Sweden In Crisis: Leading PM Candidate Vows Migration Reforms As Nationalism Surges

After reeling from the sight of approximately 100 burning cars, frequent shootings, grenade attacks and sexual assaults, populism is rising in Sweden - as evidenced by the anti-immigration right-wing Sweden Democrats party surging in polls leading up to next month's September 9 elections. Both the center-left and center-right parties have ruled out working with the Sweden Democrats, a party with neo-Nazi roots that wants to freeze immigration and to hold a referendum on Sweden’s membership of the European Union. That said, the moderate parties may be forced to adopt SD measures in order to assuage public calls for tougher policies on crime and immigration.

In response, the head of the center-right Moderate party, Ulf Kristersson, is now on the offensive when it comes to crime and migrants - telling the Financial Times that Swedes have lost trust in the government, and that the country is "paying the price for 20 years of "very unsuccessful integration policies" by both left and rightwing governments."

Crooked Hillary, Failed 2016 Candidate, to Host Three DNC Fundraisers

Failed 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton, dubbed “Crooked Hillary” by President Donald Trump, will return to the center of political action in the fall, wrapping herself around Democrat efforts to retake the majority in the House of Representatives.

Clinton, per CNN, will host three Democratic National Committee (DNC) fundraisers in the fall–in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York.

CNN’s Dan Merica, a former embed with the Clinton campaign in 2016, wrote on Monday:

The fundraisers, despite likely being closed to the press, will amount to the most public political step Clinton has taken since ending her tour promoting her 2017 memoir, ‘What Happened,’ about the 2016 presidential election. While she has remained active on Twitter and her political organization has donated to a host of Democratic House candidates, she has yet to headline a public event for a 2018 candidate.

Clinton’s decision to directly fundraise for the DNC–the national party organization that supports all Democrats for public office–and the DNC’s decision to accept her fundraising is curious at best since her highly negative public image is now sure to drag Democrats down.

Florida Welfare Agency Fires 31 Employees for Food Stamp Fraud

Florida’s welfare agency fired 31 employees accused of fraudulently obtaining food stamp benefits during Hurricane Irma in 2017.

Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) spokesperson David Fradyconfirmed Tuesday that 31 DCF employees had been fired for fraudulently obtaining Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) benefits in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

“Following a standard review of every employee application for D-SNAP benefits, DCF identified applicants who submitted inconsistent information. Thirty-one employees have been terminated or are in the administrative process of being terminated,” said DCF spokesperson David Frady. “These 31 individuals do not meet the high standards we hold more than 12,000 employees to.”

Italian Government Warned 6 Months Ago Over Deadly Genoa Bridge As New Footage Shows Moment Of Collapse

The public shock and fury surrounding one of the biggest infrastructure tragedies in Italian history is about to get worse. Days after a 200 meter section of the Morandi bridge in Genoa collapsed, killing 43 people, it emerged that Italian transport ministry officials were warned of weaknesses in the viaduct and corrosion in the bridge's cables some six months ago.

According to a study by Autostrade per l’Italia, the country’s biggest motorway toll company, some of the columns supporting the bridge were estimated to have lost 20% of their resistance capacity and needed repair the FT reported. On Monday, the transport ministry, Autostrada and the architect tasked with investigating the collapse confirmed that the findings had been discussed by civil servants in February.

The revelation that the government was aware of the structural weaknesses in the bridge will undermine attempts by the populist coalition to pin blame for the disaster squarely on Autostrade and its parent company Atlantia whose shares have been crushed in recent days amid concerns the government would nationalize the company's contract in retaliation. It will also hinder efforts to blame EU austerity for preventing Italy from keeping its infrastructure up to date.

In a confusing back and forth, the government which came to power in May (and sent Italian bonds into a tailspin) told Autostrada that it intended to revoke its license to operate about half of Italy’s toll motorways, and refused an initial offer by the company of €500m for repairs and compensation. The price of shares in Atlantia fell as much as 9% on Monday before rebounding into the close, after tumbling the most on record last week.

Furthermore, the objectivity of the official investigation by the transport ministry into the collapse has also been questioned after it emerged that the ministry appointed the same official who assessed the Autostrade proposals to head the ministry’s investigation into the accident.

Roberto Ferrazza, a transport ministry architect in Genoa, was part of a provincial board overseeing public works. He said he assessed the project proposed by Autostrade to carry out maintenance and repair works on the bridge in February this year. Last week he was appointed to lead the ministry’s investigation into the collapse.

Michael Cohen pleads guilty to campaign finance fraud, tax evasion

Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer and “fixer,” Michael Cohen, has pleaded guilty to charges including campaign finance fraud stemming from hush money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels and ex-Playboy model Karen McDougal.

The 51-year-old Cohen entered the plea in federal court in New York on Tuesday. The other charges involve bank fraud and income tax evasion.

As part of his plea agreement, Cohen agreed not to challenge any sentence from 46 to 63 months.

Cohen’s plea follows months of scrutiny from federal investigations and a falling out with the president, whom he previously said he’d “take a bullet” for.

FBI raids in April sought bank records, communications with Trump’s campaign and information on payments to Daniels and McDougal.

