Organizers of the Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge and Plungefest have suspended the hourly "Super Plunges" this morning due to severe weather conditions.
Since Friday morning, more than 50 people who have each raised at least $10,000 for Special Olympics of Maryland, have taken hourly plunges into the Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point State Park
The decision to suspend the event was made after the 2 a.m. plunge.

isn't the whole point to jump in the water when its cold out. Hence the name polar bear.
ReplyDeleteThey should just relocate the event to the YMCA.
ReplyDeleteHow do any of these so called Polar Bear swims qualify as any real Plunge or swim, when no one goes under the water, or swims? This is not like the Polar Bear swims in the northern states, those people actually go in the water, and get wet from head to toe!
ReplyDeleteWIMPS!!!
ReplyDeleteOnly in Maryland. If real Polar Bears wanted to go for a swim they'd probably shoot them to prevent them from harming themselves.
ReplyDeleteThey just rescheduled to July 4th weekend.
ReplyDeleteBig Babies...
ReplyDeleteyou who call the people wimps are ones to talk sitting in your warm home. just shutup already.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly 2:25
