BREAKING NEWS!!! TWO ARMED ROBBERIES
Just when you thought things were bad, HERE WE GO AGAIN!
There was just an armed robbery at the Country Farm Store on Priscilla Street. The police have a great video of the suspect. He's a black male with a flannel shirt on. They have been following a trail from the store and are searching the area for the suspect. I believe he's driving an older red Ford Explorer.
The second armed robbery was on Baker Street where they robbed a delivery person of food and cash.
ARE YOU LISTENING MAYOR IRETON?
BREAKING NEWS
There are two Breaking News Stories going on right now.
The first is a high speed chase involving the Salisbury Police and the Maryland State Police. The vehicle they are chasing struck two vehicles. North Point Drive.
On another note: There's a guy walking down the street firing shots on Cherry Way. State Police are on their way to that situation.
Check in later with the OK Coral for further updates.
A Comment Worthy Of A Post
At the conclusion, I had to read them again, not believing what I just read. Throughout the entire document, Webster continually complained about Campbell. Past and present. Also included Cohen. Both are City Council members.
Here is my question:
If Webster’s complaint is that the mayor failed to provide him a grievance hearing in front of an impartial decision maker, and thus constitutes a breech of contract. Why would Webster request a declaratory judgment and request relief by requesting the City Council be the proper body to hear his grievance when 2 of the members of the Council are the very people involved in his complaint?
To me it is CLEAR from reading the documents, Webster is requesting the City Council as the impartial body to hear his grievance because he feels confident the majority will be favorable for him! WOW
Are we looking for an impartial body or a "guarantee"?"

