Illinois Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush is losing 15 percent of his salary due to repayment of the more than $1 million he owes for making a delinquent loan for a church he started in Chicago.
The announcement comes as Cook County Circuit Judge Alexander White ordered the garnishment of more than $2,100 a month from Rush’s annual $174,000 salary Wednesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Rush, who has served in congress for 25 years, was ordered to pay back the original $550,000 June 2005 loan that New City Bank granted him and seven other co-signers. Rush bought a church in Englewood, Chicago, with the loan money. The order came after the church stopped making its monthly payments in November 2011, causing creditors to sue the Democratic congressman.

A Viewer Writes: Comcast delayed payment processing
Has anyone else notice how long it takes for Comcast to credit payments to their accounts?
I send out bill payments (business and personal) around the first of the month. Almost all the vendors credit the payments within 3 days of me mailing them. Comcast, however, can't do it within 7 !!
Do you think they are trying to generate late fees or are they that inefficient?
BTW...i don't use e-bill for Comcast because i like to review the bills in detail before paying. I've noticed they have the habit of increasing bills without you noticing.
Anyone else notice this (who doesn't use e-payment)???

Dems Block Farm Bill Over Food Stamps
Democrats in the House of Representatives are stalling negotiations on the Farm Bill, the massive bill that authorizes spending agriculture programs, over potential changes to the food stamps program.
The 19 Democrats the House Committee on Agriculture said in a letter sent Thursday they had “grown increasingly concerned about the nutrition policies being pushed by the majority,” particularly those regarding the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) or food stamps.
“Items you have broadly outlined in your meetings with us and that have been reported in the press are a significant cause of concern,” the letter, released by Agri-Pulse, said.

Sheriff legally used $750,000 in inmate food funds for beach house
A sheriff pocketed $750,000 meant to feed prison inmates and used it to buy a lavish beach house - and it was completely legal.
Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin filed 'more than $250,000' of extra 'compensation' with the Alabama Ethics Commission from inmate feeding funds.
He claimed it under an obscure pre-WWII law allowed Alabama sheriffs to keep 'excess' prison food provisions for themselves.

Medieval 'pot o' gold' discovered by construction workers
Just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day — two construction workers in Holland have discovered a real-life “pot o’ gold.”
The workers from water company Oasen made the stunning find when they were laying pipes in the new town of Hoef and Haag, in the province of Utrecht, LiveScience reports.
During the construction work, they dug up a medieval cooking pot that contained 12 gold and 462 silver coins. The coins have been dated to the 15th century. It's unclear at this point who will keep the coins.
After finding the pot, "it literally and figuratively rained coins," the company explained in apress release translated via Google Translate.

We Still Got It
This morning I took a look at our traffic. It's important every so often to show our viewers just how significant we are to our communities. Yesterday's totals, (65,503) were nice and as of early this morning, (8 AM) we were already on our way to what will be yet another strong day.
For years our local media challenged us asking us to post our hits. Today, they are completely silent because none of them can compare. In fact, as you know, one calls them-self Delmarva's News Leader. Give me a break. More importantly, none of them, (including bloggers) will publish their numbers/subscribers.
We thank ALL of you for being so supportive. Hope you had an enjoyable St. Patrick's Day.

2018 County Health Rankings Show Differences in Health and Opportunity
Wicomico County Ranks Nineteen, Improving from Last Year
(Salisbury, MD) The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute has recently released the Annual County Health Rankings. For nearly a decade, the County Health Rankings have shown that where we live makes a difference in how well and how long we live.
Good health allows people to fulfill their potential and thrive. The Rankings make it clear that good health is influenced by many factors beyond medical care, including education, jobs, affordable housing, and access to healthy foods, all factors that Wicomico County can strive to do something about.
This year, Wicomico was ranked at #19 out of 24 jurisdictions (1 being the healthiest). This rank is an improvement from last year’s ranking of #20. Wicomico County uses the Rankings to conduct community health assessments, develop community health improvement plans, and work collaboratively as part of a Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) to build a culture of wellness throughout all local communities. The LHIC regularly reviews data provided through the Rankings, along with other national, state and local data to compare and then strategically determine priority areas for Wicomico County.
“The Wicomico County Health Department will continue to work with leaders from multiple sectors to build on the successes of our public health programs, coalitions, and councils. The Health Department plans to use this year’s Rankings as a call to action to address opportunity gaps so that every resident in Wicomico County has an equal opportunity to be healthy,” said Lori Brewster, Health Officer.
It’s not a race to the top; it’s about progress toward better health and wellness. To learn more about County Health Rankings visit the website at www.countyhealthrankings.org.

