When I reported earlier this year on the 58 scientific papers published in 2017 that say global warming is a myth the greenies’ heads exploded.
Since then, that figure has risen to 400 scientific papers.
Can you imagine the misery and consternation and horror this is going to cause in the corrupt, rancid, rent-seeking world of the Climate Industrial Complex?
I can. It will look something like this.
Just to be clear, so the greenies can’t bleat about being misrepresented, here is what these various papers say:

Ted Cruz Endorses Roy Moore
In a statement released Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced he was endorsing former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore in his race for U.S. Senate.
Cruz said the country “desperately needed” Moore in Washington, D.C. to “stand up to the status quo.”
“This December, the People of Alabama have a clear choice,” Cruz said in a statement. “They can choose a liberal Democrat, who will stand with Chuck Schumer to raise taxes, weaken our military, open our border, and undermine our constitutional rights. Or, they can choose to elect Judge Roy Moore, a conservative who will proudly defend Alabama values.”

PragerU Sues YouTube and Google over Alleged Censorship of Conservatives
PragerU, the conservative digital media organization from Dennis Prager, is suing YouTube and its parent Google over alleged censorship of their videos.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the lawsuit, which was filed on Monday, “says YouTube’s more than 30 million visitors a day make the site so elemental to free speech in the digital age that it should be treated as a public forum.”
“The suit argues the site must use the ‘laws governing free speech,’ not its own discretion, to make decisions about what to censor,” they reported, adding that PragerU “alleges that by limiting access to some of its videos without clear criteria YouTube is infringing on PragerU’s First Amendment rights.”
YouTube has repeatedly censored PragerU on their platform, labeling political videos as “restricted” adult content and even removing a video of “a Muslim man describing how he was raised to be anti-Semitic,” branding the video as “hate speech.”

PETITION: CNN must file as a Dem super PAC
Friend,
Enough! CNN is NOT “news.” It’s a billion-dollar Democrat super PAC tasked with running anti-Trump hit pieces and propping up liberal candidates.
We can no longer let CNN get away with deceiving American citizens with 24/7 campaign ads disguised as “news.”
For far too long, I’ve watched Republicans roll over like cowards when the fake news media call them names, twist their words, and downright lie about them.
But things are different with President Donald J. Trump. Not only has he been the target of more vicious attacks than ANY Republican in history, but he NEVER lets the media win.
They’ve defamed him and stooped so low as to shamelessly attack our First Lady, but you can guarantee that President Trump will always fight back.
He doesn’t want their praise, and he knows he’ll never get it. The only praise he cares about is yours, Friend.
But now he needs your help fighting back against the rising threat from the real opposition party: the FAKE NEWS MEDIA.
While the DNC and other Democrat super PACs have to register with the FEC and brand themselves as campaign organizations, the multi-billion-dollar-CNN machine is FAR more effective and masks itself as “news.”
It’s time for CNN to officially be classified as what it truly is: A DEMOCRAT SUPER PAC.
A Viewer Writes: I guess the silence was too deafening to CNN..
....they finally have it on their site as "breaking news" after Fox had it for a few days.

The Origin of the Left’s Discontent
By Joe David
America is collapsing on almost every crucial level. Our great universities, which were once a fortress of reason, are shamelessly responsible by producing men and women hell-bent on destroying our free nation.
In the last decade especially, corruption has become so widespread in America that many citizens accept it as the norm. This collapse of law and order didn’t occur overnight, even though it is fashionable to think so by blaming it on the Trump administration. It began years ago when educators systematically began to encourage student disrespect toward America by romanticizing globalism.
The anarchy that I predicted in the 80s in my nationally acclaimed novel The Fire Within has today become a reality. Many of the schemes to break down societal order, first tested and perfected in inner-city schools, have spread throughout the public school system, and into our great universities. This has left many parents bewildered and searching for an explanation. The excuses often echoed by prominent educators and publications like Education Week are almost always the same with parental neglect, stagnant school spending, lack of diversity, and even racism usually getting top listing.
Rarely are educators heard sharing the real reasons for the problem. Those credentialed men and women who have the knowledge and the willingness to shed light on what’s happening are not being allowed to speak out publicly. Whatever crucial information that they may have to share is silenced by disagreeable students and the endless blast of denial and propaganda from the mainstream media. Our great universities, which have the skill to unite the country, are working hand-in-hand with the media to divide it.

