Ocean City Police are still investigating the bizarre nature of Ashley O’Connor’s death, but officials say there’s a strong possibility that the sand caved in on her when she was in a hole on the beach on July 31.
“We don’t know who dug the hole, and that’s something we might never know, but it’s very likely that the sand covered her when she was in the hole,” Police Public Affairs Specialist Lindsay Richard said. “It was a pretty sizable hole, although we don’t have exact measurements.”
O’Connor, 30, of Plano, Texas died of suffocation sometime overnight on July 31. Her body was found early that morning near Second Street after a citizen walking on the beach spotted a forearm and a bit of hair sticking out of the sand. The citizen reported it to a city employee, who called police.
O’Connor was found in a hole about 30 yards away from the high-tide line. The body had no visible injuries and was intact when investigators excavated it.

ReplyDeleteUmm You don't say ? Huh Captain obvious.
what kind of investigation is being conducted? The measurement of the hole should be a vital piece of evidence? this measurement would be comparable to skid marks at an accident scene. This investigation according to information being released is doing more damage to OC since it appears more everyday the "Keystone Cops" are conducting the investigation.

ReplyDeleteStill something missing....why wasn't her "wife" with her on vacation, why was she on a closed beach at 2 a.m. all alone, what was or had been her mental disposition at this time?????? A whole lot of unanswered issues.....sorry no disrespect to the parents....we are always the last to know of issues in our children's lives, but others who knew her and socialized with her, what is their points of view?

What????? What hole???? Wasn't she buried???
She may have fallen into a hole and/or it may have collapsed in on her or she may have been in the hole trying to get out when beach combers came by.
I don't know if a beach comber can fill in an alleged 4-5 foot hole in one pass...
But the statement "we don’t have exact measurements.”
How in God's name can you measure weak and shifting sand??? It is the same thing as nailing jello to the wall.
What is the intent, what is the proposed narrative of this article?
Sounds like something your own illustrious Lt Tim Robinson would say. This sissy posts something so ignorant about somebody that just lost their home to fire, " I ride by that place every morning on my way to work its basically a dump". Hate to tell you social media policeman not everybody has a cushy butt kidding position enabling them a nice home in the country with ingroup pool. Everybody wants to be like mike

ReplyDeleteThis blog is sometimes my entertainment. Started out in the sands of Ocean City and comments ending about two employees at Wicomico County.
ReplyDeleteSo true I enjoy being able to log on and read just how dumb some of the local government leaders and their comments will be. Local law enforcement whether it be Worcester county or wicomico and the "barney fife" mentality and comments
DeleteThe city spokesperson on the scene, before the exhumation was even completed, made the statement that it appeared to be accidental. So all evidence thereafter will support the thesis. It was a public communications official for the city, not police, that issued the statement.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone.....
