I'm Going Broke, HELP!

My Wife said, it's been months since we've had Marissa, WE'RE GOING SHOPPING! I thought I'd tag along in the hopes of saying, nah, that doesn't look good, depending on the price tag, of course. Guess what, THAT DIDN'T WORK AT ALL!

Here I was thinking, the Park, maybe some amusement rides, you know, fun Family things, NOT! What is it with women that shopping for clothes is more important?????

In the mean time, my Brokers are off for the entire Holiday weekend, so I can't ask them to freeze my accounts and I'm in desperate trouble. Can ANYONE help me!!!!!

It's A Holiday Weekend And I'm Taking Advantage Of It

My Son called and asked me what my plans were for the weekend. I replied, the usual. The Blog, a speaking engagement, a couple get together on Memorial Day, how about you. He replied, we were thinking of going to the Beach for the weekend but I guess your too busy to keep an eye on Marissa. I replied, the Blog will take care of itself, there's several months before the election and for what it's worth, I could use the break.

I think you can see where I'm heading. My Granddaughter is now with me and I'm stepping aside this weekend to give her all the quality time a Grandfather can offer.

I can assure you there will be plenty of Posts up on Salisbury News this weekend but the comments may stall for a while, I hope you can understand.

It's called Memorial Day and I'm going to create as many memories for her and me as I possibly can. Have a great weekend, all of you.

Obama Calls for Amendment Limiting Free-Speech Rights

President Barack Obama endorsed a constitutional amendment that would restrict the free-speech rights of political activist groups by overturning the Supreme Court decision in the landmark Citizens United v FEC case that granted First Amendment rights to corporations.

“Over the longer term, I think we need to seriously consider mobilizing a constitutional amendment process to overturn Citizens United,” Obama wrote during a question and answer session on the website Reddit on Wednesday.

“Even if the amendment process falls short, it can shine a spotlight of the super-PAC phenomenon and help apply pressure for change.”

Chick-fil-A ‘Tastes Like Hate’ Vandal Won’t Be Charged: D.A.

TORRANCE, CA, – Manuel Castro may have accused Chick-fil-A of peddling hate, but police say they have determined that he wasn’t motivated by hate when he vandalized a Chick-fil-A restaurant earlier this month.
Castro, a gay activist, had scrawled the words “Tastes Like Hate,” along with a cow holding a paintbrush, on the side of a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Torrance, California, on “National Same-Sex Kiss Day” – an event organized to protest company CEO Dan Cathy’s stance in support of traditional marriage.

“National Same-Sex Kiss Day” followed on the heels of Chick-fil-A “Appreciation Day,” on which hundreds of thousands of traditional marriage supporters had lined up, sometimes for several hours, to dine at Chick-fil-A as a show of their support for Cathy.

More than one-third of Americans near retirement age expect they'll never retire, a poll finds.

Thirty five percent of Americans don't expect to retire, up from 29 percent two years ago, according to findings from a “2011 Risks and Process of Retirement Survey Report” from the Society of Actuaries, the New York Times reports.

Four in 10 of the survey's so-called "pre-retirees" say they won't retire say because they are financially unable to do so, as they either need the income or the employer benefits.

Unprecedented Civil Union Unites Brazilian Trio

Brazilian public notary Claudia do Nascimento Domingues set off a firestorm by granting Brazil's first civil union to a trio, an act so unprecedented that there isn't a word for it in Portuguese.

Uniao poliafetiva is the label she created. "Polyfidelitous union" is her best guess in English.

The relationship involves three professionals in their 30s -- one man and two women -- who, she says, live together, love one another as equals and are like any other non-married cohabiting couple -- except they are three.

The Condensed Liberal Handbook of Racial Code Words

Thumper the Rabbit's parents always taught him, "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all." If the left's self-appointed Omniscient Diviners of True Meaning have their way, conservatives in the public square won't be left with anything at all to say. Ever.

It's a treacherous business exercising your freedom of speech in the age of Obama. As a public service, I present to you: "The 2012 Condensed Liberal Handbook of Racial Code Words." Decoder rings, activate!

—Angry. On the campaign trail this summer, President Obama has become — in the words of the mainstream Associated Press — more "aggressive." But don't you dare call him "angry." According to MSNBC host Toure, that's racist!

Muslims Hosting Events To Coincide With Charlotte DNC Face Blowback

In the run-up to the Democratic National Convention, several hundred Muslims attended "Jumah," or Friday prayer, in a park in Charlotte, N.C., as part of an effort to mobilize Muslims and get them engaged in political discourse. But the event sparked some of the same negative reaction that the organizers were hoping to combat.

