It’s been been less than three months since I first declared my candidacy to be Salisbury’s next mayor. Over that time I’ve had the opportunity to knock on thousands of doors, meet thousands of my Salisbury neighbors, and present a vision for the FUTURE of Salisbury. That campaign ends today. It’s up to YOU!
The polls open at 7:00 AM this morning. You face a CLEAR CHOICE! We can continue down the same path of lackluster achievement OR …
We can come TOGETHER and make Salisbury a better place to live and to work. TOGETHER we can make Salisbury more business-friendly. TOGETHER we can show our existing businesses that Salisbury is a place to grow and to provide more jobs in our community. TOGETHER we can show potential new employers that Salisbury is a GREAT PLACE TO CALL HOME!
There’s an old saying – “A rising tide lifts all boats.” By attracting new employers and encouraging our existing job creators that Salisbury is THE PLACE to call home, we will improve our QUALITY of LIFE without breaking the fiscal bank! JOBS will allow the city to provide essential services WITHOUT HIGHER TAX RATES. JOBS will foster more home ownership, stabilize and enhance our NEIGHBORHOODS and help to REDUCE CRIME.
WE can do this, but you need to come out and VOTE TODAY!
Our Polling Places Are:
DISTRICT 1: Fire Station 16 – 325 Cypress Street
DISTRICT 2: Wicomico Presbyterian Church – 129 Broad Street
DISTRICT 2: Harvest Baptist Church – 119 South Boulevard
THE FUTURE IS YOURS! Don’t forget to vote.
Thanks,
Albero for Mayor – By Authority of Luke Rommel, Treasurer
Good luck Joe!
ReplyDeleteVote Albero for mayor.
ReplyDeleteGood luck today Joe. Let the positive changes begin
ReplyDeleteGood luck Joe
ReplyDeleteGood luck Joe, Debbie and Cynthia, we need common sense government now more than ever.
ReplyDeleteGo Joe!
ReplyDeleteWe will see if anyone other than landlords are paying attention today. If I still lived in the city and owned a home I would be voting for Joe.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the results.....
ReplyDeleteOut with the Jim - in with the Joe!
Good Luck Joe!
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to point out that there is no mention of there being an election today on Delmarvanow.com. What a bunch of idiots
Joe thanks for standing up for the good people of Salisbury. This will be this town's only chance to turn things around I just hope they have the smarts to get out and vote. SALISBURY time to suport Joe & Debbie the only choice for better jobs and better living.
ReplyDeleteI am Jake Day's age and will not be jumping on the band waggon like many othere people my age. Salisbury needs proven leaders and business minded Individuals. I like Jake Day personally but not as a council member, not now. Salisbury needs experienced leaders with knowledge of Salisbury politics now. Vote Albero/Campbell/Polk
ReplyDeletePeople can't even say "Good Luck Joe" without keeping there name anonymous. That says something. I know this will get deleted, but I had fun typing it. Go Ireton!
ReplyDeleteWill be there to vote today and Joe we wish you the best of luck.
ReplyDeleteEasy squeasy! Got there just before 8, right in, voted for Joe and Deb. Gave a thumbs up to Deb on the way by.
ReplyDeleteHere's hopin'!!!
If Day wins today the people will be looking at a 50 - 60% raise in taxes. If you can't afford to pay the taxes you will have someone else living in your home. Probably a renter from SU. We have Chicago politics happening right here in Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have your home auctioned off it was you who did it to yourself. You didn't vote or you voted for Day.
What do you think? Vote for Debbie
I hope you can change this Joe, just looked on Zillow this morning and they have predicted all of Salisbury's property to drop 2.6% this year, my house value in the city keeps dropping so much the graph looks like a vertical wall!
ReplyDeleteThe value of my house is almost back to the same that I bought it for back in 2003, and I have dumped $30K into it!
I hope you can work with Salisbury Neighborhood or someone else to get some Homeowners back in the city, maybe then more people would vote.
I am voting Ireton.
ReplyDeleteRight now you are ahead by a neck.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I just got back from voting. 2 votes Albero and 2 votes Campbell! Good luck Joe! We hope you win!
ReplyDeleteAnd BTW, we are landlords! Go Joe!
ReplyDeleteJim Ireton is sending out this email lie about Andy Harris. He and Jake day are bought and paid for by outside forces trying to influence elections. The post card or phone call didn't mention Joe Albero at all so you are a liar!! Jim Ireton sent out and email yesterday on the Maryland Democrat Party letter head with and "endorsement" from Martin O'Malley. Why doesn't he consider this an outside force and partisan politics? It's Ok for him to play partisan politics. Jim Ireton is a two faced liar. By the way Jim Ireton you stole my email address and I haven't asked you for your spam emails!! I voted for Joe Albero and Debbie Campbell.
