Act of 1789, the federal judicial system has maintained 12 district circuits, each with its own court of appeals, regional district courts, and bankruptcy courts.
Some judges are referred to as "federal judges", but are part of a separate category. The selection process for Magistrate and bankruptcy judges is separate from Supreme Court justices, court of appeals judges, and district court judges. A list of their powers and their selection process can be found in Article I.

KAVANAUGH ACCUSER'S LAWYER IS VICE CHAIR OF SOROS FUNDED ORG OPPOSING KAVANAUGH
That partisan hit job? It's absolutely a partisan hit job.
Kavanaugh's accuser is being represented by Debra Katz, a Washington D.C. lawyer and the vice chair of the board of the Project On Government Oversight.
POGO co-signed a letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein and Senator Grassley along with a variety of lefty groups demanding Kavanaugh records. This was the obstruction tactic of choice of the left for trying to secure the Court seat before they fastened on to this latest smear.
Where does PGO gets its funding?

Concealed Carry Permits Surge to 18 Million, Include Many Democrats
The United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) reports that the number of concealed carry permits in America has now reached 18 million and includes many Democrats.
The Washington Examiner quotes USCCA president Tim Schmidt explaining that the surge in permits is not tied to one political party: “A lot of new people are getting permits. Half of them align themselves with the Democrats. So this whole concept of wanting to defend yourself doesn’t go straight down Republican or conservative lines. I think everyone wants to defend themselves. We have all sorts of folks who say they are Democrats but want to carry a gun.”
The jump to 18 million permits represents over a 60 percent increase in permits since 2014:

Atlanta man convicted after his rape victim spotted him six years later
A man has been sentenced to life in prison for rape after his victim happened to recognize him at a train station six years later.
Antonio White, 54, was convicted on Friday of raping the woman in Atlanta, Georgia, back in 2007.
Six years after the attack occurred, authorities said White was waiting for a train at a MARTA subway station in Atlanta when his victim spotted him.
'She was overcome by the moment and began to yell out that he was the man who had raped her six years earlier,' the Fulton County district attorney's office said.
Hearing her cries for help, MARTA police ended up arresting White and turned him over to Atlanta police.

Trump Wants Woman Accusing Kavanaugh To Testify
Joining the chorus of opinions over the biggest drama in Washington, President Trump said he wants to hear from the woman who accuses Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, saying it would be "unfortunate" if she doesn’t testify before a Senate committee.
"If she doesn’t show up, that would be unfortunate," Trump told reporters Wednesday as he left the White House to view hurricane damage in North Carolina. "If she shows up and makes a credible showing, that would be very interesting."

Carlson: 'If Republicans Allow Kavanaugh's Nomination to Be Derailed Over an Unprovable Allegation He Can't Rebut, It's Over'
Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson warned Republicans against allowing Supreme Court associate justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to be derailed based on what he deemed “unprovable allegations.”
Carlson said once it becomes impossible for Republicans to get a justice on the high court, there will be less incentive for Republican voters to vote Republican.
“The larger lesson of this moment and actually the past two years is that the left will not abide losing power, even temporarily,” Carlson said. “For liberals, political power is personal power, and without it, they are exposed and terrified. Some become vicious. If you have lost friends, since Trump got elected or have been yelled at over dinner or on an airplane, you know exactly what we are talking about. Liberals believe they were meant to run this country, our government and our culture. They have no intention of sharing control with you. If they are not in charge, they will burn it down, which is what they are doing now.”

rassley: Monday's Kavanaugh Hearing May Be Canceled if Accuser Doesn't Testify
Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said Tuesday that the committee’s hearing on Monday with Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who now accuses Kavanaugh of sexual assault in high school, may be canceled if Ford does not testify.
Grassley (R-IA) said during a hearing with radio host Hugh Hewitt that his staff has continued to reach out to Ford over the last 36 hours but is still waiting for a response to find out if she will testify publicly regarding her sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
Grassley said, “We have reached out to her in the last 36 hours three or four times by email, and we have not heard from them, so it kind of raises the question do they want to come to the public hearing or not.”

Pat Buchanan Laments "The Late Hit" On Judge Kavanaugh
Upon the memory and truthfulness of Christine Blasey Ford hangs the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh, his reputation and possibly his career on the nation’s second-highest court.
And much more. If Kavanaugh is voted down or forced to withdraw, the Republican Party and conservative movement could lose their last best hope for recapturing the high court for constitutionalism.
No new nominee could be vetted and approved in six weeks. And the November election could bring in a Democratic Senate, an insuperable obstacle to the elevation of a new strict constructionist like Kavanaugh.
The stakes are thus historic and huge.

