Maryland State Police Press Release
11/15/2014
DRUNK DRIVER ATTEMPTS SUICIDE WHILE IN POLICE CUSTODY
(College Park, MD) - Investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division are investigating an attempted suicide after a drunk driver, involved in a car crash, was taken into police custody.

The drunk driver is identified as Lennox Thompson, 31, of the 8000 block of Cory Drive in Bowie, Maryland. Thompson attempted suicide after being arrested for DUI on the scene of a car crash in Prince George’s County. Thompson is currently being treated at University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore. Charges are pending for the crash, the DUI and for drug possession.

Shortly before midnight last night, a state trooper from the College Park Barrack was dispatched to a crash on the inner loop of I-495 at the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. The preliminary crash investigation indicates Thompson was driving a 2006 Lexus passenger vehicle when he struck the rear of a vehicle traveling in front of him. The crash injured two of the three occupants in that vehicle.

Military Punishing Officer Who Halted Lesbian 'Make-Out'

At a dance for his unit, a U.S. Army officer sees two lesbian subordinate officers engaged in a French-kissing “make-out” session described by a witness as “full-blown … grabbing each other on the butt, stuff like that.”

Mindful of regulations restricting public displays of affection, he tells the two women to tone it down.

Not wanting such behavior posted online, he waves off several people making videos and pushes down one man’s camera, which bumps his nose.

The new military’s reaction? Convict the decorated officer of violating the military’s policy welcoming openly homosexual members and remove him from the service.

Mom’s Outrage at Child’s School Worksheet on Islam States That “Most Muslims’ faith is stronger than the average Christian.”

The indoctrination into Islam is becoming pervasive throughout American schools – bought and paid for by the evil House of Saud and the equally evil Islamically-ruled, terror sponsoring nation of Qatar. All you need to read is the statement that most Muslim’s faith is stronger than the average Christian. That subjugates the Christian faith, making it inferior to Islam. This is what your tax dollars are paying to teach your children (after Islamic money is taken by these schools) – how to submit and convert to Islam. The local Muslims of course believe this is a ‘good starting point.’

Sheriff's Office Detectives Make Arrest On Manslaughter Case Involving Heroin Distribution

Steven Walter Matzeit (28 Years Old) arrested by Sheriff's Office Detectives for Manslaughter involving Heroin
Steven Walter Matzeit (28 Years Old) arrested by Sheriff's Office Detectives for Manslaughter involving Heroin

On September 3, 2014 Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, Patrol Division, responded to a residence in the 7000 block of Ganeys Wharf Road, Preston, Maryland, for a cardiac arrest, which resulted in the death of Eric Pattison Matzeit (31 years old). While on scene, it was learned Eric Matzeit had died from a suspected Heroin overdose. Due to details initially learned by Deputies of the Patrol Division, Detectives from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigation Division were called to the scene and took over the investigation. Detective Corporal J. Reibly was assigned lead investigator in this case.

Contact was made on scene with family members, to include Steven Walter Matzeit (brother of the deceased). During the course of those interviews, Detectives learned that Steven had traveled to Seaford, DE in the early morning hours, around 1:00 AM, and purchased an amount of Heroin from an unknown dealer.

Steven then traveled back to the Ganeys Wharf Road residence where they stayed the remainder of the evening. Several hours later, Steven traded his brother (Deceased - Eric Matzeit) a quantity of Heroin he had just purchased in Seaford for a prescription of Suboxone. Shortly after that transaction, 911 was called for the cardiac arrest (possible overdose).

A search of the residence was conducted in which numerous baggies of Heroin, Suboxone, and Marijuana were located inside Steven's bedroom. The baggies of Heroin located in Steven's bedroom matched the baggies his brother (now deceased) was found with.

The evidence seized was later sent to the crime lab for analysis and found to have the drug "Fentanyl" mixed with the Heroin. The Medical Examiner's Office found an amount of Fentanyl in the deceased blood as well.

On November 10, 2014, Caroline County States Attorney Johnathan Newell presented the case to the Caroline County Grand Jury. As a result, a Grand Jury indictment was issued for Steven Matzeit, charging him with thefollowing:

  • Manslaughter (10 year max sentence)
  • Distribution of Heroin (20 year max sentence)
  • Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute (20 year maxsentence)
  • Possession of Heroin administration equipment (4 year maxsentence)
  • 2 Counts of Possession of Heroin (4 year max sentence)

On November 14, 2014, Detective Corporal J. Reibly took custody of Steven Matzeit at his residence without incident and transported him to the Caroline County Detention Center where he was held on NO BOND pending a hearing with the Caroline County Circuit Court.