An ecologist speaks for the silent giants: Old-growth trees
The vista from the steps of Arlington House offers one of the most spectacular views of Washington. The scene unfurls, from the sloping lawns of Arlington National Cemetery to Memorial Bridge to the Lincoln Memorial and on to the Mall. The architectural geometry is leavened by the snaking Potomac River.
But I have huffed and puffed my way up to this high ground to see something more ancient and, in its own way, defining of the nation’s history. Joan Maloof is waiting to show me the other side of the mansion, a pocket of forest known as the Arlington Woods. Only 12 acres remain of what was once a sylvan 600 acres, part of the 1,100-acre estate owned by G.W.P. Custis, the adopted grandson of George Washington (and father-in-law of Robert E. Lee).
Entering the woodland is tricky; there are no easy trails, and we have to leap across a drainage swale. But once we are in the heart of this forested dell, the sounds of the riding mowers and the tour trams and even the passenger jets are muted. They are replaced with shrieks of blue jays and the white-noise rustle of the wind through the leaves. Maloof, who is 61 and trim, with piercing slate-blue eyes, seems to both relax and come alive in this place. She blithely clambers onto a huge fallen trunk and uses it as a pixie perch to look up to the forest’s light-filtering canopy.

White privilege bolstered by teaching math, university professor says
A math education professor at the University of Illinois says the ability to solve geometry and algebra problems and teaching such subjects perpetuates so-called white privilege.
Rochelle Gutierrez laid out her views on the subject in an article for a newly published anthology for math educators titled, “Building Support for Scholarly Practices in Mathematics Methods.”
“School mathematics curricula emphasizing terms like Pythagorean Theorem and pi perpetuate a perception that mathematics was largely developed by Greeks and other Europeans," she says, according to Campus Reform.
She also says that addressing equity in mathematics education will come when teachers can understand and negotiate the politics outside the classroom.
“On many levels, mathematics itself operates as whiteness. Who gets credit for doing and developing mathematics, who is capable in mathematics, and who is seen as part of the mathematical community is generally viewed as white,” she writes.

Supreme Court kills Hawaii's case against Trump refugee ban after executive order expires
The Supreme Court on Tuesday formally scrapped Hawaii's challenge to President Trump's 120-day refugee ban after the executive order expired.
Trump's March executive order halted decisions on refugee applications for 120 days. Trump changed the effective date of the order implementing the refugee ban as the legal fight over the executive order moved forward in the courts.
The Supreme Court previously eliminated oral arguments over the travel ban litigation from its calendar and ruled Trump v. International Refugee Assistance Project moot after the 90-day travel ban expired last month.
Following the expiration of Trump's refugee ban on Tuesday, the high court ruled Hawaii v. Trump moot, too. The justices also vacated lower court rulings over the refugee ban and sent the case back to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Clinton campaign, DNC helped fund infamous Trump dossier
Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee reportedly hired the firm that assembled the infamous dossier that included salacious allegations about now-President Trump.
A lawyer who represented the campaign retained the Washington research firm Fusion GPS, which then hired a former British intelligence officer to dig up the unconfirmed dirt on Trump, according to The Washington Post.
The firm Fusion GPS had originally been funded by a still unknown GOP consultant firm during the combative 2016 GOP primary.
Clinton lawyer Marc E. Elias retained the firm in April 2016 and continued to fund the work until just days before the presidential election, the paper said.

