A Comment Worthy Of A Post 8-24-17
So to all the ones that think they are not being lied to, the chief, mayor, and others say that another firehouse isn't needed in Salisbury (after station 1 volunteers leave as a whole) then, why does the fire chief have two new additional firehouses in his five year plan? One on the north end of Salisbury around target area and one.... oh where could it be? Oh I know, on the other side of bypass by shorebirds stadium. So, why were these firehouses needed in his eyes but, now no no no it's not needed?
Busted!
ReplyDeleteThis is all a power play by the dunces downtown. I support the volunteers and will work to see all elected officials who don't, get booted out at next election.

ReplyDeleteSalisbury's geographic limits are essentially static.
The fahr dept leadership has constructed two palaces in recent years and had info at their fingertips regarding where calls originated and how best to respond to them from their favorite restaurants or the fahrboat. That was when changing physical location of stations should have been on the table. And they did that with Fire HQ once they found a boggy piece of land that they could overpay for.
Now they want to place new stations that nearly straddle the boundary between city and county? Were they not offered the vacant Montgomery Wards auto service building at the mall?
Beneficiaries of this proposal? Restaurants close to the planned sites, and fuel dealer selling fuel for the food rangers.
Crime up, Fires down, send more money to Police Dept. for better pay, equipment
ReplyDeleteVolunteer fire companies are to close for newer Salisbury Stations.Delmar has north and south covered, Parsonsburg has east and west covered, Fruitland has noth and south covered, Hebron has east and west covered. Station 13 will have outside the bypass covered
The idea of other stations in the city have been around before these few "volunteers " abandoned the citizens of the Salisbury Fire Department District.
ReplyDeleteFold the the city up.
ReplyDeleteFunny you say this yet the CIP isn't due until November. And no one knows what will be in it. So in reality you are merely a sh*t stirrer who doesn't know a thing of what they speak.
ReplyDeleteOh but I have the papers showing it .
DeleteNo you don't. There's never been an east station in the CIP and the north station wasn't even brought up by the FD. That was presented to the FD and public works by SPD because they wanted a north substation and wants to open a multiservice building to spread the cost out over three departments. Go home you station 13 reject, you're drunk.
DeleteHoppes and the complete administration of the SFD needs to be fired. They should not be allowed any benefits including retirement. Fire Them Fire Them Fire Them now. This will save tax payers a lot of money that is being spent on unused / not needed equipment.
ReplyDeleteIf hoppes and the administration is fired who do you propose to take their place?
DeleteWell well well looks like today marks another day the city can't handle there call volume. Oh and wait they say there are vollys at station 1 yea they scratched on delayed ambo call . Why is that I wonder . There are no vollys there that's why.
ReplyDelete1:12PM
ReplyDeleteWow! That was an educated statement.
5:55 you have no clue, just flapping your gums about something you know nothing about. Yes there is Allan to build a sub station on the east side. Please keep quiet. Go drink more cool aid.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I'm talking about? I've read the last four CIP's and NO, there has never been an east side station in any of them. And a north station has been nothing but a hope and a dream. I'll put down the Kool Aid when you put down the pipe...
DeletePapers will be posted standby
DeleteI totally support Station 13's efforts and the City FF's can just be fired and sucked up by a county wide service as far asI see. Any other venue will be impossible, as we now see.
ReplyDelete2:15pm
ReplyDeleteI am sure that you have a scanner that you listen to, so please pay attention, and you will hear many of the volunteer stations that have to be re-alerted. Stop making it seem like it is only Salisbury that has this happen. There will never be a fire company/department that is perfect.
It's funny how everybody wants to bash Salisbury but look at station 6 Parsonburg there lucky if they get out before 5 6 7 8 mins and with more than 2 ff's . Their chief is killing station 6 and they need a ton of help. Look at station 3 they re alert every call . Look at station 11 their priceless to . So before you want to bash Salisbury let's make a post of their lack of or ability to respond.
ReplyDeleteThe proposal is for a Fire House in the location of the closed Wendy's site near the bypass.
ReplyDeleteGuess who OWNS that property?
Can you guess?