Teen Gun Protest Funded, Promoted by Dozens of Left-Wingers, Soros-Backed Moveon.org
It did not take long after a former student at a Florida high school with a history of mental health issues gunned down 17 people last month for the left in the United States to use the tragedy to advance its anti-Trump, anti-America, anti-gun agenda.
The same progressive organizations that launched the Women’s March to protest the election of President Donald Trump planned, promoted and scripted the National School Walkout on Wednesday where middle and high school students were asked to walk out of school for 17 minutes to “honor” the 17 victims.
In some places across the country, including Washington D.C., that walkout turned into marches and protests to demand “gun control” and to demonize support for the Second Amendment, including blaming the National Rifle Association for “gun violence” in schools.
On the Women’s March website the “partners” for the March are listed, including the two “premier” sponsors, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the National Resources Defense Council — two organizations that paradoxically kill unborn babies while 'protecting' the planet.
Some of the other “partners” are Services Employees International Union, AFL-CIO, GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders, ACLU, Occupy Wall Street, Pussy Hat Project, United We Dream, moveon.org (funded by George Soros) Center for American Progress, CODEPINK, Communist Party USA, Emily’s List, Human Rights Campaign, and the National Abortion Federation.

Black Pastors Call on Rep. Maxine Waters to Condemn Louis Farrakhan’s ‘Leftist Hate Speech’
The head of a coalition of black pastors says Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) must end their “partisan hypocrisy” and denounce “leftist hate speech” such as that proclaimed by anti-Semite and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
In a press release sent to Breitbart News, Rev. William Owens, president of the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) refers to Farrakhan’s statement in a recent speech: “White folks are going down. And Satan is going down. And Farrakhan, by God’s grace, has pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew and I’m here to say your time is up, your world is through.”
Owens observes Waters was among those present at Farrakhan’s speech.
“Rep. Waters’ refusal to speak out against Farrakhan and other extremist hate speech is the perfect example of the hypocrisy and moral cowardice of the Congressional Black Caucus,” Owens says. “Rep. Waters lives in a multi-million dollar home, a stark contrast to the poor district she represents. She manipulates African American voters for her own gain. And she’s just one of many black leaders who have sold out our values.”

GOP Leadership Will Fund Sanctuary Cities
Republican leadership is going to fund sanctuary cities in the must-pass spending bill next week, giving Democrats a huge victory while simultaneously undercutting conservatives who put them in power, a senior GOP aide told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
“House and Senate leadership has rolled over and played dead on border security. When it comes to a border wall, they say it is not our problem. When it comes to funding sanctuary cities, they say it is not our problem. What they are essentially saying is we are going to pass bills with more Democrats than Republicans,” the aide told TheDCNF. “This is a sign to administration that leadership doesn’t care what the White House wants. Even though GOP members ran on these issues. Conservatives mean it. The administration means it.”

The White House is arguably more serious about immigration policy than any other campaign promise President Donald Trump made in 2016.
Within his first few weeks in office, Trump signed an executive order in January 2017 to strip federal grants from cities that harbor illegal immigrants. A federal judge blocked the president’s move that November, arguing that the administration did not have the legal authority to cut funding that Congress had already appropriated. The battle between the administration and federal courts is still ongoing, but Congress has the means to end the debate, given that it has the “power of the purse.”

New Texts Reveal FBI's Peter Strzok Had Relationship With Recused Judge In Flynn Case
Recently discovered text messages - that were deliberately hidden from Congress - reveal that disgraced FBI employees Peter Strzok and Lisa Page conspired to meet with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) judge, Rudolph Contreras, who as we reported last December, "mysteriously recused" himself from handling the case against Michael Flynn, reports The Federalist, which has seen the text messages.
The text messages about Contreras between controversial Department of Justice lawyer Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the top Federal Bureau of Investigation counterintelligence official who was kicked off Robert Mueller’s special counsel team, were deliberately hidden from Congress, multiple congressional investigators told The Federalist. In the messages, Page and Strzok, who are rumored to have been engaged in an illicit romantic affair, discussed Strzok’s personal friendship with Contreras and how to leverage that relationship in ongoing counterintelligence matters. -The Federalist
“Rudy is on the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court]!” Page excitedly texted Strzok on July 25, 2016. “Did you know that? Just appointed two months ago.”
“I did,” Strzok responded. “I need to get together with him.”
“[He] said he’d gotten on a month or two ago at a graduation party we were both at.”
Contreras, appointed by President Obama on May 19, 2016, notably sat on the FISA court while the Trump team was under surveillance by the Obama administration.