OFFICIALLY REGISTERED COLLEGE SOCIALIST GROUP OPENLY CALLS FOR MURDER OF CAPITALISTS, INCLUDING PRESIDENT TRUMP – SCHOOL IGNORES THE CALLS FOR VIOLENCE
In yet another shocking example of the violent rhetoric coming from the hard-left, a socialist student group at Iowa State University has used their social media account to threaten to murder conservatives.
The threats have come in a series of Tweets that have left many horrified over the calls for violence. Amazingly, the school itself has claimed that calling for murder is “protected free speech.”
In one recent Tweet the group, Young Democratic Socialists of America, (YDSA) publicly calls for exterminating what amounts to tens of millions of Americans.
“The left has done a good job radicalizing juggalos, weebs, furries, but I will not rest until ‘hXc’ stands for hang+Xterminate capitalists,” the school administration backed group declared before eventually deleting the Tweet.
As Campus Reform noted, after the students brought the tweet to the attention of the university, they were told that this “falls under free speech” while being offered “resources” if the student felt threatened by a literal call for extermination. That’s right, school officials are defending this groups right to call for us to be murdered. Can you imagine if the roles were reversed?!

73-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED, CHARGED WITH FELONIES FOR MAKING MOONSHINE AT HOME
Jonesville, VA — Last week, the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission arrested a 73-year-old man for producing and selling moonshine.
Though “moonshine” conjures 1920s prohibition-era images of dangerously potent liquor brewed in bathtubs, the term simply refers to liquor produced without a license or unaged whiskey.
Winston Delano Terry of Jonesville, Virginia, now faces felony and misdemeanor charges following a four-month investigation that ultimately yielded 67 gallons of moonshine and 22 guns after authorities obtained a warrant to search his home.
The government insists moonshine is a threat to public safety, a claim bolstered by the fact that homemade liquor is more likely to have lead in it. As Slate has pointed out, “there’s no inspection of the manufacturing process, so quality — and levels of contamination — vary.” Even so, drinking moonshine is hardly a greater threat to the public than “legal” alcohol.
“Aside from drinking too much and doing something dumb — oh, like attacking somebody with a chain saw and fire extinguisher — the biggest risk is lead poisoning, since a homemade still might consist of car radiators or pipes that were dangerously soldered together,” Slate noted.
In other words, the greatest danger of moonshine is to the person who chooses to consume it, as with most other drugs — legal or not. Though authorities may insist they are doing a public service (NBC Washington reported that “ABC’s chief operating officer said the charges against Terry help protect public safety”), the primary reason moonshine is illegal is far less altruistic.
As Slate explained:

Clergy as Front Lines: 5th Annual Interfaith Domestic Violence Education Conference
Annapolis, MD - The Interfaith Domestic Violence Coalition and the Governor's Office of Community Initiatives will host the 5th Annual Interfaith Domestic Violence Conference to unite faith based leaders against domestic violence. This event aims to ensure that every clergy person of every religion and denomination have a clear understanding of the unique dynamics of domestic violence which impact women, children, families and communities, while educating them on the extensive community resources available for domestic violence victims. This conference will also feature a video presentation by One Love Foundation and provide information and resources to spark life-changing conversations and understanding that can transform families, strengthen our communities, and assist the vulnerable among us.
Clergy are in a unique position. For many victims of domestic violence, the first person they reach out to is their faith leader. This clergy person's initial reaction and words play a crucial role in determining the next steps a victim will take - will they return home to, possibly, a life threatening situation, or will they seek out community resources and others who can offer assistance?

Reaper ‘botnet’ could bring down the internet
A MASSIVE botnet that has been gathering steam over the past few weeks is threatening to ravage the web, security researchers have warned.
A botnet uses collections of devices like wifi routers or smart webcams which have been hacked to collaboratively send surges of data to servers - causing them crash, disrupt services and ultimately go offline.
Around this time last year, a similar attack called the Mirai botnet wiped out the internet across the US, targeting mostly the East Coast.
But Israeli security researchers at Check Point have discovered what they described as an entirely new and more sophisticated botnet that could cause a "cyber hurricane".
A blog post published on Check Point Research read: "So far we estimate over a million organisations have already been affected worldwide, including the US, Australia and everywhere in between, and the number is only increasing.
"Our research suggests we are now experiencing the calm before an even more powerful storm.

