The Anti-Federalists Were Right
On the eve of the federal convention, and following its adjournment in September of 1787, the Anti-Federalists made the case that the Constitution makers in Philadelphia had exceeded the mandate they were given to amend the Articles of Confederation, and nothing more.
The Federal Constitution augured ill for freedom, argued the Anti-Federalists. These unsung heroes had warned early Americans of the "ropes and chains of consolidation," in Patrick Henry's magnificent words, inherent in the new dispensation.
At the very least, and after 230 years of just such "consolidation," it’s safe to say that the original Constitution is a dead letter.
The natural- and common law traditions, once lodestars for lawmakers, have been buried under the rubble of legislation and statute. However much one shovels the muck of lawmaking aside, natural justice and the Founders' original intent remain buried too deep to exhume.

Politicians blocking people on social media ignites debate
An emerging debate about whether elected officials violate people's free speech rights by blocking them on social media is spreading across the U.S. as groups sue or warn politicians to stop the practice.
The American Civil Liberties Union this week sued Maine Gov. Paul LePage and sent warning letters to Utah's congressional delegation. It followed recent lawsuits against the governors of Maryland and Kentucky and President Donald Trump.
Trump's frequent and often unorthodox use of Twitter and allegations he blocks people with dissenting views has raised questions about what elected officials can and cannot do on their official social media pages.
Politicians at all levels increasingly embrace social media to discuss government business, sometimes at the expense of traditional town halls or in-person meetings.
"People turn to social media because they see their elected officials as being available there and they're hungry for opportunities to express their opinions and share feedback," said Anna Thomas, spokeswoman for the ACLU of Utah. "That includes people who disagree with public officials."
Most of the officials targeted so far — all Republicans — say they are not violating free speech but policing social media pages to get rid of people who post hateful, violent, obscene or abusive messages.

1,000 African Migrants Armed With Sticks, Improvised Spears Storm Spanish Border
A reported 1,000 African migrants armed with makeshift weapons tried to storm the Spanish enclave of Ceuta on Tuesday morning.
According to Ceuta’s Civil Guard Command, at least three Spanish officers and 10 Moroccans were injured as authorities managed to push back the “extremely violent” mob of African migrants brandishing sticks, hand-made spears, and sharp objects, some of whom were throwing stones at police.
The fresh attempt to enter European Union (EU) territory from Morocco came just a day after a policeman’s leg was broken as 300 sub-Saharan Africans stormed the Tarajal crossing, 187 of them succeeding in their quest to break into the Spanish enclave.

Two Maryland doctors indicted on drug charges after allegedly writing prescriptions for more than a quarter-million doses
Two Baltimore-area doctors flooded Maryland streets with more than a quarter-million doses of illegally prescribed painkillers and sedatives in recent years, compounding the state’s opioid epidemic, investigators said Thursday.
State and federal law enforcement officials announced the doctors have been indicted on charges of selling prescriptions for cash — one man allegedly dealing out of his Mercedes — in separate schemes that investigators said caused two deaths, attracted pill-hungry customers from as far away as Youngstown, Ohio, and transformed the grounds outside a North Baltimore clinic into an open-air drug market with unruly crowds.
“These are outrageous cases,” Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh said. “We hope they’re outliers. Unfortunately, the evidence in Maryland and around the country [is] there are others like them.”
Americans account for 5 percent of the world population, but consume 98 percent of narcotic painkillers Oxycodone and Hydrocodone, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Judge: Parents owe $300k for suit in son's gym mat death
The parents of a Georgia teenager found dead inside a rolled-up gym mat and their attorney must pay more than $292,000 in legal fees to dozens of people they accused of foul play in a lawsuit that was later dropped, a judge ruled.
The body of Kendrick Johnson, 17, of Valdosta, Georgia was found in the gymnasium by classmates at Lowndes High School in 2013.
Sheriff's investigators concluded Johnson died in a freak accident, stuck upside down and unable to breathe while trying to retrieve a shoe that fell inside the upright mat.

