AAA Warns EPA To Halt Sale Of E15 Gas

Back in August we told you about the courts rejecting a challenge to an EPA mandate to start using 15% ethanol blends in fuels. The industry said we weren’t ready for it, consumer guides were nervous and the testing pointed to likely problems to come. Naysayers claimed that the tests were being done by partisan groups with a vested interest in the energy companies or… whatever. Either way, the EPA wasn’t going to listen.

This weekend, a decidedly non-partisan organization sent up a distress signal on the subject which just might garner a bit more attention. The AAA has warned the EPA that E-15 fuels will have a detrimental effect on the current fleet of cars, fuel distributors and just about everyone else.

  1. My car doesn't run now. Mileage has dropped to a half what it used to be before using ethanol. I wish it'd be outlawed.
(They used to add lead to increase mileage. Not to worry, it all got burned.)

  3. ethanol is twice as expensive to produce than gas. Corn is no longer available because of it's shortage. Get ready people obama will hit you in the wallet again , don't you just love that SOB.

  4. Please wait until I finish rebuilding the 4 carburetors on my motorcycle that had all the rubber diaphragms rotted out by the gasohol 10% which made the bike run too lean and blew the head gaskets. Gee, going green is so much fun.

  5. 7:08 You are right about carburetors. However I don't believe that burning our food supply in any vehicle is going green. It's going backward. The EPA is out of control, and is getting worse.

  6. Higher ethanol use lowers the amount of corn available to be given away to third world countries or what ever scam their running at the time. Don't think for a minute they care about damage to your vehicle.

  8. I despise the whole environmentalist, sustainability concept. Just another money grabbing ruse perpetuated on the public to empty their wallets.