Both women claimed Trump had affairs with them, which Trump denies.

'I'm Somewhere Bettering Myself': Prison Reform Unlike Any Other in America

Terry Pullins is on his second tour in the North Dakota prison system. He’s also done time in California. Since he never got farther than the fifth grade, the 40-year-old Pullins has spent nearly as much time behind bars as he did in school. But last December brought the most acute punishment he has ever suffered: Pullins lost his daughter in a car accident.

Most inmates in most prisons endure that sort of grief alone. But Pullins is at the Missouri River Correctional Center near Bismarck, N.D. This is a prison designed as much as possible to imitate life on the outside. The warden and staff rallied around him. “Every day I needed help,” Pullins says. “Those two weeks were rough, but they were there for me. I don’t always feel like I’m in prison. I feel like I’m somewhere bettering myself.”

North Dakota has always been a low-crime state, but it has paid a high price for the wars on drugs and crime over the past few decades. Since 1992, the state’s population has increased less than 20 percent, but the number of inmates has gone up 250 percent and is projected to continue to rise. North Dakota is trying to prevent that from happening by taking correctional cues from a distant and unlikely source: the prison system in Norway.

Norwegian prisons reject life sentences and solitary confinement in favor of living quarters built on a human scale, behavioral counseling and a focus on successful re-entry into society. The correctional facilities are often derided as being more like country clubs than prisons. But their results back up claims of success. Norway reports two-year recidivism rates as low as 20 percent, compared to rates three times higher in the U.S.

Report touts value of land conservation in mid-Hudson

Open space in the mid-Hudson saves residents nearly $3.5 billion annually by providing water, supporting pollinators, and reducing infrastructure costs, carbon emissions, climate change and ecosystem instability like flooding.

That’s the conclusion of a new report, “Adding Value: Open Space Conservation in the Mid-Hudson Valley,” by SUNY New Paltz and the Regional Plan Association, a nonprofit urban research and advocacy organization.

The report covers Orange, Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam counties.

In addition, local visitor spending, with open space as one draw, totaled $492 million in Orange County, $587 million in Ulster County and $450 million in Sullivan County in 2017, according to Oxford Economics tourism figures.

“This study quantifies what we in the business of land conversation already know,” said Jim Delaune, executive director of the Orange County Land Trust, a nonprofit conservation organization.

“There’s a real economic and quality of life value in protecting open space, farmland and biodiversity.”

NLRB Puts Call Out for Early Retirements

The Trump administration is looking to use early retirement incentives to cut staffing levels at the federal government's top labor arbiter.

The National Labor Relations Board has put out a call for early retirements to reduce its workforce. The agency said the voluntary retirement and separation programs are needed to restore balance between its caseloads and employees, as well as address "flat funding" as Congress and the White House have rejected bids for budget hikes.

"The NLRB has an imbalance in staffing in both headquarters and the NLRB’s regional offices," the agency said in an Aug. 7 announcement. Incentivizing workers to retire or quit, the announcement says, "will enable the Agency to reallocate its limited resources and to, among other things, provide employees with the tools they need, including training and improvements in technology."

London museum is live-streaming a key 21st-century artifact—festering sewage

You can now feast your eyes on a festering chunk of solidified sewage as it ages, not-so-gracefully, inside a specially-designed isolation case that is being live-streamed from a museum in London.

Is there anything more 21st century than that?

The rancid refuse was chipped off an infamous sewer clog discovered in London late last year called the Whitechapel “Fatberg”—the preferred term for such muck monsters. The complete clog clocked in as an epic 250-meter-long, 130-metric ton mass of congealed excrement and waste, thought to be one of the largest—if not the largest—fatbergs ever identified.

Police Shut Down Alabama Dog Fighting, Saving Seventeen Animals

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies saved the lives of more than a dozen innocent dogs from a dog fighting ring on Sunday.

After receiving complaints of dogs fighting near Main Street in Mulga, Alabama, Chief Deputy Randy Christian said that they could hear them somewhere in the woods behind one of the houses. They intercepted one person carrying an injured canine, then proceeded to find 17 more. Four of those had injuries consistent with dog fighting.

Eleven dog skulls were found in the area surrounding a ring that contained fresh blood.

Authorities arrested Reginald Antonio Dowdell, 42, for allegedly participating in dog fighting. “He was booked into the county jail and later released on a $15,000 bond,” reports WVTM.

Used Car Prices Hit All Time High

Regular readers know that we consider used car prices an important, if overlooked, indicator of the true state of the US economy. More Americans buy used vehicles than new ones, making them a deeper measure of consumer sentiment. And since the supply of used cars and trucks is essentially fixed – you can’t “make” one – prices are exceptionally twitchy and move noticeably on both dealer (and therefore small business) sentiment and underlying retail demand.

The Manheim Used Vehicle Index is one widely watched measure, and it just made a new all time high for data from July 2018 auction results.

The numbers and some historical perspective:

Wholesale (the index tracks dealer-only auction results) prices for used cars/trucks were +1.5% from June to July 2018 and +5.1% versus July 2017.