Laura Ingraham: I've known Kavanaugh for 25 years -- If this can happen to him, I tremble for our country
It’s 1991, all over again.
By now, most of you are familiar with the eleventh hour charges against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Christine Blasey Ford, a Palo Alto research psychologist is claiming that when she was 15 and Kavanaugh was 17, he made unwanted advances to her at a boozy house party. She claims that he tried to force himself upon her.
Kavanaugh released a statement today emphatically denying the charges for a second time, saying "This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes -- to her or to anyone." But the 10 Democrats on the judiciary committee were unanimous in their calls to delay Kavanaugh's scheduled Thursday vote. And some weak-kneed Republicans, no shock there, like Flake and Corker, joined those calls.
But there are holes in Ms. Ford's version of events. The 2012 notes from her psychotherapist mentioned four men involved in the assault on Ford.
Now, the accuser says it was only two men. Nowhere does Kavanaugh's name appear in those notes. And both Kavanaugh and the only other witness deny that the event ever occurred.
Ford claims that she decided to come forward at this moment out of "civic responsibility." But the timing, suffice it to say, is curious. Senator Dianne Feinstein had a letter from Ford detailing these allegations back in July. But she chose not to share it with the FBI or to raise it in 32 hours of public hearings, and of course, one hour of a private meeting with Kavanaugh. So why?
Well, this all has the whiff of a political smear masquerading as a sexual assault allegation, one that 36 years later, let's face it, cannot either be proven or disproven. It is impossible to prove a negative and questioning Ms. Ford and Brett Kavanaugh on this matter, it is unlikely to reveal anything new.

Fractured Federalism
Proposals to turn national programs over to the states are abound in Washington. The failure of federal programs over the past 60 years demonstrates that centralized solutions to local problems are ineffective. Federalism—the constitutional distribution of power between the states and national government— is once again on the agenda.
Lessons regarding centralization have been learned the hard way. For example, since the 1960s the national government has spent $5 trillion on social welfare programs for such efforts as the “War on Poverty.” The result is a poverty rate of 15.1 percent—higher than the 14.7 percent rate we had before the Great Society. The nation cannot afford anymore trillion-dollar lessons. As an alternative, many leaders around the country are re-examining the role of the states.
But is the rhetoric of the politicians sincere? Is there a genuine movement in Washington toward federal decentralization?
Though national politicians often claim they seek to restore power to the states, a closer look at their proposals indicates otherwise. Consider Republican initiatives for welfare reform and environmental deregulation. Rather than abolishing burdensome federal directives like the Clean Water Act or fundamentally altering welfare programs, the initiatives simply direct the states to craft new methods for complying with those dictates. Proposals for block grants for school lunch programs mandate how states will use 80 percent of the funds. This is clearly not meaningful change.
Rather than block grants, the states require a return of their sovereignty. Local citizens have a greater stake in the purity of their water and relief of their indigent than any outsider. Moreover, their familiarity with the resources available and community priorities is unparalleled.

Longtime Female Friend Who Signed Letter Supporting Kavanaugh Speaks Out
A peer and friend who knew Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as a high school student is vouching for his character amid accusations from a woman that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were teens.
“I certainly have some strong feelings about the timing of this, but that is not going to do anybody any good,” Missy Carr, a 1985 graduate of Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, told The Daily Signal in a phone interview Monday.
“What I would say is I have known Brett since I was maybe 16, and I still know him today,” Carr, 51, said. “I knew him in all kinds of social situations and what is being described—I also, by the way, know Mark Judge, obviously—and the scenario that is being described is not one that I could ever put either one of those guys in, even under the influence of alcohol or any of that.”
Carr is one of 65 women who knew Kavanaugh when he attended the all-boys Georgetown Preparatory School and signed a letter published Sept. 14 that vouches for the character of the Supreme Court nominee.
Kavanaugh’s accuser said Mark Judge, a classmate of Kavanaugh’s, was present during the alleged assault at a house party attended by a small group of teens.
Christine Blasey Ford, now a 51-year-old research psychologist in Northern California, told The Washington Post that Kavanaugh held her down, groped her, and tried to remove her clothes in a bedroom during a summer party in the early 1980s in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Ford said both males were drunk at the time.

