Speaker of the House Paul Ryan mourned Sen. Jeff Flake’s (R-AZ) decision not to seek re-election, describing his retirement as a loss for “the greater cause of conservatism.”
“I’m saddened Congress is losing my friend Jeff Flake. Throughout his career in public service, Jeff has been a champion of constitutional, limited government and a trailblazer for fiscal restraint,” Ryan said in a statement.
“He as much as anyone helped to end a corrosive earmarking process that enabled runaway spending. Jeff’s retirement is a loss to the Senate and the greater cause of conservatism. I wish him well as he continues to advocate for our principles outside of government.”
Ryan and Flake were natural allies in Congress, both championing the causes of unrestrained free trade and presiding over unprecedented levels of illegal immigration, as well as critics of the Trump agenda.

Ryan needs to go as well. Nothing conservative about this establishment rino!
ReplyDeleteThe Trump train is leaving the station and they didn't get on. Him and Corker are "retiring" because they know they can't win with the folks back home. Well bye!
ReplyDeleteThat a mouth full of lies and BS. If he were so fiscally conservative Obama would not have dumped TRILLIONS of debt on us.
ReplyDeleteBlowin fake smoke!!! Ryan is as corrupt as the rest...likely even more so!
ReplyDeleteWhat they are finding out is that it is not BUSINESS as Usual in DC. You need to have bigger money and bigger Globalist investments to play now. Trump panders and plays to the working chickens but he is the Fox in the Hen house. The rich will get richer creating no new working class jobs and as will fall for his buttery common man sermons when his life has been neither and just another floated trail of speculation and tacky Monarchistic entitlement.
ReplyDeletePeople are so butt hurt they will fall for anything. I hope from this we get a Military Candidate someone on the inside that has paid and lived real dues and knows the truths about the myth of exporting Democracy and the expense in human life that globalist speculating creates. No one will be going back to work anywhere ! Except maybe Honey BooBoo. What is most frightening is that we have fellow Americans that fell for this BS. Obama will be forgotten but this Presidency is going to change the entire ridiculous Republic as it's lowest point in time and we will realize how desperate stupid and wantingly entitled our simple neighbors want to be as they cling to outdated hopes desires and aspirations. LOL.
They see Trump draining the swamp. They want to collect their Federal Retirement and collect their benefits longer. They were afraid if they were not re-elected they would not receive these benefits. They increased their net worth considerably, by millions, and made contacts that will enrich their income. They need to tell the truth and quit blaming Trump. They are Trump haters.

ReplyDeleteFlake was polling very poorly back home; unlikely to be re-elected. In the House, he had a lot of merit, but when elected senator he lost his perspective.
But he can keep his campaign cash as a going away present instead of spending it in a losing cause. So that should put a smile on his face.
