School Sends 11-Year-Old Students On Field Trip To Sex Shop

A sex ed teacher in Minneapolis caused an uproar after she took her class on a field trip to an adult novelty store without telling parents.

The Smitten Kitten bills itself as “a progressive sex toy store for everyone,” and “everyone” apparently includes middle school-aged students at Gaia Democratic School, an unconventional K-12 private school that operates out of a Unitarian Church. The small school only has a few dozen students.

According to Starri Hedges, Gaia’s director and sex ed teacher, students weren’t allowed to look at Smitten’s collection of pornography, but they were given access to sex toys, and some students even bought condoms.

Hedges defended the field trip as a valuable educational tool.

Surgeon: Caitlyn's pre-surgery recovery 'really amazing,' expected to make full recovery

The surgeon who operated on Caitlyn, the dog found muzzled with electrical tape last week in North Charleston, called her recovery "really amazing" and said she is expected to make a full recovery after undergoing plastic surgery on Wednesday

Dr. Henri Bianucci performed the surgery on the 15-month-old Staffie mix which took about two hours.

CAS officials say Banucci repaired Caitlyn's cheek and lips; originally the surgery called for work on Caitlyn's tongue, but doctors said it was not needed since the tongue was in better shape than they thought.

"Her tongue had sloughed a small area of dead tissue," Bianucci said in a statement. "The shape was roughly that of a maple leaf. It was really amazing. The combination of [hyperbaric oxygen therapy] and cold laser therapy reduced the tissue loss from the tongue to an absolute minimum."

Washington Nationals To Host ‘Ladies Night,’ And Surprise, Surprise Feminists Are Outraged

The Washington Nationals are one of the hottest teams in all of baseball.

The Nats are tied with the Mets atop the NL East standings, and with slugger Bryce Harper having a career year the team finally looks primed to make a deep playoff run. (RELATED: Is This Super-Complicated-Secret-Handshake Behind Bryce Harper’s MVP-Caliber Season)

Still, the left is doing its best to rain on Washington’s parade. Recently, the team began promoting a special “Ladies Night” game on June 18, and I’ll give you one chance to guess how feminists are taking it.

Over the weekend, ThinkProgress senior editor Kiley Kroh wrote that the promotion promotes, “sexist, offensive stereotypes,” and that, “the shallow attempts to lure [women] there with things that are sparkly are an insult.”

The change makes May the city's deadliest month since August 1990, when there were also 42 homicides.

Dollar General Taking Berlin Rejection To Court

BERLIN – Officials from a Pocomoke company whose plans to build a Dollar General in Berlin were denied approval by the town are taking the case to court.

Representatives from Oxford Chase Development, the company that proposed plans for a 9,000 square-foot Dollar General near the intersection of Route 113 and Route 346 in Berlin, filed an appeal of the decision of the Berlin Board of Appeals in Worcester County Circuit Court Thursday.

“We’re not giving up,” said John Camp, vice president of Oxford Chase Development. “We’re going to pursue it through whatever legal means we can.”

According to Randy Coates, attorney for Oxford Chase, the company will be appealing the board of appeals’ affirmation of the planning director’s decision to deny a zoning certificate for the project.

From The ‘Rain Tax’ To The ‘Flush Tax': 40 Times Martin Omalley Raised Taxes

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley will launch his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination Saturday in Baltimore. During the forthcoming campaign, it will be impossible for O'Malley to escape his past as a fiscal liberal who made higher taxes rain over Maryland.

Maryland was hit by 40 tax hikes costing $9.5 billion during O'Malley's eight years in office, from 2007-14. Tax-weary Marylanders made Republican Larry Hogan governor in 2014, bucking O'Malley's lieutenant governor, Anthony Brown, who was the Democratic candidate. Less-patient Marylanders voted with their feet and simply fled the state: Almost 72,000 people left Maryland from mid-2007 to mid-2014, according to Census Bureau data.