More affordable vehicles saw the largest price increases, with compact and midsized cars outperforming the overall market. This is unusual; for the last several years it has been hotter-selling SUVs and pickup trucks that have led used vehicle prices higher.

Cox Automotive (which owns the Manheim auction business) notes that the overall used vehicle market (both dealer and private sales) is currently robust, with a July 2018 selling rate of 39.2 million vehicles, +3% over last year and at +5 year highs. For comparison, July 2018 new vehicle sales were flat versus last year.

Attorney General Frosh Joins New Brief in Net Neutrality Lawsuit

Brief Urges DC Circuit to Vacate and Reverse FCC’s Illegal Rollback of Net Neutrality

BALTIMORE, MD –
Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today joined a new brief in the lawsuit to block the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) illegal rollback of net neutrality, urging the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit to vacate and reverse the FCC’s order. Attorney General Frosh is part of a coalition of 23 Attorneys General that filed suit earlier this year.

“The plan to kill net neutrality will hurt consumers and businesses across Maryland,” said Attorney General Frosh. “The FCC’s proposal to turn control of Internet access over to special interests will also jeopardize free speech.”

BALTIMORE, MD –
Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh today released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s proposed plan to dismantle the Clean Power Plan, the first-ever national limits on climate change emissions from existing fossil-fuel power plants:

“The Environmental Protection Agency cannot step away from its job. We have a shared responsibility to protect our environment from harm. Any effort to pare down or eliminate the Clean Power Plan takes away years of progress to mitigate the harmful effects of climate change on our public health and our environment. Our coalition of states and local governments will continue to defend the Clean Power Plan which is critical to ensuring that progress is made in confronting climate change.”

One Million Americans Default On Their Student Loans Each Year, Report Reveals

More than one million American student loan borrowers default on their debt each year, a new report says.

That means by 2023, approximately 40 percent of borrowers are expected to default.

That is according to a new report by the Urban Institute, a nonprofit research organization dedicated to developing evidence-based insights on critical socioeconomic issues. Researchers found about 250,000 student loan borrowers see their debts go into default every quarter, and an additional 20,000 to 30,000 borrowers default on their rehabilitated student loans.

“My results indicate that the likelihood of student loan default is positively correlated with holding other collections debt (e.g., medical, utilities, retail, or bank debt). About 59 percent of borrowers who defaulted on their student loans within four years had collections debt in the year before entering student loan repayment (compared with 24 percent among non-defaulters). Those who will default on their student loans are more likely to reside in neighborhoods that have more residents of color and fewer adults with a bachelor’s degree or higher, but a borrower’s personal credit profile is a stronger predictor of default than the neighborhood where she resides,” said Kristin Blagg, a research associate in the Education Policy Program at the Urban Institute.

Woman charged in flag incident accepts plea agreement

Conditions require restitution, apology, donation to Camp Barnes

A Wilmington woman charged in connection with burning a flag left on the Nassau Bridge in honor of a police officer has accepted a plea agreement that withdraws the charges if certain conditions are met.

The woman was scheduled for arraignment Aug. 13 in Sussex County Court of Common Pleas, but she took a plea in connection with charges issued July 13. Police say she stopped her car on the Nassau Bridge and took a Thin Blue Line flag that was secured to the guardrail.

A witness reported the incident, and police stopped the 21-year-old in Milton. By then, police said, the woman no longer had the flag because she set fire to it and destroyed it. Police charged her with theft, criminal mischief and traffic offenses.

A second woman faces charges after police say she stopped her car on the bridge July 24 and tampered with flags, which by then had grown to seven, attached to the guardrail following the first incident. She was charged before the flags were removed from the bridge. In court documents, the woman said she took the flags down because she believed the flags should be red, white and blue. She was charged with attempt to commit theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief.

Micheal Cohen Plea Deal Involves Jail Time; Will Not Cooperate With Government

Update 5: The charges filed against Cohen have been disclosed, and according to Bloomberg they are as follows:
Charges 1-5: Evading personal income tax
Charge 6: False statement to financial institution
Charge 7: Causing unlawful corporate campaign contribution
Charge 8: Making an excessive campaign contribution in October 2016

* * *

Update 4: Bloomberg confirms that Cohen is pleading guilty to 8 counts related to tax and bank fraud, and that Deputy Attorney Rod Rosenstein signed off on his plea deal, adding that "Investigators have looked into Cohen’s role in payments to silence two women who say they had affairs with Trump: Stephanie Clifford, an adult film actress better known as Stormy Daniels, and former Playboy model Karen McDougal."

***

Update 3: The NYT confirms that Michael Cohen's plea deal does not involve co-operation with the government, but will include jail time. The plea deal will include tax fraud and bank fraud.

According to Harry Sandick, a former federal prosecutor in Manhattan, there could be several reasons for Cohen to plead guilty without a cooperation deal, according. As Bloomberg notes, it’s possible that federal prosecutors don’t consider his information valuable or view him as a worthy witness. But that could change.

“It could mean that they don’t need him or don’t trust him, or just aren’t ready to cut the deal yet,” said Sandick, now a defense attorney at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP. “Trump might be happy if there’s no cooperation today, but there could be cooperation in the future."