Ron Paul: Trump's Fed Picks? More Of The Same!
All of president’s potential picks likely to continue unprecedented money creation and low interest rates, he says
This week President Trump revealed his final five candidates for Federal Reserve chair. Disappointingly, but not surprisingly, all five have strong ties to the financial and political establishment.
The leading candidates are former Federal Reserve governor and Morgan Stanley banker Kevin Warsh and current Fed governor, former investment banker, Carlyle Group partner, and George H.W. Bush administration official Jerome Powell. Gary Cohn, current director of the president’s National Economic Council and former president of Goldman Sachs, is also on Trump’s list.
Trump is also considering reappointing Janet Yellen, even though when he was running for president he repeatedly criticized her for pursuing policies harmful to the middle class. Of course candidate Trump also promised to support Audit the Fed and even voiced support for returning to the gold standard. But, he has not even uttered the words “Audit the Fed,” or talked about any changes to monetary policy, since the election.

Surabian: 'We’re Witnessing the Meltdown of the McConnell Industrial Complex'
Andrew Surabian, senior adviser to the Great America Alliance spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Raheem Kassam on Monday regarding Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s claim that Steve Bannon and others are “specialists in nominating people that lose.”
Surabian blasted McConnell as “the opposite of a fighter,” adding, “that’s why he hasn’t been able to pass any of the Trump agenda through the Senate. So, that’s number one.”
He continued, “No Senate candidate across the country wants to be associated with Mitch McConnell. Then you have to ask the question, why do these candidates not want to be publicly associated with Mitch McConnell and the reason is because they all know Mitch McConnell is an albatross on their campaigns in the primaries and in the general election.”
Mitch McConnell is the most disliked national political figure in the country,” said Surabian. He then went on to point out a number of McConnell’s handpicked candidates who have lost elections in recent years.

NFL Teams Play Before Empty Stadiums As Fan Backlash Spreads
It’s not necessarily news, that no one watches the Cleveland Browns. After all, Cleveland has lost 22 of their last 23 games and seems determined to set new marks for organizational futility. So the fact that the Browns can’t draw flies, shouldn’t necessarily cause alarm bells to go off.
However, because emptying stadiums seems to be the one thing the Browns do well, let’s give them their due by showing the “crowd” that assembled in Cleveland for the Browns-Titans game this Sunday:

Mueller Probe Targets Democrat Lobbying Firm Podesta Group
Tony Podesta and his lobbying firm the Podesta Group are under federal investigation by FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller in connection with the Russia investigation, three sources told NBC News.
The firm, co-founded by Hillary Clinton's campaign manager John Podesta, was subpoenaed in late August along with three other public relations firms who worked with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort during a 2012-2014 lobbying effort for a pro-Ukraine think tank - the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU) - tied to former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.
Yanukovych fled from Ukraine to Russia after he was unseated in a 2014 coup.
Two of the subpoenaed firms include Paul Manafort's Mercury, LLC and the Podesta Group, founded by John and Tony Podesta and operated by the latter.
Manafort’s firm earned $17 million between 2012 – 2014 consulting for Yanukovych’s centrist, pro-Russia ‘Party of Regions.’ During the same period, Manafort oversaw a lobbying campaign for the pro-Russia “Centre for a Modern Ukraine,” a Brussels based think tank linked to Yanukovych which was pushing for Ukraine’s entry into the European Union.
The Podesta group, operating under Manafort, earned over $1.2 million as part of that effort.
In a statement to NBC, a spokesman for the Podesta Group said the firm "is cooperating fully with the Special Counsel's office and has taken every possible step to provide documentation that confirms timely compliance. In all of our client engagements, the Podesta Group conducts due diligence and consults with appropriate legal experts to ensure compliance with disclosure regulations at all times — and we did so in this case."