China has a 'chilling' system to control everyone
China's chilling dictatorship is moving quickly to introduce social scorecards, in which all citizens will be monitored 24/7 and ranked on their behavior.
The Communist Party’s plan is for every one of its 1.4 billion citizens to be at the whim of a dystopian social credit system, and it’s on track to be fully operational by the year 2020.
An active pilot program has already seen millions of people each assigned a score out of 800 and either reap its benefits or suffer its consequences — depending on which end of the scale they sit.
Under the social credit scheme, points are lost and gained based on readings from a sophisticated network of 200 million surveillance cameras — a figure set to triple in 18 months.
The program has been enabled by rapid advances in facial recognition, body scanning and geo-tracking.

Border Patrol Inundated with Group of nearly 200 Family Units and Unaccompanied Children in the Rio Grande Valley
GRANJENO, Texas – Early this morning, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the McAllen station encountered 170 illegal aliens comprised of family units and unaccompanied children.
Just after midnight, the group of 170 smuggled illegal aliens sought the first Border Patrol agents they could find to turn themselves in. The group required additional agents to respond and assist, leaving other areas of the river area vulnerable.
As agents prepared the group for transport, the criminal organizations took advantage of the limited resources and simultaneously attempted to smuggle multiple other groups whom actively attempted to evade apprehension.
Agents requested assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety in the areas near Hidalgo and Mission, Texas, to manage the flow.
Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
The Rio Grande Valley Sector currently has multiple campaigns focused on rescues and danger awareness, such as “Operation Big Rig” and “No Se Arriesgue” to combat smuggling and ultimately save lives. Call 911 to report suspicious activity; “They’re humans, not cargo!”
Karen Pence: Belden's drug treatment program 'courageous'
RICHMOND, Ind. – Second lady of the United States Karen Pence lauded a Richmond company's new opioid addiction treatment initiative during a Tuesday visit to its wire and cable manufacturing facility on the city's northwest side.
Pence, joined by senior members of President Donald Trump's administration — including special counselor Kellyanne Conway, Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams and Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta — learned about Belden's new pilot program, launched earlier this year, for employees and new hires struggling with addiction.
Belden introduced the Pathways program in February as an alternative to typical immediate-termination procedures after failed drug screenings by existing employees and new hires.
The company first began working on the pilot in September 2017 and coordinated with national and local agencies, including Ivy Tech, Manpower, Meridian Health and Centerstone to form a task force to find a viable solution.
The resulting program includes separate paths for high-risk and low-risk workers, with requirements and safety precautions taken into account for participants in each group. There are separate pathways for low-risk and high-risk workers, and each employee is given a specific, highly-structured program to follow in order to get back to work.
Belden pays all fees associated with the program, with the help of the employee's insurance, shelling out an average of $5,000 for each employee enrolled. The company has not yet sought incentives or abatements for the program through local or state economic agencies.

Raising Kids With Religion Or Spirituality May Protect Their Mental Health: Study
A new study from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health finds that kids and teens who are raised with religious or spiritual practices tend to have better health and mental health as they age. But not to worry if you’re not a service-attender. The research, published last week in the American Journal of Epidemiology, finds that people who prayed or meditated on their own time also reaped similar benefits, including lower risk of substance abuse and depression later on.
The team looked at data from 5,000 people taking part in the long-term Nurses' Health Study II and its next generation Growing Up Today Study (GUTS). They were interested in whether the frequency with which a child/teen attended religious services with their parents or prayed/meditated on their own was correlated with their health and mental health as they grew into their 20s. The young people were followed for anywhere from eight to 14 years.
It turned out that those who attended religious services at least once a week as children or teens were about 18% more likely to report being happier in their 20s than those who never attended services. They were also almost 30% more likely to do volunteer work and 33% less likely to use drugs in their 20s as well.

Biden Gave A Lengthy Endorsement Of Kavanaugh Accuser Until One Question Caused Him To Walk Away
Former Vice President Joe Biden emphatically supported Kavanaugh accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford Monday night, faltering only when a reporter asked him about the credibility of a claim made over 35 years ago.
“What I’m going to do is I’m not going to answer any more questions,” Biden said, deflecting a reporter’s question asking whether it was significant that the assault claim refers to an incident that allegedly occurred when Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was 17 years old.
“I’d be happy to talk about Ireland,” Biden added during his remarks to a group of reporters at Irish ambassador to the U.S. Dan Mulhall’s residence.
Biden delivered a glowing endorsement Monday night of women who come forward with accusations of assault. “For a woman to come forward in the glaring lights of focus, nationally, you’ve got to start off with the presumption that at least the essence of what she’s talking about is real, whether or not she forgets facts, whether or not it’s been made worse or better over time,” Biden said, adding that “[coming forward] is like jumping into a cauldron.”