Louisiana Company Pays More Than $100,000 to U.S. Workers to Resolve Discrimination Claims
Justice Department announced today that Barrios Street Realty LLC, a company based in Lockport, Louisiana, has paid approximately $108,000 to 12 U.S. workers pursuant to a settlement with the department. The payments are part of a March 2016 settlement that resolved claims that Barrios discriminated against U.S. workers in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).
In its investigation leading up to the settlement, the department determined that from 2014 through 2015, the company and its agent, Jorge Arturo Guerrero Rodriguez, failed to consider or improperly rejected U.S. workers who applied for positions as sheet metal roofers or laborers, and then sought to fill the vacancies with foreign workers under the H-2B visa program. According to the department, the company’s petition for foreign workers falsely claimed that it could not find qualified U.S. workers. Refusing to consider or hire qualified U.S. workers because of their citizenship violates the anti-discrimination provision of the INA.
The settlement required Barrios to pay $30,000 in civil penalties and up to $115,000 in back pay to compensate U.S. workers who were denied employment because of the company’s reliance on H-2B visa workers. After entering the settlement, the department determined that 12 U.S. workers were entitled to receive back pay totaling approximately $108,000, and the company made the final payments to the workers last week.

Detectives Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Fraud Suspects
Sussex County - Delaware State Police are investigating incidents in which a credit card skimming device may have been used at Seaford area gas stations in July 2017.
Detectives with the Troop 4 Financial Crimes Unit have been investigating credit card frauds that have taken place at the end of July 2017 after a customer found fraudulent transactions on their account. Investigators were able to use the fraudulent purchases to track them back to a pair of gas stations on Stein Highway near Seaford that may have had the gas pumps tampered with by someone installing skimming devices.
Through further investigation, which included reviewing video surveillance footage, troopers were able to identify possible suspects in the incidents (pictured) and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying them.
If anyone has any information in reference to this incident or knows the identity of the pictured suspects, they are asked to contact Sergeant D. Rementer at 302-752-3814. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.

A New Report Raises Big Questions About Last Year’s DNC Hack
Former NSA experts say it wasn’t a hack at all, but a leak—an inside job by someone with access to the DNC’s system.
It is now a year since the Democratic National Committee’s mail system was compromised—a year since events in the spring and early summer of 2016 were identified as remote hacks and, in short order, attributed to Russians acting in behalf of Donald Trump. A great edifice has been erected during this time. President Trump, members of his family, and numerous people around him stand accused of various corruptions and extensive collusion with Russians. Half a dozen simultaneous investigations proceed into these matters. Last week news broke that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had convened a grand jury, which issued its first subpoenas on August 3. Allegations of treason are common; prominent political figures and many media cultivate a case for impeachment.
The president’s ability to conduct foreign policy, notably but not only with regard to Russia, is now crippled. Forced into a corner and having no choice, Trump just signed legislation imposing severe new sanctions on Russia and European companies working with it on pipeline projects vital to Russia’s energy sector. Striking this close to the core of another nation’s economy is customarily considered an act of war, we must not forget. In retaliation, Moscow has announced that the United States must cut its embassy staff by roughly two-thirds. All sides agree that relations between the United States and Russia are now as fragile as they were during some of the Cold War’s worst moments. To suggest that military conflict between two nuclear powers inches ever closer can no longer be dismissed as hyperbole.
All this was set in motion when the DNC’s mail server was first violated in the spring of 2016 and by subsequent assertions that Russians were behind that “hack” and another such operation, also described as a Russian hack, on July 5. These are the foundation stones of the edifice just outlined. The evolution of public discourse in the year since is worthy of scholarly study: Possibilities became allegations, and these became probabilities. Then the probabilities turned into certainties, and these evolved into what are now taken to be established truths. By my reckoning, it required a few days to a few weeks to advance from each of these stages to the next. This was accomplished via the indefensibly corrupt manipulations of language repeated incessantly in our leading media.

Punkin Chunkin in trouble
BRIDGEVILLE — One of Delaware’s most memorable traditions could be coming to an end.
Punkin Chunkin, which has seen several attendees suffer high-profile injuries in recent years, may not be continuing after this November, the group behind the event announced Thursday.
The Science Channel, which provided a quarter of the funding, dropped the event after a woman was seriously injured when an air cannon exploded in 2016.
“In life, there are uncertainties in everything we do,” World Punkin Chunkin Championship Association President Frank Payton said in a statement. “Punkin Chunkin is not an exception. 2013 or even last year could have been the last year. We know that the event will happen again in 2017, but without an outpouring of worldwide community financial support, we are in trouble.”

