Former States Attorney Davis Ruark Once Told Me He Could Get A Grand Jury Indictment On A Slice Of Bread

I've been getting quite a few comments, (probably one person though) asking me why I haven't done an article on yesterday's Grand Jury indictment on former Volunteer Treasurer Kenny Gaskins.

Look, if ANYONE knows about these kind of proceedings, I DO. Just because there are charges against someone doesn't mean they did what they're being CHARGED with.

Especially when they are talking about a theft scheme $1,000 to $10,000, theft scheme less than $1,000, and four counts of theft less than $100.

Someone is out for blood. Could there be some wrong doing, absolutely. However, until this goes to Court and we see the evidence involved, I've got better things to do.

Maybe us taxpayers should file criminal charges against the Fire Department for STEALING GAS when they run out for lunch and dinner in million dollar pieces of equipment. I'd bet a million bucks you burn more gas than this guy will ever get charged or convicted with.

  1. Quite an interesting view on your part. Usually anytime the FD is mentioned in some wrong doing your all over it. I know why you have better things to do and so do you.

  2. To ALL, I did NOT receive a Press Release on this matter because it was tried by a Dorchester County States Attorney. So don't come after me giving me a load of crap because we didn't have it. It was not tried by Maciarello's Office.

  3. Joe, the saying is you can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. This is because grand jury proceedings are one sided.

  4. Grand jury standard of proof is preponderance of the evidence (likely to have done the deed) as opposed to a trial by jury which is beyond a reasonable doubt.

  5. Good Job Joe! Innocent until proven Guilty! Kenny Gaskins is a good man, friend and volunteer. How can you pass judgement until you see the evidence? I think somebody is out for blood also.

  6. Could it be he was your mole for the Fire Dept?

  7. I believe nothing that Davis Ruark ever said. If he could have got an indictment on a ham sandwich or a slice of bread he should have gotten one on a lot of former public officials that are walking around free now that should be in jail.

  8. Statistically, most folks that are indicted will later be found guilty by a judge or jury. Like it or not, most indicted people are guilty and the ones found not guilty usually get off on a technicality or just weak evidence.

  9. All I am going to say is look at Walter Townsend III's history with the volunteer organization. The volunteers voted to repeal his punishment of never being on the board and now he is president.

Gaskins is a thief and you know it. Everyone in the fire department knew Gaskins was trouble.

Is that Cherry Cheeks? Isn't he one of the clowns that used SFD email to send out dirt on Jim Ireton about his homosexuality? Isn't Cherry Cheeks good friend with the Fat Blogger? I think he, Pat Davis and Gordo were behind those "Homosexual" emails. Ironically Jim Ireton and the Fat Blogger are buddies now.

  13. I don't know whether he did or didn't. I do know he stiffed a lot of people in this area with bad checks and unpaid bills, including me.

  14. I knew a Ken Gaskins who was active in the North Salisbury PTA when my child went there about twenty years ago. This can't be the same one.

  15. 5:27, yep, same one, sadly. I feel awful for his family, who are good people.

  16. The director of Lower Shore Enterprises has also been indicted for theft today. Is there something going around or is this just normal these days.

  17. if I had to go to trial or be picked for Jury Duty --I will either ask for a trial by Judge or tell the selection process that I don't feel there are 12 honest people between the citizenry or the Judicial system -- that anything related to Government is partisan full of liars -- and this whole region is just a bunch of vindictive politicized crooks

  18. 6:56 Go ahead and tell the judge that and see how well that works out for you. I'm sure the charges will just be dismissed lol. Keep dreaming.

Thats what they want you to believe, but if you have been paying attention the last ten years, you would know that is not the case.
