GALLUP: 60% OF AMERICANS DON'T TRUST MAINSTREAM MEDIA

Gallup is out this morning with a new poll   that contains a damning indictment of the mainstream media. 60% of Americans, an all-time high, do not trust the mass media to accurately or fairly report the news. Mind you, that isn't 60% of Republicans or conservatives, but Americans of all political persuasions.

From Gallup:
The record distrust in the media, based on a survey conducted Sept. 6-9, 2012, also means that negativity toward the media is at an all-time high for a presidential election year. This reflects the continuation of a pattern in which negativity increases every election year compared with the year prior. The current gap between negative and positive views -- 20 percentage points -- is by far the highest Gallup has recorded since it began regularly asking the question in the 1990s. Trust in the media was much higher, and more positive than negative, in the years prior to 2004 -- as high as 72% when Gallup asked this question three times in the 1970s.

UNEMPLOYMENT RISES IN HALF OF U.S. STATES — INCLUDING SEVEN CRUCIAL SWING STATES

Unemployment rates rose in more than half of U.S. states last month, the latest evidence that hiring remains tepid across the country.
The Labor Department said Friday that rates increased in 26 states. They fell in 12 states and were unchanged in the other 12.
Unemployment also rose in seven of the 11 key swing states in this year’s presidential election.

79-YEAR-OLD DISABLED VET FACING JAIL TIME FOR HAVING JUNK IN HIS FRONT YARD THAT HE FIXES UP TO SUPPORT HIS WIFE

A 79-year-old disabled veteran is facing one month in jail for having too much junk in his front yard — junk that he fixes up and sells in order to keep his home and buy medicine for his wife, the Rock Hill Herald reported  .
John Ramsey was first convicted in January of keeping junk in his front yard, a misdemeanor offense in the small rural town of Clover, S.C. He was ordered to clean it up, or face 30 days in jail. He cleaned it up.
But last month, the court ruled Ramsey‘s cleanup effort wasn’t good enough. He was held in contempt and given two weeks to pay $500. Ramsey — living on $898 a month in Social Security and veterans benefits — didn’t have $500, so when the deadline passed he went to the police department to turn himself in. Instead, town officials told him he had a hearing on Monday to determine whether he should go to jail for being unable to pay his fine.

HERE IS ROMNEY’S OFFICIAL 2011 TAX RETURN

Mitt Romney paid $1.95 million in federal income taxes on 2011′s investment income of $13.7 million, meaning his effective tax rate was 14.1 percent.
In 2010, Romney paid nearly $3 million in federal income taxes on his 2010 investment income of $21.7 million, meaning his effective tax rate was 13.9 percent.
Of course, the Republican presidential candidate’s tax rate for both years was pushed downwards by the amount he donated to charity.

ANTI-SEMITIC VANDALS CAUSE $100,000 DAMAGE TO LANSKY’S DELI

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A Jewish deli was ransacked by vandals who spray-painted ugly messages on the walls. It happened right during the High Holy days. They papered over the windows Thursday to hide the damage inside Lansky’s Deli on Columbus Avenue. “It was devastating. We put our heart into this restaurant,” owner David Ruggerio told CBS 2′s Tony Aiello. Ruggerio found the mess Wednesday morning. Computers, televisions and light fixtures were all smashed, and leather seats were slashed and a trophy case was trashed. Cell phone video shows broken dishes and the espresso machine thrown to the ground. Chunks of the ceiling were torn down and littered the floor. Most upsetting were messages sprayed on the walls, including anti-Jewish slurs that Ruggerio quickly ordered painted over.

“The vandalism was one thing, defamation was different. It was very, very hideous things written on the wall. There was urination all over the restaurant,” Ruggerio said. Ruggerio is not Jewish but his 94-year-old partner is. The vandals struck Tuesday night, just after the end of Rosh Hashanah.

“Feibush…submitted seven written requests for either owning or leasing the parcel, has called the [redevelopment] authority 24 times and has visited its office four times,” according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
Finally, fed up before the grand opening of his new coffee shop, Feibush decided to clean the lot himself.