It's Not Fair: Smart People Need To Check Their "Cognitive Privilege"
There’s a new kind of “privilege” in town, and if you suffer from it, you can’t help it any more than you can help your skin color or your gender. (Although, of late, gender seems to be completely open to debate and have nothing to do with biology.) If you are an intelligent person, you have “cognitive privilege” according to an op-ed in the Daily Iowan.
Well, that’s just really not fair, is it?
With all the “privileges” out there that need to be kept in check, may God help you if you are white, male, attractive, and smart. You are public enemy #1 to the social justice set, you privileged scumbag.
I’ll let the author, Dan Williams, explain cognitive privilege because I couldn’t possibly do it justice in a summary:
We now know that intelligence is not something we have significant control over but is something we are born with. We are living in a society in which success is increasingly linked to one’s intelligence. This is not to say that intelligence is the only factor that is important. All that is implied is that below a certain threshold of intelligence, there are fewer and fewer opportunities. These opportunities are being shifted upward to jobs that require heavier cognitive lifting or else are being replaced by robots. Thus, the accident of having been born smart enough to be able to be successful is a great benefit that you did absolutely nothing to earn. Consequently, you have nothing to be proud of for being smart. (source)

Get Ready! You Don’t Want to Miss the Brightest Meteor Shower in Recorded Human History!
A powerful, as in fact, the brightest meteor shower is about to happen, and you don’t want to miss it!
A meteor shower is a celestial event in which a number of meteors are observed to radiate, or originate, from one point in the night sky.
These meteors are caused by streams of cosmic debris called meteoroids entering Earth’s atmosphere at extremely high speeds on parallel trajectories. Most meteors are smaller than a grain of sand, so almost all of them disintegrate and never hit the Earth’s surface.
What’s even more exciting, a meteor shower is about to take place on 12th of August, 2017, but it’s not just a regular meteor shower. Astronomers suppose that this will be the brightest meteor shower in recorded human history! It will magically light up the sky, and some of them might be visible even during the daytime.
You just don’t want to miss this. Why? Because probably you won’t be alive in another 96 years to wait for the next one.
CEO Responds To Veteran-Hating, Cop-Hating Gym Owner In Epic Letter
Dear Jim Chambers, owner of the police and veteran hating gym:
I’d like to start by congratulating you. All it took was a simple sign on the door of EAV Barbell Club stating “no Fu***** cops” to bring national media exposure to a d-list gym that probably has fewer paying clients than bourbon has ingredients. Well played.
Jim, I’d like to introduce myself to you.
I run an agency called The Silent Partner Marketing. Last year we launched a campaign to donate $500,000 worth of services to police and veterans (along with other first responders) to help tell the stories behind their uniforms.
Jim, my team watched your interview in the local media. We heard your comment:
“We don’t want to make police stronger so that they can make people hurt more efficiently.”
First of all, we want to apologize. Perhaps you’ve had a difficult experience in the past. Perhaps you’ve had run-ins with the law. Perhaps, when growing up, you didn’t have people telling you that they love you. Perhaps you’re just desperate to have someone pay attention to you. Whatever your story is … it’s obviously difficult. And painful.
Want to know who else has experienced challenges in life? The police officers you are speaking out against.
And to your point – they absolutely hurt people. As a matter of fact, they do it regularly.

Montgomery Co. school board sued for millions over molestation of students
WASHINGTON — The Montgomery County Board of Education is being sued for millions of dollars in connection with a teacher who was convicted of child sex abuse.
In announcing the suit, Jeff Herman, a Florida lawyer who specializes in sexual abuse cases involving children, said Thursday “the school system here has failed miserably at protecting its students” from John Vigna, a former teacher at Cloverly Elementary School, in Silver Spring, Maryland, who was convicted of nine counts of sexual abuse in June and was sentenced to 48 years in prison last week.
Herman said he had filed a Title IX suit on behalf of family of one of the victims, who is now 12. He didn’t specify how much the family was seeking, but said it was in the millions.
Herman said Vigna had been reprimanded in 2008 for putting children on his lap.
“That’s what we call a red flag,” Herman said.
Herman said Vigna was only reprimanded at the time.

Judge Orders State Dept To Search Clinton Aide
The search for State Department emails regarding the Sept. 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks received a boost this week when a federal judge ordered the agency to search the government email accounts of several Hillary Clinton aides.
Washington D.C. District Court Judge Amit Mehta, an Obama appointee, ordered State to search the accounts of Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills and Jake Sullivan, Clinton’s top aides at the State Department, in response to a lawsuit filed by the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch.
Mehta said that the State Department did not do enough to search for all emails it has on its computer systems regarding the Benghazi attacks, which left four Americans dead.
The State Department reviewed the 30,000-plus emails that Clinton returned to the agency in Dec. 2014. It has also searched emails that Abedin, Mills and Sullivan sent and received on personal accounts.