O'Malley didn't hit just the rich with his tax hikes; everyone from Ocean City to Cumberland felt the pain. The state sales tax rose to 6 percent and was applied to an increasing number of items. On the campaign trail, O'Malley may come to regret his infamous "rain tax," which imposed a fee on property owners due to storm water management efforts. Birth and death certificate fees doubled, taking more money from Marylanders on both ends of their life.

Ann Arundel County students allowed to use cellphones in school

Anne Arundel County students just got the green light to bring their cellphones to school and use them in class.

The county's board of education approved a revised technology policy Wednesday. Teachers and students will get more freedom use cellphones and other devices in class for learning.

The previous technology policy was on the books since the early 1990s.

"Our policy was very outdated. We were living in a policy age where we weren't allowing cellphones at all, and technically we were supposed to take them from students and bag them and tag them, and those kinds of things. That's not the reality of 2015," school spokesman Bob Mosier said.

Former Atlanta Falcon kicked tiny Yorkie to death & claims he was acting in self-defense

This is one of those stories so horrific it’s painful to report. Prince Shembo, the 254-pound linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons, kicked Dior, a tiny dog belonging to his girlfriend Denecia Williams, so hard it died, then had the nerve to claim afterward it was self-defense.

The Daily Mail reports,

His attorney, Jerry Froelich, said the linebacker was bit in the hand by Williams’ dog, a Yorkie named Dior, when he was putting it in a cage and he kicked the defenseless animal as a reflex.

Dior suffered numerous injuries – including a fractured rib, fractured liver, abdominal hemorrhage, thoracic hemorrhage, head trauma and a hemorrhage in the left eye with internal injuries – but Froelich would not comment about the number of times the dog was kicked.

The Falcons acted swiftly after the warrant was announced and waived the young linebacker.

EMERGENCY PIPE WORK BEGINS JUNE 8 ON US 13 BUSINESS IN POCOMOKE CITY

Repairs Require Daytime Closure of Market Street between 5th and 6th Streets

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will repair a drain pipe under US 13 Business (Market Street) in Pocomoke City beginning Monday, June 8. SHA will complete the emergency repairs by Friday, June 12, weather permitting. Work includes excavation and replacement of old terra cotta (clay) drain pipe with corrugated plastic pipe.

JUST IN: US officials: Massive breach of federal personnel data

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Associated Press has learned that the Obama administration is scrambling to assess the impact of a massive data breach involving the agency that handles security clearances and employee records.

A congressional aide familiar with the situation, who declined to be named because he was not authorized to discuss it, says the Office of Personnel Management and the Interior Department were hacked. A second U.S. official who also declined to be identified said the data breach could potentially affect every federal agency.

LAPD has killed more people than any other agency in 2015, data show

The Los Angeles Police Department has killed more people than any other law enforcement agency in the United States this year, according to a database compiled by the Guardian newspaper.

LAPD officers have killed 10 people so far in 2015, according to the Guardian's accounting. That's twice the number killed by deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which was tied for second with two other agencies. Nationwide, more than 450 people have been killed by peace officers this year.

The Guardian's data tracks deaths "arising directly from encounters with law enforcement," and was put together through news reports and crowdsourcing. The data is an "imperfect work in progress," the paper writes, given that the federal government does not comprehensively track police killings.

LAPD Commander Andrew Smith said that it's inaccurate to count two of the deaths in the database. One involved a car accident and another involved an off-duty officer who allegedly murdered a man after a dispute outside a tequila bar in Pomona.

America’s Future Under Obamacare? Photo of Long Line at British Hospital Creates Demands For Change

Paul Fox was expecting a line when he took his mother to an England hospital. What he wasn’t expecting was to see what socialized medicine looks like face to face.

“This concatenation of misery has been created by administrational and political action,” he said. Those who have connived to create it either do not know what they are doing, in which case they are incompetent or they do know what they are doing, in which case they are evil.”