Obama Plans to Wreak Havoc on Economy in Name of Debunked Global Warming Hoax

Even as temperatures plunge across the country, Obama is brandishing his pen and his phone in preparation for an attack on the economy in the name of the discredited global warming hoax:

The Obama administration is set to roll out a series of climate and pollution measures that rivals any president’s environmental actions of the past quarter-century — a reality check for Republicans who think last week’s election gave them a mandate to end what they call the White House’s “War on Coal.”

Tied to court-ordered deadlines, legal mandates and international climate talks, the efforts scheduled for the next two months show that President Barack Obama is prepared to spend the remainder of his term unleashing sweeping executive actions to combat global warming. And incoming Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will have few options for stopping the onslaught, though Republicans may be able to slow pieces of it.

The coming rollout includes a Dec. 1 proposal by EPA to tighten limits on smog-causing ozone, which business groups say could be the costliest federal regulation of all time; a final rule Dec. 19 for clamping down on disposal of power plants’ toxic coal ash; the Jan. 1 start date for a long-debated rule prohibiting states from polluting the air of their downwind neighbors; and a Jan. 8 deadline for issuing a final rule restricting greenhouse gas emissions from future power plants. That last rule is a centerpiece of Obama’s most ambitious environmental effort, the big plan for combating climate change that he announced at Georgetown University in June 2013.

The effects of this tyrannical lunacy on the economy will not be beneficial, to put it mildly. No one could intend them to be. Evidently Obama is not taking America’s rejection of his policies and his presidency particularly well.

British Group Proposes Burying Pigs at Sites Where Muslims Want to Build Mosques

Muslims are famously anti-porcine, so much so that Muslims refuse to eat, touch, or live anywhere near a pig. This is why a pro-Britain group wants to bury pigs at sites where British Muslims want to build mosques in an effort to stop Muslims from building new places of worship and filling the British Isles with minarets.

Muslims in Birmingham, England want to build a “mega-mosque” and activists in the nationalist party Britain First want to stop them–knowing full well that their own government is not their ally in the fight. So, BF activists have a new idea

Britain First leader Paul Golding concocted the idea after planning permission was granted for a plan to build a large mosque in Dudley this week.

He claimed burying porcine remains on the proposed site would sabotage the plans to build a mosque there.

Extremist leader Golding unveiled his plan outside a town hall in Dudley at which the mosque won planning permission. Britain First members were barred from watching the meeting from the public gallery.

Rep. Gowdy Says 'Robust' Benghazi Investigation 'Will Kick Off in December'

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), chairman of the special Select Committee on Benghazi, says a "very robust" investigation into the terror attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound will "kick off in December."

"My goal was to have an investigation where witnesses who had never been talked to before felt comfortable coming forward because of the seriousness of our investigation, and that's precisely what is happening," Gowdy told Fox News's Megyn Kelly Tuesday night.

"So, it is not with a lot of fanfare and there aren't a lot of public hearings, but trust me when I tell you we are making tremendous progress."

Teachers Union Demands Free College For Teachers After Blowing $100 Million On Midterms

Despite massive losses by the candidates it supported, the National Education Association is proceeding headlong this week with its “Degrees Not Debt Week of Action.” The week of political theater seeks to rally support for new laws forcing taxpayers to foot all or part of the college tuition costs for anyone who becomes a teacher.

The NEA has scheduled a slew of events around the country to bring awareness to the quest for college loan forgiveness for teachers, according to a press release the union sent to The Daily Caller.

“NEA’s student members have sounded the alarm for us, as college is so much more expensive than when I attended,” NEA president Lily Eskelsen GarcĂa declared. “We’re seeing new educators with over $50,000 in student loan debt — way more than their first year’s salary as a teacher and much higher of a payment than they can afford to pay.”

How to avoid ‘parasitic mind control’ disease related to cats

MISSOULA — It’s something many of us have never heard of before, but many of us have the untreatable disease without ever knowing it.

Reporter Brin Merkley with KPAX in Missoula, Montana went on special assignment to find out about a mind controlling parasite that can’t live without a cat, how it manipulates personality – and possibly suicide numbers.

Parasitic mind control sounds like the stuff of sci-fi television – but it’s real! The parasite is called Toxoplasma gondii, and according to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 60 million people in the U.S. may be carrying it.