WHY DO THEY HATE US? IT’S A PRETTY LONG LIST…

  • TheBlaze consults experts to glean insight into why Islamists and even a contingent of secular Muslims across the Middle East harbor such animus for America
  • The reasons cited include: Anti-Semitism, U.S. drone attacks, slandering Islam, different views on personal freedom, a belief that America sides with dictators (i.e. late Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak), the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, a belief that America is raping the Middle East of its natural resources and is trying to take over the region.
With the turmoil in the Middle East reaching a fever pitch, everyday people in the U.S. have, at one point or another, likely found themselves wondering: “Why? What do Muslims abroad really have against us? Why do they hate us?”

GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY REMINDS MARYLANDERS THAT SEPTEMBER IS SICKLE CELL AWARENESS MONTH

Event to be held at Sojourner-Douglass College Saturday, September 22 ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 21, 2012) – Governor Martin O’Malley is reminding Marylanders that September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month. The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) is educating employees and health care providers, and participating in community events to educate the public about the disease that affects more than 3,000 Marylanders. Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) is a genetic disorder that causes red blood cells to lose their shape, leading to many complications, including bouts of pain caused by poor blood flow, infections, stroke, lung disease and kidney disease. SCD affects mostly African Americans but also Hispanics and those of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean descent. DHMH is celebrating National Sickle Cell Awareness Month at an awareness and education event tomorrow, Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. on the Baltimore Campus of Sojourner-Douglass College, 200 N. Central Avenue. The event will feature the national poster child and local spokesperson for Faces of Our Children, as well as local advocates and health care providers. In 1983, the House of Representatives unanimously passed a resolution designating September as National Sickle Cell Awareness Month. For more information about Sickle Cell, resources, and a listing of community events this month, please visit the Office for Genetics and People with Special Health Care Needs web site here. Johnson: Bring Troops, Dollars Home From Afghanistan

Sept. 19, 2012, Durham, NH — Calling Tuesday’s announcement that the U.S. and NATO are essentially suspending joint operations with Afghan forces a “long-overdue acknowledgement of reality,” presidential candidate and former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson today called on President Obama to “bring our troops home now.” Appearing at an event at the University of New Hampshire, Gov. Johnson said, “In recent weeks, we have witnessed the unspeakable tragedy of American service members being murdered by the very ‘security forces’ they are training. More than 50 international military personnel have been killed by Afghan forces this year alone, and we have already had to stop trying to ‘train’ Afghan police recruits. More

Governors Whom Martin O'Malley Attacked This Year, Grew More Jobs Than Martin O'Malley Did This Year

Annapolis - Governor Martin O'Malley, a partisan campaign surrogate for Barack Obama who is laying the groundwork for his own Presidential aspirations in 2016, has attacked eight other governors this year - in their home states, on Sunday talk shows and during the Democratic National Convention. All eight of these governors have created more jobs this year than Governor O'Malley has. This does not stop the Maryland governor from boasting about economic performance, however. In recent remarks in Iowa, O'Malley said, “We are the party that grows our economy; they are the party that wrecked our economy.” This false statement is borne out today in the latest August employment numbers released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that show Maryland's loss of nearly 7000 jobs this year is worse than Florida, Ohio, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Virginia, Texas, New Jersey and Maine. In some cases it is much worse. For example, under Gov. John Kasich, Ohio has created 68,300 jobs this year; Florida Gov. Rick Scott, 50,500 jobs; and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, 26,200 jobs. So far this year under Gov. Rick Perry, the Lone Star state has created 140,000 more jobs than Maryland, which some have dubbed the "Fee State" as opposed to the official "Free State." "Martin O'Malley has no credibility whatsoever talking about jobs," said Change Maryland Chairman Larry Hogan. "What he can talk about, but chooses not to, are the 24 taxes and fees he has raised since taking office which remove $2.4 billion annually from the pockets of struggling Marylanders." In addition to attacking other Governors, it is widely known that Maryland fails to compete on job growth with neighboring states since O'Malley took office. "We are lagging in job growth in the region and are simply not competing with our neighbors," said Hogan. "This year's performance on job growth only continues the abysmal results we've seen going back to 2007." On a percentage basis of jobs lost, Maryland's decline of 1.4% since January of 2007 is the second-worst in the region after Delaware. Change Maryland, a non-partisan, grassroots organization with 22,000 followers, advocates for fiscal responsibility and restoring economic performance.