Heroin Queenpin Arrested Running Massive Drug Ring—Turns Out She Was an NYPD Cop
A New York Police Department officer is now in jail after she was caught running a massive cross-country heroin trafficking ring, all while using her badge as a cover to keep police away from the operations.
The Drug Enforcement Administration began investigating NYPD Officer Yessenia Jimenez, 31, in January after they found the phone number of her boyfriend, Luis Soto, 33, on the cell phone of a narcotics trafficking suspect.
The investigation concluded that Jimenez and Soto were conducting a heroin trafficking operation that stemmed Mexico to New York. The New York Daily News reported that the pair was arrested this week after they made a trip to Massachusetts to meet with a heroin trafficker.
DEA, NYPD, and state police task force officers confronted Soto around 2 a.m. on Tuesday after he returned from the trip and was seen unloading bags from the trunk of his car, outside of the couple’s apartment building in the Soundview neighborhood in Bronx, New York.
Jimenez was sitting in the passenger seat of the car with a purse as her feet that contained $25,000 in cash and the Glock 9-mm gun issued to her from the NYPD—and paid for by taxpayers.

Hope for millions after life-saving AI is revealed that can diagnose prostate cancer as accurately as a doctor
Prostate cancer can be diagnosed by new AI just as accurately as any doctor potentially saving millions of lives, new research suggests.
Chinese scientists and doctors have developed an artificial intelligence system which they say can accurately diagnose and identify cancerous samples.
Experts say it could streamline and eliminate variation in cancer diagnosis and will be particularly useful in areas where there is a lack of trained pathologists.
It could also lead to prostate cancer diagnosis being automated in the future.

545 people are responsible for the mess, but they unite in a common con
(This column was originally published in the Orlando Sentinel on Feb. 3, 1984.)
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code. The Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy. the Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of 238 million- are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Bank because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.
I exclude all of the special interest and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.
No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Don't you see now the con game that is played on the people by the politicians? Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. they cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 235 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted - by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility.
I can't think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those people.

Woman Charged with Threat to Blow Up Brook Lane
MONTGOMERY COUNTY WOMAN CHARGED WITH THREATENING TO BLOW UP HAGERSTOWN BUILDING
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - A Deputy State Fire Marshal has arrested a Montgomery County woman after she threatened to blow up a building located at Brook Lane Health Services, 13121 Brook Lane, Hagerstown, MD.
On March 5, 2018, at approximately 5:00 pm, Kimberly Elouis Tapp (07/21/1986) of 8707 Plymouth Street, Apt 4, Silver Spring, Maryland, used her cell phone to contact Brook Lane Health Services to obtain information regarding her son, who is a patient at the facility. A nurse at the facility informed Ms. Tapp that they were unable to provide her information due to the circumstances surrounding her son's admission. The nurse stated Ms. Tapp became irate and made terroristic threats towards Brook Lane Health Services that included, "I'm going to "F" up the staff and come up there and blow the place up." Ms. Tapp had previously made threats towards her son's school in Montgomery County, which consisted of killing or injuring school staff and they were concerned she might come to the school with a weapon.
On March 6, 2018, the Office of the State Fire Marshal received the information regarding the threat. As a result of an investigation by the State Fire Marshal Bomb Squad and Montgomery County Police Department, Ms. Tapp was arrested on 3/16/2018 at approximately 11:30 am at Montgomery County Circuit Court, 50 Maple Avenue, Rockville, Maryland with the assistance of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.

Teacher Placed on Paid Leave for Questioning Walkout for Gun Control
Sacramento, California, teacher Julianne Benzel was placed on paid leave for questioning whether students for life would be allowed to walk out of class the way students for gun control were.
Her questions were viewed as “anti-abortion” by some, which resulted in complaints and, finally, in Benzel being placed on paid leave.
This all occurred the same week that students across the country walked out of classrooms for 17 minutes in a show of solidarity for gun control.
Fox News Insider quoted Benzel explaining her position: “[If schools] are going to allow one group of students to get up during class and walk out to protest one issue, would they still give the same courtesy to another group of students who wanted to get up and walk out to protest? And I used the example of abortion.”

Student Suspended for Refusing to Leave Class During Gun Control Walkout
A Hilliard, Ohio, senior was suspended for refusing to leave the classroom while the March 14 gun control walkout occurred.
The student, Jacob Shoemaker, wanted to remain in class at Hilliard Davidson High School as a way to keep from being ensnared in the political debate surrounding gun ownership.
The Associated Press reports the school district suspended Shoemaker for staying in the classroom. The district explained the suspension by explaining that “it’s responsible for students’ safety and they can’t be unsupervised.”
Two protests occurred Wednesday—one in support of gun control and one against the gun control movement. Shoemaker did not want to get involved with either side.

WINDED: Pelosi loses breath during short sentences, suffers brain freezes, repeats words
As speculation grows that Nancy Pelosi will not lead House Democrats after the fall election, it’s not hard to see why her colleagues want to replace her.
While addressing reporters on Thursday, Pelosi lost her breath during several short sentences, suffered more brain freezes and could be seen staring blankly at reporters, while also frequently repeating words.