Paul Ryan ‘Saddened’ by ‘Friend’ Jeff Flake’s Decision
Speaker of the House Paul Ryan mourned Sen. Jeff Flake’s (R-AZ) decision not to seek re-election, describing his retirement as a loss for “the greater cause of conservatism.”
“I’m saddened Congress is losing my friend Jeff Flake. Throughout his career in public service, Jeff has been a champion of constitutional, limited government and a trailblazer for fiscal restraint,” Ryan said in a statement.
“He as much as anyone helped to end a corrosive earmarking process that enabled runaway spending. Jeff’s retirement is a loss to the Senate and the greater cause of conservatism. I wish him well as he continues to advocate for our principles outside of government.”
Ryan and Flake were natural allies in Congress, both championing the causes of unrestrained free trade and presiding over unprecedented levels of illegal immigration, as well as critics of the Trump agenda.

Donald Trump Jr. compares planned anti-Trump ‘scream’ protest to toddler’s temper tantrum
Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest son, took to Twitter Tuesday to mock liberals planning, literally, to yell at the sky on the anniversary of the 2016 presidential election.
“On Trump’s election anniversary, Americans are planning to scream helplessly at the sky,” Newsweek magazine tweeted Tuesday, linking to an article it published Monday on the event being organized via social media.
“Over 4,000 Facebook users have RSVP’d—another 33,000 are interested in attending—to the Nov. 8 event being held in Boston that is literally titled ‘Scream helplessly at the sky on the anniversary of the election,’ ” Newsweek’s Chris Riotta explained in his Oct. 23 story.
“Solid plan: apparently my 3 year old is consulting for the opposition,” quipped Mr. Trump Jr. Wednesday.

Hillary Clinton’s Top Aides Still Being Paid by Campaign Nearly One Year After Defeat
A number of longtime aides to failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton are still being paid from her campaign committee nearly one year after her defeat, Federal Election Commission filings show.
The aides—who have remained close to Clinton, some working with her as a private citizen—have through the end of the third quarter collected thousands of dollars in payments from Hillary for America, Clinton's presidential campaign committee, the most recent filings show.
Huma Abedin, Clinton's longtime friend and aide who acted as vice chair of the campaign, has been paid nearly $65,000 between mid-November to the end of June. From the beginning of July until the end of September, during the third quarter, Abedin was paid a little more than $2,000, bringing her total payments to around $67,000 since the election.
Nicholas Merrill, former Hillary for America spokesman, has been paid $24,357 this year from the campaign.

Obama DOJ Officials Sought to Route ‘Slush Fund’ Cash to Orgs of Their ‘Choosing’
Former President Obama's Department of Justice sought to route settlement money to organizations of their "choosing" while seeking to exclude conservative groups, documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show.
The practice in question began in August 2014 when the Justice Department entered into a $17-billion settlement with Bank of America for selling residential mortgage-backed securities leading up to the 2008 financial collapse. Similar arrangements were made with J.P Morgan Chase and Citigroup that brought the total amount to $36.65 billion.
The DOJ settlement program has come under fire by a number of critics who refer to it as a "slush fund" that allows money to be funneled to third-party activist groups.
Approved nonprofits included groups such as UnidosUS (formerly the National Council of La Raza), NeighborWorks America, and the National Urban League, which gives grants to left-leaning community organizing groups.

Conservative groups get behind Bannon revolt
Tea party groups and other prominent grass-roots conservative operations say they are on board with Steve Bannon’s crusade to oust the entire slate of incumbent Republicans because the former White House political strategist is tapping into the same anti-establishment mood they have been sensing for a while.
The groups say they are active in every election but expect 2018 to be a banner year for ousting incumbent Republicans. They say their base is outraged that, despite having control of both the House and Senate, Republicans have yet to notch major conservative wins.
Mr. Bannon, who is now back running the Breitbart website, isn’t calling the shots for the movement, according to the groups. But the former Trump adviser is on to something.
“We’re going to be extraordinarily active,” said David Bozell, head of For America. “Some establishment guys, it’s not going to necessarily take a conservative movement upheaval to defeat them. You’re going to see a lot of folks stay home because of lack of results.”

