Man Opens Fast Food Order, Finds $4,500 Cash — Then Gets ‘Nasty’ Surprise When He Goes to Return It

It all started when James Minor complained about his order.

The Virginia man said he visited a Bogangle’s location in Henrico County Friday and received cold chicken in his order.

“I sent it back to the person who was working the window and I asked them to get some fresh chicken,” Minor told WTVR-TV. “And they told me to pull up in the drive-thru and fresh chicken would be out in six or seven minutes.”

  1. What the heck does this man want a $100 for his 10 minutes of trouble covered it, but people are never satisfied I suggest he go somewhere else he is just looking for trouble.

  2. I think he mad about the response he got. You return 4500 dollars and they act like idiots. How would they feel if he just drove away??

  3. Should have just kept the money.

  4. He had me on his side until the end. He didnt have to return the money and they didnt have to give him a gift certificate. You do these things because its right.

I would be more concerned about the possibility that they were ready to call the cops over their own massive mistake.

He was mad because he thought they didn't give him enough.

7:40 Exactly. They don't owe him anything. People should do the right thing and not expect something in return.

  6. Better question is how did the money get in there to begin with?

    1. Exactly what I was thinking. This money was intended for someone, just got into the wrong hands.

    2. Nonsense. They used the bag to carry the mon ey for a deposit. Is it smart? no. But its obvious.

    3. You obviously never had to deposit cash at night .

  7. If the story is actuate to the facts stated I think he was mad because of the lack of gratitude and respect he was shown. I know I would be.

  8. its not about the money. it's about the way he was treated when doing a good deed.

  9. Of course the manager was nasty about it, he was probably in on the attempted theft! He had someone set up to come by and claim he got cold chicken, the other employee was to take it to the pick-up guy, and split the money.

This guy just happens to ask for fresh chicken and they mistakenly take the bank deposit out to him thinking he is in on it.

Bunch of thieves, manager was pissed he didn't get his cut and almost got caught. That's why he was acting all pissy instead of shocked and grateful and relieved.

  10. Sounds like time for an audit by Bojangles' corporate.

  11. The money was probably put in the bag to be taken to the bank. If you were the manager would you want to be seen taking a bank bag out of the store or just a bag of food. Probably not a good policy if you are going to sit the bag down after you put the money in it.

  12. To be carried out by a cashier, not the manager, and handed over to a stranger sitting in a car, who obviously did not even work there?

  13. I agree, if he is telling the truth about their response. That is pooooooooooooooor customer service, but guys come on it is Bojangles. The $4500 was not his and he brought it back, that makes him a respectable person. But believing you are entitled to something because of this makes me feel other wise. Whatever happened to doing the right thing because it is the right thing?

  14. Doesn't the whole thing seem like a set up. If I or someone I was supervising made a mistake like that. I would be falling all over the guy for bringing the money back, just to keep the problem under wraps. He pissed them off by asking for fresh chicken and they set him up to get arrested! The only reason I could figure that the manager would have even the slitest of attitudes would be that it didn't work.