UMBC becomes first No. 16 seed to beat No. 1 seed in beatdown of Virginia
UMBC made sports history on Friday night by becoming the first No. 16 seed to beat a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. The America East champions pulled off a shocking, 74-54 upset over No. 1 seed Virginia in South Region play.
The Retrievers (25-10) not only made history by beating a No. 1 seed — they also knocked off the top overall seed in the NCAA tournament in dominating fashion. Tied at the half, UMBC jumped out to a double-digit lead and maintained a comfortable cushion throughout the half by consistently knocking down three-pointers and keeping the pressure on.
Senior guard Jairus Lyle, the team’s hero with a buzzer-beater in the America East title game, finished with 28 points to pace the Retrievers. He went 9-for-11 from the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range. Joe Shurburne (14 points), Arkel Lamar (12 points) and K.J. Maura (10 points) also finished in double-figures for UMBC, as they extended its winning streak to six games

College lists 'God bless you' as a 'microaggression'
Telling a classmate “God bless you” after she sneezes is a “microaggression,” according to extensive social justice guidelines posted by a women’s college in Boston.
On its website, the Simmons College library lists six “anti-oppression” categories—“anti-racism,” “anti-transmisia,” “anti-ableism,” “anti-Islamomisia,” “anti-sanism” and “anti-queermisia”—with which students should be familiar.
“This guide is intended to provide some general information about anti-oppression, diversity, and inclusion as well as information and resources for the social justice issues key to the Simmons College community,” a description of the catalogue reads.
Under the “anti-Islamomisia” tab, students are warned that saying “God bless you” after a sneeze is to commit the microaggression, “Assumption of One’s Own Religious Identity as the Norm.”
Wishing someone “Merry Christmas” similarly “conveys one’s perception that everyone is Christian or believes in God.”

Holy Cross To ‘Retire’ Crusader As Mascot and In Logo
The College of the Holy Cross is getting rid of the Crusader as its mascot and its logo.
The announcement comes 39 days after the school announced it would keep Crusader as its nickname, after a trustees meeting called to consider ditching it.
“But our work was not done,” said Father Philip Boroughs, president of Holy Cross, in an email message to students, faculty, and alumni Wednesday. “At the same time, the Board tasked our administration with assessing all visual representations of the Crusader, to ensure they align with our definition of what it means to be a Holy Cross Crusader. That definition is based on a contemporary understanding of the term, which suggests a noble effort to support a cause, to right a wrong or to make a difference.”

Pruden: One last dance with Hillary
There’s scarcely a pundit, wise guy or blowhard at the end of the bar who hasn’t sworn off Hillary Clinton, vowing that it’s time to find something new to rant and rave about.
But Washington pundits on the make for a clever insight owe her at least a case of fine old 120-proof Russian vodka. She’s always worth a column or rant, if not today surely tomorrow. It’s a piece that writes itself, only Miss Hillary will write it for whoever is stumped for a start.
The candidate who would put the word “deplorables” in William Safire’s authoritative dictionary of politics, if there still was one, is always rewriting the history of minor and major disasters of her life in politics, someone forever failing to engage brain before opening mouth. H.L. Mencken could not have written more colorful invective, vilification or vituperation than her bitter shout-out to the many millions who didn’t vote for her in 2016.
“If you look at the map of the United States,” she told a wise-guy conference the other day in India, of all places, “there’s all that red in the middle where Trump won. I win the coasts, I win, you know, Illinois, Minnesota, places like that. But what the map doesn’t show you is that I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward.
“And his whole campaign, ‘Make America great again,’ was looking backward. You know,” she said, affecting to put words in the Donald’s mouth, “‘you didn’t like black people getting rights, you don’t like women, you know, getting jobs, you don’t want, you know, to see Indian Americans succeeding more than you are. Wherever your problem is, I’m gonna solve it.’”
This work of loose lips angers, and more to the point, terrifies sane and savvy Democrats who understand that inventing a tidal wave to carry the 2018 midterm congressional elections will be far more difficult than just counting the ballots and celebrating now. Beyond adding further insult to the “basket of deplorables,” she affronted women her party desperately needs in the new “year of the woman.” Particularly white folks. When a panelist in India asked her why a majority of white women voted Republican in 2016, she blamed it on men the color of Bubba.
“Part of that is an identification with the Republican Party and an ongoing pressure to vote the way your husband, your boss, your son, your boyfriend, whoever believes you should.”

Scalise Predicts Pelosi will be One of Dems' 'Biggest Impediments' in Midterms
House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) predicted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will be one of Democrats' "biggest impediments" in recapturing the majority in the lower chamber during midterm elections.
Republicans on the Hill this week have said Conor Lamb won in the Pennsylvania special election because he emphasized that he wouldn't vote for Pelosi in party leadership elections and also highlighted his personal positions that aligned closely with the GOP.
"You can look the special election of Pennsylvania and see a lot of things. One of the things we saw is both candidates run against Nancy Pelosi and run on conservative values like protecting the Second Amendment in being pro-life," Scalise told Bloomberg TV in an interview Thursday. "...So let's talk about how we actually hold the majority. And that is like continuing to focus on the things that we've done to get our economy back on track."