THE BEAST - Pelosi’s Monster!
Those are the words of Congressman Tom Price, who happens to know a little something about health care, as he's also one of the few doctors in Congress.
Truth be told, Congressman Price's words were tempered when you consider the reality of what's really happening in Washington. Pelosi's latest incarnation of ObamaCare - dubiously titled the "Affordable Health Care for America Act," (H.R. 3962) - is not merely "the same bill the American people have flat-out rejected" ...
... It's actually far worse.
At nearly 2,000 pages, it's almost twice the size of Pelosi's first bill (H.R. 3200) and includes even more of what the American people have already flat-out rejected.
And make no mistake, Pelosi and Barack Obama and Harry Reid have every intention of ramming this latest version of ObamaCare down the throats of the American people with lightning speed... before you and millions of other concerned Americans have a chance to once again rally against it.
According to the Heritage Foundation, "Pelosi and the rest of the congressional leaders want to fast-track the legislation." As Congressman Price observed, the "future of American health care is in the balance and we are on the clock."
After shutting the American people out of the process altogether, Pelosi and House Democrats are moving to hold a vote on her nearly 2,000 page bill, in a matter of days or even hours, without having any substantive debate.
Remember, "we are on the clock." How we respond right here and right now will determine the fate of health care in this country forever.
We can stop this government takeover of health care, but the time to make our voices heard is now.
Pelosi's Bill Is Even Worse Than You Think.
Everything that was intolerable in the first House health care bill (H.R. 3200), is still in the second incarnation (H.R. 3962).
Congressman Price again:
"Government-run insurance? Still in the bill. Higher taxes? You betcha. An individual mandate that restricts choices and innovation by requiring Washington to define what qualifies as health insurance? Check. A job-killing employer mandate, a budget-busting expansion of the Medicaid entitlement, and countless provisions that set Washington bureaucrats firmly between you and your doctor? Better believe it."
Price adds:
"H.R. 3962 has all the 'government takeover' of H.R. 3200 with an extra thousand pages thrown into the mix. That's a whole lot of government involvement in personal, private health care decisions."
As if that's not enough, here, courtesy of Congressman Mike Pence's House Republican Conference, are just a few more goodies Pelosi threw into H.R. 3962:
Page 111 - Section 223 establishes a new board of federal bureaucrats (the "Health Benefits Advisory Committee") to dictate the health plans that all individuals must purchase.
Page 211 - Section 321 establishes a new government-run health plan that, according to non-partisan actuaries at the Lewin Group, would cause as many as 114 million Americans to lose their existing coverage.
Page 297 - Section 501 imposes a 2.5 percent tax on all individuals who do not purchase "bureaucrat-approved" health insurance - the tax would apply on individuals with incomes under $250,000, thus breaking a central promise of then-Senator Obama's presidential campaign.
Do you believe Pelosi and Obama when they say "if you like your plan you can keep your plan" ... that you ultimately won't be forced to live with government-run insurance?
Check out this provision...
Page 94 - Section 202(c) prohibits the sale of private individual health insurance policies, beginning in 2013, forcing individuals to purchase coverage through the federal government.
Of course, Members of Congress and their family members need not worry about how this radical overhaul of our nation's health care will affect them because...
Page 225 - Section 330 permits--but does not require--Members of Congress to enroll in government-run health care.
Here Are A Few More Little Nasties In Pelosi's H.R. 3962.
We're not finished. It would be impossible to mention every egregious provision in Pelosi's 1,990 page bill, but here are a few more notables... just in case your blood isn't already boiling.
Page 110 - Section 222(e) requires the use of federal dollars to fund abortions through the government-run health plan--and, if the Hyde Amendment were ever not renewed, would require the plan to fund elective abortions.
Page 313 - Section 512 imposes an 8 percent "tax on jobs" for firms that cannot afford to purchase "bureaucrat-approved" health coverage; according to an analysis by Harvard Professor Kate Baicker, such a tax would place millions "at substantial risk of unemployment"--with minority workers losing their jobs at twice the rate of their white counterparts.
Page 336 - Section 551 imposes additional job-killing taxes, in the form of a half-trillion dollar "surcharge," more than half of which will hit small businesses; according to a model developed by President Obama's senior economic advisor, such taxes could cost up to 5.5 million jobs.
Page 520 - Section 1161 cuts more than 150 billion [dollars] from Medicare Advantage plans, potentially jeopardizing millions of seniors' existing coverage.
Page 733 - Section 1401 establishes a new Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research; the bill includes no provisions preventing the government-run health plan from using such research to deny access to life-saving treatments on cost grounds, similar to Britain's National Health Service, which denies patient treatments costing more than 35,000 [pounds].
And last, but certainly not least:
Page 1174 - Section 1802(b) includes provisions entitled 'Taxes On Certain Insurance Policies' to fund comparative effectiveness research, breaking Speaker Pelosi's promise that 'We will not be taxing [health] benefits in any bill that passes the House,' and the President's promise not to raise taxes on families with incomes under 250,000 [dollars].
"The Worst Bill Ever: Epic New Spending And Taxes, Pricier Insurance, Rationed Care, Dishonest Accounting: The Pelosi Health Bill Has It All."
That's what the Wall Street Journal had to say about H.R. 3962. But that's not all the Journal said:
"The health bill she [Pelosi] unwrapped last Thursday, which President Obama hailed as a 'critical milestone,' may well be the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced."
Here's a scary prognosis:
"Taxes will need to rise precipitously, even as ObamaCare so dramatically expands government control of health care that eventually all medicine will be rationed via politics."
The Journal also writes:
"Yet at this point, Democrats have dumped any pretense of genuine bipartisan 'reform' and moved into the realm of pure power politics as they race against the unpopularity of their own agenda. The goal is to ram through whatever income-redistribution scheme they can claim to be 'universal coverage.' The result will be destructive on every level -- for the health-care system, for the country's fiscal condition, and ultimately for American freedom and prosperity."
That last paragraph gives us valuable insight as to exactly how we can stop these idiotic leftist health care schemes once and for all.
Extreme liberals in the House and the Senate, as well as Barack Obama, are indeed racing against their rising unpopularity.
And health care will only be passed if these extreme liberals can make false and empty promises and ram legislation through Congress before the American people realize they are being duped.
That's been their plan of action with each and every previous incarnation of ObamaCare and that is still their plan today.
Pelosi and her allies in Congress forgot long ago that they serve the American people... that they work for you.
And they weren't exactly thrilled when the American people soundly rejected their first health care "reform" scam.
So now, instead of heeding the will of the people, they've decided to take off the gloves.
It's almost as if they're saying; Oh... so you (the American people) didn't like our first health care offering... fine... we'll show you who's boss... let's see how you like what we're going to ram down your throats now.
But you can stop them... you can make a difference ... you've already made a huge difference.
Your Blast Faxes and phone calls were the reason the Pelosi-Reid Congress had to put the brakes on each and every previous incarnation of ObamaCare.
You made a difference then and you can make a difference right now.
With this latest bill, Pelosi, Obama and Reid are hoping that the American people are tired... that you will give up on this fight. Let's prove them wrong.
Let's put a lid on this scheme once and for all.
The time to speak up is now.

BREAKING NEWS - Another Shooting in Salisbury
AFP Rally In Washington & Belair
AFP-Maryland encourages citizens to rally in DC and Bel Air to have voice heard
With health care vote imminent, may be last chance to sway swing votes –
ANNAPOLIS – Speaker Nancy Pelosi has made it clear this week that she would like to have HR 3962, the government health care overhaul, voted on by the House of Representatives on either Friday or Saturday. In response, hundreds of Marylanders headed to a rally at the Capitol today at Noon to have their voices heard. Buses left this morning from Ocean City, Salisbury, Annapolis, Bel Air and Hagerstown.
“We are encouraging our members to get out and tell the government to keep their hands off our health care,” said AFP-Maryland State Director Dave Schwartz. “Speaker Pelosi and the liberals in Congress are taking a huge political risk by bringing this trillion dollar health care bill to a vote. Tuesday’s election results should send a message to all members of the House: if you continue to run up deficits and spend our money recklessly, we will vote you out of office.”
Along with the rally in DC, AFP-Maryland is also encouraging citizens to attend a rally in Bel Air near Rep. Frank Kratovil’s (D-MD01) district office. Kratovil, a Democrat from Maryland’s 1st Congressional district, has not stated his position on the current House bill. Details are below:
What: Rally to stop HR3962