His mother, Agnes Fox, was stuck in line for 12 hours. The dementia-sufferer was not seem by a doctor and she even went without food:

“People were lying, crying out in pain for hours,” said Fox.

He blames it on budget cuts. Because, much like in America, it’s never the fault of a failed ideology. It’s always because we aren’t spending enough money.

Chart: The most liberal and conservative jobs in America

You can probably guess that environmentalists and yoga instructors are more likely to be Democrats -- and oil workers to be Republicans. But what about flight attendants, talk show hosts, and neurosurgeons?

Verdant Labs, which makes a baby names app, recently published an extensive chart on the average political affiliations of various professions. To create the graphic, the company aggregated data from the Federal Election Commission on contributions to political parties, and used that information as a proxy for political views.

As the graphic below shows, midwives, taxi drivers, flight attendants, park rangers, pediatricians and architects are all more likely to lean to the left than the right. In contrast, business owners, talk show hosts, beer wholesalers, surgeons and Catholic priests are more likely to be conservative.

Westboro Baptist Church Says It’s Going to Iraq So They Can Protest ISIS

It’s easy for Westboro Baptist Church to protest here in the United States, but would they have the guts to protest ISIS in Iraq? It appears so, because when comedian Adam Hills offered to pay their way to Iraq so they could do just that, the psycho church actually accepted.

Westboro Baptist Church, the hate group that masquerades as a religious organization, is known for their publicity stunts, but they may have bit off more than they can chew with this one. After a comedian offered to pay for them to fly to Iraq so they can protestreal Christian persecution at the hands of Islamic militants, the group tweeted that they have accepted his offer. They want to take their picket signs and head over to a country currently occupied by a group that beheads Christian children without hesitation – this ought to go well.

To bring you up to speed: Last week, Australian comedian Adam Hills gave an brilliant, hilarious proposal to the WBC after learned that they planned to – surprise, surprise – picket Robin Williams’ funeral. On his show, The Last Leg, Hills pointed out that the infamous “God Hates Fags” group is quick to march around with signs protesting American hedonism, but don’t have the courage to protest the daily persecution Christians in Iraq are facing at the hands of “the people threatening to behead Christians if they don’t convert.”

Food Gestapo: Grade School Teacher Threatened With Fines for Violating Michelle Obama’s School Snack Rules

Mean Michelle is now turning into the Gestapo with her absurd and unpopular school food demands. It’s so bad now that a grade school teacher in West Virginia recently faced fines for daring to give her children “unapproved snacks” in the classroom.

Sieg Heil to Michelle Obama’s food police

Students and parents are rallying to the defense of a teacher who is accused of violating federal school snack rules.

The Williamson PreK-8 teacher, who was not identified, would give her students “wrapped candy” as a reward for their hard work and good behavior.

Because the practice was an alleged violation of the federal rules championed by first lady Michelle Obama, Mingo County Schools Director of Child Nutrition Kay Maynard “placed a call to officials at the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) to report the incident,” the Williamson Daily News reports.

Maynard also spoke to Williamson PreK-8 principal Shannon Blackburn, telling him about the possibility of a monetary fine for the teacher.

When news spread, parents and student mobilized, collecting pennies to pay the potential fine on the teacher’s behalf.

Obama Lost Tons of Guns and Ammo and 2,300 Humvees to ISIS

Obama gave 2,300 Humvees and other armored vehicles to the Iraqis at a cost of $579 million of our tax dollars. Now they are all in the hands of ISIS after the Iraqi city of Mosul fell.

Along with the Humvees, ISIS got thousands of guns and tons of ammunition given to the Iraqis. By refusing to fight ISIS, it was Obama who essentially supplied ISIS with thousands of tons of war supplies.

raqi security forces lost 2,300 Humvee armored vehicles when ISIS overran the northern city of Mosul, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Sunday.

“In the collapse of Mosul, we lost a lot of weapons,” Abadi said in an interview with Iraqiya state TV. “We lost 2,300 Humvees in Mosul alone.”