Organizers said they hoped to use the prayers, a town hall meeting planned for Saturday and cultural festival to open events to non-Muslims and bring attention to problems that they believe disproportionately affect Muslims but are ignored by both political parties.

Veterans Group Vows To Get To The Bottom of 'Autopen-gate'

A veterans group is vowing to get a handwriting expert to determine if the letters sent to parents of Navy SEALs killed in Afghanistan were signed by President Obama himself or an electronic autopen that can replicate his signature.
Karen and Billy Vaughn, whose son Aaron Vaughn was one of 17 SEALs and 13 other Americans killed in a helicopter crash Aug. 6, 2011, raised the issue at a Tea Party rally in Tampa during the Republican National Convention. Karen Vaughn said she compared the signature on her letter, dated Sept. 23, 2011, with those received by other families of SEALs and determined the signature was mechanical.
But the White House insists every letter sent out to the families of fallen service members is signed by the hand of the Commander-in-Chief.

National Atheist Party Cancels Convention Over Lack of Funding

The National Atheist Party has announced that it has canceled its upcoming convention due to a lack of sufficient funds.

The political organization states that it had planned to host its second annual rally in October of this year in Boston, Massachusetts, but  the lack of ample donations threatened the financial stability of the party.

“NAPCON 2012 was supposed to be our biggest and best public event; our chance to show the U.S. that we could fund and organize a large, noteworthy and impressive ‘Secular Summit’ that would attract media buzz and even more interested members and donations,” National Atheist Party president Troy Boyle explained. “The reality is that we can’t. The donations simply aren’t there and if we went ahead with the event as planned, it would bankrupt us.”

Look Who Parks Their Cash At Bain

Democrats convened in Charlotte, NC, will double down on their claim that Bain Capital is really the Bain crime family. They will accuse Republican nominee Mitt Romney and Bain’s other “greedy” co-founders of stealing their winnings, evading taxes and lighting cigars with $100 bills on their yachts.

But Bain’s private-equity executives have enriched dozens of organizations and millions of individuals in the Democratic base — including some who scream most loudly for President Obama’s re-election.

Government-worker pension funds are the chief beneficiaries of Bain’s economic stewardship. New York-based Preqin uses public documents, news accounts and Freedom of Information requests to track private-equity holdings. Since 2000, Preqin reports, the following funds have entrusted some $1.56 billion to Bain:

Obama and That Empty Chair: Mitt Goes to Israel and NOLA While Obama Won't

While the media take potshots at American icon Clint Eastwood for his non-teleprompter speech last night at the GOP convention and talking to an empty chair representing President Obama, they seem to be missing the point. Or more likely, they "get it" but are sweeping it under the rug.

GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney recently visited U.S. ally Israel, while President Obama refuses to do so until/unless he is reelected. Empty chair.

President Obama has no plans to visit New Orleans post-Isaac, but Mitt Romney is on his way there. Obama continues to fundraise and campaign instead. Empty chair.

House Panel Probing Stimulus Cash for MSNBC Ads

A House panel is calling on the U.S. Department of Labor to turn over all records involving a half-million dollar contract funded through President Obama’s $831 billion stimulus program that paid for more than 100 commercials on MSNBC touting a “green jobs” initiative.

The contract with McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC in 2009 resulted in more than 100 commercials on cable shows hosted by Rachel Maddow and Keith Olberman to raise awareness about the Job Corps program’s training in environmentally-friendly career areas.

But spending reports showed that no jobs were created through the contract. The Washington Times first reported on the contract earlier this month, quoting one taxpayer watchdog who questioned not only the lack of jobs but why the commercials aired only on MSNBC, considered the most liberal of the major cable news outlets.

Bernanke: With Unemployment High, Fed Can Do More

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Chairman Ben Bernanke made clear Friday that the Federal Reserve will do more to boost the economy because of high U.S. unemployment and an economic recovery that remains “far from satisfactory.”

He also argued that the Fed’s moves so far to keep interest rates at record lows and encourage borrowing and spending have helped bolster the economy.

Bernanke stopped short of committing the Fed to any specific move, such as another round of bond purchases to lower long-term rates. But in a speech at an annual Fed conference in Jackson Hole, Wyo., Bernanke said that even with rates at super-lows, the Fed can do more.