Decentralize Or Die!

The single most often broached argument that Liberty Movement writers, analysts, and strategists are confronted with by skeptics alongside well meaning but cynical newcomers is the assertion that while we happen to be very effective at pointing out the dangers of globalism and centralization, we rarely seem to take the initiative to offer “solutions” to the problem. This same argument is also used by establishment shills as a way to distract the public’s attentions from the very real despotic enterprises of their elitist employers. It is an often used disinformation tactic; demand that those who expose the truth of a criminal enterprise also offer an all encompassing solution to the complex dilemma. When the truth-tellers cannot present a neatly packaged miracle on a gold plated platter, the shills claim that their exposures of wrongdoing are meaningless, because they can do nothing about it anyway. And thus, the cycle continues… In reality, the contention that the Liberty Movement offers no solutions is entirely false. We have constructed many. The problem is that these solutions are not the kind that the general American public wants to entertain. The average person desires a “silver bullet” answer to every crisis. They want quick, they want easy, and most of all, they want to sit back and relax while this silver bullet is set in motion by someone other than themselves. The best and most practical solutions are almost never easy. They require time, overwhelming effort, and painful sacrifice. It is a law of nature; the weight of an obstacle must be met with equal or greater energy to be removed. The greater the enemy, the greater the cost. There is no such thing as a “silver bullet” or an easy way out. Yes, the Liberty Movement offers answers, but many people refuse to hear them. When it comes to violent centralization and collectivism in the form of totalitarian rule, our options are indeed limited. The masses often pursue politics first, because it is much easier to hand one’s responsibility and vigilance over to a leader instead of taking on the monster alone. It is much easier to “hope” for “change”, rather than take matters into our own hands and struggle through the mire and pitch of our thoroughly corrupt system. Of course, politics is a game, a game that can be controlled by the very same despicable men we wish to dethrone. Next is civil disobedience, which is useful to a point, as long as the offending government deems it necessary to APPEAR fair and just. When the oligarchy no longer needs to play good cop, simple protest and activism falls apart. In the face of unrelenting malice and destructive subjugation, waving signs and chanting phrases is utterly senseless. More

Tim Pawlenty to Head U.S. Bank Lobbying Group

We always ultimately see where their loyalty lies when it comes to these guys.  Can’t win the Presidency?  No problem!  Become a whore for the banksters that blew up the economy and now continue to parasitically suck the lifeblood out of it each and every day.  I’ve said it before and I will say it again, there is almost no form of life at the moment lower that a United States politician.
From Reuters:
(Reuters) – Former Republican presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty will become the head of the Financial Services Roundtable, a U.S. bank lobbying group that represents JP Morgan Chase & Co and Wells Fargo & Co, among other financial companies, the group said on Thursday.
As the industry’s top lobbyist, he will play a major role in the industry’s efforts to make new Dodd-Frank rules, which Congress passed in 2010 in response to the 2007-2009 financial crisis, more favorable for Wall Street as regulators implement the law.

Sept. 20 Gallup Poll: Obama Vs. Romney

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has pulled into a tie with President Barack Obama in the latest Gallup daily tracking poll. It's the best position for Romney in the poll since Aug. 27, when he led Obama by a point heading into the Republican National Convention. On Wednesday, he trailed Obama by a point. Also significant: Obama's approval rating dropped to 46 percent, well below the "safe" 50 percent level for re-election. His disapproval rating is back up to 48 percent. The other national tracking poll, Rasmussen, has Obama up by 2 today: 47 percent to 45 percent. Reuters/Ipsos — which recently began its own tracking poll — had Obama up 5 on Thursday. More

What Should Freedom Lovers Do?