Md. bill would ‘retire’ state song that refers to Lincoln as ‘despot,’ spurns ‘Northern scum’
A majority of Maryland senators hope they’ve found a compromise to handle the state’s controversial state song: send it into retirement without erasing all recognition.
The Senate voted 30-13 to put “Maryland, My Maryland” on historic status and say its sensitive pre-Civil War references to “Northern scum” and a despotic President Abraham Lincoln don’t reflect Marylanders’ values today. The bill now goes to the House.
While it would no longer be the official state song, the measure doesn’t completely jettison it, either..

Teacher Placed on Leave for Asking if a Pro-Life Walkout Would Be Allowed
While pundits and the media applaud the legions of schoolkids who walked out of class on Wednesday, a teacher in California had a valid question. She wondered if protests of a different sort would receive the support of the school administration.
The teacher asked if it was appropriate for the school to have been providing support for a politically motivated protest, and if such support would be there for other causes.
Said history teacher Julianne Benzel:"I just kind of used the example ... a group of students nationwide, or even locally, decided ‘I want to walk out of school for 17 minutes’ and go in the quad area and protest abortion, would that be allowed by our administration."
If civic engagement and protest are good and noble things -- which we're hearing from schools in support of the student walkouts -- then they're good and noble things. If not, you're showing a preference for certain political positions over others.

Identity Politics Insanity
Perhaps nothing offers greater insight into the progressive mindset than what its adherents deem proper and improper expressions of identity politics.
Perhaps nothing offers greater insight into the progressive mindset than what its adherents deem proper and improper expressions of identity politics.
“Rachel Dolezal, the troubled former NAACP leader who claimed to be African-American, is the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary that’s already causing major backlash,” Fox Newsreports.
The Twitter-verse was rife with derogatory comments. “There are millions of black femmes and non-binary people in the world that deserve to be heard … and the fact that I have to see her name on my screen makes me so so so angry,” stated Lorazepam Grier. “Rachel Dolezal’s choice to play pretend in black culture has now destroyed the lives of two black children,” tweetedGeorge M. Johnson. “Hey @Netflix, Rachel Dolezal doesn’t need a documentary streamed on your site. She’s fraudulent and problematic. Why don’t you take all that money and put it towards projects made by real black women?” asks Breniecia.
Netflix isn’t paying Dolezal anything, but they remain the eye of the leftist storm for “giving the 40-year-old a spotlight with a film that explores how she portrayed herself as African-American for years, despite being born biologically white,” Fox explains.

The American Man in Crisis
What has and will become of America's men? Nothing good if current trends continue.
We live in a time when feminists are bemoaning that America has devolved into a misogynist dystopia like “The Handmaid’s Tale,” and when Hollywood and the political scene are overrun with #MeToo moments of sexual abuse. Men, guilty of “toxic masculinity,” are villains preying upon women and stripping them of their rights. Yet women are more empowered and “equal” than ever. Now the question is, what has and will become of America’s men? Nothing good if current trends continue.
Michael Ian Black, a comedian and actor, recently wrote in a New York Times op-ed:
The past 50 years have redefined what it means to be female in America. Girls today are told that they can do anything, be anyone. They’ve absorbed the message: They’re outperforming boys in school at every level. But it isn’t just about performance. To be a girl today is to be the beneficiary of decades of conversation about the complexities of womanhood, its many forms and expressions.
Boys, though, have been left behind. No commensurate movement has emerged to help them navigate toward a full expression of their gender. It’s no longer enough to “be a man” — we no longer even know what that means.

Bruce Jenner Lectures on the Hardships of Womanhood
CNN celebrates its "wokeness" on International Women's Day by including some "mansplaining."
Last Thursday was International Women’s Day, so what better way to celebrate and recognize the occasion than to have a man explain how difficult life is for women? Evidently, those “woke” folks at CNN thought that was fitting and trotted out gender dysphoric Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner to pontificate on his experiences being a “woman.” Any other man would be guilty of “mansplaining.” “My path to womanhood was very different,” Jenner opined, ignoring the fact that he is not a woman. Jenner then blamed society for treating women as “second-class citizens” and for conditioning them to be “emotionally weaker, physically weaker.”
The cognitive dissonance on display in the CNN interview has sadly become the norm across much of America’s mainstream media culture. Not only are cultural practices based upon innate understandings of gender differences actively condemned, biological facts discovered by sound scientific research are ignorantly maligned and rejected as part of the “patriarchy.” Sound thought is replaced with flawed narratives about the right to absolute autonomy of self-identity.

