County joins opponent list for repealing Road Kill Bill

The Worcester County Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to write a letter supporting Gov. Larry Hogan’s effort to repeal the Maryland Open Transportation Investment Decision Act, commonly referred to as the Road Kill Bill.

The Hogan administration has made overriding the bill a priority for the 2017 session of the General Assembly. In a letter requesting the commissioners’ support, Hogan characterized the legislation as an attempt to fix a problem that didn’t exist.

“Prior to the enactment of the Road Kill Bill, Maryland law already required one of the most public, transparent, and inclusive processes in the country for developing statewide transportation priorities,” he said.
