WaWa in South Salisbury Closes Their Bathrooms

Just to let you know, the South WaWa on Rt. 13 now closes their bathrooms in the evening. It's been reported that there is so much drug dealing going on, Corporate told them to just shut them down at night.

  2. OC's north bus terminal hasn't had running water to wash hands for weeks. It's broken.

    1. We really don't care about o.c.! Or the fact a public bus terminal has no water to wash hands! We care about the fact crime is so bad in Salisbury that businesses are closing their restrooms to customers for fear non customers are gonna steal or rob them!

  3. I do not even stop there during the day anymore. Too many beggers.

  4. I believe the Health Dept Code says that you have to have a bathroom facility if you are serving food.

    1. It never said they were fully closing, just at night. Did you even read the article, or just skimmed the comments? Clearly if you did, you wouldn't have typed that comment.

    2. It's still a health violation. It doesn't matter if "it's just at night"

I think that is only if you have sit down service. If it is take out you do not. Look at some of the pizza carry out places. They do not have bathrooms for the public there either.

  6. It was only a matter of time.
This Wawa, for those who don't know, is a block away from one of Salisbury's least best places to live, the area surrounding north Camden Avenue. Due to the crime and people who behave badly while on the property, the store has, on occasion, closed down to wait for dawn to arrive, when the working class customers start to arrive for their morning coffee.
It's an area that's on Salisbury University's "You Really Should Think Twice Before Living There" list for students wanting to rent in the city.

  12. I am glad there is a bypass so that tourist don't make the mistake of stopping there thinking it is a safe place to get a snack or gas. Good idea to close the restrooms to prevent overdose bodies from turning up.

  13. I used to run in there to get my coffee on the way to work, or get the car gassed up but for the last three years I have stopped to going to this store. There are so many people handing around I never felt safe and I didn't like them hovering around me. I haven't missed WaWa.

  15. I wonder what the people that work at Goodwill will do for a bathroom now? I don't really understand that either - they have to go to WaWa to go to the bathroom - why doesn't Goodwill have a bathroom of their own?

    1. I am sure they do have an employees only bathroom. They don't have a public restroom for the obvious reasons.

If they didn't have a bathroom for the employees, the area around the side and back would be getting "donations" of the unwanted fecal kind.

  20. task force ...are you listening?... go behind thew store and there are generally 3 or 4 County/ City vehicles parked there all afternoon... maybe our Police Chief and Sheriff can find the time to allocate some of their resources to correct both this situation and the drug networking ..who knows it could be inter-related

  23. I used to close my bathrooms at my gas station in O.C. at nights. The drug use, fornication and general horrible activities that seemed to gravitate toward public restrooms were cut to a minimum. Find somewhere else to leave your bodily fluids. Good for them!

  24. It is known as "Getto WaWa" now.

  25. I quit going there several months ago. Nothing but scum bags, homeless, felons hanging around in the morning begging. You really have to watch your back when going there. Royal Farms is much cleaner and don't have to worry about the scum of the earth preying on you.

  26. I lived so close to WaWa when it opened that it was maybe a 10 minute walk. It was a pretty safe place, overall. I got a hoagie there this week, and there were shady people all over the place!
