APPROACHING IRANIAN WARSHIPS RAISE EMP THREAT

WASHINGTON – National security experts have expressed alarm over the announcement by Iran that it will position its warships off the coast of the United States, from where they could launch a nuclear warhead to explode at high altitude to create an electromagnetic pulse.

That could knock the American electrical grid out of commission, disrupting supplies of energy, food, communications, fuel and more for a long period.

These experts agree that there would be no warning and that the U.S. missile defense system would not be able to respond in time to prevent the high altitude nuclear explosion. They also believe that if such a missile were launched, it would not be from an Iranian warship but from a commercial vessel sailing along the East Coast or in the Gulf of Mexico.

  1. Could that also explain all of the heavy lift aircraft en route to the US? Some can carry at least 500 people AND equipment, and no one seems to know exactly who they belong to.

  2. We can easily reduce the size of their Navy by two ships...and probably should before they get close enough!

If there's any bad weather between there and here and one of them disappears...don't wonder too much!

  3. More reason to bring jobs back to American soil. Strengthen our waters by getting our Navy back home, instead of patrolling the Middle East waters.

  4. I bet we have nuclear submarines close enough to blow that ship out of the water and back to Iran.

  5. Any outside threat is minimal compared to the internal threat of Obama and his policies. Worst president ever.

  6. 10:04 - you are correct - but I should add that the internal threat is contributing to the viability of this threat!

  8. Since they've clearly stated their intent there is no speculation as to what they will or won't attempt. GAME ON!

  9. 9:58 - we don't need to use that big of a national asset.....three divers from one of the Seal-Teams can do the job....

  10. 12:37 I was exaggerating the nuke, however even if we sent 3 Seals on a covert mission to blow it up, Iran will still retaliate on US interests or Israel. I wouldn't risk the lives of 3 Seals when we have spot on cruise missiles. If I were president, there would be US vessels surrounding them miles apart, Kennedy didn't back down when the Soviet Union tried to place nukes in Cuba. He sent the US Navy on a blockade!

  11. If we get hit with an EMP it will be by the people in DC --not Iran and if it happens and Iran is not obliterated --Obama should hang for treason