Audrey Scott Attacks Vovak At Republican Headquarters Over Nominations
Vovak explains, "Either Audrey Scott couldn't remember my name, which would be worrisome, or she was trying to belittle me in a disrespectful way at our State headquarters. I don't think this is the way forward for the Maryland Republican Party. Instead, we should welcome competition and newcomers with vigorous debate over issues."
Anne Arundel County Chairman Alan Rzepkowski openly (and respectfully) rebuked Audrey Scott, telling her to talk only about her own campaign. Then Rzepkowski allowed Vovak to give his five-minute stump speech. Vovak says two committeemen will nominate him, though he needs a third nomination. One includes Wicomico Chairman John Bartkovich, though Vovak is temporarily keeping the other name (from Baltimore) secret. Nominations must be received by the Nominations Chairman by Friday, November 13, 2009.
"If Bob Ehrlich can strategically delay his possible campaign for governor, then so can I," says Vovak. "Our Maryland Republican Party is facing serious financial difficulties and I wanted to carefully consider my rigorous duties as potential chairman before I entered the contest. If Audrey Scott really has this race 'locked up,' then it is a sad day for Maryland Republicans. Why even bother with an expensive convention if a chairman is going to be appointed; because otherwise the small votes of members of the committee don't matter to her."
A conservative Republican, Vovak has now sent the nomination form to the full committee. He is requesting a Republican on the committee to spend five minutes and fill out the form to allow an election (with a physical ballot) for Maryland chairman. "With this strategy, maybe I'll even get more than three nominations!" says Vovak.
One looming question remains: How could Audrey Scott know the status of Vovak's nomination?
Vovak has stated that Nominations Chairman Mark Uncapher should recuse himself because of his public endorsement of Audrey Scott. Further, Uncapher is violating two Republican bylaws. The first violation is Article VIII: Section 1, f-1-c, which states that the nominating committee cannot make "recommendations" for a future chairman. Vovak also says that as a Nominations Chairman, Uncapher is violating his Republican Oath of Office (Article XI: Section 2, d-2) by exercising "partiality" and "prejudice" towards Audrey Scott by endorsing her and promising to write her nomination letter. Vovak believes a Nominations Chairman should remain neutral.

Fights Break Out At Bennett High School
Breaking News On Brooke Mulford
CT Scan is CLEAR!
Brooke had her abdominal CT Scan today and there was no evidence of disease in the area where it all started (her initial solid tumor was in her right adrenal gland which was removed in May). She still has her bone marrow biopsy tomorrow (Thurs) morning (arrive at 8:30am) and an MIBG scan at 1:30pm. Keep praying for NED!
I met with Dr. Mosse regarding the Chimeric Anitbody (ch14.18) clinical trial that Brooke is enrolled in and will begin on Nov. 18th and will last about 6 months. The info I am about to give you is from the packet I received from CHOP. Children with high risk Neuroblastoma often respond to standard treatment at first, but there is a high risk that the cancer will come back. This study is being done to try and improve the likelihood that the cancer will not come back.
Brooke will receive the experimental treatment ch14.18 + IL2 + GM-CSF + Accutane.
This study involves the use of ch14.18, a monoclonal antibody. Monoclonal antibodies are proteins made in the lab, designed to attach to specific cancer cells. Ch14.18 was designed to attach to Neuroblastoma cells and other cancer cells that have GD-2 on their cells. When ch14.18 attaches to the NB cells, the body’s immune system is stimulated to attack and kill the NB cells. Ch14.18 represents a new kind of cancer therapy that, unlike chemotherapy and radiation, targets the destruction of cancer cells without destroying nearby healthy cells.
IL2 is a substance that is similar to a substance made by the body in all individuals. Under normal circumstances, the body makes small amounts of IL2 that helps white blood cells fight infection. It is now possible to make IL2 outside the body and give humans much higher doses than their own body makes. There is some evidence that IL2 increases the anti-cancer effect of monoclonal antibodies like ch14.18.
GM-CSF helps the body to produce infection fighting white blood cells.
Accutane is a drug closely related to vitamin A and has been shown to help stop the multiplication of remaining NB cells.
There are 5 very long pages of risks and side effects from these drugs which I won’t go into detail on but the common side effects that I’ve heard about are extreme pain, high fevers & rash/hives. If you look at all the possible side effects you would probably wonder why we would choose to put Brooke through all of this. The fact is, without this her chances of long term survival aren’t great. This clinical trial has been shown to increase survival 20% which is huge. Brooke has done so well with all of her treatments so far and is so tough that I just hope and pray that she will tolerate this well too.
Well , it’s getting late and I’m drained. Please keep Brooke in your prayers. Thurs is a big day for us. I’m not sure when we will get the results (MIBG results hopefully by Friday but Bone Marrow Biopsies seem to take a few days). I will try to post something as soon as I hear.
God Bless,
Amy

