Mosby, Davis Announce Attempted First Degree Murder Charges Against Officer

For the second time since taking office in January, Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby has brought charges against a member of the Baltimore City Police Department.

Mosby was joined by Interim Police Commissioner Kevin Davis at a news conference to announce the charges.

Mosby filed attempted first degree and attempted second degree murder charges against Officer Wesley Cagle for shooting and critically wounding a burglary suspect on December 28.

The incident took place in the 3000 block East Monument Street, when Cagle and three other officers responded to a burglary inside a grocery store.

Mosby said the suspect, 46-year-old Michael Johansen, emerged from the building "holding something shiny" and was shot by two other officers.

Mosby says that shooting was justified.

  1. A shot in "the groin" when the perp was down and the officer standing over him. With the shot fired from a distance of 4 feet, it's pretty obvious that murder wasn't the intent of the officer, but maiming probably was.

  2. The problem is Mosby is nothing else but a liar and it's been proven time and time again with the Baltimore Innocent 6 case, ('legal' knife for example) so anyone would be a fool to believe any of this is anywhere near the truth.
Don't forget the corruption runs deep in her blood. Her "5 generations" of police officers in her family were all corrupt. Cop mother was (probably still is by looking at her on FB)a crack head, father was an armed robber all while they were cops, so Mosby has it out for cops because they caught on to her very bad ghetto family trying to make it as police officers. The whole problem is you can take them out of the ghetto but you can't take it out of them and she is proof with the way she lies.

  3. Don't be so sure 10:28. Mosby's modus operandi is to play lose with the actual truth.
If this case were anywhere near as straightforward as claimed it would never have taken 8 months to charge him.

  4. Pretty soon you won't have any police officers left willing to work in Baltimore. How can you deal with the pressure of chasing down people who obviously have no problem killing in each other, but in the same token practice restraint up to the point of your certain injury or death. I guess you have to wait until you get shot to return fire....

  5. You know this is a crock of crap. If the accusations were even only half true, he would have been arrested on the spot and charged shortly thereafter and not 8 months later.
As stated above Mosby's only expertise is in lying and misinforming so this can been seen right through. Officer is white and more importantly victim is white. She's trying to slither her way into the hearts of whites but it won't work. Won't work because whites have a lot more on the ball and can see what's up with this charade.

  6. This will help anarchy to reign in the city. The mayor and city attorney need to be fired and replaced with competent leaders not motivated by left wing politics for the good of the city. Time for Hogan to step in and get it done.

  8. That's just it. Whites will not take up for a white drug dealer or user unlike blacks who will. Whites see the havoc drug use creates and act appropriately. Black do not. This is why the murder rate in Baltimore 99.9 percent of it black on black has surpassed all of last year. Blacks now must reap what only they have sown and they dare not complain.

  9. She said the shooting was justified...then charges are filed several months later?

She needs a white guy to throw to the wolves, because she doesn't think she'll get a conviction for at least the white officers in the Freddie Gray trial.

  10. The first shooting was justified, when the man emerged with "something shiny" the second shooting occurred when the man was down on the ground. I had to read the whole article because the excerpt didn't make sense to me, either.

  11. The officer is being represented by Chaz Ball super lawyer, and part of the Baltimore Innocent 6 defense team.
The victim has gone to the Sun paper saying the officer was only doing his job, and he doesn't want to see him go to prison. He only wants him to admit he was wrong and lose his job.

  12. 207 more to solve.

  13. If he was charged sooner you nuts would be complaining it was a rush to judgement or some other whiney excuse.

  14. Mosby the NAACP and black citizens will cry racism and injustice at the drop of a hat! There are more black on black crimes committed than reported or discussed. Racism and blaming other people for your criminal activity has become routine. Non-accountability of your actions is the bottom line. If you are a criminal and conduct criminal activity then your actions should be dealt with. The black population continue to disrespect authority and expect to be allowed to do whatever the hell they want. Remember much like Michael Brown in St Louis if you challenge the law and authority you reap what you sow. If "Black lives matter" than improve your conduct and respect for the law.

I am with you 100% on this and I am sticking with you on. I think she is a cop hater and is doing everything she can to put them away. Especially since they are white like this one.

  16. Now the homicide rate will climb to past 450 because what cop in their right mind is going to put their careers on the line like this anymore. Oops another one got away... I'm not drawing my weapon on him.

If you are white and don't want to go to jail that's the way it better be.

    Agreed

Let me guess who the expert witnesses are? That's right, crackhead criminals. Only in Baltimore and America do blacks and criminals have more rights than the police officers do.

The victim is only saying this because he is a criminal with a conscious. He knows what Mosby is doing is wrong and he can't deal with it.

  24. It won't be long and there won't be a white cop left in Baltimore. I had more respect for Davis, but now he has turned into a yes ma'am.