Park Service Cancels Funding for Project ‘Honoring Legacy’ of Black Panther Party
The National Park Service told the Washington Free Beacon it is no longer providing funding for a controversial project "honoring the legacy" of the Black Panther Party after outrage that the agency would spend taxpayer dollars to memorialize a group that murdered a park ranger in the 1970s.
The Free Beacon revealed last month that the Park Service gave roughly $100,000 to the University of California, Berkeley for a research project on the Marxist extremist group to "memorialize a history that brought meaning to lives far beyond the San Francisco Bay Area."
"Committed to truthfully honoring the legacy of [Black Panther Party] BPP activists and the San Francisco Bay Area communities they served, the project seeks to document the lives of activists and elders and the landscapes that shaped the movement," the National Park Service stated in the grant awarded for the project.

56 Percent of Republicans Want Mitch McConnell to Resign
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s grip on the Republican leadership is shakier than ever, with a new Harvard-Harris poll showing that a majority of GOP voters want McConnell to resign.
The poll, provided to the Hill, found that 56 percent of Republicans want McConnell out. It also found that he has the worst approval of any politician in the survey, with a meager approval rating of just 16 percent.
The poll also found the Republican Party, while holding both chambers of Congress and the White House, has a rock-bottom approval rating as it fails to deliver on President Trump’s agenda and their own campaign promises, such as repealing Obamacare and cracking down on illegal immigration.
Just 29 percent of voters approve of the job Republican lawmakers are doing..

Unintentional Drug- and Alcohol-Related Intoxication Deaths* in Maryland
This report contains counts of unintentional drug- and alcohol-related intoxication deaths* occurring in Maryland through the 2 nd quarter of 2017, the most recent period for which preliminary data are available. Counts are also shown for the same period of 2007-2016 to allow for review of trends over time. Counts for 2017 are not complete and are subject to change.
Since an intoxication death may involve more than one substance, counts of deaths related to specific substances do not sum to the total number of deaths.
*Deaths resulting from recent ingestion or exposure to alcohol or other types of drugs, including heroin, prescription opioids, prescribed and illicit forms of fentanyl (including carfentanil), cocaine, benzodiazepines, phencyclidine (PCP), methamphetamines and other prescribed and unprescribed drugs.

State releases 2nd quarter fatal overdose data
Largest category increase continues to be fentanyl-related deaths, heroin-related deaths flat, prescription opioid-related deaths decrease
Baltimore, MD (October 24, 2017) – The Maryland Department of Health today released data for fatal overdoses in the second quarter of 2017. During this period, which encompasses January through June of 2017, there were 1,172 overdose-related deaths in the state, including 799 fentanyl-related deaths. The report can be found here.
Fighting the heroin and opioid epidemic in Maryland has been a top priority of Governor Larry Hogan’s administration. The Health Department, in partnership with the Opioid Operational Command Center and other state agencies, continues to collaborate with federal, state, and local partners to fight to reduce the number of overdoses and resulting fatalities in a multitude of ways.
“We continue to see a dramatic increase in the number of overdose deaths connected to fentanyl, and the Maryland Department of Health is committed to building a continuum of care for those with substance use disorders,” said Health Secretary Dennis Schrader. “We are working closely with local jurisdictions to analyze the data and inform overdose and opioid misuse prevention strategy to leverage the state’s unprecedented investment in prevention, treatment and recovery resources.”
Marylanders can find treatment resources at MdDestinationRecovery.org, BeforeItsTooLateMD.org, and the state crisis hotline, 1-800-422-0009.
The largest increases in overdose deaths continue to be fentanyl-related, carfentanil-related, and from cocaine use combined with opioids. These synthetic substances, often combined with other drugs, continue to claim the lives of Marylanders in staggering numbers. Fentanyl deaths alone increased by more than 300 from the first quarter through the second quarter. Fentanyl and carfentanil are 50 and 100 times more potent than heroin, respectively. The Health Department issued a warning about such fentanyl consumption, later adding carfentanil to the list, in 2016 and continues to maintain that warning.
Heroin and prescription opioid deaths for the second quarter of 2017 are relatively flat compared to the second quarter of 2016. Heroin overdose deaths increased by seven in the second quarter of 2017 when compared to the same time frame in 2016. Overdose deaths from prescription opioids fell by seven, totaling 218 in the second quarter of 2016 and falling to 211 during 2017.