As Bloomberg also adds, the charges against Cohen could expose Trump to new risks. Few deputies at his namesake company were as involved in its various dealings as Cohen. With an office on the 26th floor in Trump Tower that was just a few feet away from his boss’s, Cohen styled himself as a loyal attack dog - upbraiding reporters in efforts to kill unflattering news articles and arranging deals to stifle accusations by women who alleged extramarital affairs.

Man sues over Google’s “Location History” fiasco

Google is facing new scrutiny in the wake of revelations that it stores users’ location data even when "Location History" is turned off.

Last Friday, Google quietly edited its description of the practice on its own website—while continuing said practice—to clarify that "some location data may be saved as part of your activity on other services, like Search and Maps."

As a result of the previously unknown practice, which was first exposed by the Associated Press last week, Google has now been sued by a man in San Diego. Simultaneously, activists in Washington, DC are urging the Federal Trade Commission to examine whether the company is in breach of its 2011 consent decree with the agency.

In the lawsuit, which was filed in federal court last Friday in San Francisco, attorneys representing a man named Napoleon Patacsil argued that Google is violating the California Invasion of Privacy Act and the state’s constitutional right to privacy.

EPA claims replacement for Obama coal rule would save $400 million annually, reduce pollution

The Trump administration officially rolled out its replacement for the Clean Power Plan, former President Barack Obama’s signature initiative to combat climate change, with claims that the revision would save money while also slightly reducing carbon dioxide pollution.

The Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday morning released its plan, renamed the “Affordable Clean Energy Rule,” that the agency said would provide $400 million in annual benefits, while reducing carbon emission levels by up to 1.5 percent by 2030. President Trump is expected to tout the new rule at a rally in coal-friendly West Virginia Tuesday night.

“The ACE Rule would restore the rule of law and empower states to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and provide modern, reliable, and affordable energy for all Americans,” said EPA Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler. “Today’s proposal provides the states and regulated community the certainty they need to continue environmental progress while fulfilling President Trump’s goal of energy dominance.”

DirecTV beats $4B lawsuit that alleged it tricked customers into paying more

AT&T-owned DirecTV has defeated the bulk of a $4 billion lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission, which wasn't able to convince a judge that DirecTV ads deceived customers about the price of service.

The FTC sued DirecTV in March 2015, alleging that the nation's largest satellite TV provider used deceptive advertising to get consumers to agree to price increases of up to $45 per month and early cancellation fees of up to $480. The FTC was seeking refunds for affected consumers.

Social-media Censorship Plan --> Soros

The recent wave of censorship of conservative voices on the internet by tech giants Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Apple mirrors a plan concocted by a coalition of George Soros-funded, progressive groups to take back power in Washington from President Trump’s administration.

A confidential, 49-page memo for defeating Trump by working with the major social-media platforms to eliminate “right wing propaganda and fake news” was presented in January 2017 by Media Matters founder David Brock at a retreat in Florida with about 100 donors, the Washington Free Beacon reported at the time.

On Monday, the Gateway Pundit blog noted the memo’s relationship with recent moves by Silicon Valley tech giants to “shadow ban” conservative political candidates and pundits and remove content.

The Free Beacon obtained a copy of the memo, “Democracy Matters: Strategic Plan for Action,” by attending the retreat.

The memo spells out a four-year agenda that deployed Media Matters along with American Bridge, Shareblue and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) to attack Trump and Republicans.

Trump Curbs on H-2B Outsourcing Boost Americans’ Wages

Employers are raising wages for Americans in the crab-meat business because of President Donald Trump’s opposition to the H-2B blue-collar outsourcing program, the Washington Post admits.

The good news about supply-and-demand is hidden by the Post‘s reporter amid threats from business executives and laments from excluded Mexican workers. The 22nd paragraph of the article, which is headlined “‘Please come help’: Eastern Shore crab houses are suffering this summer because they didn’t get the visas needed to hire enough pickers from Mexico” says:

[Business-owner Aubrey] Vincent has upped starting wages — she pays $9.60 an hour, plus $4.50 for each pound of crab meat picked — and partnered with a temp agency in nearby Cambridge, Md., to try to recruit local workers. Of 60 applicants, only a handful were hired and stayed on …

Eden Park, an Eastern Shore native who works the docks for Lindy’s, said he has been clocking hours six days a week this summer to help the business keep up with demand.

He used to work alongside eight H2-B workers. But this year, there are none with him on the docks. In addition to unloading bushels of crabs, or driving a truck in from town, he is also contacting customers, delivering crabs, grading them, loading trucks, making sure those trucks depart, and refueling and washing the vehicles when they come back in.

“My responsibilities got astronomically a lot larger,” he said.

EPA Signs Proposal to Boost Coal Power Plants

The Trump administration signaled Monday it is intent on removing some Obama-era environmental rules by signing a proposal that would soften regulations on coal-burning power plants.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Acting EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler signed the document that is already facing pushback from environmental groups.

If the new rules go into effect, the regulation of power plants' emissions would largely fall on states rather than federal government rules that industry officials have said raise their costs.