Make Daylight Great Again
Marco Rubio introduced legislation to banish the scourge of the time change forever.
If Marco Rubio had proposed this during the 2016 campaign, he might be president. The Florida Republican senator introduced legislation this week to allow the nation to remain on Daylight Saving Time all year round — the “Sunshine Protection Act.” A companion measure, the “Sunshine State Act,” would at least let Florida keep the same time all year, though it would leave the rest of us in the dark during the winter. Dear senators: Pass the national bill.
There might not be another issue on which so many Americans agree — we all hate the biannual time change. Acclimating to a new daylight schedule every March and again every November probably ranks among our least favorite things. That’s exponentially true if you’re raising kids. (Can we get an “amen”?) Totally disrupting the space-time continuum twice a year leads to sloppy work by sleepy people, car accidents and other injuries, hordes of zombie children and a drastic increase in swearing. No rational human wants that to continue.
Now, of course there’s going to be disagreement over which time should become standard, but if you would rather stay on “standard” time, you’re obviously wrong. And probably a communist. Yes, if we remain on daylight time, mornings can be awfully dark in the middle of winter. But at least it wouldn’t be dark by 4:00 in the afternoon, which leads to all manner of woe, depression and socialist statism — especially among Yankees. Conversely, if we were forced to live the rest of our lives on “standard” time (a hilarious misnomer at present, given that “standard” time reigns for all of four months a year), mornings might be a little brighter in winter, but the sun would come up at ungodly hours in the summer. That would completely waste hours of useful light as people sleep in — or force people out of bed with kids who rise with the sun at 5:00 in the morning — while robbing us of the pure delight of summer evenings. You might as well outlaw puppies, swimming pools and summer grilling while you’re at it. Communist.

Ex-FBI Asst. Director Says Upcoming Inspector General Report Is "Pure TNT"
Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker said today that a highly anticipated report from the DOJ's Inspector General Michael Horowitz will contain "some pure TNT." Horowitz has been investigating the conduct of the FBI's top brass surrounding the 2016 election for over a year. He also uncovered over 50,000 text messages between two anti-Trump / pro-Clinton FBI employees directly involved in the exoneration of Clinton and the counterintelligence operation launched against the Trump campaign.
Swecker: “The behavior if it’s manifested in the action with your thumb on the scale of a particular investigation, one way or the other, that’s borderline criminal behavior — manipulating an investigation. I think this IG report is going to be particularly impactful, more so than any of these useless congressional investigations. I think you’re going to see some pure TNT come out in this IG report.”

Hillary Tells India How Awful Americans Are
She claims she would have won if not for racist misogynists holding women back...
If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Hillary Clinton it’s that she hasn’t learned anything. Throughout 2017, she blamed anyone and everyone but herself for her election loss to Donald Trump. Here are three notable examples: blame the Russians, blame misogyny, blame everyone else. And now in 2018, apparently she is not done.
Now she is doubling down on her arrogant “basket of deplorables” assessment from September 2016. “To just be grossly generalistic,” she said then, “you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right? The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic — you name it.”
This time, speaking to a foreign audience in Mumbai for an undisclosed fee, she drug millions of Americans through the mud again. (The Resurgent’s Marc Giller hilariously called her pity party “poutsourcing.”) For starters, she asserted, Democrats “do not do well with white men and we don’t do well with married white women.” That’s because women face “ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.” (In other words, white men and women are just too stupid to vote for Democrats.)

Protecting Our Communities
Once again this year, legislation has been introduced to make Maryland a sanctuary state. Under this legislation, when state or local law enforcement have someone in custody who is an illegal immigrant, they would be prohibited from contacting federal authorities, even if those individuals had immigration detainers. Last year, this bill was called the "Trust Act", and it passed the House but failed in the Senate. This year, the bill is called the "Safe Act" and had a hearing in the House this week. No matter what its deceptive title would lead you two believe, this bill has one aim: to make Maryland a sanctuary state. Our members will continue to fight the passage of this bill.
Our members have cosponsored HB 1308 - Keep Our Communities Safe Act of 2018. This bill requires State or local correctional facilities to transfer to federal authorities any illegal immigrants serving sentences in the facility. Data shows that 63% of Marylanders favor transferring illegal immigrants into federal custody if they have committed crimes. Substantial majorities in the Baltimore suburbs (66%), Eastern Shore (78%), and Western Maryland (78%) favor this policy. Majorities in Baltimore City (51%) and the Washington suburbs (53%) also support this transfer. HB 1308 is common sense legislation that gives the people what they want; protection from criminals.