Why RINOS Must Go
The time is long overdue for ridding the Republican Party of the Republicans-In-Name-Only (“RINOs”) populating much of our government. For many decades, they have traveled under the euphemistic but false label of “moderates” as they sided with the liberals/progressives/socialists of the Democratic Party against Republican conservatives who believe in personal freedom, personal responsibility, a limited federal government, and the Constitution of the United States as “We the People” ordained and amended it. To recognize who the RINOs are, appreciate why they must be removed from office, and maximize our prospects for success in this mission, it is worth considering how they came to hold such sway over our politics.
The origins of the Republican schism go back more than a century, to the administration of Theodore Roosevelt, our first “progressive” president and the first to deserve the RINO moniker. Roosevelt broke ranks with the Republicans who came before by setting the stage for a larger, more intrusive federal government that, among other things, would control entire industries through extensive regulations to be administered by bureaucrats. To pay for this, the progressives -- found mainly within the Democratic Party -- joined with a faction of the Republicans to enact a constitutional amendment allowing the federal government to tax our income, with no cap on the rates of taxation. Over the ensuing decades, progressive presidents -- from Woodrow Wilson to Herbert Hoover to Franklin Roosevelt to Lyndon Johnson to Barack Obama (all Democrats save the RINO Hoover) -- steadily increased the size, reach, and cost of the federal government.

Dulles CBP Seizes more than $77k in Unreported Currency
Six Currency Seizures since July 1 Nets Nearly $152k
STERLING, Va., — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized $77,586 combined in three seizures of travelers flying international through Washington Dulles International Airport recently for violating federal currency reporting regulations.
CBP officers seized:
- $20,211 from an Ethiopia-bound couple on Saturday. The couple reported $8,000 and then $11,600; however, a CBP currency canine alerted and CBP officers discovered additional currency in envelopes in a carry-on bag and purse, and in wallets each possessed.
- $33,796 from a Burundi woman who arrived on a flight from Ghana on July 27. The woman reported $9,000. CBP officers discovered $32,765, 483 Ghanaian Cedi and 50 UAE Dirhams for a total U.S. dollar equivalent of $33,796.
- $23,579 from a mother and son bound for Sudan on July 24. They verbally reported “less than $10,000,” and then wrote down $9,800. CBP officers discovered an additional $4,000 in a laptop case and multiple envelopes in a purse that contained a combined $10,579 for a total count of $23,579.
If America Was Trying to Start a World War, This Is How It Would Happen
Last Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed new sanctions into law against Russia, Iran, and North Korea. The legislation was supported so overwhelmingly in Congress that President Trump’s ability to veto the legislation was rendered completely ineffective.
Even anti-interventionist Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard voted in favor of the bill, once again proving that Republicans and Democrats always find common ground when it comes to beating the drums of war against sovereign nations who have taken very little unwarranted hostile action — if any — towards the United States.
But these are just sanctions, not acts of war, right? There’s nothing wrong with economically bullying other countries into submission over non-compliance with the current global order, right?
Not quite.
Sanctions are always a prelude to war. Though few are aware, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 was arguably in response to America’s attempt to cripple Japan’s booming economy through embargos and asset freezes, ending Japan’s commercial relationship with the United States and provoking the desperation that led to their attack.

Farmer Heartbroken After Cop ‘Feared for His Life’ and Killed His Prize Goat
Portland, OR — Matt Minnick is a small farmer in Portland who is now very upset after a Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy shot and killed his top breeding goat Sunday morning.
Because of the new construction by Minnick’s property, some damage was caused to a portion of his fence that his $1,200 prized New Zealand goat named Volt managed to escape through.
Volt was not some pit bull or rabid German Shepard — he was a goat.
As a friendly reminder, when children go to petting zoos, they are surrounded by these animals. There are thousands of petting zoos throughout the country at which children interact with goats on a daily basis. Amazingly enough, none of these children ‘fear for their lives’ and kill any of these goats.
Minnick takes responsibility for the fact that his goat escaped, saying, “Goats are escape artists, and I’m the farmer. I see this as partly my fault because I didn’t keep a closer eye on my perimeter.” However, he says there was no reason for killing Volt.