"The entire Obama administration plan was centered around doing away with coal," Wheeler told the Journal, referencing the Obama administration's Clean Power Plan.

On the evening of August 20, a group of students gathered to demand that university officials remove the statue that has stood since 1913 on McCorkle Place in the university’s upper quad. But after several hours of chanting and speaking about the destruction of the statue, the protesters took the situation into their own hands and tore the monument down, ABC 11 reported.

Many of the protesters were rallying in solidarity with former UNC graduate student Maya Little who was facing expulsion as well as criminal charges for covering the statue with red paint back in May.

Los Angeles Will Be the First City to Use Body Scanners on Subways. Which Could Be Next?

Several cities and transit agencies have been working with the TSA to test the security devices.

Los Angeles will be the first U.S. city to deploy body scanners, similar to those used by airport security, in its sprawling transit system.

The city last fall partnered with the federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to test a portable body scanner at one of its busiest light rail stops, the 7th Street Metro Center Station. On Tuesday, Los Angeles announced that it is making the scanners a permanent part of its transit security.

Because they are portable, the scanners will be moved around from location to location. Passengers should not expect to see the devices at every station or every day. Los Angeles Metro said the scanners would “augment” its existing security measures.

Connecting The Dots

I am passing this on from someone who's connecting some dots with input from sources he cannot reveal.

Here's what it looks like when all the pieces are sewn together

It smells like conspiracy and treason. Everyone needs to read this. Slowly, and patiently, because it’s very important......

From 2001 to 2005 there was an ongoing investigation into the Clinton Foundation.

A Grand Jury had been impanelled.

Governments from around the world had donated to the “Charity”.

Yet, from 2001 to 2003 none of those “Donations” to the Clinton Foundation were declared. Now you would think that an honest investigator would be able to figure this out.

Look who took over this investigation in 2005: None other than James Comey; Coincidence? Guess who was transferred into the Internal Revenue Service to run the Tax Exemption Branch of the IRS? None other than, Lois “Be on The Look Out” (BOLO) Lerner. Isn’t that interesting?

But this is all just a series of strange coincidences, right?

Guess who ran the Tax Division inside the Department of Injustice from 2001 to 2005?

No other than the Assistant Attorney General of the United States,

Rod Rosenstein.

Guess who was the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation during this time frame?

Another coincidence (just an anomaly in statistics and chances), but it was Robert Mueller.

What do all four casting characters have in common?

They all were briefed and/or were front-line investigators into the Clinton Foundation Investigation.

Another coincidence, right?

Fast forward to 2009....

James Comey leaves the Justice Department to go and cash-in at Lockheed Martin.

Hillary Clinton is running the State Department, official government business, on her own personal email server.

The Uranium One “issue” comes to the attention of the Hillary.

Like all good public servants do, supposedly looking out for America’s best interest, she decides to support the decision and approve the sale of 20% of US Uranium to no other than, the Russians.

Now you would think that this is a fairly straight up deal, except it wasn’t, America got absolutely nothing out of it.

However, prior to the sales approval, no other than Bill Clinton goes to Moscow, gets paid 500K for a one hour speech; then meets with Vladimir Putin at his home for a few hours.

Ok, no big deal right? Well, not so fast, the FBI had a mole inside the money laundering and bribery scheme.

Robert Mueller was the FBI Director during this time frame? Yep, He even delivered a Uranium Sample to Moscow in 2009.

Who was handling that case within the Justice Department out of the US Attorney’s Office in Maryland?

None other than, Rod Rosenstein. And what happened to the informant?

The Department of Justice placed a GAG order on him and threatened to lock him up if he spoke out about it.

How does 20% of the most strategic asset of the United States of America end up in Russian hands when the FBI has an informant, a mole providing inside information to the FBI on the criminal enterprise?

Very soon after; the sale was approved!~145 million dollars in “donations” made their way into the Clinton Foundation from entities directly connected to the Uranium One deal.

Mollie Tibbetts murder suspect was a local farmhand

The man who was arrested in the murder of Mollie Tibbetts, the University of Iowa student who disappeared last month, worked less than three miles from where she was staying the night she vanished.

Cristhian Rivera, 24, was employed by Yarrabee Farms for the past several years, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Des Moines Register reported that it reviewed documents that listed several owners of the farm, which included Dane Lang and Eric Lang, both relatives of Craig Lang. Craig Lang, who owns a dozen property deeds in Brooklyn, Iowa, is reportedly a former 2018 Republican candidate for secretary of agriculture in the state.

Dane Lang said Rivera worked there for the past several years, and was an "employee in good standing."

He also noted that Rivera passed the government's E-Verify employment verification system, despite his status as an undocumented immigrant. The system is intended to maintain a database of I-9 forms and tax records of employees across the country.

Millennials Let Their Grandparents Decide Local Elections

Young people rarely vote in presidential races -- and even less often in mayoral contests. See which cities have the biggest generation gap in turnout.

Young people have historically voted in much lower numbers than older Americans, and 2016 was no exception. But their absence is most pronounced in elections at the local level. Disparities in turnout -- already vast in presidential and congressional elections -- are even greater in contests that decide who runs the nation’s cities.

