Spanish Navy Tall Ship Arrives In Ocean City Today

The Dispatch
The 170-foot long, six-deck Nao Victoria Galeon, a replica of the 16th Century Spanish Navy tall ship, is expected to enter Ocean City waters tomorrow around 3 p.m. Organizers are reporting it will enter the Inlet shortly after 3 p.m., pass through the Inlet and and could catch the 3:25 p.m. Route 50 drawbridge opening. If not, it will pass through the drawbridge at 3:55 and dock on 3rd Street. Tours will be offered starting Wednesday at 9 a.m. Here's a little bit of information about how the ship came about coming to Ocean City.  Click HERE

UPDATE
Tall Ship Arrival Delayed Til Wednesday Morning
Due to abnormally low water levels in the Inlet and back bays, blamed at least in part on low tides associated with the full moon, the arrival of the 170-foot long, six-deck Nao Victoria Galeon, a replica of the 16th Century Spanish Navy tall ship, has been cancelled for today in Ocean City. It's now expected to enter Ocean City waters around 9:30 tomorrow morning.

  4. full moon usually means a higher high tide not a lower one. Oh let me guess the draft of the ship is more than 15 feet so it can't make it through the inlet at low tide!
    I call BS!

  5. I thought the melting of the polar ice caps was going to cause flooding and destruction along the coast. Now it's low tides.

  6. 329, the moon orbits the earth, so when it is directly overhead, tide is overly high, then, 6.5 hours later, when it it on the opposite side of the earth, tide is...oh, just forget it. You are obviously too stupid to educate.

  8. How can there be negative comments about a ship coming to OC? How can something positive kick off a downward spiral of comments?