How can one combine professional life with the advancement of liberty? Of course it is presumptuous to offer a definitive answer since all jobs and careers in the market economy are subject to the forces of the division of labor. Because a person focuses on one task doesn't mean that he or she isn't great at many tasks; it means only that the highest productive gains for everyone come from dividing tasks up among many people of a wide range of talents. So it is with the freedom movement. The more of us there are, the more we do well to specialize, to cooperate through exchange, to boost our impact by dividing the labor. There is no way to know in advance what is right for any person in particular. There are so many wonderful paths from which to choose (and which I will discuss below). But this much we can know. The usual answer – go into government – is wrongheaded. Too many good minds have been corrupted and lost by following this fateful course. It often happens that an ideological movement will make great strides through education and organization and cultural influence, only to take the illogical leap of believing that politics and political influence, which usually means taking jobs within the bureaucracy, is the next rung on the ladder to success. This is like trying to fight a fire with matches and gasoline. This is what happened to the Christian right in the 1980s. They got involved in politics in order to throw off the yoke of the state. Twenty years later, many of these people are working in the Department of Education or for the White House, doing the prep work to amend the Constitution or invade some foreign country. This is a disastrous waste of intellectual capital. More

FL-High-HUD-Rentals…This large home in a gated community in Coral Springs… (Sun Sentinel ) September 13, 2012|By Megan O’Matz, Sun Sentinel Here’s an odd side effect of South Florida’s foreclosure crisis: Some immense homes with pools and three-car garages in gated communities are being rented out to unlikely tenants — poor people paying with Section 8 aid. Among the properties are homes with up to 4,500 square feet of space in private communities with guardhouses and regal names such as “Monarch Lakes” and “Bellagio at Vizcaya.” Some of the owners are teetering on foreclosure and gambling they can earn enough money from the federal housing vouchers to stave off the banks. Others bought the properties cheap in foreclosure auctions and want the guaranteed rental income. Housing advocates and the government view the turnabout as a win-win for homeowners and the poor, who have access to safer communities and better schools. But some neighbors are aghast. More

Carriage Rides On Boardwalk To Begin In October

The Ocean City Council moved Monday to proceed with a plan to bring horse-drawn carriage rides to the Boardwalk during the off-season, using the same vendor that provides the service to Berlin.

Randy Davis, of Salisbury’s R&B Ranch, first went to then-interim city manager and Mayor Rick Meehan with the idea in May. Since receiving preliminary support from council, Davis has been working for the past few months with the assistance of the Public Works Director Hal Adkins on coordinating the logistics.

Adkins’ and Davis’ final plan, developed with the Ocean City Development Corporation, the State Highway Administration and the city’s Special Events department, would involve two routes.

QUOTES OF THE DAY 9-21-12

Every law and every regulation is a price-fix of sorts and generates – for some service or some product – a queue, a shortage or a forcible redistribution of resources. Anthony Wile There is only one reason for the forcible transference of decision-making authority over important areas of our private lives to elite decision-makers in Congress and government bureaucracies. Doing so confers control, power, wealth and revenue to society’s elite. Walter Williams And thus the community perpetually retains a supreme power of saving themselves from the attempts and designs of anybody, even of their legislators, whenever they shall be so foolish, or so wicked, as to lay and carry on designs against the liberties and properties of the subject. WH, Congress Keep $1.6B Aid To Egypt Flowing

WASHINGTON (AP) — As anti-American sentiment boils in Islamic countries like Egypt, lawmakers are moving to permit billions of dollars in U.S. foreign aid under a government-wide funding bill set to clear Congress this week. In the case of Egypt, turmoil since the overthrow of U.S. ally President Hosni Mubarak early last year has delayed the release of hundreds of millions of dollars in economic aid that has been approved over several years… So Congress is managing to continue to give Egypt our annual tribute of $1.6 billion dollars. (And bear in mind that this is not Obama’s attempt to give Egypt an additional $1 billion dollars in ‘debt forgiveness,’ which is also still going to happen.) Isn’t it amazing what our legislators can do when they put their minds to it? A violent mob assault at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo certainly hasn’t helped efforts to release already approved funds, but White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday denied a media report that U.S. talks with Egypt to release the aid are on hold until after the election. "We’re continuing to work with (Congress) on ways to support a stable, democratic transition in Egypt that is important for defeating extremism of the very kind that we just recently saw," Carney said. "We provide assistance to Egypt because it’s in our interests to help them advance regional security and uphold their treaty with Israel and transition to democracy." That’s a relief. We would hate to think that the Muslim Brotherhood is being punished for their recent actions. More

PRESS SUCKERED BY CHICK-FIL-A FAIRYTALE

Mainstream media organizations have headlined over the last two days Chick-fil-A’s “change” they claim means the company suddenly is promising not to discriminate against homosexuals – and that it would stop giving money to those organizations that promote traditional marriage.
“Chick-fil-A says it will stop funding antigay groups” proclaimed the Detroit Free Press.
But it appears the facts are that the company’s anti-discrimination policy remains just as it was months ago – before the controversy over owner Dan Cathy’s Christian beliefs erupted – and its donations appear to have had no new directive applied.