While the exact price of the vehicles varies depending on how they are armored and equipped, it is clearly a hugely expensive loss that has boosted ISIS’s capabilities.

Last year, the State Department approved a possible sale to Iraq of 1,000 Humvees with increased armor, machineguns, grenade launchers, other gear and support that was estimated to cost $579 million.

Clashes began in Mosul, Iraq’s second city, late on June 9, 2014, and Iraqi forces lost it the following day to ISIS, which spearheaded an offensive that overran much of the country’s Sunni Arab heartland.

The militants gained ample arms, ammunition and other equipment when multiple Iraqi divisions fell apart in the country’s north, abandoning gear and shedding uniforms in their haste to flee.

But remember… Obama says we are winning against ISIS.

Pat Sajak: Americans So Dumbed Down It’s Hard Creating ‘Fair’ Puzzles on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Pat Sajak of Wheel Of Fortune got himself in a bit of hot water when he noted on twitter that Americans are becoming so dumbed down that the show’s planners are having a hard time being fair to contestants when creating puzzles, ones that they think every one will know and be able to easily suss out.

On June 1, Sajak Tweeted out saying, “As we lose our common culture, one odd side effect: it’s harder to find puzzles on Wheel that are fair to all.”

But Pat is exactly right. As the Democrat Party and their leader–our first communist president Barrack Hussein Obama–attempt to destroy our past with a purposefully failed “education” system and the constant importation of hundreds of millions of illegals and other foreigners who are never urged to adopt our culture, we are losing our nation.

The plan, Pat, is to destroy the USA. You are just seeing a tiny example of that in your show’s difficulty in arranging puzzles that will be understandable to the mainstream of the country.

Obama: ‘I Think Many of the Things Said About Me are Terribly Unfair’

Another day, another instance of Obama whining about something. This time, Obama wants everyone to know how mean people are, because they say ‘terribly unfair’ things about him.

President Barack Obama told a gathering of young Southeast Asian leaders that democracy has led to “terribly unfair” things being said about him.

“As I always point out, democracy is hard,” Obama told the town hall gathering of 75 people with the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative at the White House Monday. “I think many of the things said about me are terribly unfair.”

“But the reason American democracy has survived so long is because people, even if they are wrong, have the right to say what they think,” Obama continued. “George Washington, our first president, complained terribly about some of the foolishness that was said about him.”

Still, he said “it’s important for America to realize we are not perfect either.”

“So we have to make sure we are constantly seeing how we improve our democracy,” Obama said. “The amounts of money for example that are involved in our elections these days is disturbing because it makes it seem like a few people have a greater influence in the democracy than the many.”

Technically, Obama is right — people do say unfair things about him. Plenty of liberals in the media give him all kinds of praise that he doesn’t deserve and never will… but that’s not what he meant, was it?

Obama ‘Reassigns’ TSA Chief After Guns and Bombs Found Easily Smuggled Through Airport

President Obama’s administration has quietly “reassigned” the head of the Transportation Security Administration after a new report found that guns and bombs were easily sneaked past TSA screeners and into airports.

Obama’s DHS reported today that TSA chief Melvin Carraway was “reassigned” and is no longer running the agency.

The acting chief of the Transportation Security Administration was ousted late Monday night after an embarrassing new report found that airport security officers badly failed a new test, missing almost every firearm and explosive investigators tried to sneak by them.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson announced the move, saying Melvin Carraway had been “reassigned” to another part of the department and his deputy would take over, serving until the Senate can confirm a new chief.

Earlier in the night Mr. Johnson had said he’d just been given a classified briefing on the inspector general’s findings that found a major loophole in security that could allow people to sneak prohibited items by TSA screeners and into what were supposed to be secure areas of airports.

Mr. Johnson said the preliminary findings were classified and said it wasn’t “appropriate or prudent” to talk about them — but ABC News reported that IG investigators managed to sneak contraband material by TSA screeners in 67 of 70 tests.