Pediatrician: What You Should Know About a New Study on Transgender Suicide
A new study is out that examines the risk of suicide among transgender teens. The results confirm a long pattern of data: Transgender teens attempt suicide more frequently than adolescents generally.
Unfortunately, this data may be used to pressure parents to put their children through radical transition-affirming therapies.
This would be a serious mistake.
The new study assumes the unproven belief that all gender identities are equally healthy and fixed in all children and teens. This is an ideological premise touted by professional medical and psychiatric guilds, not scientific fact.
The study also offers no proof that these radical therapies—puberty-blocking drugs, double mastectomies for girls, and so on—will prevent adolescents from attempting suicide.
If anything, the findings of the survey reinforce the dire need for serious scientific research into the potential environmental causes of gender dysphoria and the risks—both physical and psychological—of medical transition.

Pat Buchanan On The "Unpardonable Heresy" Of Tucker Carlson
Our diversity is our greatest strength.
After playing clips of Democratic politicians reciting that truth of modern liberalism, Tucker Ca
Reaction to Carlson’s question, with some declaring him a racist for having raised it, suggests that what we are dealing with here is not a demonstrable truth but a creed not subject to debate.
Yet the question remains valid:
Where is the scientific, historic or empirical evidence that the greater the racial, ethnic, cultural and religious diversity of a nation, the stronger it becomes?
From recent decades, it seems more true to say the reverse: The more diverse a nation, the greater the danger of its disintegration.
Ethnic diversity, after all, tore apart our mighty Cold War rival, splintering the Soviet Union into 15 nations, three of which — Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia — have since split further along ethnic lines.
Russia had to fight two wars to hold onto Chechnya and prevent the diverse peoples of the North Caucasus from splitting off on ethnic grounds, as Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan had done.
Ethnic diversity then shattered Yugoslavia into seven separate nations.
And even as we proclaim diversity to be our greatest strength, nations everywhere are recoiling from it.
The rise of populism and nationalism across Europe is a reaction to the new diversity represented by the Arab, Asian and African millions who have lately come, and the tens of millions desperate to enter.

Visa Waiver Program Is Good for Poland, Great for US
Poland has been a crucial U.S. ally since the collapse of the Iron Curtain. One way for the U.S. to further strengthen that alliance, as well as improve U.S. security and economic vitality is the Visa Waiver Program.
Poland, whose president, Andrzej Duda, met with U.S. President Donald Trump Tuesday, is a prime candidate to be admitted to this program, which currently includes 38 other nations.
Citizens of a Visa Waiver Program country may travel to the U.S. for up to 90 days without a visa. This benefit is given to countries who participate in intelligence sharing about known or suspected terrorists, serious criminals, and lost and stolen passports, as well as other security measures. As a result, the U.S.’ ability to vet visitors has significantly improved.
Participating countries are also required to have a visa refusal rate of less than 3 percent, although previously the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security was able to allow a refusal rate of up to 10 percent. Visa Waiver Program countries also provide U.S. citizens with the ability to travel to their country without a visa. By increasing travel and tourism, there are also significant economic benefits.

Lewis Morris: Leftists Are Killing Sex and Gender
One of the greatest demonstrations of leftist arrogance is the continued attempt to rewrite the natural laws of biology to score political points. Over the last several years, we have seen leftist ideologues try not only to redefine the roles of men and women in American society, but also to redefine gender itself, and even create new genders along the way.
Unfortunately, this has gone from a sad social experiment to an even more terrifying reality with devastating consequences for our society.
Aided by a compliant media that consistently vilifies men at every turn and a college campus crowd that has made higher education downright hostile to young men, the Left is deconstructing what it means to be a man in the world today.
Whenever anyone discusses this persistent attack on masculinity in the public square, leftists will say that such talk only proves that masculinity is toxic. One “LGBTQ” group at Goldsmiths University in London suggested that people who oppose the homosexual agenda should be placed in Soviet-style gulags, where they could be compassionately “rehabilitated” just like they used to do in Stalinist Russia. Compassion? Did anyone clue these people in to what happened to homosexuals in those gulags? Apparently not.

