Seaford, DE- The Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit has arrested a Seaford couple after the culmination of a several month long investigation into the manufacturing Methamphetamine (Meth) in their house.
On Wednesday November 7, 2012, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Sussex County Drug Unit, with the assistance of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force and DNREC, responded to the 26000 block of Walker Road in Up Country MHP in order to execute a search warrant at the residence. Upon arrival at the house,Robert A. Donavan, 24, and Nichole M. Messick, 21, were taken into custody without incident. Both Donavan and Messick were found to be in possession of approximately .01 gram of Meth each. Upon conducting the search of the house, detectives located component mixtures of the manufacturing stages of Meth along with key ingredients in making the drug. Detectives also located a switchblade knife, ammunition and other drug paraphernalia while searching the residence. A one year old male child of the couple was turned over to a neighbor until relatives could take custody. Division of Family Services was notified of the child living there.
Donavan and Messick were transported back to Troop 4 in Georgetown where they were processed for the above listed charges. They were arraigned at JP3 and Robert Donavan was committed to SCI on $75,500.00 secured bond. Nichole Messick was committed to WCI on $15,500.00 secured bond.
Walker Road in Up Country MHP was closed for approximately six hours as the Meth lab was safely dismantled and removed from the residence.