The parasite has been shown to cause personality changes, correlating with mental health diseases like schizophrenia, autism and Alzheimer’s disease.

University of Montana Microbiology Professor Bill Granath says some studies have also found women to be more prone to suicide.

“It’s a very insidious, some of the studies that you can read, how the parasite can attack certain nerves and manipulate various neurotransmitters and cause various mental illnesses. I guess you’d call it…altered states,” he explained.

Fighting Back From the Inside

Elected Representatives Fighting Agenda 21

This presentation will feature two courageous elected representatives who are standing up to the green machine and having an incredible impact.

Carroll County, Maryland Commissioner Richard Rothschild

His was the first county in the nation to oust ICLEI and begin the drive to stop Agenda 21/Sustainable policy. But his efforts have made him a main target for the Sustainablists, the news media and other government officials.

Commissioner Rothschild will tell you what happens after you win! In fact, that’s when the fight really begins. Massive power politics, betrayal from “friends,” non-stop pressure, and misinformation take their toll.

And yet he won reelection with 73% of the vote!

Washington State Representative Matt Shea

Representative Shea organized a Freedom Coalition in his state legislature and set out to enact its own agenda to protect property rights and stop the enforcement of massive regulations to impose the Sustainable agenda.

He too has met with massive resistance and organized opposition armed with huge war chests and political power. Yet his Freedom Coalition managed to enact most of its own agenda and block much of the opposition’s.

And Representative Shea also managed to win reelection.

The message from both of these courageous patriots is that IT CAN BE DONE FROM INSIDE THE POLITICAL POWER STRUCTURE. But they can’t do it alone.

State Added To Resort Wheelchair Fall Civil Suit

OCEAN CITY — The focus of a civil suit brought against Ocean City, seeking $750,000 by an elderly Philadelphia woman after a wheelchair fall, shifted last week when the plaintiff filed an amended complaint adding the state as a primary defendant.

According to the complaint, on June 16, 2012, the plaintiff, Oda Wendt, 89, of Philadelphia, arrived in Ocean City for her first-ever vacation in the resort. Around 7:50 p.m., Wendt and her family left their condominium to visit the Boardwalk and Wendt was being pushed in a wheelchair by her daughter, Astrid Seiger.

After visiting the Boardwalk, Wendt and her family were going back to their condo and attempted to cross Philadelphia Ave. at Worcester Street from east to west. According to the complaint, the daughter was pushing Wendt in the wheelchair when it struck one of the hard rubber warning mats on the handicap-accessible street corners.

Crony Environmentalism

Al Gore, a career “public servant,” reportedly became a billionaire just a few years after leaving his last government job as vice president of the United States. He achieved this miracle, according to news reports, through various “green” business deals. Such deals are always proprietary and few details about them ever become public. They usually involve the ancient mercantilist practice of bribing politicians for a special favor or subsidy. The bribe-giver becomes wealthy, and the politicians granting the favor/subsidy have the funds to finance the next campaign. Let’s call it crony environmentalism.

A rare glimpse of how crony environmentalism works was recently revealed in a November 12 article in the Baltimore Sun entitled “$1 could lease state’s $2.8 million farm.” The article was about an “agreement” to be presented to the State Board of Public Works between one Cleo Braver, an “environmental lawyer-turned-organic farmer” and the state government. Ms. Braver is also described as having donated “more than $40,000” to various Democratic Party campaigns in recent years, including $6,000 in the most recent governor’s race. The same politicians she gave all this money to sit on the State Board of Public Works that is being asked to grant her this massive subsidy.

The “agreement” that was reportedly reached between Braver and the administration of Maryland’s Democratic Governor, Martin O’Malley, was to lease to her a 255 acre farm in Kent County, Maryland that is worth almost $3 million for $1/year. In addition, she will be given $500,000 in state tax money and her proposed “food hub” for the distribution of agricultural produce will be nonprofit, which is to say, it will not pay taxes.

Mikulski calls a meeting of top Md. Democrats after the party’s big loss

In the wake of Democrat Anthony G. Brown’s stunning loss in last week’s governor’s race in Maryland, Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) has summoned party leaders to a meeting next Monday in Annapolis to discuss “victory in 2016,” according to an e-mail distributed by the state party.

