Woman Fatally Shot By Baltimore Co. Police Had History Of Anti-Government Sentiment

Baltimore County Police say the Randallstown woman killed in a standoff with officers Monday had a history of anti-government views.

Korryn Gaines, 23, engaged in an hours-long barricade after officers attempted to serve arrest warrants on her and her boyfriend at the apartment in the unit block of Sulky Court.

One officer got a key from the landlord and opened the apartment after no one responded to repeated knocks. The officer saw Gaines sitting on the floor, pointing a long gun at him, police said. The officers retreated to the hallway, and the boyfriend exited through the front door with a 1-year-old boy, authorities said.

That man, later identified as 39-year-old Kareem Kiean Courtney, was arrested on his outstanding warrant for second-degree assault and later released on his own recognizance. The alleged June assault was against Gaines, according to a police report released Tuesday afternoon. That report is attached above. Gaines alleged at the time that Courtney attempted to strike her with a chair.

  1. Anti-government but I guarantee you that she took every handout the gov't gave her! Especially the free health care for herself and her kids! Oh don't forget about the free food as well!

    1. You are so quick to judge. You don't know anything about her situation. But if she did have free healthcare, free food and whatever else free, it's her business.

  2. So her views justify killing her?
Does a warrant give them the right to forceably enter her dwelling?
They shot first and exacerbated the situation.
Always a justification for killing, never accountable.
Its a fact that it could have been handled differently.

They had a bench warrant for her arrest. When she failed to open the door the apt manager let them in. Everything is legal with a warrant.

They let her live too long when they saw that shotgun pointed at them.

Love armchair lawyers like 1059. They're such a delight to read because their musings are so ignorant of jurisprudence its beyond hilarious!

  5. It's people like this girl that give the whole black community a bad reputation. She was a radical and clearly of not mental well state. She put her five year old in her lap thinking that child would be a human shield. What kind of right thinking person does this while packing a shotgun?

  6. 10:59 yes they shot first, for no real good reason.

1135 if you think pointing a shotgun at a police officer and saying you're going to kill him/her is not a good reason for the police to shoot, you are a seriously disturb individual. You go do that to one of our John Q laws around here and let us know how that works out for ya. We'll be waiting.

  8. This girl had no respect for LE. She got what she was begging for and even in the manner she wanted it. It's sad because she was a waste of life but she chose the confrontation rather than not resisting arrest. Its amazing how many excuses people come up to reason ignorance.

  9. She said in her video in the car she was prepared to die. It seems she got her wish.

  11. There are moments when all of us have anti - government sentiments.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1212 most of those moments don't include a shotgun in one hand and a five-year-old in another. She was a danger to the police, the child and herself.

  13. Very sad regardless. Shame they didn't use gas or something less lethal.

  14. 12:18 imagine that, they had alternatives, but chose to kill.

I am sure our expert on the topic, Mr Coffee will have a response to our comments/thoughts.

  15. 1236 that's Ms. Coffee to you, geek. No, they had no recourse, nor would I ever hoped they'd do it any other way. The fact is she was a danger to the community and the child. if she didn't want to get killed, she wouldn't have been brandishing a weapon, now would she?

  16. You Libtards are all the same. We should have hugged her out I guess. On to the next episode please. Nothing to see here. The moral of this story is be careful what you wish for you just might get it. Kill em all big and small.

  19. This dopey idiot was riding around with a cardboard license tag because she didn't believe in the government. When you shoot at the police expect them to shoot back!

  20. An arrest warrant doesn't mean they can enter a house! It means a cop can arrest if contact is made in public. A landlord can't let cops in! A search warrant is needed! Even though the property isn't owned by a person they still have all rights as if they did own it! Seems this woman stood for her rights and died doing so! A true patriot! Only thing is she didn't take a cop with her! It amazes m how you people think someone who hates our government, cops included ,deserves to die! Be imprisoned. Or whatever you want to say. Yet if it wasn't for actions like these we wouldn't have a country today! People are starting to take a stand! Cops are the governments pawns/offerings! A the first line out there cops will start to be killed! People will not sit silent anymore. Then when th police can't do anymore but die.... the government will send in troops. So forth and so on! History always repeats itself! This is a fact!

  21. @10:26 She was a patriot?? Really? Did you take your meds Hillary?

    ReplyDelete
  22. 1026 actually a warrant is probable cause to enter. I don't know where you earned your $1 law degree but you really should just shut up! You're giving people misinformation that could cost someone their life. Also don't know where you get off think this dissident is some patriot. Agree with 910 you seem to not be taking your mental 💊💊💊💉💉💉 or maybe you're taking too much. Either case resisting arrest, brandishing a firearm with a baby on your lap is a recipe for disaster. There's nothing patriotic to it. It's just an I'm with stupid moment. Obviously her life was in the 🚽 Or else she would not be wanted by John Q 🚔🚔🚔🚔. ☕️🚬