Feds Spend $1 Million Training ‘Social Justice’ Math Teachers
The National Science Foundation is spending over $1 million to train two-dozen "social justice" math teachers in Philadelphia.
The Drexel University project will promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) high school curricula that are "steeped in the context of social justice."
The project, which began this summer, is recruiting 24 Drexel students earning a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, which they will train to teach in school districts in Philadelphia.
"The project will use recent scientific, mathematical, and educational knowledge to prepare and support the twenty-four pre-service teacher candidates with an emphasis on understanding the culture and life experiences of students in high-need schools," according to the grant for the study.
The stated goal of the study is to "promote social justice teaching."

Judicial Watch Sues for Records of Interviews with Justice Department Official Bruce Ohr
Judicial Watch has announced that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the Department of Justice for details of the 302 interviews the FBI conducted with Bruce Ohr, who was removed from his position as U.S. Associate Deputy Attorney General in December 2017. The interviews could be key to understanding how anti-Trump dossier author, British spy Christopher Steele’s information was transmitted to the FBI.
Judicial Watch sued after the Justice Department failed to respond to a FOIA request seeking Form 302s for a number of interviews with Ohr concerning his interactions with Steele. A Form 302 is used by FBI agents to summarize the interviews that they conduct and contains information from the notes taken during the interview.
In a related case seeking records of communications between Ohr, other DOJ officials and Steele or Fusion GPS, the DOJ told the court it has located 1650 responsive documents and wants six months to turn them over. A hearing in federal court will be held in that case on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

Soros-Backed Activists Slip Cash To Anti-Kavanaugh Protesters
Left-wing groups funded by George Soros and other major Democratic donors hand out cash to protesters arrested for disrupting Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings, the activists revealed Monday night.
A coalition of activist organizations including Women’s March, the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD) and Housing Works have scheduled the near-constant disruptions at the Kavanaugh hearings as part of an organized effort to derail the confirmation process in a series of meetings since he was first nominated.
The cash from the donor-funded groups goes toward the protesters’ post-and-forfeit payments — a small cash sum paid to resolve low-level misdemeanor crimes and avoid jail time.
Those are just some of the details representatives from the three groups revealed in a Monday night conference call planning their next two anti-Kavanaugh protests, one on Thursday and one next Monday.
The Daily Caller News Foundation received a tip with the dial-in code for Monday’s conference call and was present on the call in its entirety. One reporter, who asked questions, revealed his name during the introductions portion of the meeting.

Bitter Hillary Clinton Is Still Complaining About Losing To Trump
‘It’s Hard to ignore racial subtext of virtually everything Trump says.’
The piece, entitled ‘American Democracy Is in Crisis’ was published by The Atlantic this week, with the catchy subtitle ‘Our democratic institutions and traditions are under siege. We need to do everything we can to fight back.’
The opening sentence oozes bitterness, stating “It’s been nearly two years since Donald Trump won enough Electoral College votes to become president of the United States.”
Hillary still hasn’t gotten over her loss, still blames ‘the system’ and still hasn’t moved on.
“On the day after, in my concession speech, I said, ‘We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead.’ I hoped that my fears for our future were overblown. They were not.” Clinton writes.
Within the text, Clinton again labels Trump as an open racist, declaring “It’s hard to ignore the racial subtext of virtually everything Trump says.”
“Often, it’s not even subtext,” she adds, referring to Trump’s infamous statement that some immigrants coming to the US are from “shithole countries.”
“None of this is a mark of authenticity or a refreshing break from political correctness,” Clinton continues, adding “Hate speech isn’t ‘telling it like it is.’ It’s just hate.”

WSJ: The #MeToo Kavanaugh Ambush
The woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of a drunken assault when both were teenagers has now come forward publicly, and on Monday it caused Republicans to delay a confirmation vote and schedule another public hearing. Yet there is no way to confirm her story after 36 years, and to let it stop Mr. Kavanaugh’s confirmation would ratify what has all the earmarks of a calculated political ambush.
This is not to say Christine Blasey Ford isn’t sincere in what she remembers.
Mr. Kavanaugh denies all this “categorically and unequivocally,” and there is simply no way to prove it. The only witness to the event is Mr. Kavanaugh’s high school male friend, Mark Judge, who also says he recalls no such event. Ms. Ford concedes she told no one about it—not even a high school girl friend or family member—until 2012 when she told the story as part of couples therapy with her husband.
The vagaries of memory are well known, all the more so when they emerge in the cauldron of a therapy session to rescue a marriage. Experts know that human beings can come to believe firmly over the years that something happened when it never did or is based on partial truth. Mistaken identity is also possible.

