I heard you posted this. Go FUCK YOURSELF! HaHa, I was told you were here, and gave you exactly what you received, because I knew nothing good would come from it. Wish you knew what else was on your meal. The laugh is on you! If no-oen else ever gets you, I DID! Did I say pay backs a bitch!
New Posts to fall below.
i guess he called it huh?
ReplyDeleteWow was that from the server? What balls!
ReplyDeleteDisgusting.
ReplyDeleteIs that in DE? Call the appropriate health department immediately and report this. Terrible. Old Mill might as well close their doors forever after this comment.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I'd sue them for all they are worth. Clearly this came from someone who works there.
ReplyDeleteWAAAAA WAAAAA
ReplyDeleteI will never go back to that place.
ReplyDeleteIf it didn't come from someone that works there than the Old Mill needs to know. This could hurt their reputation further.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable. I certainly hope it wasn't the owner who posted this comment. However, he should have called your number by now to discuss.
ReplyDeleteThey have been horrible since the change in ownership. They are also way too expensive. I stopped going there.
ReplyDeleteFood tampering is a crime. Not only that the Health Dept will close a restaurant down for this to undergo an investigaton and procede w/any sanitation process that may be necessary.
ReplyDeleteIf that comment wasn't from the server, someone probably got wrongfully terminated! On the eastern shore, word of mouth rules!
ReplyDeleteFor example "Salisbury Nissan" back in the eighty's.
Sue them Joe. That would explain why they wouldn't bring you more crabs at one time.
ReplyDeletemakes you wonder what all the other customers got . not worth the chance for a return visit .
ReplyDeletethe blog giveth and the blog taketh away.
ReplyDeleteLast time I went there was on a Friday night in September and the place was empty. The food was good, but I'm always sick when I get the bill. Obviously there is a problem there. The people used to be lined up outside for hours to eat there. No longer. Not sure I will go back either after this posting.
ReplyDeletenasty post !!!
ReplyDeletewe haven't been to the old mill for about 2 years. food wasn't very tasty last time we were there.
I'd say the payback is now on the old mill.
ReplyDeletewe took family members there in the early part of the season. we don't go there at all anymore but our family has moved from the area and had "good" memories of the old mill. well we won't have to worry about them wanting to go there next time they are in town, the crabs were horrible, and the service was worse. the change of ownership doomed that place for anyone that enjoyed eating there before
ReplyDeletei posted too quickly. also to whoever sent the FU comment. You are more than obviously an idiot if you are really an employee or owner of the business. When mr. albero has a good experience he raves about it on the blog and people listen. so i don't know what you mean by "nothing good would come from it" unless you knew the food was subpar and the service plain sucked and it was a lost cause from the beginning. congratulations dumba**
ReplyDeleteThis would explain why they had to shut down in Ocean City.
ReplyDeleteI don't always agree with you but this is disgusting! I took my father their a couple years ago and the women gave me crap because I didn't tell her he was in a wheelchair needless to say that was the last time I stepped foot in there it's the Red roost from now on.
ReplyDeleteahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow you feelin Joe? A little sick???
IP addresses are a beautiful thing, Joe
ReplyDeleteTo the naive folks out there:
ReplyDeleteNever raise hell or be snotty to restaurant staff.
You will receive a "special dinner"
I didn't know they had sold the place. It's been many, many years since I have been there.
ReplyDeleteMe and my nephew went there way back when and we both ordered all you can eat meals.
We both liked each other's sides more than our own and were switching. I didn't see a problem with that then and I still see no problem with that.
We were told that eating the sides of another diner were against the rules and we would be charged extra if we continued.
We stopped eating the sides, and we quick going to Old mill.
I had always heard that they had the best crabs on the shore. Well, I'm no food critic but I know what I like, and it's not Old mill.
The food was almost as bad as the service. And the noise, good lord. I know the restaurant is shaped like a barn but you don't have to act like you were born in one to eat there.
I don't remember any stench from the sewer but I do remember the bugs on the porch while we were waiting for a table. They could almost pick us up and carry us away.
Good luck to them. I don't see myself going back there ever again.
I wonder how much repeat business they do have..?
I will never return there. I prefer Hooper's in West OC anyway. The prices are much better, the service is better and the food is much better as well. Old Mill went to sh*t when the new owners took over.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I'm not a dr. but from a medical stand point, you need to find out what "special" ingredient(s) were put in your food in case you need medical testing to screen for disease. Call both the police & health dept.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see your original post, went back to it on this one, and couldn't agree more. Haven't been in YEARS. Rude waitress, and as you stated, it's almost like I had to beg for additional, and then wait. It's insane, I'll never understand people waiting to eat in a place like that. Oh, and there was a cricket in a basket of claws they brought out to a member of our party. I know, it's Summer etc but c'mon. and no, no apology for that just, oh we'll bring you another...wow...I haven't missed it and it always smells rank when you ride by.
ReplyDeleteI will wait for the owner's response which must appear on this BLOG.
ReplyDeleteIf I do not see it, I will not return to the restaurant. I go about 2-3 times per year with friends.
We will not go there if there is a CHANCE that our food will be tampered.
