  1. Yep. Another business gone...but Salisbury isn't dying, Noooooo. We have a Home Goods now to prove it.

  2. It's been gone for at least a month. I wonder what happened?

  3. It was absolutely hilarious listening to Jake day boast about small business success on Monday. Several small business closings lately

  4. I think they've been closed for a while now

  5. Too bad! Their subs really were the best in town.

  6. Gone for a while late to the party

  7. They should have moved up to North Salisbury, not a single decent sub placeto eat up here, meanwhile 3 chains, plus others competing down south

  8. What happened was Jersey Mikes.

  9. Loved that place but hoppers has no parking and picnic tables so I never went.

    1. There are parking spaces located in the back of the building as well. Hoppers has booths atleast 12 of them where you can eat from either restaurant.

  10. Great subs with premium meats but priced to high for the local crowd. They would rather eat dollar menu at McDonalds. Location wasn't the best either for anyone not a SU. I would not drive from outside of salisbury to that location just for a hoagie.

  11. There's another at 13209 Coastal Highway in OC, but that's a drive for a sandwich if you live in Salisbury or beyond. You're right though, their subs are the best.

  12. 649 is correct + add Jimmy John's and you have 2 of the very best sandwich shops in America right now.
    Primo never had a chance.

  13. They had good subs.
So does jimmy johns and jersey mike.

Right now the Subway have a super deal for $3.50
The quality is not quite as good, but you can't beat the prices
    only $6 for their footlongs

  14. Its been gone for weeks......I think only one left is their Ocean City location.

  15. The owner of that complex owes money to people, !

  16. There's still a Primos in OC around 133rd st. Never been there. Maybe I should try before they are gone.

  17. 6:17 now that's the truth!

  18. sorry they closed. loved their subs and cold cuts you could purchase separately...the staff was always polite and it was a clean operation. owner was very nice...

  19. Jersey Mikes is good, but staff cannot get the orders correct.

    1. I eat there twice a week and never have any problems. Usually ordering 4 or more sub's for the guys on my crew.

  20. 8:31 and that is just one of the reasons why no businesses want to relocate or open in this area. Locals are incapable of being trained to handle basic tasks and customer service. Think about every recent encounter with a cashier or retail person.

  21. Jersey Mike's is good....but Red Door cold cut is ridiculous for the price! I will say this though Red Door is getting nastier by the visit....owner had better take back control from those kids he has in there on their cell phones ALL THE TIME, and clean out the deadbeats from the sitting area OR IT WILL GO DOWN ALSO, folks with young kids won't go there with the profane language that is spewed out nightly.

  22. Red door has a similar issue with the closed primos - location. I grew up eating red door cheeseburger subs and still enjoy them, but I will not drive into SBY just to get a sub from Red Door. If I am in south bury and hungry, i'll stop in but not making a special trip there.

  23. 5:03am - Cafe Italiano has great sub fillings, but their roll SUCKS! They need a real italian roll with the right chew.

  24. I recently discovered the Italian cold cut on the Deli at pecan square on Nanticoke rd. Very good quality meat. My only compliant is they chop their onions instead of slicing them and you can't taste the onion in the sandwich. Aside from that it really reminded my of Primo's. Price was good as well.

  25. subway????????? BARF!

  26. Yeah, I can't believe someone mentioned Subway. I have given up on them with their stale bread, and meats that are sliced so thin that you can read through them. And then they put only four slices of that thin meat on a foot long sub. Worst sub deal anywhere. If it wasn't for all the fixings, it doesn't even count as a sandwich, much less a sub. And do not even try to complain to corporate, they will only tell you to go back to the place that sold you the miserable meal that you couldn't eat and let them "make it right." I'm done with them, I have gotten too many stale bread, no meat subs from them. No more!

Too bad a good sub place has bitten the dust, but that's competition. And it's too bad that Primo closed and that it wasn't the Subway just don the Blvd.

  27. If you think Jersey Mike's and Jimmy Johns are good you obviously do not get out of Salisbury much. In my opinion they SUCK! PrimoHoagies is by far the best. However, this is just another example of Salisbury not supporting a quality product. To Mike, the owner of Primo, I am sorry. PrimoHoagies thrive everywhere else. Salisbury is where good food and service go to die.

    1. Agreed. Jersey Mikes and Jimmy Johns are barely a step above Subway.
Primo was excellent. Good meats, great bread!

  28. Red door is not the quality it used to be!! Picked up a cold cut the other day it was nothing but bread and lettuce

  29. 10:24 - BS - You must not remember the subs you are ordering. They have never gotten an order correct. Now I only go when I am getting one sub so it does not take as long when I have to wait for them to make it again. But only go when my son wants sub from there. Hey, wait till they charge you the wrong price - that is a real merry go round ride!!

  31. Newsflash: Welcome to Obama's America! Businesses can't afford to stay in business when they have to overprice everything to pay for all 81,000+ regulations imposed on them. And you don't have customers when businesses keep closing throwing people out of work. It's like a domino effect only they're all falling at once instead of a line up. Basically the Obama economic plan is drop a big fat bowling ball on ALL the dominos and totally destroy them!

I have a coloring book with crayons that has this in picture form for those who are under the Gestalt line of reasoning.

  32. 10:47 You have accurately described the eastern shore but not the rest of the country. I'm now in an area that has been thriving since 2012. New businesses, homes selling for a million dollars just to be torn down and a new house built on the lot, $100,000+ cars and million dollars boats.

  33. 1240 must live in another country 🤔

  34. I had great hopes for 1400, but so far, the bar is the only business doing well. The pizza place puts out a $9.99 pizza that should cost $5. The wings place is okay, but there are better wings to be had elsewhere. I have yet to sample the BBQ place, but the reviews I've read are 50/50.

I heard a couple of years ago that the owner of University Tire was interested in selling the corner for $3 million. If that's close to what the new owner paid, plus the half million or more in renovations, there's some serious debt involved that makes me wonder what the rents are like.

And yes, the parking is terrible - weird configuration and not enough of it to even come close to supporting those eight or so businesses, unless every car has six people in it. I wonder how it was that the County Planning & Zoning Board approved so little parking, unless the applicant fudged the intended use and expected traffic parts of the application. Maybe that's something to take another look at.

  35. Will certainly miss Primo's. They were the best. You can most likely thank the loss of Primo's to no parking. Many times I stopped there and was no place to park and moved on. Who was the master mind of that shopping center with no parking.....

  36. With bar and table seating for 30, and picnic table seating for over 60 (a very conservative estimate), plus the two or three other businesses that are offices with limited parking needs (maybe 12, including staff), there's no way that this parking scheme is even close to being adequate.
The question remains, then, how did it ever get approved?

  37. Red Door is terrible. You call to place an order and are put on hold. I have hung up and called back. I found hair in a sub I ordered, and they mix up the order and they are slow in delivering your order. I stopped ordering any thing from them. They aren't worth it.