SHA Plans To Improve Snow Hill Intersection By Adding J-turns

Work on a reconfiguration of the intersection of Routes 113 and 12 in Snow Hill is expected to begin during the fall of 2013, following the Worcester County Commissioners’ push for a higher safety level there.

The improvements will be J-turns, which will be used to direct traffic away from the intersection. Instead of crossing Route 113, motorists on Route 12 who wish to continue on Route 12 on the other side of Route 113 would turn right onto Route 113 and then make a later turn left to reach the continuation of Route 12.

“It solves the far side accidents,” Matt Allen of Wallace Montgomery, the firm that did the traffic studies and engineering designs, said during Tuesday’s commissioners’ meeting. “That’s what this configuration solves.”

Time For An Intervention

What should Mitt Romney do now? He should peer deep into the abyss. He should look straight into the heart of darkness where lies a Republican defeat in a year the Republican presidential candidate almost couldn’t lose. He should imagine what it will mean for the country, for a great political philosophy, conservatism, for his party and, last, for himself. He must look down unblinkingly. And then he needs to snap out of it, and move. He has got seven weeks. He’s just had two big flubs. On the Mideast he seemed like a political opportunist, not big and wise but small and tinny. It mattered because the crisis was one of those moments when people look at you and imagine you as president. Then his comments released last night and made months ago at the private fundraiser in Boca Raton, Fla. Mr. Romney has relearned what four years ago Sen. Barack Obama learned: There’s no such thing as private when you’re a candidate with a mic. There’s someone who doesn’t like you in that audience. There’s someone with a cellphone. Mr. Obama’s clinger comments became famous in 2008 because when people heard what he’d said, they thought, “That’s the real him, that’s him when he’s talking to his friends.” More

Put's Things In Perspective?

In perspective... Read it ,it will get you thinking. Yes, maybe it is starting to take place RIGHT HERE. “When I was about 9 years old I remember asking my dad about Castro. I asked, "Is Castro a good guy or bad?" Dad said...he couldn't tell!! This was about 1955. We were living in Louisiana ...at the time. Dad was in the Army and stationed there. Cuba was fairly close and in the news a lot. The Cubans were asking the same question! Ike was president. This past July 4th, we had the pleasure of sharing a summer barbecue with a refugee from Cuba . Our dinner conversation was starkly different than most. This refugee came to the United States as a young boy in the early 1960's. His family was more fortunate than most, as they were able to bring a suitcase and $100 when they fled Castro's newly formed revolutionary paradise. Our dinner consisted of all-American fare: hamburgers, potato salad, fresh ears of sweet corn and watermelon. This is a menu shared with family and friends nationwide...while celebrating the birth of our beloved America ...on the Fourth of July. We began with a simple discussion about our country, and the direction it has taken since Barack Obama came to power. We shared the usual complaints about the sour economy and liberal social engineering emanating from the rulers in Washington . But then he said it. The sentence flowed naturally from our refugee guest. I assume it was unplanned. But it carried the weight of a freight train. "You know when Castro took power, none of us knew he was a Communist". We sat stunned. He continued, "Yes, we all thought he was a patriot, a nationalist. Before the revolution he didn't sound like a radical." The comparison at this point was easy, and I interjected, "You mean just like Barack Obama?" He responded; "Yes, just like Barack Obama." He continued, "We were all shocked as the government just continued to grab more power. First they said the revolution is over, so please turn in your guns. We all complied." I also remember my uncle saying; “Castro will only nationalize some of the big industries. He will never come and take our family hardware store!!” But that is exactly what happened. Castro started with the sugar mills and the large industries, but they eventually came and knocked on the door of our family hardware store. My family had run this store for generations. They said we now own the hardware store, you work for us. And that four-bedroom home you own...it is now our property too. You have to move yourself and the five children into those two rooms of the house, because others are moving in here with you." The lesson learned from this discussion, is a lesson most Americans refuse to hear. Political leaders can lie about their agenda and once in office, they can take totally unexpected turns. If you had asked us three years ago if we thought General Motors or Chrysler would be nationalized, we would have never believed it. We could never contemplate a country where the rule of law, the most fundamental building block of a justice society...would be evaporating, just like it did in Castro's Cuba in the early 1960's. But the news of injustice keeps increasing; Black Panthers are not charged with wrong doing by the U.S. Department of Justice. The bond holders of GM are stripped of their assets...without being given due process by the government; Car Dealerships are closed with out due process; Governmental leaders are bribed in full daylight...only to have all investigation of the crimes stifled...by the Attorney General; The U.S. borders are over run with crime and illegal activity, and the leaders in D.C. act as if it is important to protect the lawbreakers...while the innocent are killed and over run; When local communities attempt to enforce the law, they are ridiculed...and threatened as racists and bigots. They are sued by the very administration entrusted with enforcing the law. Without the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution is a sham!! Without the rule of law, our beloved America is swiftly becoming a country where only the well connected and politically powerful will be safe. As an author recently and so eloquently explained in her most recent book..."a culture of corruption has replaced honest government" (Michelle Malkin). The only way this problem will be fixed, is by massive citizen action. All honest citizens that want to be treated equally, must come together...and demand that the favoritism, the bribes, the uneven enforcement of law...end now!! And yes,it can happen if we all pull together. 6 million plus Jews didn't believe it could happen in Germany either!!! If you're a Christian in these United States of America , you're probably next on the list. History bares that out. The real problem here is, the boy from Cuba did manage to make it to the U.S. Today he and we will not have any place to escape to...except death!”