In a display of just how dumbed down American students’ civic awareness has become, thousands of students across America walked out of their schools Wednesday, using their First Amendment rights to protest against Second Amendment rights. The Leftmedia coverage has been fawning, to say the least. These kids are viewed with reverence as sages possessing moral authority that cannot be questioned. By contrast, little attention is given to the students who didnot walk out, or gathered to show support for our constitutional rights. Spurred on by leftists, however, student protesters are being used as pawns in a play designed to shame conservative lawmakers for not creating more laws to limit the Second Amendment.
A string of Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders, addressed the crowd of students in DC, which speaks volumes about the political agenda. But remember: Democrats don’t care about children unless they can serve the leftist agenda.
Not that students are admitting it. “It’s not Republican or Democrat; it’s about keeping people safe,” said a 16-year-old student from Manhattan. “We know what we want from our society: to have less guns and, at some point, no guns at all.”
There you go — safe spaces and gun confiscation. Unfortunately for this naive young lady, those two are mutually exclusive. Liberty isn’t defended with a smart phone and poster-board sign.

Keeping our Children Safe: Repeat Sexual Predator Prevention Act Moves Forward
Legislation targeting repeat sexual predators has stalled in the House of Delegates. House Bills 301 and 353, commonly known as the Repeat Sexual Predator Prevention Act, are bills that would, during prosecution for sexual offenses, allow a court to admit evidence of a defendant’s prior history of sexual crimes or abuse. The House Bills and their Senate companions have bipartisan support with more than 120 sponsors, and House Bill 353 is a cornerstone of Governor Hogan’s public safety initiatives.
This legislation has been before the General Assembly 14 times. It passed the Senate in 2016, but has never come to the full House for a vote. This bill protects our children and our communities from the most abhorrent offenders in our society. Our members firmly believe the time for delay is over. With an important legislative deadline coming on March 19th, and after fourteen years of failure, this is a time for action.
On Tuesday our Caucus sent a letter to the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, notifying him of our intentions to petition the bill to the floor of the house if it is not brought up for a vote by Friday. Petitioning a bill from Committee is an extraordinary step, but this legislation is too important to leave languishing. The follow day, the media reported the Chairman intended to move the bill.
On Thursday afternoon, the House Judiciary Committee UNANIMOUSLYapproved the legislation and it will soon come to the floor for final vote. The journey isn't over yet, but the passage of this bill is closer than it has ever been!

President Trump's lawyers say in court papers that Stormy Daniels could be liable for $20 million in damages for violating a nondisclosure pact
President Trump, weighing in directly on the Stephanie Clifford case for the first time, claimed in court papers filed by his lawyers on Friday that the porn actress who alleges she had an affair with him violated a confidentiality agreement at least 20 times, exposing her to damages of at least $20 million.
LEGENDARY COMMENTS BY GEORGE CHEVALLIER
We have in Salisbury a gem of history in the Rockawalkin School. It sits on the corner of Pemberton Drive and Ellegood Street at the Pemberton Elementary School. It originally sat on the northeast corner of Route 349 (Nanticoke Road) and Rockawalkin Road. The original piece of land for it was bought in 1869 from Ann and Christopher Columbus Fooks and Hugh Ellingsworth. The school was built about three years later for the community of Rockawalkin. It housed children in grades one through seven.
The inside of the school house is as close to a 19th Century one-room school house as you can get. The teacher’s desk, the pot-bellied stove with its accompanying coal bucket, the small to mid-sized desks with their period ink wells and the books are all reminiscent of a time long ago. There are many things on display that would have been used by the children of a long ago era. The crayons, pencil boxes, individual slate boards remind us that things were not always as easy as they are now. The pull down map in the front of the classroom shows the world prior to the First World War.
It really takes you back in time just to be in the school house. A teacher at Pemberton Elementary School, Melba Klepner, takes her class through the building every year and, to my knowledge, that is the extent of visitors annually. Two years ago, the Wicomico Historical Society opened it up on the weekend they held the Winefest at Pemberton Park that had an attendance of about 7,000. The school house is on the way to Pemberton, and we had ample signage out front advertising that the school was open. In ten hours over two days, exactly 12 people stopped by to visit.
The Rockawalkin School is owned by the Wicomico Historical Society, and the maintenance is furnished by the Board of Education. Extensive upkeep is required to maintain such an historic structure and it has recently had new windows installed, been painted, had ventilation windows installed in the foundation, a floor installed in the back room and an application of boiled linseed oil applied to the cedar shingles on the roof to make them lie flat. It is in superb shape, and anyone can see it by contacting me. I will open it up anytime for anyone.
It hasn’t been used as a school since June, 1938. For awhile it was the store and gas station of Leonard and Annalee Johnson. When they ceased commercial operations, they deeded it to the Wicomico Historical Society and the Board of Education. It was moved to its present location and has been there since 1973.
One thing that had to give way to the present was the two “little houses” out back. Since the school was built long before indoor plumbing was the acceptable norm, the two outhouses were for the convenience of the boys and girls who attended the school.
Most of the children walked to and from school. In this modern age, of the 14,500 students attending schools in Wicomico County, 12,500 of them are bused in some form or another. The maintenance of the school was the responsibility of the only teacher in the school. She had one of the larger boys come in early in the winter to fire up the coal stove, and other children stayed after school to sweep up and clean the blackboards. The coal stove was also used at lunch to heat up soup or chocolate to go along with whatever else the children brought from home. A full-service cafeteria was many years away.