“Reassigned”? Why not frikkin FIRED! Oh, yeah, because no one is ever held accountable in this administration.

BlackLivesMatter Protest Page is Hacked and Defaced!

Earlier this afternoon a Black Lives Matter Facebook page entitled “Baltimore Protests” was hacked and defaced by Patriotic Hacktivist and Info Sec member “iHazCandy” of Consternation Security who is also the CEO of PatriotVPN. Over the course of the last year iHazCandy has become well known for his work against Anonymous groups who intended to do harm to Ferguson Police Officers, and his preventative measures taken to protect the American Military against foreign and domestic threats such as ISIS and Hamas.

It seems the the Facebook page “Baltimore Protests” had recently created a protest event located in Ferguson MO, in reference to the recent killing of Usaama Rahim in Boston MA, who was killed due to his actions of lunging at police with a large military knife. The New York Times reports that Usaama Rahim was under 24-hour surveillance for “communicating with and spreading ISIS propaganda online” and had intentions of “beheading police officers”. The “Baltimore Protests” Facebook event sought to recruit members of the Ferguson community to protest the death of Usaama Rahim from across the street of the Ferguson Police Dept by first enticing them with free Halal BBQ at 5pm, while radicalizing them for protests at 8pm. The creation of the “Baltimore Protests” page and its creation of a protest event in Ferguson should raise red flags for Patriots nationwide. As Americans we should keep a keen eye open for connections between individuals who travel from city to city to protest in places which recently have outcomes such as in Baltimore and Ferguson. The issue of outside and foreign agitators who pay Americans who are willing to subvert authority under the guise of protesting is now in the mainstream of American talking points, and our leaders must address these issues because they have become safety concerns

How Dozens Of Explosives And Weapons Made It Through TSA Checkpoints In 95% Of Undercover Airport Tests

The next time you travel and wonder, “Is all this security really necessary?” try not to fixate on the fact that the security measures keeping bombs off of your plane are, apparently, mainly for show. The Daily Mail reports that the TSA missed a whopping 95% of explosives and other dangerous materials when conducting an internal investigation.

An internal investigation by the Transportation Security Administration found that 95 per cent of those testing airport checkpoints were able to bring weapons through the system.

Members of Department of Homeland Security Red teams were able to bring dozens of banned weapons and mock explosives past TSA agents, who failed 67 out of 70 tests.

Undercover officials posed as passengers with different kinds of weapons, and repeatedly beat the measures aimed at keeping real flyers safe during trials that recently ended.

Unnamed officials spoken to by ABC News admitted that the results were disappointing.

In one test a man with a fake bomb strapped to his back set off a metal detector, but was allowed to go on to the plane boarding area after a pat-down didn’t find the device.

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson was ‘frustrated’ by the findings and issued immediate changes.

Bureaucrats Colluded With Militant Gays to Destroy Christian Bakery

Say it ain’t so. Big Government has been directly collaborating with militant “gay rights” thugs to put the screws to Christians:

The Daily Signal has exclusively learned that the government agency responsible for enforcing Oregon’s anti-discrimination law appears to be working closely with a powerful gay rights advocacy group in its case against Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa.

Communications between the agency, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, and the LGBT organization, Basic Rights Oregon, raise questions about potential bias in the state’s decision to charge the Kleins with discrimination for refusing to make a cake for a same-sex wedding.

In April, a judge for the agency recommended the Kleins be fined $135,000.

Communications obtained through a public records request show employees of the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries—which pursued the case against the Kleins—participating in phone calls, texting, and attending meetings with Basic Rights Oregon, the largest LGBT advocacy group in the state.

You don’t need a law degree to see the conflict of interest.

[T]he Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries commissioner, who is in charge of determining the Kleins’ final punishment, met with Basic Rights Oregon on multiple occasions and purchased tickets costing hundreds of dollars benefiting the advocacy group.

