Award Winning Musician John Fogerty To Perform At The WY&CC

Singer, songwriter and guitarist John Fogerty will perform at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 8:00 p.m.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer has sold over 100 million records earning 18 gold albums, 10 platinum albums as well as a Grammy Award for his album Blue Moon Swamp in 1997. He is a BMI Icon Award Winner and the honor of being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame was bestowed upon him in 2005.

The tour will feature music from his newest album, “Wrote a Song for Everyone.” Shortly after being released in May 2013, the album quickly rose to #3 on the Billboard charts, resulting in the highest-debuting album of John Fogerty’s entire career. “Rolling Stone” gave the album a rare five-star review.

“Wrote a Song for Everyone,” is a celebration of Fogerty’s iconic songbook, including a collection classics. The album revisits Creedence Clearwater Revival hits and also presents Fogerty’s solo material including his remarkable canon of songs recorded in collaboration with today’s biggest superstars from the country, pop and rock worlds. It also includes two brand new solo songs including his new single and video “Mystic Highway.”

Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online at, http://www.WicomicoCivicCenter.org, by phone at 410-548-4911 or in person at the WY&CC Box Office. The Box Office is located at 500 Glen Ave. Salisbury, MD 21804 and open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed holidays).

  2. No offense, but do they really think this has been is going to fill the Civic Center.

My bets are they will cancel the concert before the date. If not they will promote hard the last few days and all the radio stations will be giving away tickets.

If they want to fill the Civic Center then they need to focus on up and coming country acts.

The County Council needs to get all over Gary Mackes for allowing the marketing director to fail at their job.

  3. lol...that "has been" just had his highest debut on the sales chart in his history. Which includes 10, count em, 10 platinum albums. I'm willing to bet you'll be wrong. Fogerty still sells out venues way, way bigger than the civic center. You think it takes much to sell out 5K seats? Think about it, his latest album features Foo Fighters, Bob Seger, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Kid Rock, Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, Jennifer Hudson, and Zac Brown Band. I'm really sure he's sweating about a gig in Smallsbury.

btw, are you even aware of the demographics of the Eastern Shore? It's not 1980 anymore. WY&CC should concentrate on acts with sales history, as opposed to wasting money bringing in acts that won't sell. Moody Blues, Bob Dylan, Def Leppard all were filled for a reason. Not all my cup of tea, but they all sold.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Just because those stars are featured on his album doesn't mean they will be singing with him at the civic center. They helped sell the album not seats at the civic center.