A study conducted by Portland State University tallied voter turnout in the most recent mayoral elections in the 30 largest cities. It found that residents 65 years and older were a median of seven times more likely to vote than those ages 18 to 34, who frequently registered turnout rates in the single digits. “There’s an enormous disconnect with younger citizens in understanding the impact that local governments have,” says Phil Keisling, director of the university’s Center for Public Service. “They’re ceding to their grandparents the political decisions.”

A number of factors contribute to dismal youth participation. For starters, young people move a lot, making them less likely to be registered to vote or feel as vested in a city as longtime residents. They also tend to be renters, a demographic that doesn’t cast ballots as often as homeowners, even when they’ve lived longer in a particular place.

It's A Long Read But So Well Worth The Time

I know there are Trump haters out there, but, open your eyes and stop being naive, OK?

Guess who was still at the Internal Revenue Service working the Charitable Division? None other than, - Lois Lerner.

Ok, that’s all just another series of coincidences, nothing to see here, right?

Let’s fast forward to 2015.

Due to a series of tragic events in Benghazi and after the 9 “investigations” the House, Senate and at State Department, Trey Gowdy who was running the 10th investigation as Chairman of the Select Committee on Benghazi discovers that the Hillary ran the State Department on an unclassified, unauthorized, outlaw personal email server. He also discovered that none of those emails had been turned over when she departed her “Public Service” as Secretary of State which was required by law. He also discovered that there was Top Secret information contained within her personally archived email.

In Rural America, Violent Crime Reaches Highest Level in a Decade

The loss of jobs and the opioid epidemic are two of the biggest reasons.

When you think about crime, what do you picture? Probably the dark and scary streets of a crowded city. After all, cop shows always seem to be set in big cities.

But while violent crime is still a problem in urban areas, many of them are in fact safer now than they’ve been in decades. The violent crime rate in rural areas, meanwhile, has climbed above the national average for the first time in 10 years.

In Iowa, the overall violent crime rate rose by 3 percent between 2006 and 2016, but shot up by 50 percent in communities with fewer than 10,000 residents. Violent crime rates have doubled in rural counties in West Virginia over the past couple of decades, while tripling in New Hampshire. “Rural areas, which traditionally have had lower crime rates, have seen dramatic increases in incarceration rates,” says Jacob Kang-Brown, a senior research associate with the Vera Institute of Justice. “We see them now having the highest incarceration rates in the country.”

First Trans Gubernatorial Nominee Makes Unbelievable Statement About ‘Crazy’ ‘Radicalized Christians’

First Trans Gubernatorial Nominee Makes Unbelievable Statement About ‘Crazy’ ‘Radicalized Christians’
'And we worry about sharia law!' a candidate outrageously tweets — Vermonters of faith, take heed

Vermont’s state motto is “Freedom and Unity.” But if Green Mountain State residents want to live up to that, they might want to take a harder look at one of their current gubernatorial candidates.

Christine Hallquist, a Democrat and the country’s first major party transgender nominee, once tweeted an insinuation that “radicalized Christians” are a problem that Americans currently “tolerate,” as The Daily Caller reported.

Hallquist won Tuesday’s Democratic primary for the Vermont governor’s race.

She’s now set to challenge incumbent GOP Gov. Phil Scott in November.

“And we worry about sharia law!!”Hallquist tweeted last summer, with a link to an article from “LGBTQ Nation” about a girl who was disqualified from a soccer team because she looked like a boy.

After Four Months, School Finally Allows Parents To Watch the One-Sided Activist ‘Anti-Bullying’ Videos They Showed to a Captive Audience of Teens

After four months, Emmaus High School in Emmaus, Penn. finally released links to four videos it showed to students this past spring, after a Christian law firm intervened to defend the rights of parents to know what the public school is showing their children. The school defended the videos as anti-bullying, but they promoted a one-sided agenda with which parents may not agree. The school had refused to make the videos public, arguing that they were students' private work.

"The URLs, which parents and the [American Family Association of Pennsylvania] had been told were all about anti-bullying, proved to be quite the opposite. They were very much promoting homosexuality and transgenderism to a captive audience of children," Dianne Gramley, president of the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Family Association (AFA), said in a news release Friday. She reported that parents had requested the videos going back to May, shortly after they were shown to a captive audience of students.

The #Metoo Movement Is On Its Last Legs

It’s been a bad few weeks for the #Metoo movement. First, we learned about the domestic-abuse allegations againstDemocrat Congressman Keith Ellison, then we learned about the leader of the #MeToo movement, Asia Argento, allegedly paying off her own sexual assault victim.

On its face, the #Metoo movement sounds like a good thing, but it’s a slippery slope because due process is simply thrown out the window for many of those accused of sexual misconduct.

The Left, however, seems to care more about due process when it’s one of their own under fire, which explains why Democrats and the media are relatively quiet on the very serious allegations against Ellison.

“America Uncensored” is a Daily Caller program dedicated to political stories dominating the news cycle. TheDC’s Stephanie Hamill is a straight shooter who isn’t afraid to tell you what she thinks.