The O’Malley Factor

Martin O’Malley, former Baltimore mayor and Maryland governor, announced his presidential candidacy on Saturday, and said some things that could be taken as criticism of President Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“Today, the American dream seems for so many of us to be hanging by a thread,” said O’Malley, adding “We must save our country now. … Tell me how it is that you can get pulled over for a broken taillight in our country, but if you wreck the nation’s economy, you are untouchable.”

Who is he blaming for “wrecking” the economy? Big banks and Wall Street, not the Obama administration, which has presided over slow economic growth, an increase in the number of Americans who want to work but can’t find jobs and more than 46 million people on food stamps. Last month, the Commerce Department reported the economy contracted 0.7 percent in the first quarter of 2015.

Wasn’t President Obama elected to fix all this? When he promised to “fundamentally change” the country, I doubt most Obama worshippers had this kind of country in mind.

Unlike Hillary Clinton, O’Malley’s chief rival for the Democratic nomination, he has a record of sweeping, identifiable initiatives, which did little to improve conditions for the poor in Baltimore.

Mayor On Cruisin Weekend: ‘I Know You Will Be Seeing Some Changes Next Year’

OCEAN CITY – Local residents stood strong this week in demanding Ocean City officials make a difference when it comes to increasingly rowdy behavior associated with car rally events.

Last month Cruisin hit Ocean City with 3,400 classic cars officially registered for the event and an in-kind number of hangers-on, or “wannabes” as the event promoter refers to them. While the officially registered participants appeared to be well behaved for the most part and attended the event’s official activities at the Inlet and Roland E. Powell Convention Center, the latter group raced up and down Coastal Highway and other streets, dumped trash in parking lots and left a considerable amount of rubber on the roads.

Cruisin’ has become one of the biggest weekends of the year in Ocean City, according to promoter and organizer Bob Rothermel and many business owners. While local residents bristled at the steady roar of the hot rod engines and the consequences of the large convergence, special events drive the economy in Ocean City, especially in the shoulder seasons. Balancing them with the quality of life has always been a challenge.

Denver Sheriff Whistleblower: ’I Was Ordered To Destroy Videotape’

“It was a huge challenge. I loved it and looked forward to going to work every day"

CBS4 has learned that an internal investigation is underway into the interim head of the Denver Sheriff Department, Elias Diggins, and the captain in charge of the Denver Sheriff’s Internal Affairs Bureau after an internal affairs investigator blew the whistle, saying he was ordered to destroy a videotape that showed an inmate being humiliated and degraded.

“This is the definition of corruption,” said Brent Miller, who believes the sheriffs department fired him earlier this month for refusing to destroy the tape. Miller worked for the Adams County Sheriff’s Office for nearly 26 years before retiring. He then agreed to go to work for the Denver Sheriff Department as a civilian internal affairs investigator, brought on to help clear up a backlog of internal affairs cases.

“It was a huge challenge. I loved it and looked forward to going to work every day,” said Miller.

Miller said he was assigned to investigate several complaints filed by jail inmate Christopher Colbruno. Earlier this month, he was assigned yet another case involving Colbruno. Sheriff’s deputies were transporting Colbruno to Denver Health Medical Center for medical attention, but at some point Colbruno defecated on himself and his jail clothing. Before entering the hospital , deputies removed Colbruno’s clothing and walked him through hospital hallways wearing only handcuffs, but no clothing.

SENIORS LOSING HOMES TO FORECLOSURE

Millions of them are straining to make house payments

Al and Saundra Karp have found an unconventional way to raise money and help save their Miami-area home from foreclosure: They’re lining up gigs for their family jazz band.

They enjoy performing. But it isn’t exactly how Al, an 86-year-old Korean War vet, or Saundra, 76, had expected to spend their retirement.

Of all the financial threats facing Americans of retirement age — outliving savings, falling for scams, paying for long-term care — housing isn’t supposed to be one. But after a home-price collapse, the worst recession since the 1930s and some calamitous decisions to turn homes into cash machines, millions of them are straining to make house payments.