The e-mail, first reported by Center Maryland, seeks the attendance of top Democratic elected officials who will still be in office after Gov.-elect Larry Hogan (R) takes over in January — meaning neither Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) nor Brown, the lieutenant governor, are on the invitation list.

“Election results have cast upon me the role of titular leader of the MD Democratic Party,” Mikulski says in the e-mail. “I ask for your help and counsel at this time.”

Mikulski, who will be up for re-election in 2016, asks that no staff attend the morning meeting and says the agenda will include a discussion of “the path to new leadership.”

Anthony Brown’s loss will complicate Gov. Martin O’Malley’s presidential hopes

If all had gone as planned, Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley would be preparing to hand over the keys to state government to his longtime deputy, who campaigned on a promise to build on O’Malley’s accomplishments. The transition could have provided a burst of momentum over the next few weeks as O’Malley (D) weighs a 2016 White House bid.

So much for that scenario.

Republican Larry Hogan’s stunning victory last week delivered a knockout blow to Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown’s gubernatorial ambitions. But it was also a punch to the gut for O’Malley as he continues to ponder his political future.

At a minimum, Hogan’s win complicates the final 21 / 2 months of O’Malley’s tenure as he attempts to shore up his progressive legacy in the heavily Democratic state. Though O’Malley wasn’t on the ballot, Hogan framed the governor’s race as a referendum on a third O’Malley term after what the Republican candidate described as eight years of excessive tax increases.

Story of The Last Post

If

If any of you have ever been to a military funeral in which The Last Post was played;
This brings out a new meaning of it.

Here is something everyone should know.

Until I read this, I didn't know,

We have all heard the haunting song, 'The Last Post.'
It's the song that gives us the lump in our throats and usually tears in our eyes.

But, do you know the story behind the song?
If not, I think you will be interested to find out about its humble beginnings.

Reportedly, it all began in 1862 during the American Civil War, when Union Army Captain Robert Ellicombe was with his men near Harrison's Landing in Virginia ... The Confederate Army was on the other side of the narrow strip of land.

During the night, Captain Ellicombe heard the moans of a soldier who lay severely wounded on the field. Not knowing if it was a Union or Confederate soldier, the Captain decided to risk his life and bring the stricken man back for medical attention. Crawling on his stomach through the gunfire, the Captain reached the stricken soldier and began pulling him toward his encampment.

When the Captain finally reached his own lines, he discovered it was actually a Confederate soldier, but the soldier was dead..

The Captain lit a lantern and suddenly caught his breath and went numb with shock. In the dim light, he saw the face of the soldier.. It was his own son. The boy had been studying music in the South when the war broke out. Without telling his father, the boy enlisted in the Confederate Army.

The following morning, heartbroken, the father asked permission of his superiors to give his son a full military burial, despite his enemy status. His request was only partially granted.

The Captain had asked if he could have a group of Army band members play a funeral dirge for his son at the funeral.

The request was turned down since the soldier was a Confederate.

But, out of respect for the father, they did say they could give him only one musician.

The Captain chose a bugler. He asked the bugler to play a series of musical notes he had found on a piece of paper in the pocket of the dead youth's uniform.

This wish was granted.

The haunting melody, we now know as 'The Last Post' used at military funerals was born.

The words are:

Day is done.
Gone the sun..
From the lakes
From the hills.
From the sky.
All is well.
Safely rest.
God is nigh.

Fading light.
Dims the sight.
And a star.
Gems the sky.
Gleaming bright.
From afar..
Drawing nigh.
Falls the night..

Thanks and praise.
For our days.
Neath the sun
Neath the stars.
Neath the sky
As we go.
This we know.
God is nigh

I too have felt the chills while listening to 'The Last Post'
But I have never seen all the words to the song until now.
I didn't even know there was more than one verse .
I also never knew the story behind the song and I didn't know if
You had either so I thought I'd pass it along.

I now have an even deeper respect for the song than I did before.

Remember Those Lost and Harmed While Serving Their Country.

Also Remember Those Who Have Served And Returned;
And for those presently serving in the Armed Forces.

The Obamacare deception of 'stupid' Americans

How the liberal elites rely on lies to pass their paternalistic agenda

Paternalism is a desperate gamble that lying politicians will honestly care for those who fall under their power. This axiom has been made stark with the controversy arising from a video of Jonathan Gruber, one of the architects of Obamacare, admitting that the administration conned the American public and blaming dumb voters for the flimflam.