Trump backs McMaster
President Trump gave H.R. McMaster a vote of confidence after the national security adviser's rivals seized on a letter McMaster sent to his Obama predecessor Susan Rice giving her continued access to classified information.
McMaster's letter, which his supporters said was routine, was apparently leaked to imply that the Army lieutenant general was helping Trump's enemies. McMaster's feud with other powerful camps inside the White House has been well-documented, and a recent spate of firings by McMaster appears to have ratcheted up tensions. But Trump issued a statement late Friday supporting McMaster.
"General McMaster and I are working very well together," the statement read. "He is a good man and very pro-Israel. I am grateful for the work he continues to do serving our country."
McMaster already had been in the spotlight for the series of firings he’s ordered on the National Security Council. Most recently, he ousted Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence at the National Security Council who had been viewed as a Trump loyalist.

Judge to State Dept.: Search state.gov accounts for Benghazi emails
A federal judge has ordered the State Department to search the “state.gov” email accounts of Hillary Clinton aides Huma Abedin, Cheryl Mills and Jacob Sullivan for records related to Benghazi, as part of a watchdog’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.
U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia Amit Mehta made the call Tuesday, describing the FOIA lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch in March 2015 as “a far cry from a typical FOIA case.”
“If Secretary Clinton sent an email about Benghazi to Abedin, Mills, or Sullivan at his or her state.gov email address, or if one of them sent an e-mail to Secretary Clinton using his or her state.gov account, then State’s server presumably would have captured and stored such an email,” Mehta wrote. “State has an obligation to search its own server for responsive records.”
The court ordered that the State Department conduct a “supplemental search” of Abedin, Mills and Sullivan state.gov email accounts, and set a deadline of Sept. 22 for the department to update the court on the status.

Investigation into O’Connor death on beach continues
Ocean City Police are still investigating the bizarre nature of Ashley O’Connor’s death, but officials say there’s a strong possibility that the sand caved in on her when she was in a hole on the beach on July 31.
“We don’t know who dug the hole, and that’s something we might never know, but it’s very likely that the sand covered her when she was in the hole,” Police Public Affairs Specialist Lindsay Richard said. “It was a pretty sizable hole, although we don’t have exact measurements.”
O’Connor, 30, of Plano, Texas died of suffocation sometime overnight on July 31. Her body was found early that morning near Second Street after a citizen walking on the beach spotted a forearm and a bit of hair sticking out of the sand. The citizen reported it to a city employee, who called police.
O’Connor was found in a hole about 30 yards away from the high-tide line. The body had no visible injuries and was intact when investigators excavated it.

Democrats Threaten Gov’t Shutdown To Block Border Wall
Democrats are threatening to shutter many government agencies on October 1 unless President Donald Trump gives up his popular campaign promise to build the border wall against Mexico, according to Politico.
In response, Trump’s deputies are offering political compromises to Democrats, including a rise in domestic spending, says Politico:
"The White House is pushing a deal on Capitol Hill to head off a government shutdown that would lift strict spending caps long opposed by Democrats in exchange for money for President Donald Trump’s border wall with Mexico, multiple sources said."
Trump’s pending request for an October funding package of $1.6 billion would help build roughly 62 miles of border wall. In May, Democrats — aided by a passive GOP leadership — blocked a 2017 funding package that would have helped quickly build 42 miles of wall.

South Dakota Airmen arrive ready to 'Fight Tonight'
Two U.S. Air Force B-1B bombers, under the command of U.S. Pacific Air Forces, joined their counterparts from the Republic of Korea and Japanese air forces in sequenced bilateral missions, August 7.
This serves as the first mission for the crews and aircraft recently deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota in support of U.S. Pacific Command’s Continuous Bomber Presence missions.
After taking off from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, the B-1s assigned to the 37th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, flew to Japanese airspace, where they were joined by Koku Jieitai (Japan Air Self Defense Force) F-2 fighter jets. The B-1s then flew over the Korean Peninsula where they were joined by Republic of Korea Air Force F-15 fighter jets. The B-1s then performed a pass over the Pilsung Range before leaving South Korean airspace and returning to Guam.
Throughout the approximately 10-hour mission, the aircrews practiced intercept and formation training, enabling them to enhance their combined capabilities and tactical skills, while also strengthening the long standing military-to-military relationships in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.