"Funds for new lungs raised across the globe"
Two days ago Salisbury News provided this article: New Lungs For Chuck Interview.
I'm flattered that Mr. Bassett would allow Greg Latshaw to follow our lead, sit back in his Office and pretty much never have to leave all day. Just watch Salisbury News and see what draws lots of comments and then publish your own version of Salisbury News and away you go.
Here's the funny part Folks. The most important part of what I do, perhaps my biggest goal with Salisbury News since we started was to get ALL of the MSM telling the news "I" wanted out there.
Mission Accomplished.
Complete BS!
"I took an oath over 10 years ago, and I will not waiver from that oath while I am still chief of police. I will continue to uphold the law and lead the men and women of the Salisbury Police Department to reduce crime as we did in 2007 and 2008."
Crime has gone UP, not down Chiefy. We have proven it year after year. You can try to play with numbers all you want but this is complete BS.
You took an oath, please! Mr. I didn't see anything, as witnesses stated one after the other in Court that Webster "yanked Casey Tilghman, (daughter of former Mayor Barrie Tilghman) off of Rachel Polk" in a physical altercation after a City Council Meeting. Polk achieved a Peace Order against Tilghman. In fact, the Judge stated, of course you're going to get your Peace Order. If you can't trust your own Chief of Police, who can you trust.
Then of course there's the lawsuit Webster filed against me stating he was a resident of one County, yet he resided in another County. As far as I'm concerned Chief Webster, your oath is one of convenience. Whenever it seems to fit your Police Officer image, you use it as if we're supposed to believe it.
Mark McIver, who heads the Chamber of Commerce Crime Task Force has delivered hard evidence showing Part 1 crimes, (murder, rape, etc.) is way up in the City of Salisbury. Salisbury News has delivered the facts two years in a row and the information comes directly from the FBI.
Folks, wait until my Show airs this Saturday. A good portion of the Show is based on Chief Webster and Barrie Tilghman. This recent flood of lawsuit news will bring this Show right over the top because I challenge and tackle these exact issues/people. Comcast won't even have a meter big enough to see just how many people are watching this Show!
OK, besides all that. Here's my thoughts on the Webster BS Lawsuit. I believe old Chiefy is doing this for one reason only. He's trying to bring a 12 year old case back to light and get this information brought into evidence against Councilwoman Debbie Campbell. Chiefy knows he's outta here and before he goes he's going to do anything and everything to bring down Debbie.
Davis Ruark already passed on his "opinion" on the 12 year old case and there is NO CRIME and it's past its statute of limitation, DROP IT! Webster lost out big time there, so why not sue everyone and bring this information back publicly in an attempt to bash a woman who has proven to make the Chief and former Mayor look like crap. And how did she make them look like crap, she told the truth.
Remember Folks, these are people who claim crime is down, the WWTP was 99.9% compliant and they take full responsibility. PLEASE! I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.
Put Webster on Administrative Leave and get this drama queen out of the way and let's start fighting crime.

GOP success could encourage Ehrlich
ANNAPOLIS -- Republican victories in the Virginia and New Jersey governors' races may or may not indicate a national comeback for the GOP, but they could convince former Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich that the time is right for a Republican to reclaim the state's top political office.
Expect Ehrlich To Run For Governor In Maryland
That was our title at 7:30 AM yesterday morning. It's no wonder we're #2 and the Daily Times wasn't even in the Top 10 Rankings. I can tell you that I did speak to someone very close to Bob yesterday and he stated that he will poll again next month to see where people stand and if it looks good he'll more than likely run for Governor.

NY-23, WHO IS BILL OWENS
Bill Owens required special permission to run as a Democrat because he is a registered Independent. See http://www.pressrepublican.com/ also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/bill_owens_(congressman) You will find his late law partner was an icon of the Republican party. There is no connection to the Democrats, but he is a lawyer that can advocate for any client paying him.
http://www.cnsnews.com/ reports he is opposed to the"public health care" option. http://www.irregulattimes.com/ reports he is opposed to "Gay marriage"
Of course this is not the first time Democrats practiced deception. Perhaps Pelosi will hypnotize him as she did to Frank Kratovil. Both will stand for re-election in twelve months. Kratovil has already established a dubious record as a Pelosi lap dog. He is still fudging on health care awaiting instructions from Pelosi. Should Owens become another lap dog and ignore the platform he ran on, He wont even get to serve a full term.

Dr. Starner
Dear Sirs: "During my last night's shift in the ER, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a shiny new gold tooth, multiple elaborate tattoos, a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and a new cellular telephone equipped with her favorite R&B tune for a ringtone. Glancing over the chart, one could not help noticing her payer status: Medicaid. She smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and, somehow, still has money to buy beer.
And our Congress expects me to pay for this woman's health care? Our nation's health care crisis is not a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. It is a crisis of culture - a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. A culture that thinks "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me". Life is really not that hard. Most of us reap what we sow.
Don't you agree?