Mr. Gruber, an MIT economist, received a $297,000 contract for his 2009-10 work on health care reform and helped lead the charge for the Affordable Care Act. In a video from an October 2013 panel at the Annual Health Economists conference, Mr. Gruber explained how Obamacare was sold to the public: “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically, that was really, really critical to get this thing to pass.” In another 2013 appearance, Mr. Gruber declared that one provision of Obamacare was included because “the American people are too stupid to understand the difference.”

The 'New Black' moves right

The Republican tent broadens with the election of conservative minorities

Last week’s midterm elections were a huge success for the Republicans. Significant gains were made in the governorships and House of Representatives. The GOP also took control of the Senate for the first time since 2007.

It’s gratifying for most conservatives to watch President Obama’s political wings get clipped, and his influence reduced to lame-duck status. They should also be pleased to see the emerging new faces of the GOP.

Death Panels: Another Obamacare Architect Thinks We Should Die at Age 75

Right now everyone is talking about how one of the Obamacare architects, Jonathan Gruber, said it was the huge political advantage of a lack of transparency in the bill being written combined with the stupidity of the American voter that got the monstrosity that is Obamacare passed.

As reported on The Daily Sheeple, Gruber said quote:

Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass

Yeah. That happened. Even left-leaning gatekeeper Snopes had to admit it. Why? It’s on videotape.

Well, another of Obamacare’s architects came out and said something perhaps even more disturbing back in September, in case you missed it.

Rahm Emanuel’s brother Ezekiel, former White House Special Adviser on Obamacare and current Director of Clinical Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health and fellow at the Center for American Progress, wrote a whole op-ed in The Atlantic about why he hopes he dies at 75 because… well, that’s the optimal age to die.

China's climate con is another Obama scam

President’s greatest foreign ‘breakthrough’ would cripple the U.S. economy

Neither the Islamic State (aka ISIS), Iran’s nuclear-weapons program, Russia’s extraterritorial ambitions, nor China’s human rights violations are the subject of President Obama’s greatest foreign-policy achievement. Instead, Mr. Obama announced on Wednesday that he has persuaded China to join in a declaration of war against global warming, or climate change, or whatever they’re calling the scam this week.

Mr. Obama put on a Mao suit of royal purple silk and flew off to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, an ideal stage to present his agreement with President Xi Jinping to restrict the emission of carbon dioxide, the harmless gas everybody breathes in and breathes out. “As the world’s two largest economies, energy consumers and emitters of greenhouse gases,” said Mr. Obama, “we have a special responsibility to lead the global effort against climate change.”

3 things White House doesn't want you to know about ObamaCare, plus 3 things coming in 2015 you aren’t going to like

ObamaCare architect and MIT professor Jonathan Gruber’s remarks about the "stupidity" of the American voter and the passage of ObamaCare is bad enough. What is even more disturbing are his comments about the bill’s deliberate lack of transparency. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest’s denials Thursday were also absurd.

The arrogance and condescension that has too often characterized the Obama administration’s policies have put the American public in the unfortunate position of having to learn about the health care changes the hard way, on their own.

Here are three crucial changes that the president clearly didn’t want you to know about:

1. HUGE DEFICITS AND NEW TAXES. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the latest projections for the net cost of ObamaCare over the next ten years are just over $1.4 trillion. Whereas President Obama promised in 2009 that it would cost less than $1 trillion over ten years. In order to partially pay for this, ObamaCare has added more than 20 new taxes totaling over $500 billion.

2. BUREAUCRACY. Speaking of Orwellian politics, ObamaCare includes 159 new boards and agencies to restrict and govern your health care choices.

3. STILL MORE BUREAUCRACY. Dysfunctional state exchanges with high deductible policies, narrow doctor networks, including federally-run exchanges in 36 states which may not be allowable under the law (SCOTUS currently considering this case).

Ferguson stirred up by feds’ ‘Community Relations Service’

'They go down there to advocate on behalf of the racialist point of view the DOJ has'

Ferguson, Missouri, is approaching the volatility of a stick of dynamite as the time nears for an announcement whether a grand jury will indict police officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of black teenager Michael Brown.

While the deadline for a decision isn’t until January, the prosecutor’s office has said word could come just about any time now.

Which is why Metro Shooting Range manager John Stephenson in nearby Bridgeton, Missouri, told CNN gun sales were up 40 percent to 50 percent. And many people are coming to the range for training, saying they are worried. And Dan McMullen, who runs Solo Insurance in Ferguson close to where violence broke out in early August, told CNN he has brought an extra gun to his office ever since racial tensions skyrocketed following the Brown shooting. He speculated on the possibility he might get trapped in his office and “have to have a John Wayne shootout.”