Also interesting that the media is constantly replaying the hidden and illegal taping of Romney's campaigning to the high dollar crowd. --essentially saying that he is not pandering to the  47% who don't pay taxes.  They won't vote for him anyway because they don't pay income taxes and want to keep it that way.  How much of that isn't true.

The message, as I read it, is "If you do pay taxes, and don't like the fact that you pay the bill for those who don't pay taxes you should vote for Romney."  Of course it would follow that you probably don't like to pay for other's mortgages, college education, healthcare, and bail outs for bad business decisions.

That is a big part of the direction the country will take after the next election.

Another big factor is the media highlighting the recent events in the middle east." Some jerk in America exercised his first amendment rights and produced a movie that pissed off some Muslims.  As a result, the region goes out of control, kills Americans, storms our embassy, and sets off bombs and turns on our troops.  In turn, our president and secretary of state apologizes to the Muslims."

Has anyone else noticed a direct correlation between America's place in the world from the time we dropped a bomb on Japan ending that war and now? We stopped short in Korea, stopped short in Vietnam, stopped short in Kuwait, blew it in Bosnia, Iraq and Iran and now Afghanistan. All the while we send money to countries who hate and kill Americans, and apologize to them for our transgressions. Does anyone out there really think our helpful nice guy policy is really going to work and change their beliefs?

Pull the plug, bring our money and troops home, support Israel, and let them take care of business in about a week.

'Self Evident' That Obama, Officials Still Not On Same Page About Attack

While White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said it was 'self evident' that 'what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack,' President Obama seems to be sticking by story that an anti-Islam film was to blame, adding the administration was 'still doing an investigation.'

Maryland's Unemployment Rate Inches Up Again To 7.1%

Annapolis - Maryland's unemployment rate inched up to 7.1%, marking months of consecutive upticks since January's rate of 6.5%,  in the latest state employment picture released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The preliminary August numbers show a slight gain in employment due to July numbers that were revised downward by 1,600 jobs.  In August, Maryland payrolls increased by 1,400 over July.

The slight change in employment numbers, however, is not enough to lift Maryland out of the doldrums when it comes to competing with neighboring states.

"We are lagging in job growth in the region and are simply not competing with our neighbors," said Change Maryland Chairman Larry Hogan.  "This year's performance on job growth is abysmal as it has been since 2007."

On a percentage basis of jobs lost, Maryland's decline of 1.4% since January of 2007 is the second-worst in the region after Delaware.