EEOC: Cargill Violated Muslims' Rights in Prayer Ban
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has found reasonable cause that agribusiness giant Cargill violated the civil rights of Somali-American Muslim employees by refusing to allow them to pray during their breaks at a meatpacking plant in Colorado.
About 150 employees walked off the job at the Cargill's Fort Morgan plant in December 2015 after supervisors told them they would no longer be allowed to pray during their breaks.. Cargill Meat Solutions, the Wichita-based subsidiary of agribusiness giant Cargill Inc., then fired the workers for violating attendance policies.
The U.S. EEOC also found reasonable cause last week that Teamsters Local No. 455, the union representing workers at the Fort Morgan plant, didn't offer fair representation to the Muslim workers. Last October, the National Labor Relations Board sided with the terminated workers in their complaint.

Susan Rice Urges Donald Trump to ‘Tolerate Nuclear Weapons in North Korea’
Former President Barack Obama’s National Security adviser, Susan Rice, wants President Donald Trump to accept North Korea as a nuclear power.
“History shows that we can, if we must, tolerate nuclear weapons in North Korea — the same way we tolerated the far greater threat of thousands of Soviet nuclear weapons during the Cold War,” she wrote in a New York Times op-ed, criticizing the president’s “fire and fury” rhetoric in response to the escalating tensions between the two countries.
“John Kelly, Mr. Trump’s chief of staff, must assert control over the White House, including his boss, and curb the Trump surrogates whipping up Cuban missile crisis fears,” she wrote.

Republican Senate Didn’t Even Recess so Trump Could Make Recess Appointments
Pollster and political analyst Pat Caddell spoke with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow on Thursday regarding Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s complaints about President Trump’s expectations for a Republican Congress and the president’s tough talk on North Korea.
Caddell said, “The McConnell stuff, I found just amazing. I mean, McConnell’s talk the other day, so condescending to the president.”
“Look at what the Senate did. It didn’t even recess so he could appoint recess appointments. That’s what the Democrats would have done. All these positions he can’t move through the Senate, he could have appointed them the day they recessed. But they made sure he couldn’t."

Public schools in the state are now required to stock naloxone and add opioids to drug education
BALTIMORE - It might be a sign of the times, but the goal is to save lives. Now that message is coming to the classrooms.
"Well, I think it's appropriate, unfortunately, in today's society it's more prevalent," said Parent Mario Orlando.
"I think it's sad that society has come to a point where you have to have that available in school, honestly," Parent Christina Young said.
No one is immune to the opioid epidemic. As overdose deaths continue to spike, educators are on the front line of that battle.

Asian-Americans Complicate the Affirmative Action Narrative
The concept has been bastardized to promote a spoils system that makes a complete mockery of the word "equal."
“The purpose of affirmative action is to promote social equality through the preferential treatment of socioeconomically disadvantaged people. Often, these people are disadvantaged for historical reasons like years of oppression or slavery.” —HG.org, a legal resource website
In 1961, President John F. Kennedy issued Executive Order 10925. It included a provision instructing government contractors to “take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, creed, color, or national origin.” In 1965, President Lyndon Johnson issued Executive Order 11246 adding sex to the list, and again requiring federal contractors to promote the full realization of equal opportunity for women and minorities via affirmative action.
Since then, the concept has been bastardized to promote a spoils system that makes a complete mockery of the word “equal” — as in the “equal protection of the laws” ostensibly guaranteed by the 14th Amendment.
Thus, progressive heads are exploding with regard to an internal memo obtained by The New York Times. It reveals the Justice Department is seeking attorneys willing to explore “investigations and possible litigation related to intentional race-based discrimination in college and university admissions.” The Times initially insisted this project is aimed at “suing universities over affirmative action admissions policies deemed to discriminate against white applicants.”

White House Globalists form 'Committee to Save America' -- from Trump and His Voter Base
A group of globalist White House advisers and generals have apparently teamed up with establishment Republican leaders in Congress to form a “Committee to Save America” alliance. Though their purported aim is to “protect Trump and the nation from disaster,” these self-styled saviors might be better named “The Committee to Betray President Donald Trump’s Voters.”
Axios’s Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen had “private chats” recently with their usual gang of establishment Republican sources in Congress and the White House about this committee of smarty-pants saviors who think Trump is either a lunatic, dumb, or both.
Allen writes about the usual suspects in this alliance—Democrats like top economic adviser Gary Cohn and globalist former Goldman Sachs executives like Dina Powell, who is notorious for being able to “manage up” as well as anyone.