Business owners are boarding up windows and one Ferguson resident told CBS, “We are getting prepared for war.”

So the work of the federal Community Relations Service, a secretive arm of the U.S. Department of Justice that is intended to smooth out differences and reach compromises, should be helping.

But is it, questions one leading activist.

OCPD Writes 17 Pot Citations In Law’s First Month

OCEAN CITY — One month into the new state law making simple possession of marijuana a civil offense similar to a traffic ticket, the Ocean City Police Department has not seen any real spike in the number of cases or any significant change in how the department is handling the cases.

The Maryland General Assembly earlier this year passed legislation that will make the possession of 10 grams or less of marijuana a civil offense with a citation that can be paid by an offender without the threat of court appearances, jail time, probation and a permanent mark on his or her record. The original bill allowed for a fine of $100 for a first offense, $200 for a second offense and $500 for a third offense. It has since been amended to just $50 for a first offense and $125 for a second offense.

The new law went into effect on Oct. 1 with more questions than answers on how it will be enforced and the possible eventual repercussions on the court system. Just one month in, the OCPD hasn’t reported any significant changes in how it handles simple marijuana possession cases, but it’s important to note the sample size is fairly small because of the time of the year in the resort area.

Congressional Black Caucus Chair: Dems Lost Midterms Because of Racist White Southerners

The Chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus said Democrats got walloped in the midterm elections because white Southern voters are racists.

"We lost because of ideological differences within the Democratic Party and with our Administration. We lost because our party has, to some extent, lost white Southerners due in part to the race of our President," Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH) said, according to theCleveland Plain Dealer.

Fudge's remarks echo those of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA), the Democrat who is in a runoff with Republican Bill Cassidy in Louisiana. Landrieu blamed racism for Obama's low approval ratings when asked why President Obama has "a hard time in Louisiana."

“Let me be very, very honest with you," Landrieu responded in an interview before the midterms. "The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans. It's been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader."

To Fudge, black voters were not the reason for the losses. She urged critics to "find another scapegoat" and "Don't blame us!"

Report: 42 percent of new Medicaid signups are immigrants, their children

Immigrants and their U.S.-born children make up more than 40 percent of new Medicaid recipients at a cost of $4.6 billion, according to an analysis of government data.

The Center for Immigration Studies, a low-immigration advocacy group, released a report early Thursday that found both legal and illegal immigrants and their minor children made up 42 percent of Medicaid growth from 2011 to last year.

Part of the increased enrollment came as a result of the new healthcare law’s expansion of Medicaid to impoverished and low-income adults.

Democrats ‘lied about everything’ to pass Obamacare

Krauthammer: 'Exactly what conservatives have been saying for 4 years'

(TOWNHALL)
Recently on Fox News, Dr. K weighed in on the twin videos heard ‘round the country:

“This is exactly what conservatives have been saying for four years. What we’re hearing now is the true voice of liberal arrogance. [T]hey believe they know the right way—they have to lead the masses to the Promised Land, and they can only do it by deception. And that’s what he said openly…[they] lied about everything.”

Indeed they did. But in this instance, of course, the ends justified the means. It didn’t matter that the bill was so flawed it needed to be amended dozens of times.

Why Do Parents of Public School Kids Put up with These Crappy School Lunches?

The American people pay property taxes that go to our nation’s public schools. There are laws in place that require those schools to supply the students with a school lunch. One of the largest federal funding streams that schools get every year is specifically to provide food to the kids.

So, pray tell, what the hell is this crap?

Darrel Bunch, a senior at Haskell High School in Oklahoma, took the pictures above and sent them to Fox 23. I think that second one is supposed to be a breadstick?

How does that constitute the “healthy” school lunch Michelle Obama says America’s children need to thrive and excel academically?

Berlin Skate Park Supporters Seek Direction From Council

BERLIN – For the second time in less than a month, members of the local skateboarding and biking community entreated town officials to find a way to build a skate park in Berlin.

Skateboards were tucked under chairs and BMX bikes filled the rack outside Town Hall as 16-year-old Chad Joines and a number of other residents — young and old alike — asked the council what they could do to help the cause.

“I want this more than anybody in the world,” Joines said. “I have nowhere to go.”

