2014 State Of The City Address

  1. I'd rather go and hear them read Harry Potter. Better fiction than any crap that will come out of their mouths. Will they line up all the tax break recipients, and good ole boys, for special applause for ruining this once great city?

  2. Shouldn't take very long if they're going to talk about accomplishments!

  3. what about salisburys " voluntary" rain tax. what if people don't want to volunteer? are you going to be there joe?

  4. 8:12, I am NOT your savior. It's time YOU people started standing up for yourselves.

So, that being said, are YOU going to be there?

  5. "State of the City address"-It's real simple-the city is a disaster area. There is no gilding that lily. High poverty rates, unemployment, foreclosures, blight at every turn. Like the first step toward combatting substance abuse this needs to be confronted head on. That takes honest leadership.
Oh while I'm sure they will put all the focus on what they perceive to be the "postives", the elephants in the room are still quite apparent.

  6. It's really very simple, all nay sayers and malcontents stay home.

  7. I don't even live anywhere near Sby but would like to go just to watch the show and see who the pea brains are in the audience, lapping up what BS they are being fed. We only get to Sby a few times a year, but each and every time, it's clear, the city is on a downward spiral. Homes in once well kept neighborhoods are now falling into disrepair. Looks like some use their yards as landfills. Vacant commercial buildings at every turn of the head. People begging for money.

  8. Why 8:32 so as not to confront the lies that are going to be told? The problem with you liberals is that honesty is a foreign concept to you all. The lies flow from you mouths so easily. Calling people malcontents is all you have. If in fact you were an honest person yourself you would admit Salisbury is facing major problems. Your parents or whoever raised you failed you miserably. It's not too late to change your dishonest ways though. People who want to bring about real change and voice their concerns are not malcontents. You got it? Is that clear? Now you need to go and readdress your life and get onboard with more forward thinking, capable, honest people. It will do you good and if you have children you really need to readdress yourself for their benefit.

  9. Good answer, Joe! I hope everyone who doesn't want to volunteer to pay higher taxes goes and lets loose on the Idiots! This should be a perfect storm!

Of course, no one will wind up going...What a non caring citizenry we must have.

I guess we'll find out Tuesday evening...

  10. No one with an opposing view will attend. Suck up supporters will attend. Why do you think he holds it at the college instead of somewhere the regular taxpaying folk would come?

  11. he holds it where most of the obummer voters will be.

  12. Should be a very Short meeting.

  13. The other side of the coin is - why would anyone go and listen to their BS - they deserve an audience of zero.

  14. I to think it was a great answer Joe. They should have voted for you instead of the Homo Pansy.

  15. Hasn't anyone notice these press releases and "Invitations" from the Mayor and Council President Jake Day?

Was there ever a press release from the Mayor Jim Ireton and City Council President Cohen or Campbell?

It's obvious that Jake Day was definitely a plant from the Democrat Machine. Jakey Boi if I was you I would clip that Umbilical Cord from your brother Jimmie Boi as soon as you can.

The Troll is awake early. I guess Owe'Malley didn't have anything for him to do today. I be 360 days of the year Owe'Malley doesn't have anything for him to do.

  17. Interesting. I can't recall any time in past years when a council president has been part of the State of the City Address. Of course it has always been a pack of lies presented by a joyous (Ireton or Tilghman) who is like the emperor with no clothes. I urge people to scrutinize and fact check anything that is said...and, hide your money...taxes, sewer rates, new fees will likely follow while they practically give away city properties.

  18. You should have seen the set up job that Ireton, Day and their cronies did at the Dem Club meeting before the last election. Mike Pretel included. It was shameful and dirty.

  19. 9:08 a.m., I did notice Ireton including his choice of council president in the event. Barrie never did it and Ireton never did it with Louise Smith or Terry Cohen. From what I hear, Ireton wouldn't even meet with Cohen the entire time she was president! Don't know if that's true or not, but I heard from more than one wall of city of hall.

  22. Jimbo is using Fake Jakebo to show the Mayor and Council does get along and that they are NOT the Council of No's.

This is so Lame a blind man can see it.

  24. According to the DT's recent poll, jobs are the number one issue with people. Unless and until the politicians get up there and say what they are doing/have done to get businesses to open/relocate to the area everything else is irrelvant/a waste of time. If all you have to say is a thousand people showed up downtown for NYE and this or that new restaurant/bar is opening then you have failed miserably. Quite frankly they should be embarrassed at Salisbury's downward spiral.
