A Letter To The Editor: Foreshame WMDT

WMDT is running a spot on the news about the circus.

Their report centered on the welfare of the animals.

The "experts" they interviewed were EMPLOYEES of the circus, who stated that it is healthy for animals to be captive and learn tricks, don't want them getting bored you know, lying about doing nothing all day!

Nothing like a little well rounded biased reporting by the abusers to state that all is well in animal abuse land.

Shame on you WMDT, for being so stupid. The fact that the circus even has to address this reveals there is a problem.

  1. That mentality is why I won't go to a zoo or a circus.Animals are meant to be in the wild, unless the animal is a domestic type like a dog or cat.Caged animals are miserable.

  2. 9:36 That's where I don't get people's logic. So, it's a "crime" to cage an elephant, but not a dog or cat? Guess they're not worthy? Animal nuts amaze me, with their flawed, idiotic, logic. We're allowed to put a dog in a kennel, while we work, then have it entertain us when we're home. Hypocrites.

  3. My dogs are never ever caged, unless they feel caged inside my house.

  4. 10:15 They are held in captivity, against their will. They may be "happy", because you feed them, etc, but it's the same.

I don't condone the abuse of any animal, but the circus is for entertainment, and like religion, one bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch. If a circus is found to be abusive, they should be dealt with swiftly.

  5. They interviewed the circus "vet" who should resign and give up her license. I believe there is an oath to protect animals.... she isn't doing a very good job of that to work in an industry so entrenched with animal abuse.

  7. Welfare recipients are happy because they are lazy and have no self esteem. The circus animals are no different because they know no different. When you take a free ride on the taxpayers you become a captive of the system and will always vote for a Democrat.

  8. There's a slight difference between a wild safari animal, and canines, who have been domesticated for centuries.
Of course WMDT only put out the corporate version of the happy little circus. How much advertising cash did they spend? As usual.....follow the money, smh