When The Gene Pool Self-Chlorinates

Periodically, when I’m in a bad mood I go on a rant about “innocents abroad.”

This usually relates to one of my kids’ friends going abroad and coming back with stars in their eyes, my absolutely favorite being the one who was sure that socialism couldn’t be bad, because look at all the great palaces and monuments France has. Yes, he got an history lecture about no matter what you might think of feudalism, it was not socialism. And how most of what socialist France has done involves things like trying to develop a video phone system that worked … well… like the net. And failing.

There is worse, though.

Most people in the US don’t get how safe or how prosperous we are, not only in relation to most of history, but in relation to most of the world. They just don’t. The concept is impossible to comprehend if you’ve lived your entire life sheltered and fed in the US.

Which honestly is why so many people go abroad and then come home and work to destroy the US because they think that the only way we can be that prosperous is if we’re stealing from others. Their guilt sends them into stupid global redistributionism, without their having any clue of what really causes the foreign immiseration.

Brazil Deploys Troops To Venezuela Border After Migrant Chaos - "This Is Going To Turn Into War!"

Brazil’s President Michel Temer announced an emergency meeting of government Sunday after deploying troops to the border town of Pacaraima where Venezuelan migrants clashed with residents.

Temer met with key officials at his presidential palace, including those of defense, public security, and foreign affairs, but limited details were disclosed, said the AFP.

The situation in Pacaraima was critical on Saturday, migrant camps were overwhelmed by angry residents following reports that a local restaurant owner had been attacked by a gang of Venezuelans.

There has been growing hostility towards the numbers of Venezuelan migrants entering the Roraima state, Brazil’s northernmost region, in recent months.

CBP: 41,000 Unaccompanied Children Apprehended at Border

Richard Hudson, acting chief of Law Enforcement Operations Directorate with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), said at a hearing on Thursday that, in recent months, agents have apprehended 41,000 children without parents or guardians and encountered as many as a quarter of a million since 2014 at the U.S. border with Mexico.

“Between Oct. 1, 2017, and July 31, 2018, more than 41,000 UACs have been apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol,” Hudson said, noting that 7,000 of those were deemed inadmissible at ports of entry.

“Since 2014, when we saw the first surge of UACs, CBP has encountered nearly 250,000 UAC’s along the southwest border,” Hudson said.

FBI Dealt Blow By DC Judge; Must Address Measures Taken To Verify Steele Dossier

The FBI has been dealt a major blow after a Washington DC judge ruled that the agency must respond to a FOIA request for documents concerning the bureau's efforts to verify the controversial Steele Dossier, before it was used as the foundation of a FISA surveillance warrant application and subsequent renewals.

US District Court Judge Amit Mehta - who in January sided with the FBI's decision to ignore the FOIA request, said that President Trump's release of two House Intelligence Committee documents (the "Nunes" and "Schiff" memos) changed everything.

Considering that the FBI offered Steele $50,000 to verify the Dossier's claims yet never paid him, BuzzFeed has unsuccessfully tried to do the same to defend themselves in a dossier-related lawsuit, and a $50 million Soros-funded investigation to continue the hunt have turned up nothing that we know of - whatever documents the FBI may be forced to cough up regarding their attempts to verify the Dossier could prove highly embarrassing for the agency.

Hot Air

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a boat below. She shouts to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consults his portable GPS and replies, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolls her eyes and says, "You must be a Republican!"

"I am," replies the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answers the balloonist, "everything you tell me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you're not much help to me."

The man smiles and responds, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am, replies the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," says the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."

Is Britain Backing South Africa's Land Confiscations From White Farmers?

Update: In a truly stunning report, Theresa May’s government appears to be backing the Soviet-style policy of “land expropriation without compensation” aimed at dispossessing South Africa’s white farmers.

Breitbart London has seen a letter written by Harriet Baldwin MP, Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), to Sir Paul Beresford MP, who enquired what the government’s stance on the policy was on behalf of a concerned constituent.

“The British government understands the need for land reform in South Africa”, Baldwin asserted, adding that they “welcomed” promises from President Cyril Ramaphosa that “the process of land [re]distribution would be orderly within South African laws” and be carried out “without negatively affecting economic growth, agricultural production and food security”.

In a follow-up email to the constituent from the Africa Department (Central and Southern) of the FCO, also seen by Breitbart London andconfirmed as “reflect[ing] Government policy on this issue” by the FCO newsdesk, the department confirms:

Theresa May is satisfied with having been told that “[the] process would be taken forward on a multi-party basis, through Parliament, and… within the bounds of the Constitution and carefully designed so as to avoid damaging food security or deterring investment”.

It appears the fact that one white farmer is being murdered every five days, and the fact that South Afriuca just changed its constitution to enable the compensation-less confiscation, and the fact that when these exact same actions of forced redistribution or more simply put - confiscation - were undertaken in Zimbabwe, the nation's economy collapsed and social unrest exploded; are irrelevant to the British government, who instead, if this report is true, merely take the words of a clearly corrupt leader as sacrosanct ('socialist activist' Cyril Ramaphosa is one of South Africa's richest men and has an estimated net worth of $550 million).