'Choose kindness,' Melania Trump tells schoolkids
Donald Trump's detractors may label him one of the world's most powerful bullies, but that did not discourage America's first lady from championing the fight against bullying at a Detroit area school on Monday.
"I think it's important that we choose kindness and compassion," she told students at Orchard Lake Middle School, in a Detroit suburb, during a visit made as part of National Bullying Prevention Month.
"I encourage you to find a new friend," the first lady told the children. "Ask them what they like, what their hobbies are, so nobody becomes sad or stressed and everybody feels included."

99% of Union Donations Go to Leftist Causes and Candidates
From 2012 through 2016, labor unions donated roughly $765 million to political causes and groups, and a staggering 99% of those donations went to leftist political causes or candidates. Luka Ladan, communications director for the Center for Union Facts, stated, “For years, labor unions have hijacked member dues to fund Planned Parenthood, Emily’s List and other pro-abortion groups. Yet many union members oppose the abortion lobby. The Employee Rights Act would require union officials to obtain permission before spending dues dollars on left-wing political advocacy.”
For example, in 2007 alone, labor unions donated $1.8 million to Planned Parenthood, $810,000 to Emily’s Choice and $45,000 to NARAL Pro-Choice America. Often a majority of union members do not know that their dues are funding the abortion lobby.

Bias Blindness Afflicts the Media
If one blatantly dismisses all accusation of bias as patently false when data would suggest otherwise, one will find little sympathy to accept one’s accusation of another as guilty of the same sin. Or to put it in more common parlance, it’s the pot calling the kettle black.
Robert Epstein of the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology, in the run-up to the presidential election, ran an experiment to determine just how biased toward leftist politics were the nation’s leading social media giants. As Frank Foer, a writer for The Atlantic, describes, “The social media companies are the gatekeepers. Whatever choices these companies make to elevate or bury information is very powerful and will have a big impact on what people read.” Epstein found that Google searches returned twice as many pro-Hillary Clinton news articles as did Yahoo. Even more disturbing was Google’s targeting tactic. Men in blue states saw more than double the pro-Clinton articles than did women in red states. Epstein charges that Google’s search algorithm ranked pro-Hillary articles ahead of any positive articles on Donald Trump.
Another study conducted by Nicholas Diakopoulos, a professor at Northwestern University, found that in December 2015 Google search results of presidential candidates showed seven out of every 10 articles were positive toward Democrats, whereas less than six out of 10 were positive for Republican candidates. We’re surprised it was that high. On election night, only 1% of 113 featured Google election-related searches produced articles from conservative news sources.

Major League Baseball Surpasses NFL in Popularity
It’s been quite a while since Major League Baseball was the apple of the American sports fan’s eye, but, according to a recent survey, MLB has regained the top spot. According to the Remington Research Group, baseball has taken advantage of the NFL’s descent into protest madness, and surpassed the NFL in terms of popularity.
When asked, “What is your favorite professional sports league?” Respondents answered that they favored MLB by 30%, the NFL came in second at 25%, the NBA and the NHL at 10% and 8% respectively. While the five percent difference between MLB and the NFL is not insignificant, one imagines the gap between the NFL and the top sport might have been even greater if college football was offered as a choice.
What also clear is that the NFL is starting to lose their male audience.

