no. doctors don't write prescriptions like that for a trial basis, especially in this day and age of prescription abuse. doesn't add up. doctors may prescribe a drug in small amounts to first see if there are any allergic reactions or if the prescription just doesn't relieve the symptoms. I've seen her drinking on more than one occasion, so she does like to catch a buzz

I agree with you 12:53. By her own admission whether this is that bottle or not, she said her son had HER "prescriptions" in "his car."

ReplyDeleteIf she is telling the truth it would be easy for her to prove. All she has to do is authorize her doctor to release he medical records related to the Methadone. If it was indeed for migrane headaches it would be listed as such in her records

That level of methadone in that dosage is not commonly or even sometimes used to treat migraines (known from personal migraine problems so I called my dr and asked. She is trying to spin this and the only believers are gullible sheeple. Sad...sad....sad.

I tend to think if she were telling the truth, this is what she would have done. Instead she shoots her mouth off about her son and his car and her prescriptions which resulted in more questions, like what is her son doing with her prescriptions at least one of which happens to be a controlled substance.

ReplyDeleteI find it disturbing that pharmacies actually carry such a thing.Why would anyone use a highly addictive drug to get off of another highly addictive drug? Honestly,before this incident I was unaware that meth could even be prescribed.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm with severely debilitating migraine headaches... doctors were wary to even prescribe any opiates following brain surgery. As soon as they could, they put me on alternate medication to get me off of the low dose of opiates that I was put on to recover from surgery.
ReplyDeleteNever once was methadone mentioned as an alternate most likely because it too is addictive. anti-seizure medications, yes, antidepressants, yes, diet alterations and eliminations, yes, Caffeine alterations, yes, adding fish oil and omega 7 to my diet, yes, adding magnesium, yes... never methadone. Doesn't mean that someone wouldn't prescribe it, but I was with top neurologists and surgeons at Hopkins.

ReplyDeleteDon't confuse methadone with methamphetamine. You can't get a prescription for "meth" (methamphetamine), but you can for methadone.
And don't they have the grandson in their home, exposed to this behavior?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you 7:17. I've had migraines for 40 years and have been on the same medicines. Seizure medicine, anti-depressant, triptans, beta blockers, botox shots, epidurals, cortisone shots, nerve block shots, etc...
ReplyDeleteNever once was methadone mentioned. In fact any time narcotics was mentioned it was to point out that they don't really work for migraine. They can cause nausea and you already have that with the migraines along with vomiting if you are like me. Also narcotics can cause rebound headaches.
I did know a lady at one time who used to go to the hospital and they gave her a shot which would knock her out. She had to have someone take her there. She couldn't get the shot unless there was a driver with her. When she would wake up her headache would usually be gone.
But I think that even if Methadone were to be prescribed for migraines the dosage would not be like the pill bottle was labeled. So my answer is no, I don't believe the reason given for the medication.
Absolutely not! Laura Mitchell had to come up with a fast explanation because she certainly wasn't about to admit she was taking methadone for addiction withdrawal. She blew it when she came up with migraines as a reason. No ethical doctor would prescribe methadone for headaches. Several doctors in Salisbury have lost their practice over being caught over-prescribing addictive narcotics much less potent than methadone. Physicians are being very cautious about prescribing controlled substances. If Laura Mitchel has been having migraines since she was 9 years old, then it's an ongoing problem and there would be no point in prescribing highly addictive methadone for a short duration. Common sense.

She is in a position where she CAN'T tell the truth.At this late inning and given the consequences too much is riding on her maintaining her story.She is now gambling on public acceptance of her story.Any other explanation would be incriminating to her and who knows else.
ReplyDeleteThere are some medical discussion boards in which people describe using methadone for debilitating migraines. They then go on to talk about the ramifications of taking this drug. It seems that even a slight decrease in the number of pills taken creates mental problems of varying degrees. They all say that after a short period of time they become addicted and that it is extremely difficult to withdraw from it. I have to believe that methadone is only prescribed for the most extreme migraines that limit a persons ability to function.

ReplyDeleteI fired an employee for drilling a hole in a 500 gallon oil tank while on this drug , it was obvious he was messed up . He told me to call his councilor the following day , which I did , she said he was attending rehab and wouldn't say what drug he was on.
Anyway he did tell me he was a heroin addict and this was the drug he used for cure.

Funny I talked to the States Attorney and others about this and they are quick to point a finger at Joe without even considering Laura Mitchell or her son for breaking the law. What is wrong with you people. Laura is a lying drug addicted Democrat and you are quick to defend her and blame Joe Albero. Joe didn't make you put these pills in your mouth.

I know for a fact they were put in many places without permission because I keep taking them down from my property. I also notice Jim Mathias has put his big signs in front of the smaller Republican signs. These idiots are ruthless and don't deserve to be elected.