Maryland #5 In Electricity Cost Makes "BIGGEST LOSERS"
MARYLAND Ranks # 5 Electricity Costs Increases Per Household
Barbara Boxer hopes to use the distractions of health care to force a vote in her committee on the Boxer-Kerry Cap and Trade bill without having the EPA cost estimates of the bill. Analysis shows the Boxer-Kerry Bill is even more stringent than the Waxman proposal.
The Waxman-Markey “Cap and Trade” bill that passed the U.S. House on June 26 may see Senate action soon. The economic impacts of this new energy tax legislation are not only devastating to the national economy, but they represent an uneven burden for states.
The burden of paying for this legislation will fall to all Americans, but it will burden some states more than others. Some states will pay higher gas prices than others while some will suffer greater job losses. What accounts for the disparities? Certainly the makeup of local economies plays a role, but the language of the Waxman-Markey bill itself picks winners and losers as the details of permit allocation and other provisions reflect compromise deals with lawmakers and industries. The result is a high cost distributed unevenly and unfairly.
Using state-level data published recently by the Heritage Foundation, we have ranked the states based on four measures of average annual economic loss as a result of Waxman-Markey: job loss, gross state product loss per capita*, electricity cost increases, and gas price increases. Remember, even if your state is not in the top 10, you’re still a loser!

Stop Senate Vote Of Cap And Trade Without Full EPA Cost Analysis!
SOON MARYLAND 5th HIGHEST ELECTRICITY RATES IN U.S.
Senator Cardin is a member of Senator Boxer's committee that will vote on Cap and Trade this WEEK.
Senator Boxer wants to force a VOTE without full EPA cost analysis!!
Maryland will rank as #5 in highest electricity cost per household(see chart)
Congratulations Maryland !! #5 in the country!
Barbara Boxer is trying to pull a fast one!
She wants to force her outrageous Boxer-Kerry cap-and-trade energy rationing and taxing scheme through the Senate Environment and Public Workers Committee this week, while the country is focused on health care. Sen. Boxer is even trying to force it through without the official EPA analysis of what's in the bill and how much it will cost.
It's bad enough to try to pass the biggest tax hike in history, hidden in what's supposed to be an environmental bill. But slamming it through a committee when it hasn't even been analyzed by the EPA is wrong. The public has a right to know what's in the bill and what the EPA thinks it will cost.
Committee votes matter, because once a senator supports something in committee it's very hard for them to change their mind on later votes. That makes it even more outrageous that the first votes could be cast while much of the bill-and its sky-high costs for regular Americans-remain secret.
Call Senator Ben Cardin and tell them no mark-up without a full EPA analysis, and that even with everything else going on, you know how important cap-and-trade is and you are paying attention.

Al Gore To Be World’s First ‘Green’ Billionaire
British newspaper the Telegraph reports that former Vice President Al Gore is on track to becoming the world’s first ‘green’ billionaire.
Last year Mr Gore’s venture capital firm loaned a small California firm $75m to develop energy-saving technology.
The company, Silver Spring Networks, produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient.
The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants, the New York Times reports. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts.
The move means that venture capital company Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.
It took us Europeans a while, but we’re finally waking up to the fact that Gore and other climate change cultists may not have had our interests in mind, when they advocated we should use “green energy.” Experts like the British Lord Monckton and the Dutchman Hans Labohm have tried to educate the Old Continent about this matter for years; it appears as if they are finally making some progress.
The above doesn’t mean that the majority of Europeans have become global warming critics. European media and most politicians continue to pretend that this is the main challenge facing “our generation.” They have become experts in scaremongering and their efforts to scare voters into agreeing to policies that are harmful to them, continue to pay off. Still, the more headlines my fellow Europeans read about how Gore et al. are enriching themselves, the likelier it is they’ll become just as cynical as Americans. And that should give us all hope, because has historically been Europe that pushes for global warming treaties that’ll ruin Western economies.