ReplyDeleteJim Ireton for Mayor!
Press Release
April 2, 2013 - Election Day
Ireton to Vote at 11:00 AM at Wicomico Presbyterian Church, Broad Street.
Voters Be on the Lookout for Robo-Calls by Congressman Andy Harris in Support of Joe Albero - These calls are paid for by the Maryland Republican Party and have no place in Salisbury's municipal election. These calls, and the negative campaign mailer that dropped into residential mailboxes last week are examples of outside forces trying to influence this election. Mayor Ireton's record speaks volumes to these attacks.

I notice you didn't sign your name you hypocrite!
To those big Jake Day supporters out there do you think he will be able to fulfill his job as a city council member if elected? If you remember reading the Daily Times article when he commented about his numerous speeding tickets he blamed it on having to drive 65 miles a day to work each way. If that is the case do you think he will be able to take off every single day there is a work session? Do you think his employer will allow him that much time off. Think about it, that is 130 miles a day which means he is on the road over 2 1/2 hours every day. There are a lot of work sessions and budget work sessions coming up very soon. I doubt seriously he will be able to participate in the work sessions. Work, Court, National Guard duties? How can he make that commitment. It is quite obvious that Jim Ireton picked Jake Day to be his Rubber Stamper at the night meetings if he can make it. Jake Day is a bad choice. You talk about grid lock, it will always be a 2 to 2 vote because Jake day will rarely be at the meetings. Don't be stupid on this one.
ReplyDeletedoes ireton have supporters?
ReplyDelete12:57 We will see in about 6 hours.
ReplyDeletewhen do we find out who won?? anyone know?

The polls are open from 7A to 7P.
I've been watching the count.Close so far.Debbie's resurgence is encouraging.
ReplyDelete11:44 AM: 8:23 AM did not wish Joe Good Luck
ReplyDelete11:44 I notice you didn't sign your name either, you hypocrite!
1:35 Where are you watching the count? Didn't know you could do that.
ReplyDeleteJust put my vote in at Harvest Baptist for Joe and Debbie! YES!
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeletei am voting Obama-Ireton!!!
1:35,
ReplyDeleteHow are you able to follow the count? Is it posted somewhere?
Does Jim have support? Yes a bra..
ReplyDeleteBest of luck Mr. Albero.
ReplyDelete65-35% you will win!
ReplyDelete1:35 Bull!! There is no place you can watch the vote count.
ReplyDeleteSeriously can not understand why some people that vote for Joe are also supporting Jake Day. Saw the couple interviewed on Delmarva now-they voted for Joe and for Day. Ugh what is wrong with the people in District 2.
ReplyDeleteHow do we get the unofficial results before the polls close at 7?
ReplyDeleteThis audience says:
ReplyDelete"hoorah for free and fair democracy.....unless my guy doesn't win"
Free and fair doesn't bring Chicago National PAC into a small city election then cry foul. Your mayor is nothing less than a liar and a hypocrite.
DeleteI've never seen so many people driving late model BMW and Mercedes Benz cars at Salisbury elections before. Looks like the common folk are being outnumbered by the well-off.
ReplyDeleteCommon folk......really? Romney would say you were the lazy folk.
DeleteThe county website will have the results as soon as they are available.
ReplyDeleteI seen a bunch of sign wavers on eastern shore drive for Campbell and Day. One guy with a Day sign just had to stand in front of the Campbell people waving his sign. lol. tacky
ReplyDeleteI just saw a busload of people from Rehoboth coming to vote for Ireton. Voter fraud?
ReplyDeleteI saw Day's big bully muscling Debbie Campbell out of her spot while driving by, too. Overweight dude, white hair. Reminded me a lot of Comegees.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Joe!
ReplyDeleteWBOC reporter reporting from polls said mayor race going to be close.
ReplyDeleteFirefighters are telling everyone that Joe is going to get rid of the paid fire fighters and they will all lose their jobs. Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteIf Joe and Debbie don't win, I'm out of this town. The landlords will own one more home in Salisbury. I'll sell at a loss to get out.
Saying my prayers that Joe is elected as our new Mayor. Putting Ireton back in is like putting Obama back in for another four years.
ReplyDeleteWhen will we know the results?
ReplyDeleteStill praying for good results for Joe and Debbie!! Let us know something soon.
