Salisbury Maryland Mayor Jake Day To Take An Extensive Leave Of Absence

While Day more then likely knew this was coming he withheld the information from the public because he wanted to lock in his re-election as Mayor. However, Jake is going to be deployed for NINE months to a YEAR, someone needs to make coffee for the Rangers.

Now the Liberals will come back here saying he is serving his country, that's a great thing, I agree. However, his service to his community should come first. He should be fired immediately.
In fact, today is Alison Pulcher's last day. She was the City's Deputy City Administrator Jake hired just over one year ago. Apparently the cat fights between her and Julia Glanz was too much to handle.

So the Mayors Office is a mess and soon enough Salisbury won't even have a Mayor. It's a shame Jake Day continues to hide this fact from the public and in my opinion the public should be pissed off that this guy covered it up.

If you think this is good, wait till my next big story, because this is NOTHING in comparison!

  1. You are spot on about Alison and Julia. Although sby does and never has needed two “deputies” Alison is smart. Julia felt threatened. If Julia lost her job then what would dear Lindsey do??!!

  6. What does the City Charter say about extended leave? I’m glad he’s serving in an active duty status and support our military. However, if he knew, he should have disclosed to the voters during the filing period as a matter of transparency and honesty. As an elected official I feel he has acted in immature and impulsive ways that have not served city residents or municipal employees well. Maybe deployment will provide a framework for him to grow and improve his leadership abilities.

You seriously need to look up the law before running your mouth, there is laws that protect a job of an enlisted reservist such as Jake (Gay) Day... They know at any giving time they could be deployed or sent to do some humanitarian aid stuff like in Hawaii, and when they have to go do their job for a week or a month or whatever that time frame is... They are protected by law that they cannot be fired for just being deployed, now if you are saying fire him for being an incompetent boob, well then I agree whole heatedly...

You are joking right? Either joking or you are very very unsophisticated and need to get off the shore once in awhile so you know what is going on in the real world. It is very clear Day can't run Salisbury when he's right smack in the middle of it much less on "a cell phone." Can't even believe someone is so stupid to say such a thing. It's amazing how you people are living under rocks. Sby is the smelly Crotch of the Eastern Shore. It stinks, it's dirty, poverty and unemployment are prevalent. Home ownership is well on it's way to being extinct. The blight is overwhelming and commercial vacancies telling. But in your mind this is great and Day's done a good job. See the problem with you people since you are so extremely unsophisticated you don't have any standards and nothing to go on so you think Day is great and Sby is wonderful.

  17. 8:46, I think some of you do not understand the point. Did Jake Day know in advance that he was going to be deployed? Considering the election hasn't happened yet, he should resign his post OR the taxpayers should vote to fire him in whatever means necessary through a legal process.

Now keep in mind, ALL OF YOU reading this. It is Salisbury News that has exposed this information and NOT ANY of your other local media sources. Jake could've gone to the media first to expose this information and he did NOT.

In my opinion he covered it up from the public. A vote of no confidence is in order. Then you have to ask yourselves, no matter what happens, WHO WILL BE IN CHARGE for the next year, the Council President? This is why it is so important for good people to run for office and or VOTE. However, considering Salisbury has a bogus registered voter list and the mass majority of Salisbury residents are RENTERS who generally do NOT register, you're screwed.

Again, it was your election to lose. Some said on another post, just imagine all the scam Joe Albero would've created if he had been elected. Now that's funny! The election was rigged because the Good Ol' Boys knew I would've crushed them all. The games would be over and the City would be run like a fine tuned machine.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Let me clarify that for you. ANYBODY could run Salisbury with a cell phone from anywhere on the planet.

  21. Okay, let me put my two cents in reference the cell phone. There were places my son was located for the military that he was not permitted to communicate at home due to their safety.
Also, a friend was stationed around the world and could not say where he was until he got back (both within the past four years). So forget about running the town from elsewhere with a phone. So far it has not been good with him here, maybe it will be good to have a break from the good mayor.

This^^ is either Julia or Lindsey. I agree that she is/was grossly underqualified for Deputy City Administrator and so is Andy Kitzrow. Andy was in charge of Kidz Club for the County Parks and Recs. That does not qualify him to be one of the highest-ranking employees in a city this size.

Another grossly underqualified employ is YOU, Julia Glanz. Her previous employment was being a community organizer, not a qualified manager.

Jake Day is another grossly underqualified mayor who is leading a city this size. Actually, he is running it into the ground. When his circle of friends includes Mike Dunn, what do you expect.

This is how delusional this boy-mayor is.

Jacob Day - Good paying jobs are great. Can’t disagree with you there! You can never have too many jobs or too high wages, but the BLS and DLLR stats tell us that’s not our issue locally. Wages for jobs advertised right now are far higher than median wages, and wage growth is outpacing rent and home price growth (although those are both rising as well). We are still looking at a need to attract more talent (even though we are the fastest-growing city in Maryland).

    Maryland - 1 in every 984
    Illinois - 1 in every 1176
    Connecticut - 1 in every 1230

Short Sales and foreclosures in Salisbury and Wicomico County make up 8.9% of available residential properties. Of the 831 homes for sale 34 of them are in foreclosure.