Florida Court Rules “Off Grid” Living Illegal

Robin Speronis had been living in an off-grid home for many years without incident, until she was interviewed by a local FOX affiliate in November of 2013

Robin Speronis had been living in an off-grid home for many years without incident, until she was interviewed by a local FOX affiliate in November of 2013. Shortly thereafter, the city of Cape Coral tagged a “notice to vacate” on her property, due to multiple code violations, all of which stem from the fact that her home isn’t connected to water, sewage, or the electrical grid. The city has tried to argue that she is in violation of the International Property Maintenance Code for relying on rainwater and solar panels, instead of utilities.

Since that time, Speronis has been fighting the courts for her right live off the grid. Magistrate Harold Eskins recently ruled that she can live without using water or electricity, but she still has to be connected to these utilities no matter what. Despite his ruling, Eskins admitted to the press that the code may be unfair, “Reasonableness and code requirements don’t always go hand-in-hand.” Despite his supposed sympathies, he still feels compelled to enforce the code.

Nearly $300 million to provide juvenile services for 860 children?

The Maryland Board of Public Works voted Wednesday to defer a vote on nearly $300 million in contracts submitted by the state Department of Juvenile Services after raising questions about the size of the contracts and the state’s need to rein in spending.

Comptroller Peter Franchot (D), who sits on the three-member panel that reviews all major state expenditures, criticized the agency for seeking to spend $297 million to provide services to 860 children, or about $346,000 per child.

Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford (R), who was filling in for Gov. Larry Hogan (R) as chair because Hogan is on an overseas trip, said he shared Franchot’s concerns.

New York Mets Dress Like Prison Inmates to Promote Gun Control

Quite fitting that gun control advocates dress like disarmed prisoners

Nearly every player on the New York Mets baseball team dressed in orange like prison inmates to promote gun control, the political movement that would practically turn Americans into a disarmed prison population.

The Mets posed in orange for a photo tweeted out on Tuesday in support of “Gun Violence Awareness Day,” which is sponsored by Michael Bloomberg’s “Everytown for Gun Safety.”

Black Lives Matter Protesters Admit Plot to Bomb Police Station

Two Black Lives Matter supporters admitted to masterminding a plot to blow up a police station and kill numerous cops during a federal court hearing earlier today.

“The pair met in August in Ferguson, during the protests over the fatal shooting of Michael Brown, 18, by then-Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson. They started talking about buying guns and organizing protesters to “be like an army” and fight back against police, their plea agreement says,”reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Olajuwon Ali Davis, 23, and Brandon Orlando Baldwin, 24, pled guilty on four explosives and gun charges that carry seven year prison sentences.

A growing controversy: Firm eyes Easton for medical marijuana factory

EASTON — A group that specializes in cultivating marijuana for health benefits seeks to set up a medical marijuana growing facility in Easton.

CBD Wellness Group made a presentation to the Easton town council during a special workshop session on Monday, June 1. Representatives of the group laid out a detailed plan to move into the old Black & Decker building off state Route 322 in Easton.

Maryland’s medical marijuana laws were updated in 2014 through state legislation that allows commercial entities to grow and dispense medical cannabis.

John Pica Jr., a lawyer who represents CBD Wellness Group and a former Maryland lawmaker, said the state will grant up to 15 medical marijuana growing licenses, and CBD plans to apply for one.

REPORT FOR DUTY BY REPORTING FRAUD

By Carol Kellam

Social Security Manager, Salisbury MD District Office

In July, with American flags flying, we celebrate our nation’s birthday and the freedoms and protections we hold dear. Although love for your country can take many forms, Social Security takes preventing and combatting fraud as seriously as we take our other vital missions.