Breaking News: President Trump again warned North Korea: "Military solutions are now fully in place, locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely"
President Trump issued yet another provocative warning of military action against North Korea on Friday, the third time in a week that he has suggested he was ready to strike the small, isolated Asian country that has been developing nuclear weapons capable of reaching the United States.
In an early-morning Twitter post, Mr. Trump used language to suggest that military forces were on the edge of action against the government of Kim Jong-un, which has demonstrated rapid progress in its nuclear program in recent months and threatened to launch missiles toward the American territory of Guam in response to the president’s earlier warning.
As a practical matter, Mr. Trump’s comment does not necessarily indicate a specific change in military readiness or any imminent action.

College Student Gets 100 Days In Jail For Registering Dead Voters As Democrats
A Virginia college student was sentenced to 100 days in jail this week for submitting fraudulent voter registration forms listing the names of dead people as Democrat voters. Andrew J. Spieles, 21, was sentenced in federal court Tuesday for knowingly transferring false Virginia voter registration forms during the 2016 election, according to the Justice Department.
While this should come as a surprise to precisely 0 people, Spieles just happens to be Democrat who, according to a deleted Facebook post, apparently recently ran for Caucus Chair of the Virginia Young Democrats.
Spieles was accused of not only voter fraud, but other faulty information for a political organization connected to the Democratic Party. Spieles, who was a student at James Madison University, worked as a staffer for Harrisonburg Votes. The group is affiliated with the Democratic Party and Spieles was paid to register voters in the area during the weeks leading up to the 2016 election. Spieles’ job was to register as many voters as possible; he reported to Democratic campaign headquarters in Harrisonburg, Va., according to the DOJ.

Fake Eclipse Glasses Warning: Don't Get Burned
Fake eclipse glasses will likely be worn by many when millions of Americans turn their faces skyward to see the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse in a century. Knockoffs of specially designed protective eyewear for staring at the sun are flooding the U.S. market.
Experts cautioned the public to stay clear of unsafe counterfeits, Reuters reported.
Even as makers of certified, safety-tested solar eye ware rushed to meet surging demand before the Aug. 21 eclipse, they have joined astronomers and optometrists in warning of defective knockoffs.
"It's a bunch of unscrupulous people cashing in on the eclipse and putting public safety at risk," said Richard Fienberg, press officer for the American Astronomical Society.

Niacin could reduce miscarriages and birth defects
Taking a common vitamin supplement could significantly reduce the number of miscarriages and birth defects worldwide, scientists reveal.
Vitamin B3, known as niacin, helps to correct a nutrient deficiency that can stop babies' organs developing correctly, a study found in what is described as a major breakthrough in pregnancy research.
Study author Professor Sally Dunwoodie from the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in New South Wales, Australia, said: 'Now, after 12 years of research, our team has also discovered that this deficiency can be cured and miscarriages and birth defects prevented by taking a common vitamin.
'This has the potential to significantly reduce the number of miscarriages and birth defects around the world, and I do not use those words lightly.'
Niacin is found in marmite, meat and vegetables.

The targeted treatments will use a biological product approved for organic farming that was recommended by a panel of scientists and will have no impact on the environment or other species. Midges, which have posed a nuisance since 2008, have had significant economic ramifications for tourism, local businesses, and community facilities in the county.
“We have heard the repeated call of local residents loud and clear,” said Governor Hogan. “Our administration is proud to take action to provide immediate and much-needed relief from this ongoing nuisance and provide further upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant.”
This afternoon, the governor joined Baltimore City Mayor Catherine Pugh and other state and local officials for the groundbreaking of the Back River Headworks Project at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant, which is expected to reduce more than 80 percent of the volume of the sewage overflows from the Baltimore City Sewer System. The state is investing more than $650 million for the project, which is expected to reduce nitrogen to the Bay by more than 1.8 million pounds per year.
According to a 2014 Department of Natural Resources study, nutrient pollution stemming from the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant is the likely cause of the midge infestation in the area. While upgrades to the Back River plant are on schedule, the infestation still poses an immediate impact to marinas, restaurants with outdoor seating, and other small businesses, as well as activities at a local senior center.
“I commend Governor Hogan for his leadership on this issue by launching a pilot initiative to help marinas, restaurants and local residents,” said Agriculture Secretary Joe Bartenfelder. “The state is taking action, despite the county’s refusal to act, to reduce the nuisance of midges so Marylanders can enjoy the Back River.”
Earlier this year, Governor Hogan provided state funding to mitigate the midge infestation in the Back River area of Baltimore County, following multiple refusals by the county to address the issue. In October 2016, Governor Hogan offered to have the state split the cost of a treatment program, but county officials declined the state’s offer. The administration moved ahead, dedicating over $330,000 to fund treatments for target “hot spots” in the region starting in spring 2017 to provide relief for local residents and businesses through the summer and early fall, while working to assess the treatments’ effectiveness. However, the state’s action was delayed by Baltimore County, the General Assembly, and the Attorney General.
To date, the state has given $288 million in financial aid to Baltimore County to upgrade the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant with biological nutrient and enhanced nutrient removal technologies, which is anticipated to provide a long-term solution to the midge infestation, and today’s Executive Order will enable the state to move forward with delivering immediate relief for the community.