Joines, a BMX rider, told officials how he had been kicked out of the skate park in Ocean Pines and similar facilities in other areas because bikes were not allowed. Trips to Baltimore and Pennsylvania have provided him with his only opportunities to practice in a park.

Denver cold shatters two records, wind chill warning in effect

Denver broke two records Wednesday.

The city's 6-degree high on Wednesday shattered a 98-year-old record for the coldest high on this date. And, according to a National Weather Service tweet late in the evening, the temperature had fallen to -5 degrees at Denver International Airport — a record low for the date.

The previous record low of -4 was even older, set more than 130 years ago in 1882.

Also Wednesday night, the weather service issued a wind chill advisory for much of the state — including Denver and the Front Range. The advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday.

Wind chill values are expected to be as low as minus-25 degrees overnight, with 10 mph winds.

Red Cross Employee Survey Finds Doubts About Leadership, Ethics

A new employee survey isn't good news for the American Red Cross. Just 39 percent of employees trust the senior leadership of the organization. And 4 out of 10 employees have doubts about the charity's commitment to ethical conduct.

The summary of the survey results obtained by NPR and ProPublica comes on the heels ofNPR's and ProPublica's reporting last month that the charity struggled to meet the basic needs of victims in recent storms and diverted needed resources for public relations purposes.

More than 14,000 Red Cross employees took part in the internal survey this past May. In anemail to employees in September, Red Cross CEO Gail McGovern wrote, "Candidly, the results could have been stronger."

Red Cross spokeswoman Suzy DeFrancis declined to comment other than to say this was the charity's first such survey and that it should not be used to criticize the organization.

"It is regrettable that you are taking work that we are doing to improve employee engagement and using it to criticize us," DeFrancis wrote in a statement.

Why The KKK Is Reaching Out Beyond White Folks

As America's longest-lived white supremacist organization, the Ku Klux Klan has achieved a rare kind of name recognition. You know the way people say "Xerox" when they mean "to photocopy" or "Kleenex" when they mean "tissue"? "KKK" functions something like that, except it shorthands to "racial terrorism and extrajudicial killings."

It's a dilemma that some Klan groups are trying to address by being less, well, Klan-ish.

Back in April, after a 73-year-old Klansman went on a deadly shooting spree in Kansas City, a whole lot of avowed racists condemned the shootings.

CNN.com even ran a story that asked, "Can the Klan rebrand?" (It changed the headline after lots of outcry on social media.)

"Imperial Wizard Frank Ancona was upset, too. 'What this guy just did set back everything I've been trying to do for years,' said Ancona, who leads the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. [...]

" 'I believe in racial separation but it doesn't have to be violent,' he told CNN. 'People in the Klan are professional people, business people, working types. We are a legitimate organization.'

Ex-FBI Official: Holder’s Ferguson Comments Created ‘Rift’ With Law Enforcement

CNSNews.com) – Attorney General Eric Holder’s comments following the fatal shooting of a black teen by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri created a “significant rift” between law enforcement and the Department of Justice (DOJ) that Holder’s successor will have to repair, says a former assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

"We look forward to Loretta Lynch's confirmation hearings to become the [next] attorney general, but there's no time to rejoice. Significant damage has been done and there is much work ahead to undo it,” said Ron Hosko, who is now president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF), a group that provides financial assistance to “wrongfully accused/charged law enforcement officers.”

“I think the rift is substantial,” Hosko told CNSNews.com, pointing out that although Holder received a “polite reception” at a recent international conference of chiefs of police, “behind the scenes there was significant negativity.”

Big Banks Busted Massively Manipulating Foreign Exchange, Precious Metals … And Every Other Market

Currency markets are massively rigged. And see this and this.

Reuters notes today:

Regulators fined six major banks including Citigroup (C.N) and UBS (UBSN.VX) a total of $4.3 billion for failing to stop traders from trying to manipulate the foreign exchange market, following a year-long global investigation.

HSBC (HSBA.L), Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L), JP Morgan (JPM.N) and Bank of America (BAC.N) also face penalties resulting from the inquiry that has put the largely unregulated $5 trillion-a-day market on a tighter leash, accelerated the push to automate trading and ensnared the Bank of England.

In the latest scandal to hit the financial services industry, dealers shared confidential information about client orders and coordinated trades to make money from a foreign exchange benchmark used by asset managers and corporate treasurers to value their holdings. Dozens of traders have been fired or suspended.