ICE operation in San Diego/Imperial counties results in 115 arrests
SAN DIEGO – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation officers arrested 115 individuals for violating federal immigration laws in the San Diego and Imperial counties during a three-day targeted enforcement operation that ended Thursday. Fifty of the immigration violators arrested were convicted criminals and seven others illegally re-entered the U.S. after removal. All but seven of the arrests took place in San Diego County. Seven others had re-entered the United States after being removed on the basis of an Immigration Judge’s final order of removal. Depending on the alien’s criminal history, an alien who illegally reenters the United States, after having been previously removed, has committed a felony punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison.
“This week’s operation targeted public safety threats, such as convicted criminal aliens, individuals with final orders of removal, those who illegally re-entered the country after being removed, and individuals who have otherwise violated our nation’s immigration law,” said Greg Archambeault, field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in San Diego. “Operations like this reflect the vital work ERO officers do every day to protect the nation, uphold public safety and protect the integrity of our immigration laws and border controls. We will continue to conduct similar operations, while seeking to ultimately deport at-large criminal targets and other immigration fugitives who pose a threat to public safety.”
The arrests include:
A 43-year-old Mexican national and Center Street Locos gang member in Oceanside, California, who had previously been removed from the U.S. on four prior occasions. He has multiple criminal convictions, including grand theft, controlled substance for sale and driving under the influence.
A 55-year-old citizen of Kazakhstan who is wanted by authorities in Kazakhstan for alleged tax evasion and embezzlement. He was taken into ICE custody at his Oceanside residence Tuesday pursuant to a “Red Notice” arrest warrant issued by Interpol in September.
A 52-year-old citizen of Mexico sentenced to 30-months in federal prison in 2009 after being convicted of illegal re-entry after deportation. He has three criminal convictions for spousal abuse, including battery, inflicting injury and threatening to terrorize, and was ordered removed by an immigration judge in 1998. He had previously been removed from the U.S. to Mexico on 10 prior occasions.
Four of the individuals arrested during this operation will face federal criminal prosecution for illegal re-entry after deportation. The arrestees who are not being federally prosecuted will be processed administratively for removal from the United States. Those who have outstanding orders of removal, or who returned to the United States illegally after being deported, are subject to immediate removal from the country. The remaining individuals are in ICE custody awaiting a hearing before an immigration judge, or pending travel arrangements for removal in the near future.

Cracks on a new pedestrian bridge near Miami were reported on a voicemail two days before the walkway collapsed, state officials said
The report, by the lead engineer with the company in charge of the bridge’s design, was made in a voice mail message for a Florida Department of Transportation employee. That employee was out of the office, however, and did not receive it until Friday, a day after the collapse.
Why More Men Than Ever View Marriage as a Bad Deal
In your great grandparents’ heyday, most women were stay-at-home moms and uneducated men, who made up the majority of men back then, were able to support themselves, a wife and their kids by working hard at what we’d today consider to be menial jobs. Back then, relationships were more about raising a family and making a living than love. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t any love involved; it just means the motivations was often a little different than it is today. Women wanted to get out of the house and have kids. When a woman found a man who treated her well and seemed like he could provide for her and her children, that was often enough of a foundation to build a marriage on. After all, the country was much poorer then; so her parents couldn’t necessarily support her and she didn’t have a lot of job options. A husband was the best financial option most women had back then.
It’s a plus that women have made strides in education and the work place and now, most ladies don’t NEED a guy to take care of them. If you have a daughter, this is a good thing. You wouldn’t want your little girl trapped in a lousy relationship someday because she can’t possibly take care of herself. However, there have been negative consequences to that as well. Since many women can take care of themselves and those that can’t have the federal government helping them, they don’t NEED a man to take care of them financially. Combine this with the fact that financial opportunities for uneducated and unskilled men are dramatically reduced from pre-shipping container/pre-computer age and marriage has been forever changed. That male dockworker can no longer support a family by himself and even if the female executive were to marry him (and she probably wouldn’t because he has less status than her), the marriage would be far less stable because financial need wouldn’t hold them together.
Divorce also happened much less frequently in the past. Not only was it a little scandalous to get divorced, you didn’t have big daddy government stepping in to pay the woman’s bills if a woman decided to go her own way. Consider that, “the 1967 crude (divorce) rate was 8.7 times as large as that for 1867” and it becomes obvious that marriage meant a lot more to previous generations of Americans.