Mike Pence cast the deciding vote as Senate Republicans struck down a rule that would have let Americans sue banks and credit card companies
The overturning of the rule, with Vice President Mike Pence breaking a 50-to-50 tie, would further loosen regulation of Wall Street as the Trump administration and Republicans move to roll back Obama-era policies enacted in the wake of the 2008 economic crisis. By defeating the rule, Republicans are dismantling a major effort of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the watchdog created by Congress in the aftermath of the mortgage mess.

Maryland Retirement Comm. Only Sold Homes to Muslims
A housing development in Maryland is mired in contradicting legal grievances from city officials and residents after it marketed and sold homes only to Muslims.
A developer for River Run, a housing development along the Gunpowder river in Joppatowne, Md., filed a lawsuit against Hartford county officials in September, alleging that its refusal to continue issuing building permits for the project was discriminatory against Muslims. However, defendants allege that the developers conspired to create an exclusively Islamic community by selling only to Muslims, according to the Washington Post.
Developer Faheem Younus partnered with Bill Luther in 2016, after Younus’s previous development partner bowed out. Younus and Luther then marketed the housing development and sold 22 lots only to Ahmadiyya Muslims, with the aim of creating a retirement community specifically for that sect of Islam.
“There are many Jewish, Christian communities — we’re not reinventing the wheel here,” Younus told WaPo.

State Approves Opioid Intervention Team Plans for All 24 Local Jurisdictions
Teams Engaged in Prevention, Enforcement, and Treatment Efforts to Fight Maryland’s Heroin and Opioid Epidemic
ANNAPOLIS, MD — In the months since Governor Larry Hogan declared a State of Emergency to combat the heroin and opioid crisis, Maryland’s Opioid Operational Command Center has been working with state agencies and local jurisdictions to address the epidemic, which is ravaging communities across the state. Today, the Maryland Department of Health released its overdose death report for the second quarter of 2017, which shows that opioid-related deaths continue to climb, including an increase in those related to the deadly additives fentanyl and carfentanil.
“Due to the Hogan-Rutherford administration’s leadership and the support of our local partners we are driving state and local coordination at a high level, and elevating the response to the opioid crisis in our communities,” said Clay Stamp, executive director of the Opioid Operational Command Center. “Local jurisdictions are utilizing the new resources provided by the state to engage in a wide range of their prevention, protection, and expansion of treatment efforts to fight this epidemic, and we’re working with them to use performance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of these projects.”
In July, the Opioid Operational Command Center, Department of Health, and the Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Preventionannounced more than $22 million to fight the epidemic in Fiscal Year 2018, with 80 percent going to Maryland’s 24 local jurisdictions and service providers to fund prevention, enforcement, and treatment efforts throughout the state.
“Working closely with the Opioid Operational Command Center allows us to collaboratively share information and use real-time intelligence on the ground to enhance services provided by the Department of Health,” said Maryland Department of Health Secretary Dennis R. Schrader. “We continue to work with local jurisdictions to expand resources for prevention, treatment and recovery to combat this crisis at every level.”
Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) ProgramThrough the Maryland Department of Health, access to the Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) program, already in existence in 10 hospitals — Bon Secours Hospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, MedStar Harbor Hospital, MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, University of Maryland Medical Center, and University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus — will expand to a total of 15 hospitals, five of which are being funded through the Opioid Operational Command Center. The department and command center also are working to implement peer recovery support in all 15 of the hospitals.
SBIRT is an evidence-based tool designed to help physicians identify patients who are at risk of substance abuse and to provide appropriate intervention. It has been implemented for adult patients in approximately 22 primary care locations, across 36 sites, and throughout 10 jurisdictions including Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, Carroll County, Anne Arundel County, Harford County, Howard County, St. Mary’s County, and Worcester County. More than 210,500 patients have been screened through the program, exceeding the five-year goal of 90,000 screenings. Of those, more than 3,000 individuals have been referred to treatment, with 377 individuals successfully linked to treatment.