ReplyDeleteTalk about a scewed up and munipulated election. There is no way Jim got 1600 votes
ReplyDeleteWell Joe, thanks for all you have done and tried to do. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make 'um drink. I give up on Salisbury...I won't be far behind you on your way to NC...except I'll be going a bit further south. I'll miss your blog. And I'm sure the real estate people and liberals will be glad to see my registered democrat butt leave. Its just a little too far left for even me to stand around here. Best of luck to you in the future...and thanks again for trying. At least you won't have to shovel snow anymore. People around here will just have to figure out how to dig themselves out. (Of the hole they voted themselves into).
ReplyDeleteSalisbury has officially committed suicide. Thankful we got out of that city. Heartfelt thanks to Joe and Debbie for their genuine efforts to try and save the City.
ReplyDeleteThis city and the voters are F$%KED UP. As soon as I can sell my house I am out of here. The two best candidates got screwed over big time.
ReplyDeleteSad day
ReplyDeleteSorry Joe. Thanks for running and bringing up issues that sby needs to work on.
ReplyDeleteAccording to board of election website- unofficial result:
ReplyDeleteJoe Albero 782
Jim Ireton 1694
Sorry, Joe. You gave it a good try.
ReplyDeleteI guess things did not turn out well for you. Come on back home to Delmar Joe. We need you here.
ReplyDeleteI was told to vote for Ireton and Day by my landlord and they promised me.$200 off my rent for May. I love ya Joe but I love $$$ even more.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Joe.
ReplyDeleteThis city, and this country, are too far gone.
I had high hopes that the people would see that you had a vision for this town and would actually deliver on your promises.
I have said it before and I'll say it again.... Tomorrow I would pack up shop and leave a little note on your door saying,
"I am leaving it as I found it. Take over. It's yours."
Looks like Ireton has won. Big loss for Salisbury. Same with Day over Campbell. Why shouldn't the city go in the same direction as the county, state and country? Our entire country is going down the tubes. Not surprising with the number of idiots in the city.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is bent over because we all just got screwed. I'm calling Richard Insley and making him an offer on my house in the morning. He'll get a deal he won't be able to refuse. Good bye Salisbury, my home sweet home.
ReplyDeleteI guess the fat man will now get confirmed fire chief.
ReplyDeleteDaily Slime website reports Ireton, Day and Shields have won. Folks, if that's true it would be Very Sad For Salisbury. Im out of Smallsbery and taking my business with me, starting tomorow.
ReplyDeleteThis town is going to hell in a gasoline hand basket! Prepare for special interest cronyism, agenda 21 "planning", and good ole fashion corruption. This is right up there with Obama. Sad day for Salisbury!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a sad day for homeowners in Salisbury.
ReplyDeletePlease keep this sight running you had my vote either way
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss Joe, or better yet Salisbury's loss.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how many people are eligible to vote in Salisbury but if only about 2,500 voted it seems like a very low percentage. No wonder the entire country is going to hell. The folks with brains are apparently letting the idiots elect all of our representatives. Our system is broken and beyond repair I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteA sad day for the city of salisbury, a sad day.
ReplyDeleteVery Dissapointing. Mr. Joe, you have fought the good fight. You can walk with your head high, you gave us hope, but unfortunatelly there are just too many uninformed and brainwashed folks in Smallsbery. Tomorrow comes and we will have to move on. I just want to ask if you would consider staying and run for County Council Seat? Yoiu may not realize this, but you have a lot of supporters out there.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Joe and Debbie and will still be screwed! Believe me, I wanted more than anything to have both of them win this election especially being a small business owner, I am really screwed with having Liarton and Day running the show. Does anyone know a good real estate agent who would love to sell my house?
ReplyDeleteYou gave it a good run Joe, too bad that the citizens are blind. Then they will be the ones doing all the complaining. Thank you Joe and Debbie.
ReplyDeleteBarrie Tilghman and the Scheme Team are back in office. Salisbury will resume it's land giveaways, TIF give aways and anything that is not nailed down giveaways to only Friends of Ireton and his Scheme Team.
ReplyDeleteJoe, you should have gotten drunk at one of the local watering holes, crashed into the ladies room and waved your penis around. THAT is how you become mayor of Smellsbury.
Once you think you have a step forward in the right direction, your set 3 steps back.
ReplyDeleteTim & Terry should just resign at this point. No need to bang your heads against the wall for 2 more years. If the citizens truley voted for this then let them have it. If your a business you might as well pack up. If your a home owner you might as well pack up. Section 8 will be abound. Now the true agenda can come out.......
ReplyDeleteI hope they investigate JOHN ROBINSON he spent $5000 running ads against you! I thought you could only spend $250
ReplyDeleteROBINSON = 2 FACED A..HOLE.
ReplyDelete11:45, maybe that's why the realtors backed Day in such a big way. It creates a big opportunity to turn over properties like yours. Cha ching!
ReplyDelete