I must see the apology!
I'm not comfortable eating out in several places, just because of the help. You never know what they have done with your meal. If they have a bad day, if they just don't like you, if they want a laugh, the consumer is always vulnerable! Spit, snot, bugs, etc not for me!
ReplyDeleteWell, right now you can get AUCE crabs practically anywhere win OC for $20-$24. The best I have found recently is carry out from "On The Bay" located at 42nd and Coastal. They put their live crabs with prices on display and they give you paper for your table, and for every 6 crabs, butter/crab spice/vinegar, a plastic knife and a wooden mallet.
ReplyDeleteThey don't seem like people that would spit or something on your food before serving like the person who contacted you implied regarding your Old Mill visit.
How do you get carry out AUCE?
ReplyDeletethe Old Mill was never what it pretended to be
ReplyDeletethe fried foods there tasted like they were cooked in some grandmas heirloom drippings
I never saw a decent size crab even when ya begged to get them to the table
the all you can eat business model is never worth it
I don't go as often anymore but really enjoyed the food the last time I was there, in July of this year. It was about the same a Red Roost, cost wise, with less a drive. Most of the people who work there are local kids from Delmar and are good kids too.
ReplyDelete"How do you get carry out AUCE?"
ReplyDelete2 subjects actually. They've recently been charging $24 for AUCE on their outdoor tables. I never eat more than 6 (good sized) crabs and order accordingly. That's the carry out order I generally place. I've been trying other places but it's always a surprise with what gets served after I make my choice based on price. On the Bay lets you see what you are ordering before you do. For my lousy order of 6 crabs, I like it that way and all the trimmings come with it. After all, they are expensive enough without having surprises (spit or size).
It spells, Callinectes sapidus. hence the Blue crab. Not everything is a trap. Not everything...
ReplyDeleteAnonymous 7:15pm - I really did try to figure it out. Thank you for letting me know.
ReplyDeleteI know.
ReplyDeleteAUCE is a good concept when you compare time, effort and cost when catching your own.
ReplyDeleteThanks helped me to decide not to return. Last time I was there was a year ago. The place barely had enough people to fill 3 long tables.
ReplyDeleteFood Lion has the Jumbo shrimp buy one get one, no poop in them and Tiger shrimp to boot. Ever since I became aware of the fact that the shrimp had poop in them never again. I dont eat Do-Do.(Contributor laughs here).
ReplyDeleteAll my experiences with Old Mill have been great - good time, good food, good friends. I also like the Red Roost but most of the time can't fit the drive in my schedule. Joe I seriously doubt anyone spoiled your food. Why would an employee put their job in jeopardy. It was just one of the anti's hoping to get you and your viewers in a tizzie. It is a shame to blacken a business' name in such a manner, just to get back at you.
ReplyDeleteWhen you people going to learn that control is an illusion, you dont really control anything. If you try you will go mad. Last time I was in the place the waitress treated me and my wife like shit. I think it was eleven years ago or so. My damn wife looked at me and said" what did you do her back in high school" and I said "cant remember but if I did dont seem like I did a very good job". Hell I live 3.1 miles beside it. Woman, cant live with them cant boil them. Needless to say I cook my crabs at home now, buy them live.
ReplyDeleteFood is as much about the act of doing it and the folks around then as it is anything else. Long ago in our country it was the high point of the day, no tv, no computers and family was all there was. As a nation we drifted somewhere, mom had to go to work for the fam to have anything, no more eatin at the table... And Nixon took us off the gold reserve. Part of our over-all society now is SHIT. Remember that old saying? " Its a big old SHIT pie and WE all have to take a bite, true huh. The fact is that there are to many people for all of us to have a good life, and it will fail, Im surprised it lasted so long. I will never complain about things lost that I still havent figured out how I got yet, hell no. I think Stevie Nicks said it best. "You pick up the pieces and move on". None of us were born promised a damn thing, what I have lived has made me what I am. I may be the luckiest man in the world. Perspective is a bitch.
ReplyDeleteMe myself if funds allowed I would take the Old Mill to the next level. And everyone on my staff in this economy would have the right attitude or they be gone. I would go seafood and dry aged beef, year round. My ice cream would be made in house and my drinks wouldnt be a joke. Service is everything past the food, one doesnt exsist well without the other. Whats the most important rule? No customers, NO money. Think bigger & better.
ReplyDeleteHow you think I hung on this long, somewhere inside I am a bad man. Much as I hate it. Got no choice.
ReplyDelete8:54 grocery store shrimp = poop. It's disgusting.
ReplyDeleteYou eat clams, mussels and oysters? If so, guess what? You're eating poo.
ReplyDeleteIf shrimp have a dark substance in the vein, well that is poo, however, if it's orange, just like crabs it's eggs, yum yum shrimp caviar and you never knew you had it so good.
I've eaten there many times and always had a great experience. It's not cheap but it is delicious. Never had anything but good at Old Mill. Then again Joe, I am not hated like you. I am a little surprised you even go out to eat. I can't imagine all the things you have digested over the years.
ReplyDelete9:02 we are talking human waste...the sewage/sanitation problems in these foreign countries make their way into the product.