High School Student “in His 20s” Arrested for Raping Teacher - Sweden
A female teacher was reportedly raped in a Swedish high school by student of at least 20 years of age, according to local media.
The incident occurred last Friday in a school located in Nässjö, after the teacher was “pushed” into a room on the school’s premises, according to Aftonbladet.
“I got information about it on Saturday morning,” said a school official. “We have had continuous contact with the person all weekend.”
The victim filed a report Monday and since then a number of investigative measures have been set in motion, including the student’s suspension.
However, the police report was short on facts beyond the perp’s age.

How Solar and Wind Mandates Tax the Poor and Middle Class
Liberals love to talk about helping the poor and the middle class, and they are obsessed with reducing income inequality. So why is it that across the country they are pushing one of the most regressive taxes in modern times?
I am talking about the fad "green" initiative in states such as California, Arizona and New Jersey that require local utilities to buy expensive renewable energy. These renewable energy standards require that utilities to buy expensive wind and solar power. They then pass these costs onto the poor and working class who get stuck paying the tab.
In Sacramento, California, the legislature is speeding ahead with one of the most absurd proposals of modern times by mandating 100 percent renewable energy by 2045. This would mean no coal, no natural gas and no nuclear power.
Meanwhile in Arizona, voters will decide on a ballot initiative funded by billionaire Tom Steyer that would increase renewable mandates to 50 percent over the next decade or so.
The goal of these initiatives is to shut down fossil fuel and nuclear energy production in America. These are industries that supply millions of jobs. We have more coal and natural gas than any other nation and liberals want to shut it all down. It is worth mentioning that today in America about 80 percent of our electric power comes from natural gas, coal and nuclear power.

Rubio Asks Whether Kerry Broke Federal Law by Meeting With Iranians
Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) has asked the Department of Justice to determine whether former Secretary of State John Kerry broke federal law by meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister to try to preserve the Iran nuclear deal.
Rubio wrote a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday requesting he determine if Kerry violated the Logan Act or the Foreign Agents Registration Act through his meetings with Javad Zarif, his chief negotiating partner in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, Fox News reports:
The Logan Act prohibits unauthorized personnel to negotiate with a foreign government in relation to any disputes with the U.S., whereas the Foreign Agents Registration Act is a statute that requires persons or companies acting on behalf of foreign governments, political parties or individuals to disclose details of their interactions.
Last week, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blasted his predecessor for "actively undermining" U.S. policy by holding meetings with Mohammad Javad Zarif since leaving office. Pompeo called it "unseemly and unprecedented" and "beyond inappropriate."
Kerry acknowledged last week he has undertaken rogue diplomacy without the approval of the Trump administration to encourage Iran to preserve the agreement with European countries. Kerry and other Obama administration officials believe the Iran deal, struck in 2015, was a landmark achievement.

Roseanne Says Her ‘Roseanne’ Character Will Be Killed by Opioid Overdose
Roseanne Barr, the former star of ABC’s hit sitcom, Roseanne, says the network intends to kill her character off via an opioid overdose ahead of the impending debut of the re-re-booted the hit ABC show.
“Oh yeah, they killed her,” Barr told Brandon Straka on his YouTube show Walk Away. “They have her die of an opioid overdose.”
The coming death knell comes after a season cliffhanger where Roseanne Connor, the family matriarch, was struggling with an addiction to painkillers.
Barr was fired from her hit sitcom after she tweeted out a political attack on former Obama adviser Valarie Jarrett that many people assumed was a “racist” attack on the half black and half Iranian former official.

Ellison’s Accuser: Dems Have ‘Smeared, Threatened, Isolated’ Me
Karen Monahan, who has accused former boyfriend Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) of domestic abuse, said that she has been “smeared, threatened, [and] isolated” by the Democratic party.
Since she came forward with allegations of domestic abuse by Ellison, the co-chair of the DNC, Monahan has faced an uphill battle. She rebuffed Ellison’s private plea for her silence but has been paying the price ever since.
A user on Twitter referenced a statement by former Hillary Clinton adviser Peter Daou admonishing people to believe Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford and posed a simple question to Monahan:
“Democrats say believe women, do they believe you….?”
“No, they don’t,” Monahan answered. “I’ve been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party,” she continued, regardless of her efforts. “I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different Dr. visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse.”

