  1. Is this chair person a complete IDIOT, or what!

Mr. McDermott is clearly stating we'd like to keep jobs in OC for local people. When they hire foreign workers there's no workers comp.

Mr. McDermott goes on to explain how the majority of money raised, (taxes) in OC goes back to the Western Shore. Then the Idiot comes back and says, it isn't fair to have one jurisdiction funding another. HELLO, what is OC doing for the rest of the state? Of course OC should be exempt.

I sure do hope you people are listening to this. Incredible.

This clearly shows how Eastern Shore Representatives get treated in Annapolis. Mike McDermot is standing and fighting for the right thing and he is told quote " We don't need your vote to pass this Bill, we have enough.!? WTH, are you kidding me, what is this - liberal socialists strongarm everything their way? Throw these crooks out!

  7. How is this any different than Delmar, MD vs. Delmar, DE, Pocomoke VS. Temperanceville,VA.? Or any other border towns in Maryland? If this exemption went through, it should encompass every town within 30 miles of the State border!

  8. It's part of the big plan government has to close down small business so it can control the big ones.Watch ch47 tonite about the big drug co trying to close up the small pharmacies.

  9. Yes, you do pay workers compensation on all workers, foreign or not. I am not sure where you got that information. if a foreign worker gets hurt working something has to cover them.

They get tax breaks for hiring them and no state taxes are taken out of their paychecks.

  10. Ironshire, I love everything about Del McDermott. You know right where he stands immediately with him.
I haven't listened to the video yet but will but would like to comment about what 5:28 said. Did any democrats come to Del McDermott's defense when that comment about not needing his vote was uttered? If not every single democrat can go straight to hell. Allowing that behavior to go unchecked speaks volumns to the lack of integrity the democrats possess. Those who didn't come to his defense are as ignorant as the jerk that made the comment.

  14. This is all about those folks picking winners and losers by virtue being elected to office and wanting to stay in office. They have nothing to lose by sticking it to OC and surrounding communities. They don't win or lose by their vote. We don't have enough population to move the needle.

  15. It's true that we need workers in OC but, if AMERICANS didn't have to compete with cheap foreign workers for the jobs in OC, the minimum wage would naturally increase to $10/hr. Both sides are talking out of both sides of their mouths here.

  16. Why exempt Ocean City at all? The problem is not limited to Ocean City it's a state wide problem. Raising the minimum wage is going to raise prices everywhere. When you increase cost for employers you increase the amount they then in turn have to charge for a product! So please do explain how raising the minimum wage is going to help stabilize the economy. Go ahead and increase wages then the companies having to pay more in wages get to raise the price on the products they sell to keep up with the wage increase. Oh better yet they lay off people because they need to cut loses due to the increase. The state is creating a double edged sword that will be hard to get away from.

  17. The Public Sector gets free toll over the Bridge so they can come to Ocean City to their second homes --after the Beach season they go out to Deep Creek Lake to their Mountain Cottage -- so exempt the wage there too--
They deserve their Lattes and scones promptly the Latte steaming like they are use to getting from their Illegal Alien slaves living in DC provide for them
