Boy Scouts Open Ranks To Gay Youth On New Year’s Day
The Boy Scouts of America will accept openly gay youths starting on New Year's Day, a historic change that has prompted the BSA to ponder a host of potential complications — ranging from policies on tentmates and showers to whether Scouts can march in gay pride parades.
Yet despite their be-prepared approach, BSA leaders are rooting for the change to be a non-event, comparable to another New Year's Day in 2000 when widespread fears of digital-clock chaos to start the new millennium proved unfounded.
“My hope is there will be the same effect this Jan. 1 as the Y2K scare,” said Brad Haddock, a BSA national executive board member who chairs the policy implementation committee. “It’s business as usual, nothing happens and we move forward.” More
I had gay members in my troop. It was kind of like the military policy of "don't ask, don't tell". I'm mixed on the idea, we have to be tolerant of other lifestyles, but at the same time, scouts helped me become the man I am today. And, there is already push from the LBGT community to have openly gay scout leaders, it's becoming a bit of a slippery slope.

i agree with 2:59. these are kids, and they should be around normalcies(sp) as they are growing. if they decide on their own that they are gay later, so be it. but dont push it on the kids that are not. there are too many organizations as is pushing the lifestyle in our faces. i hate to see the BSA fail, but if they fail because of this policy, then maybe some eyes will be open.

Children of God were destroyed in Sodom & Gomorra, because of their abhorrent, Sinful, behavior, that is not normal, it is deviant and sick! Get you head out of your a$$ and read your Bible, Homo's are not normal, they are sick and degusting! Would you want one doing those awful things to your son?
Can you just imagine the new badges scouts can earn! Mayor Ireton can teach the young fellas how to accessorize. There could be badges for body piercing, dying hair, making earrings, dressing your dolls, doing your nails, running and throwing like a girl, shaving your legs, cheerleading, how to act like a lady, and so on and so on. I could go on forever.

I couldn't agree with you more.....at 48 I have noticed through my life so called Christians are sadly the first to pass judgement......they cast the first stones using the bible as their cause....very ungod like if you ask me.
I propose we now begin a "right to be straight movement" It would seem that with so many gays living in this area we are now in the minority. Can we start the STRAIGHT BOYSCOUTS as an alternative? Things like this just continue to rip this country to shreds. I don't understand why it is so important to draw lines in the sand everywhere. If gays are in the BS I really don't care. It is not something you can catch like a disease. It isn't even a choice. You are born that way. I do believe that this will open a door to freaks that pray on little children and then all the children will really see the evils of a perverted life style. How will they feel about being gay then? Being openly gay does not mean pervert but it is a perverts dream to be around children once accepted everywhere.
What a shame to involve normal young men with this immoral trash. Catastrophic to say the least. So much for family values and Christianity. Let this immoral disease form its own organization and leave the rest of us alone to enjoy our values and our religion.

Jesus didn't like blasphemers, idolaters, shirkers, deviants, so had he came along a Sodomite, he would have tried to cast out the demons in them and force the sinful demon into a pig, but since Jesus didn't come across a homo, laying with a man as you are supposed to lay with a woman, we can assume that the lessons of Sodom & Gomorra had gotten thru to the sexual misfits! Remember, Jesus said "honor and have only one God, the true God, the God in Heaven", that being said, you must follow Gods words in the Bible.
How well has this worked out for the catholic church.
Gay scout leaders should not be allowed. The point is a membership that protect young boys, teaches them morals and skills.
Not set them up to be abused by predators.
Because we all know, that in the end any abuse will be DENIED for years which will only allow it to continue for DECADES just as it has with the church.
If this were about giving young men (badly in need of guidance) an opportunity to be scouts, I might see it as a good thing. However, it is just another liberal progressive attempt at destroying another strong American institution. Look no further than the education system, the military, your church, the media, etc. Just a matter of time until the progressive trash focused on the BSA.
I think we have just opened the door for Child/Predator marriage. It won't be long and it will be ok for men to violate little boys. You can thank a Democrat.