Chief Webster Sues The City...AGAIN
Only in Salisbury does the Mayor of the city find out he is being sued in the local newspaper. No need to wonder how every document pertaining to this issue made it's way to the newspaper. Mayor your chief of police has some serious issues. After being on the job for 40 years it is time for him to seriously consider retirement.
If this man (Webster) spent half as much time doing real police work as he does filing lawsuits against the city that employs him and private citizens, we would not be the 2nd most dangerous city, per capita, in the U.S..
An investigation ordered by Barrie Tilghman, based on incidents from 1998, just before Election Day in April 2009. Barrie did not think Debbie would win the first time she ran for office, running scared when Debbie ran for reelection she pulls this stunt just before the recent election in April, hoping it would work against Debbie Campbell. Like most underhanded things Barrie Tilghman has pulled in the past, it backfired in her face. Debbie Campbell garnered more votes than anyone, EVER.
Barrie Tilghman pulls something out of her hat that occurred before Webster worked for the city. Davis Ruark has already stated there was NO CRIME and even if there was a crime the statute of limitations has run out. Assuming Ireton based his decision to order Webster to halt the investigation based on the States Attorneys input; he was well within his rights to do so. Instead of following a direct order from his superior, Webster would rather waste time and resources retaliating against Campbell than to put these taxpayer funded resources to work fighting very real crime problems in the city.
Well of course he would want Moe, Larry and Curly aka Smith, Comegys and Shields, to be the determining body, he knows they will side with him on anything he wants. Ray Charles could see through this scheme. As for Lore Chambers holding a lower rank, Chief needs to back up and regroup. Miss Chambers is better educated and more qualified to sit on a grievance board than Moe, Larry or Curly.
Mr. Cockey wants to talk about what’s fair. Is it fair to Debbie Campbell that the chief launch an investigation into something of which he has no first hand knowledge? Is it fair to defame the character of Debbie Campbell? Is it fair for the chief of police to continue to collect a tax payer funded salary while the city burns?
Mind you, like Terry Cohen, I don’t have a certificate on the wall but… Mr. Cockey whining about what is fair and what the handbook does or does not say is absolutely ridiculous. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or even a law degree to click on the city website and search for the ordinance passed by Mike Dunn, Michael Day, Lynn Cathcart, and Gary Comegys.
ORDINANCE NO. 1926 - 2ND READING - AMENDING PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 2.24, PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
Mr. Comegys moved and Mr. Day seconded to approve Ordinance No. 1926 for second reading. City Solicitor Paul Wilber provided a brief overview of Ordinance No. 1926 amending Chapter 2.24, Personnel Rules and Regulations of the Salisbury Municipal Code. The Ordinance removes the City Council as the City Personnel Board, but the Council would still adopt the rules and regulations in the Employee Handbook.
Ordinance No. 1926 for second reading passed on a 4-1 vote with Ms. Siggers voting nay.
Webster’s claims of retaliation are as bogus as he. Campbell and Cohen are sworn, duly elected representatives of the people. It is their job to do exactly as they have done. Webster thinks he is above reproach, above the law. Webster is above the law, he is 3 floors above the law enforcement officers on the ground level, and that is it. Need we remind him of how he perjured himself in court during the Rachel Polk trial? A veteran police officer having obtained the rank of chief doesn’t see an assault happening 20 feet away from him, doesn’t hear screaming and yelling from 20 feet away? Just because Barrie Tilghman let him be a figurehead chief doesn’t mean Ireton was going to continue in the same way. Ireton issued a direct order. Webster disobeyed a direct order. INSUBORDINATION.
Webster accuses Campbell and Cohen of violating the city’s whistleblower policy. Where does Webster get this whistleblower crap? There has to be a crime to blow a whistle. What part of NO CRIME does he not understand? Again, Davis Ruark has stated there was NO CRIME.
The only person retaliating here is Webster. Debbie Campbell has every right to ask for all materials from the bogus investigation. She is being defamed by the Chief of Police, publicly, in the newspaper. She has every right to know the basis of the investigation. The best they could do was come up with a letter recently written by Mark Tyler? How is that evidence? Just because he’s a cop doesn’t make it true. Cops do lie. Remember Mark Furmann? How about Chief Webster? They lied. Did Mark Tyler lie? Only he knows the answer to that.
Robin Cockey is an attorney, thereby being a man of higher education; yet, he doesn’t know the definition of INSUBORDINATION. He claims Webster did nothing wrong and shouldn’t have a disciplinary record. Hey Robin, when your mother told you not to do something and you did it, was that wrong? Was that insubordinate? Did you get put in time out? What part of DIRECT ORDER do you not understand?
Jim Ireton is right in directing Wilber to ask the courts to dismiss this frivolous lawsuit. He is right, to stop the waste of any more of the taxpayers money on Webster or to waste the courts time. Good job, Mayor Ireton.