The Unpleasant Truth About The 1941 Parachuting Of Rudolf Hess In England, Part 2

Read Part 1 here...
The context

A little context is mandatory to perfectly define the message that Rudolf was carrying. The outstanding works of researchers such as Anthony Sutton and Charles Higham are critical in our understanding of the real historical context surrounding the creation of the Nazi war machine. When in 1933 Hitler accessed to the Chancellery in the Reichstag, Germany was in financial limbo. Worst, the nation was in the gutters of limbs. It owed tens of billions in reparations for WW1, and its inability to comply had provoked a gargantuan-scale inflation crisis on the mark in 1923 that cut the currency to 1/500 billionth of its original value. To make matters worse, the country suffered along everyone the world Crash of 1929. So how in the world was Germany able to eradicate unemployment and create the most formidable military machine the world had ever seen in just 6 years? Over achievement is under rated when it comes to explain the German Miracle of the ’30s.

The first tool that is required in our investigator’s toolbox is to admit the very documented fact that the Bank of England, controlled by the Rothschild family, had been involved in the financing of the Nazis. It had become a common procedure for the rich European banking family to fund enemies as well as allies, in order to make profits from both sides of wars since Napoleon. The self-proclaimed French Emperor of the early 19th century had been hired as a proxy by Rothschild who wanted to impose his private central banks in the conquered countries. So, the heirs of the Rothschild family saw in Hitler their next Napoleon, who would submit rival colonial empires like Belgium, the Netherlands and France, as well as destroying the mighty USSR, in order to singlehandedly take the reins of the New World Order, which is simply the economical and political ruling of the whole planet by a handful of bankers.

Even though the New World Order sounds like a supercharged conspiracy theory, it’s an indisputable and quite simple concept.

Vietnam Pilots - Why were so many shot down? R WE DUMB OR WHAT

The democrats were in charge then, and continue to try to destroy America today.

Ever wondered why so many of our aviators in Vietnam were shot down?

Taken from "The Secret War and Other Conflicts" (Published 2014 by GENERAL PETE PIOTROWSKI, ISBN 978-1-4931-6187-4 (Hardcover) Following is a quote of much interest, from pages 246/247:

'Nearly twenty years later, former Secretary of State Dean Rusk was being interviewed by Peter Arnett on a CBC documentary called The Ten Thousand Day War.

Mr. Arnett asked, "It has been rumored that the United States provided the North Vietnamese government the names of the targets that would be bombed the following day. Is there any truth to that allegation?"

To everyone's astonishment and absolute disgust, the former Secretary responded, "Yes. We didn't want to harm the North Vietnamese people, so we passed the targets to the Swiss Embassy in Washington with instructions to pass them to the NVN government through their embassy in Hanoi."

As we watched in horror, Secretary Rusk went on to say, "All we wanted to do is demonstrate to the North Vietnamese leadership that we could strike targets at will, but we didn't want to kill innocent people. By giving the North Vietnamese advanced warning of the targets to be attacked, we thought they would tell the workers to stay home."

No wonder all the targets were so heavily defended day after day! The NVN obviously moved as many guns as they could overnight to better defend each target they knew was going to be attacked. Clearly, many brave American Air Force and Navy fliers died or spent years in NVNprison camps as a direct result of being intentionally betrayed by Secretary Rusk and Secretary McNamara, and perhaps, President Johnson himself.

I cannot think of a more duplicitous and treacherous act by American government officials. Dean Rusk served as Secretary of State from January 21, 1961, through to January 20, 1969, under President John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.

Mr. Arnett opined that “this would be a treasonous act by anyone else.” A very sad revelation.'

The knee is not the problem

Children raised in fatherless homes, especially black children, are far more likely than children raised in two parent homes to engage in criminal behavior and thus, have contact with police. Ergo when they father a child with a woman to whom they are not married - or at least living with -they are contributing to the problem against which these football players are taking a knee.

If you look at many of these players' records on out-of-wedlock children, you find that they are contributing significantly to the problem against which they are protesting.

For example, Antonio Cromartie has 12 children by 9 different women. Apparently the NFL had to shell out $500,000 before he could even play football for them. Travis Henry has 11 children by 10 women, Willis McGahee has 9 children by 8 women, Derrick Thomas has 7 children by 5 different women, Bennie Blades has 6 children by 6 women, Ray Lewis has 6 children by 4 women and Marshall Faulk has 6 children by 3 women.

They forgot to include Adrian Peterson. 11 kids from 7 different women?

Before these guys take a knee they should take a good look in the mirror. It appears that their problem is not their knee. Its their weenee.

SPOOKS TURN ON EACH OTHER=> Clapper Throws Brennan Under the Bus – “John and His Rhetoric Have Become an Issue”

On Sunday, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said John Brennan’s rhetoric is becoming an issue.

“John and his rhetoric have become an issue in and of itself,” Clapper said in an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

James Clapper was responding to a NYT op-ed former CIA Director John Brennan penned a few days ago wherein he claimed Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia.

Brennan isn’t handling his security clearance being revoked by President Trump too well–he’s fuming!