Remember That Time...
Remember that time Donald Trump was paid $500,000 to give a speech in
Moscow?! Oh no, wait…....that was BILL CLINTON.
Remember that time Trump failed to disclose Russian donors to his
foundation before he served as Sec of State? Oh no, wait..... that was HILLARY CLINTON.
Remember the time Trump was business partners with Russian government?
Oh no wait, that was HILLARY’s campaign chairman, JOHN PODESTA.
Remember the time Trump scored $145M from shareholders of a uranium company
that was sold to the Russians? Oh no, wait… that was HILLARY.
Remember that time Donald Trump approved the sale of 20% of U.S. uranium
to the Russians?! Oh no, wait… that was HILLARY CLINTON.
Remember that time Donald Trump’s law partner was to testify against him?
Oh no, wait....that was HILLARY.
Remember that time Donald Trump sent classified emails from his personal
email server. Oh no, wait..... that was… HILLARY*.*
Remember that time Donald Trump’s political data analyst was shot in the
back on the way to testify? Oh no, wait ..... that was HILLARY’S.
Meanwhile, it's Trump who's being investigated for his "rumored" ties to
Russia, none of which has been proven; and you wonder why he fired Comey?
*I guess our laws only applies to those with a last name other than CLINTON .*

TWO NUNS WERE SHOPPING AT A 7-ELEVEN STORE. AS THEY PASSED BY THE BEER COOLER, ONE NUN SAID TO THE OTHER, "WOULDN'T A NICE COOL BEER OR TWO
TASTE WONDERFUL ON A HOT SUMMER EVENING?"
THE SECOND NUN ANSWERED, "INDEED IT WOULD, SISTER, BUT I WOULD NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE BUYING BEER, SINCE I AM CERTAIN IT WOULD CAUSE A SCENE AT
THE CHECKOUT STAND."
"I CAN HANDLE THAT WITHOUT A PROBLEM," THE OTHER NUN REPLIED, AND SHE PICKED UP A SIX-PACK AND HEADED FOR THE CHECK-OUT.
THE CASHIER HAD A SURPRISED LOOK ON HIS FACE WHEN THE TWO NUNS ARRIVED WITH A SIX-PACK OF BEER. "WE USE BEER FOR WASHING OUR HAIR" THE NUN
SAID, "BACK AT OUR NUNNERY, WE CALL IT CATHOLIC SHAMPOO .
WITHOUT BLINKING AN EYE, THE CASHIER REACHED UNDER THE COUNTER. PULLED OUT A PACKAGE OF PRETZEL STICKS, AND PLACED THEM IN THE BAG WITH THE BEER.
HE THEN LOOKED THE NUN STRAIGHT IN THE EYE, SMILED, AND SAID: "THE CURLERS ARE ON THE HOUSE."

Broke Chicago Schools Sack 356 Teachers
Officials with the perpetually insolvent Chicago Public School system laid off 356 teachers and nearly 600 school support staffers this week.
The teachers and other employees received their pink slips from the taxpayer-funded school district on Monday, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
Chicago’s elementary schools will have 240 fewer teachers this fall. Second City high schools will have 116 fewer teachers.
In addition to the 356 teachers, Chicago Public School officials also sacked 362 classroom aides and 221 employees who were security guards and special education aides.
Chicago Teachers Union spokeswoman Stacy Davis Gates blamed an ongoing budget battle between Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner in particular for the layoffs.