DOWNPAYMENT MADE ON SOCIALIZED MEDICINE
FRAMEWORK LEGALIZED AND BILLIONS ALLOTED
(Intentionally Hidden in Stimulus Bill to Deceive Americans)
More important than ever to DEFEAT HEALTHCARE BILL
'A downpayment was made on socialized medicine' is a phrase you may have heard when the Stimulus Bill was passed. Though innocent sounding it means more than dollars. Tragically thanks to the Stimulus Bill a downpayment was made on socialized medicine in February that included billion dollar funding and legalized the framework to create socialized medicine. Slipped in without discussion, billions of dollars and a framework are now law. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, the failed nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.
Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.
But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.” Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far.
New Penalties
Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties. “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541) Penalties will deter your doctor from going beyond the electronically delivered protocols when your condition is atypical or you need an experimental treatment. An appointed body with vast powers will make the “tough” decisions elected politicians won’t make.
There will be rationing and treatments will be determined by a board or council of 15 members that have already been appointed. The stimulus bill calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.
Elderly Hardest Hit
Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt. Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill changes that and applys a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).
The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board that approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis. Seniors in the U.S. will face similar rationing.
Defenders of the system say that individuals benefit in younger years and sacrifice later.
The stimulus bill will affect every part of health care, from medical and nursing education, to how patients are treated and how much hospitals get paid. The bill allocates more funding for this bureaucracy than for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force combined (90-92, 174-177, 181).
Hiding health legislation in a stimulus bill is intentional. Since the Clinton administration’s health-care overhaul in 1994 failed due to debate and delay, Daschle advises quick action before critics mount an opposition. “If that means attaching a health-care plan to the federal budget, so be it,” he said. “The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol.”
Sadly, the Stimulus bill was passed with little scrutiny paid to the health provisions.
The health-care industry is the largest employer in the U.S. It produces almost 17 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product. Yet the bill treats health care the way European governments do: as a cost problem instead of a growth industry. Imagine limiting growth and innovation in the electronics or auto industry during this downturn. This stimulus is dangerous to your health and the economy.

SALISBURY MAYOR MAKES STATEMENT REGARDING RECENTLY FILED LITIGATION
Mayor Ireton stated, “The City of Salisbury Charter and Employee Handbook clearly states the grievance process, and that process applies to all city employees, including Allan Webster. This lawsuit is a distraction from solving the serious problem of crime that we have in Salisbury and is an attempt to subvert our City Charter. It is a distraction to our citizens and our police officers on the street.
That being said, I will direct City Attorney Paul Wilbur to move to dismiss this frivolous lawsuit immediately. While Part One crimes are up 11% so far this year, it is farfetched to believe it is possible to serve and protect the same citizens you are suing.
All City of Salisbury employees and department heads follow the rules laid out for them in the City Charter and Employee handbook; they agree to these rules and regulations while employed. It is unacceptable and unlawful for one employee to decide to write the rules over in order to suit one’s self.”
Italian Auction
Read before watching!
A Chinese Ming vase is up for auction. The bidding opens at a half-million Euros. Bidding is brisk and each bidder is clearly identified as each raises the bid by 100,000 Euros. (The exchange rate today is 1 Euro = $1.54.) Within seconds, the bid stalls at one million Euros, and the gasp from the crowd identifies the excitement that prevails in the room.
The successful bidder is the last one who bid one million, and the auctioneer counts down the bid... "Going once, going twice, and sold to the gentleman sitting in front of me for one million Euros."
Now, you are going to have to see the video for yourself to see the surprising conclusion.
Letter From Grandpa
John has a granddaughter . Ashley is a recent college grad. She drives a flashy hybrid car, wears all the latest fashions, and loves to go out to nightclubs and restaurants . Ashley campaigned hard for Barack Obama. After the election she made sure her grandfather (and all other Republican family members) received a big I told-you-so earful on how the world is going to be a much better place now that her party is taking over.
Having lost both roommates, Ashley recently ran short of cash and cannot pay the rent (again) on her 3 bedroom townhouse. Like she has done many times in the past, she e-mailed her grandfather asking for some financial help. Here is his reply:
Sweetheart,
I received your request for assistance .. Ashley, you know I love you dearly and I'm sympathetic to your financial plight. Unfortunately, times have changed . With the election of President Obama, your grandmother and I have had to set forth a bold new economic plan of our own . . . "The Ashley Economic Empowerment Plan . " Let me explain.
Your grandmother and I are life-long, wage-earning tax payers .. We have lived a comfortable life, as you know, but we have never had the fancier things like European vacations, luxury cars, etc. We have worked hard and were looking forward to retiring soon. But the plan has changed. Your president is raising our personal and business taxes significantly. He says it is so he can give our hard earned money to other people. Do you know what this means, Ashley? It means less for us, and we must cut back on many business and personal expenses.
You know the wonderful receptionist who worked in my office for more than 23 years? The one who always gave you candy when you came over to visit? I had to let her go last week. I can't afford to pay her salary and all of the government mandated taxes that go with having employees. Your grandmother will now work 4 days a week to answer phones, take orders and handle the books. We will be closed on Fridays and will lose even more income to the Wal-Mart.
I'm also very sorry to report that your cousin Frank will no longer be working summers in the warehouse. I called him at school this morning. He already knows about it and he's upset because he will have to give up skydiving and his yearly trip to Greenland to survey the polar bears.
That's just the business side of things. Some personal economic effects of Obama's new taxation policies include none other than you. You know very well that over the years your grandmother and I have given you thousands of dollars in cash, tuition assistance, food, housing, clothing, gifts, etc., etc. But by your vote, you have chosen to help others -- not at your expense -- but at our expense.
If you need money now sweetheart, I recommend you call 202-456-1111. That is the direct phone number for the White House. You yourself told me how foolish it is to vote Republican. You said Mr. Obama is going to be the People's President, and is going to help every American live a better life.
Based on everything you've told me, along with all the promises we heard during the campaign, I'm sure Mr. Obama will be happy to transfer some stimulus money into your bank account. Have him call me for the account number which I memorized years ago.
Perhaps you can now understand what I've been saying all my life: those who vote for a president should consider the impact on the nation as a whole, and not be just concerned with what they can get for themselves. What Obama supporters don't seem to realize is all of the money he is redistributing to illegal aliens and non-taxpaying Americans (the so-called "less fortunate") comes from tax-paying families.
Remember how you told me, "Only the richest of the rich will be affected"? Well guess what, honey? Because we own a business, your grandmother and I are now considered to be the richest of the rich. On paper, it might look that way, but in the real world, we are far from it.
As you said while campaigning for Obama, some people will have to carry more of the burden so all of America can prosper. You understand what that means, right? It means that raising taxes on productive people results in them having less money; less money for everything, including granddaughters.
I'm sorry, Ashley, but the well has run dry. The free lunches are over. I have no money to give you now. So, congratulations on your choice for "change." For future reference, I encourage you to try and add up the total value of the gifts and cash you have received from us, just since you went off to college, and compare it to what you expect to get from Mr. Obama over the next 4 (or 8) years. I have not kept track of it, Ashley . It has all truly been the gift of our hearts.
Remember, we love you dearly, but from now on you'll need to call the number mentioned above. Your "Savior" has the money we would have given to you. Just try and get it from him.
Good luck, sweetheart.
Love,
Grandpa

