Outgoing CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus’ resignation over an extramarital affair was reportedly held until after Tuesday’s election to avoid “potential embarrassment” for President Barack Obama, according to Newsmax.
FBI agents learned of the affair while monitoring Petraeus’ emails out of concern that the woman, Petraeus biographer Paula Broadwell, may have had access to his personal account, the Associated Press reported.
But an FBI source told Ronald Kessler, the author and journalist who broke the Secret Service prostitution scandal, that rather than having Petraeus resign immediately, the decision was made to hold it until after the election for political purposes:
No shat. Ya don't say. So he does not have to testify before Congress next week. Isn’t that interesting and convenient
ReplyDeleteSomeone in the FBI needs to be FIRED.
ReplyDeleteObama's Olie North, he'll take a bullet for the liar-n-chief
ReplyDeleteNow if David Petraeus extramarital affair was with Obama the votes would have went thru the roof.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with what he did? At least he did'nt have an affair with another dude.
ReplyDeleteSo true 2:59 b/c they all share the same hot tub in the White House
ReplyDeleteHe should still be able to testify.
ReplyDelete3:44 I'm thinking the extramarital affair is not even true. They just made that the excuse and we know the real reason. I mean did you see the woman he is accused of fooling around with? She is pretty and he is well.... Plus it showed his wife with him, standing by her man. You think it has anything to do with her also working for the Obama Administration? I believe they both took one for the pres and that they will be rewarded for their loyalty.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Dana. Is this affair story really true or is it another "spontaneous reation to a video" they are trying to pass off on us?
ReplyDeleteOf course anyone remoted involved with national security and classifed info can not ever put themselves in any situtation which could/or may subject them to blackmail. This sudden ethical, moral, honorable stance/confession of Petreaus is suspect.
First of all, it would a FIRST for anyone in the Obama admin to be ethical/honorable and the timing is questionable.
When did this affair take place and why didn't he immediately resign if he were so honorable?