Social Security has a zero-tolerance policy for fraud. In tandem with local law enforcement, we pursue criminals who cheat the system by collecting benefits that they’re not owed. This might be as subtle as someone intentionally failing to report income and resources or that they live with their spouse which can result in incorrect payments. Fraud might take the form of someone claiming to be disabled when, in reality, they continue to work. These examples are why we also rely on you — the American public — to report fraud when you see it.
While we can’t prevent every instance of fraud any more than the most effective law enforcement agency can prevent all crime, we aggressively investigate and pursue prosecution of those who try to cheat and steal from the system. Our message to those who would defraud Social Security is clear: We will find you; we will prosecute you; we will seek the maximum punishment allowable under the law; and we will fight to restore the money you’ve stolen from the American people.

We impose stiff penalties to discourage people from committing fraud. We monitor cases closely, and we have sophisticated tools to help us predict where and when fraud may occur so we can catch it early — often before it happens.

Social Security employs innovative weapons in the fight against fraud. Our Office of Anti-Fraud Programs (OAFP) is the newest member of Social Security’s anti-fraud team. Established in November 2014, the mission of OAFP is to coordinate all the agency’s efforts to efficiently and effectively detect, deter, and mitigate fraud, waste, and abuse of our programs.

OAFP works closely with our Office of the Inspector General to ensure that there are consequences for those who commit fraud — even if the act isn’t prosecuted.

Social Security takes fraud seriously, and so should you. In the same way that you might keep a keen eye out for suspicious activity that might harm our nation, we encourage you to keep an eye out for potential Social Security fraud. Some of our most vulnerable citizens — the elderly, disabled children and war veterans, as well as the chronically ill — are counting on you. If you suspect someone is committing Social Security fraud, report it online at http://oig.ssa.gov/report  or call the Social Security Fraud Hotline at 1-800-269-0271.

Smigiel to primary Harris in 1st District

WASHINGTON -- Former state lawmaker Michael D. Smigiel, Sr., will challenge Rep. Andy Harris for the GOP nomination to represent the state's 1st Congressional District.

The Chesapeake City attorney, who served three terms in Annapolis, will face difficult odds running against a sitting incumbent, who was first elected in 2011 in a district widely considered safe for Republicans.
Smigiel will formally announce his candidacy on June 10 at a restaurant on Kent Island, he said Tuesday. The 1st District includes the Eastern Shore and portions of Harford, Baltimore and Carroll counties.

Smigiel, a conservative who led the fight opposing tougher gun laws in the legislature, has had a rocky relationship with Harris.

Hamburgers or Minimum Wage

Puts things in perspective.

For those fast food employees striking for $15 an hour, let's do some math. At $15 an hour , Johnny Fry-Boy would make $31,200 annually. An E1 (Private) in the military makes $18,378. An E5 (Sergeant) with 8 years of service only makes $35,067 annually.

So you're telling me, LaTisha McBurgerflipper, that you deserve as much as those kids getting shot at, deploying for months in hostile environments, and putting their collective asses on the line every day protecting your unskilled butt!?

Here's the deal, Baconator, you are working in a job designed for a kid in high school who is learning how to work and earning enough for gas, and hanging out with their equally goofy high school pals. If you have chosen this as your life long profession, you have failed. If you don't want minimum wage, don't have minimum skills.

20 Predictions Back To The Future Made That Turned Out To Be True

A great man once said, "Great Scott, Marty!"

Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) from the classic Back to the Future movies traveled through time itself in a time machine that he invented from a DeLorean. The movies gripped our imaginations and took us on an incredible journey through time.

In the second movie, Dr. Emmett Brown returns from the future to warn Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) that his life is about to spiral out of control. This occurs because his future son participates in a bank heist. This creates a trickling effect through future history to demolish the whole family and Marty's life as a result. Dr. Emmett Brown's plan is to travel to the point in history where this situation began to stop it from ever occurring.

The point that they travel to is October 21st, 2015. This movie first came out it was 1989, so 2015 seemed like such a far-off date. What the movie did as a result for us was create a painting of what the future would look like. It was pretty inventive to anyone growing up in the '90s.

Even though the movie was making a glorified picture of what the future looks like, you will actually be quite surprised just how many of those predictions about the future actually came true.