"Resist Everything": Socialist Within State Department Exposed In Veritas "Deep State" Sting
James O'Keefe and his undercover investigators have once again exposed extreme left-wing activists pursuing a progressive agenda within a position of power - this time infiltrating the State Department.
O'Keefe's team has previously released undercover videos revealing radical leftists at Twitter bragging about "shadow banning" conservatives, Democrat operatives paid by the Clinton campaign engaging in voter fraud, CNN employees admitting that the Trump-Russia story was a "fake news" ratings bonanza, and the "culture of anti-Trump bias" at the New York Times.
In their latest installment, Veritas met Stuart Karaffa - a State Department employee who is also a ranking member of the Metro DCDemocratic Socialists of America who is "engaged in radical socialist political activity on the taxpayer's dime," while actively advocating for "resistance to official government policies," according to Project Veritas.
Mr. Karaffa’s loyalties seem to be with DSA, not with his employer.
Karaffa told an undercover Project Veritas journalist that he performs DSA activism while at work for the State Department. He explained that he drafts DSA communications while on the job at State Department: -Project Veritas
"… I’m careful about it. I don’t leave a paper trail, like I leave emails, and like any press s**t that comes up I leave that until after 5:30. But as soon as 5:31 hits, got my like draft messages ready to send out," says Karaffa, who doesn't believe he'll get caught for pursuing his own agenda within the Department of State.
"Maybe someday I’ll go to board of elections jail, probably not," he said, adding: "I have nothing to lose. It’s impossible to fire federal employees." Karaffa says "nobody knows" about his activism - and that it's easy to circumvent State Department ethics disclosures because "… somebody just rubber stamps [the form] and it goes forward… I don’t know if [the ethics officer is] all there. He’s so checked out…"

FBI: Kavanaugh Allegation 'Does Not Involve Any Potential Federal Crime’
The Department of Justice (DOJ) said Monday that the FBI will not investigate the sexual misconduct allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
After refusing to participate in a phone call with Kavanaugh set up by Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Democrats on the Judiciary Committee called on the FBI to investigate high school-era allegations against Kavanaugh.
On Tuesday, Feinstein again called on the FBI to investigate the allegation of a local crime 36 years ago when Kavanaugh was 17 and still in high school.
The DOJ, however, told a reporter for the far-left Politico, “The allegation does not involve any potential federal crime.”
Furthermore, the Associated Press reports that in a statement, the DOJ said late Monday that “it’s not the job of the FBI to judge the significance or the credibility of an accusation.”
Nevertheless, Democrats continue to call for the FBI to investigate in the hopes it will put an indefinite hold on the vote for Kavanaugh’s nomination, which has already been postponed.

50 Days Away
Wow - we are only 50 days away from Election Day 2018! And, for some of you, early voting begins in three weeks!
Whether you are a candidate, campaign staffer, volunteer in a local organization, or just an independent concerned citizen, there are actions you can take now to help ensure integrity in your local elections.
Here’s what should be on your radar:
1) If you are part of a political campaign or organization, you should be finalizing your election integrity plans. This should include identifying locations in which volunteers are needed and recruiting and training to make sure all positions will be well covered. Coverage plans should also include early voting sites and pre and post-election activities (like reviewing mail-in ballots and assisting at centralized collection points).
2) Make a last big push for recruiting volunteers. We’ve found processes run best when there are at least three poll watchers per polling location.
3) Register your intent to participate, as per your local processes. Typically, this means individuals sign up with a party or candidate of their choice, then the party or candidate notifies local election officials, however, every state process is a little different.
Click here to find your state election information on True the Vote's website
Next week’s update will include details on True the Vote online poll watcher training - between now and then, drop us a note if you need us, and we’ll be quick to respond!
We’re all in this together, my friends. If elections aren’t truly fair, we aren’t truly free.
Onward!

Texas Declares ‘Final Victory’ in Voter ID Lawsuit
A United States District Court judge dismissed the lawsuit which challenged the Texas voter ID law, announced Attorney General Ken Paxton late Monday.
The 2017 Texas voter ID law (SB 5) cleared its final hurdle when the Fifth Circuit honored a request made last month by the opponents of the state’s voter ID law to dismiss any remaining claims since the matter was settled and there was nothing left to pursue in this case. This marked the end of seven years of litigation over the state’s attempts to enact a voter ID law.
“I’m proud of the successful fight my office waged to defend Texas’ voter ID law,” said Paxton in a prepared statement. “With this major legal victory, voter ID requirements remain in place going forward to prevent fraud and ensure that election results accurately reflect the will of Texas voters.”