Letter From "Frank"
I received an email letter from Frank Kratovil the other day, mainly concerning the health care bill.
But included in the email was this (with my added emphasis):
Earlier this month, I introduced legislation to extend the home-buyers tax credit, which realtors and economists have pointed to as a major factor encouraging the recovery of the housing market in Maryland and across the country. H.R. 3640 will extend the $8,000 tax credit for one year and expand eligibility to include all homebuyers purchasing a principal residence, while also offering tax relief to individuals or families forced to sell their home at a loss. Simply put, this tax credit is working, and in this housing market it would be foolish to allow this program to expire when it is working so effectively. Click here to take a look a the bill and here to view an impartial CRS analysis of the extension.
So he wants the taxpayers to bail out the people who jumped in over their heads during the housing bubble?
Somehow I knew this was coming.
I guess a democrat is a democrat.
Brooke Mulford Update
Just a quick update to let everyone know that Brooke's tests have been moved up to this week. Brooke & I arrived in NJ tonight around 8:45pm (we're staying at Grammy's house for a couple nights). She is scheduled for a CT Scan tomorrow (Wed) at 12:30 with an 11:30 arrival to start drinking the contrast (she does not enjoy that at all). Once we are done with the scan she will get an injection for her MIBG Scan. Then we will head over to clinic where I will be meeting with the doctors to discuss the immunotherapy clinical trial that Brooke will be starting on Nov. 18th.
Thursday morning we will head back over to CHOP first thing in the morning (don't have a time yet but usually between 8-8:30am) for a bone marrow biopsy. Brooke's last biopsy (June I think) showed that there was still Neuroblastoma in her marrow even after 6 rounds of chemo. Praying that the 2 weeks of high dose chemo from her 2 transplants mopped up any remaining cancer. Thurs afternoon at 1:00pm she will have another MIBG scan (Brooke's last MIBG that was done on Sept 10th was clear and praying that this is still the case).
I've heard other parents talk about how stressful scan weeks are. Neuroblastoma is such an aggressive cancer and there is such a high risk of it coming back.
Please keep Brooke in your prayers the next couple of days and pray for NED-No Evidence of Disease!!!!
God Bless,
Amy

Kratovil Votes To Protect Consumers From Unfair And Abusive Credit Card Company Practices
“The CARD Act was a common-sense approach to protect consumers from usurious interest rates and other unfair practices. It’s outrageous that some credit card companies have since tried to jack up their rates to inflict the maximum damage on consumers before the new protections go into effect. The only responsible reaction to this behavior is to move up the timetable for these new consumer protections,” said Rep. Kratovil.
The Expedited CARD Reform for Consumers Act moves the effective date for critical credit card reforms from February 22nd to December 1st. The original legislation includes crucial measures that protect consumers from unfair interest rate hikes on existing balances, double-cycle billing and due-date gimmicks. The common-sense reforms in this bill will bring transparency and fairness to the credit card industry and will provide customers with the information they need to make smart financial decisions.
“Families have enough trouble making ends meet during this recession. The last thing they need is an unfair battle with deceptive credit card companies,” said Rep. Kratovil. “Expediting credit card reforms will level the playing field between consumers and credit card companies and provide much-needed financial relief to consumers.”