Kim Jong-un will visit South Korea, he said after meeting with the South's president. It would be the first such trip by a North Korean leader.
Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader, will visit South Korea “in the near future,” he said on Wednesday after meeting with the South’s president, Moon Jae-in.
At a joint news conference with Mr. Kim in North Korea, Mr. Moon said he expected Mr. Kim to visit Seoul, the South’s capital, before the end of the year. Such a trip would be the first by any North Korean leader, another dramatic moment in the flurry of diplomacy around the North’s nuclear weapons program in recent months.

'Lawn mower parents' are the new 'helicopter moms'
Move over, helicopter parents and tiger moms — a whole new breed of terrifying moms and dads has arrived, just in time for the new school year: the "lawn mower parent."
In recent weeks, the so-called phenomenon of such parents has gone viral on Facebook after an anonymous middle school teacher shared the tale of a supposed run-in with a real-life “lawn mower dad” to educator blog WeAreTeachers.
In the post titled "Lawnmower Parents Are the New Helicopter Parents & We Are Not Here for It,” which has since received 2,300 likes and 12,000 shares on the social platform, the unnamed teacher recalls being summoned to the school's office to pick up something a parent dropped off for a student.
Believing it would be an essential item, like “an inhaler or money for dinner,” the teacher was shocked to find that a father went out of his way to deliver an insulated water bottle for his daughter...

‘Fort Trump’: Polish President Pledges US Military Base In Poland Named After Trump
President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda visited the White House Tuesday and made a declaration to build “Fort Trump” in Poland.
During a joint press conference, President Duda implored President Trump to build a permanent military base in Poland and name it “Fort Trump.” Through a translator, Duda critiqued increased Russian military exercises and increased Russian military attacks in the region.
“We want to buy more equipment. We also want to cooperate in the area of development as regards to military technology,” Duda said. “I’m convinced this [partnership] between Poland and the United States will go smoothly.”
Duda said that he was “smiling” when Trump floated the idea of a permanent U.S. military base in Poland. “I said I would very much like for us to set up a permanent American base in Poland, which we would call ‘Fort Trump,’ and I firmly believe this is possible.”

Bike Week Tee Shirt Heads To White House
One of the many people that visited Trader Lee's during Bike Week happens to have a meeting with President Trump this week and immediately offered to deliver one of these tee shirts to President Trump. How cool is that!
What many of you are not aware of is the fact that President Trump did in fact have plans to visit Ocean City during Bike Week. Once they closed the Inlet parking lot and moved everything indoors at the Convention Center, those plans came to a halt. I had been asked to not expose his visit directly on this Site for security purposes, hence my post mentioning the purchase of a marker for an autograph.
Many were told at Trader Lee's during Bike Week that President Trump did in fact have plans to visit and went on to say he still wants to come in the near future. It made perfect sense at the time of the event should 300,000 to 500,000 bikers be in town. We missed a great opportunity but mother nature clearly had other plans.
Nevertheless, it's a great pleasure knowing this tee shirt will end up in the hands of this incredible President. I should add, 1,900 TRUMP 2020 Flags were dispersed on the first day of Bike Week and the balance of 100 flags went out the following morning. What a great week.
If you are interested in purchasing one of these tee shirts we have a limited supply left. They are $20.00 each including shipping. Call 410-430-5349.

Residents back flood-control plan to tear down Ellicott City buildings
Sixty-six people testified during a marathon Howard County Council legislative hearing Monday night on plans to mitigate flooding in historic Ellicott City.
The council is considering three bills needed for a five-year flood control plan that would raze 19 buildings to expand a channel for the Tiber River and replace them with open space.
The $50 million plan to demolish the structures requires approval from the county’s Historic Preservation Commission, a majority vote by the council and approval from the county executive.
The county has been studying ways to prevent or reduce flooding in the historic mill town for years, including stormwater retention systems and pipes, and some leaders had been reluctant to discuss tearing down buildings until a fast-moving Memorial Day weekend flood caused millions of dollars in damage to shops, roads and utilities.
During the six-hour hearing, six people who endured the May 27 flood shared harrowing tales of survival, and urged approval of the bills.

To Be 8 again!
A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off, he asked what she'd like to have for her birthday.
'I'd like to be eight again', she replied, still looking in the mirror.
On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Coco Pops, and then took her to Adventure World theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was.
Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake.
Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&M's. What a fabulous adventure!
Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted.
He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, 'Well Dear, what was it like being eight again'?
Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed.
'I meant my dress size, you f#**%g! retard!!!!'
The moral of the story: Even when a man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong.
