A Salisbury Mother Is In Custody For The Murder Of Her 8-Month Old Baby Girl
On September 16, 2009, 29-year-old Debra Sanches left her 8-month-old baby unattended in the bathtub for an extended period of time. When Sanches returned, she found her 8-month-old baby floating unresponsive in the bathtub.
On Monday, September 21, 2009, a Wicomico County Grand Jury indicted Sanches of 2nd Degree Murder, Involuntary Manslaughter, and 2 Counts of Reckless Endangerment. Assistant State’s Attorney Jamie Dykes says Sanches’s 18-month-old toddler was left in the tub with his 8-month-old sister. The 18-month-old was unharmed.
“These are among the most difficult cases due to the age and vulnerability of an 8-month-old baby,” says State’s Attorney Davis R. Ruark. “Cases of this nature should serve as a strong message to all parents that children are our greatest gifts and we all have a responsibility to love, nourish, and protect them.”
Earlier today, Sanches was taken into custody by Sgt. Mark Wagner and Det. Ryan Mitchell, both assigned to the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center. Substantial assistance was rendered by Sgt. Scott Cook of the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit. Sanches is being held in the Wicomico County Detention Center without bond.
Sanches’s other five children, ranging in age up to 12, are with family members.
If you know of a specific instance of child abuse or neglect, we strongly urge you to notify the proper authorities as soon as possible.

Professor Dalton On The Three War Memoirs By Eisenhower, De Gaulle, And Churchill
"I've checked out Churchill's Second World War and the statement is quite correct - not a single mention of Nazi 'gas chambers,' a 'genocide' of the Jews, or of 'six million' Jewish victims of the war.
Eisenhower's Crusade in Europe is a book of 559 pages; the six volumes of Churchill's Second World War total 4,448 pages; and De Gaulle's three-volume Mémoires de guerre is 2,054 pages.
In this mass of writing, which altogether totals 7,061 pages (not including the introductory parts), published from 1948 to 1959, one will find no mention either of Nazi 'gas chambers,' a 'genocide' of the Jews, or of 'six million' Jewish victims of the war."
Sept. 10, 2009 From Prof. Dalton:
A short follow-up to the statement by Prof Lynn, on the three war memoirs by Eisenhower, De Gaulle, and Churchill:
Eisenhower’s book, Crusade in Europe (1948), is a single volume of some 550 pages—the smallest of the three. Reviewing the index, one finds no listing for ‘Auschwitz’, ‘Holocaust’, or ‘gas chambers’. The single entry for ‘Jews’ refers to the following paragraph:
Of all these displaced persons, the Jews were in the most deplorable condition. For years they had been beaten, starved, and tortured. Even food, clothes, and decent treatment could not immediately enable them to shake off their hopelessness and apathy. They huddled together—they seemingly derived a feeling of safety out of crowding together in a single room—and there passively awaited whatever might befall. To secure for them adequate shelter, to establish a system of food distribution and medical service, to say nothing of providing decent sanitary facilities, heat, and light was a most difficult task. They were, in many instances, no longer capable of helping themselves; everything had to be done for them. (pp. 439-440)
No mention of extermination, mass murder, gassing, crematoria—nothing. Only “beaten, starved, and tortured”—which, given the alternative, isn’t so bad.
De Gaulle’s work, The Complete War Memoirs (1954/1964), consists of three volumes and a total of more than 2,000 pages. In the index we again find no reference whatsoever to ‘Auschwitz’, ‘Holocaust’, or ‘gas chambers’—nor this time even to ‘Jews.’ This being the last-written of the three works (French original in 1954), De Gaulle obviously had plenty of time to reflect on the Holocaust; evidently it merited no discussion at all.
The largest memoir was written by Churchill. The Second World War (1948-1953) is a massive, six-volume account of the war. It consumes nearly 4,500 pages of text. Once again, the indexes (one per volume) have no entries at all for ‘Auschwitz’, ‘Holocaust’, or ‘gas chamber.’ There are a few references to Jews, but most are simple passing comments. Only one entry, out of six volumes, addresses Jewish persecution. In Volume 1, page 58, we find one single phrase: “brutalities towards the Jews were rampant.”
These men all knew what transpired at Nuremberg. They saw the concentration camp photos, and actually visited some of the sites. They had access to the most confidential information available. And yet: no extermination camps, no ‘6 million’, no gas chambers, no Auschwitz—only beatings, starvation, and assorted brutalities. One could almost be forgiven for thinking there was no ‘Holocaust’ at all.
--Thomas Dalton.

Suspect(s): Jason Vinckx, 39, of West Greenshire Court in Claymont, Delaware
Resume: Detectives from the Delaware State Police Burglary Squad at Troop 2 have arrested Jason Vinckx, of Claymont, for his involvement in a series of burglaries which date back to May 15th.
For an unknown reason, Vinckx primarily targeted the Wilmington restaurant Mr. Pasta on Philadelphia Pike. He hit this place on 8 separate occasions and stole money. Aside from this eatery, Vinckx also struck the other locations listed above. He simply broke into the businesses by damage an exterior door or window and mainly looked for cash.
Approximately one week ago, Troop 1 patrol officers stopped Vinckx off of Marsh Road as he was riding through area shopping centers in a suspicious manner. Although he was not charged, patrol officers shared this intelligence with burglary detectives. A mug shot of Jason Vinckx was then compared with surveillance video at several of the burglary scenes and a positive match was noted.
Armed with an arrest warrant, last evening detectives responded to Overlook Colony and located the suspect at his girlfriend’s residence on 3rd Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 1 for processing. He was linked to 12 separate incidents and charged with 49 total burglary related offenses (comprised of both felonies and misdemeanors). He was committed to the Howard Young correctional Institute in lieu of an $82,400.00 secured bond.

Slam It And Jam It
Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday turned back a Republican amendment to wait 72 hours and require a full cost estimate before the final committee vote on the health care reform bill.
It was the committee's first vote out of more than 500 amendments awaiting them, in what has already been a contentious mark-up session.
The amendment would have delayed a vote on the final bill for about two weeks to allow the Congressional Budget Office to complete its final analysis on the cost and implications of the legislation......"
The American people are angry that Speaker Pelosi didn't allow the public and their elected representatives to read the trillion-dollar 'stimulus' bill or the national energy tax before they were rammed through the House," Minority Leader John Boehner, Ohio Republican, said Wednesday. "Congress can, and must, do better."
PUBLIC WARNING
Obama is wrong when he promises you that you can keep your current healthcare plan and your doctor if his public option passes.
Here are two simple reasons why he is either lying, yet again, or he knows nothing about the subject:
1. Your employer decides your health plan. If your employer chooses his cheaper public option with inferior services, you will lose your current plan. His public option will be cheaper because he will fund it with taxpayer money. The more he funds it, the more he can outcompete (not in quality but in cost to employers) the private plans.
2. If you become a member of his public option and he slashes doctors’ fees as he has stated he would, your doctor might have no choice but to redirect you to another, lesser doctor who is employed by his public option.
Either way, if Obama's public option passes, there is a good chance your healthcare will change significantly. Don't believe those who tell you otherwise.
As your parents used to say, “If you do nothing about this, don’t come crying to me later.”
Salisbury Police Department Press Releases
On September 22, 2009 at approximately 8:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of Fitzwater St. and heard what was believed to be multiple gunshots originating in the area of Second Street. The officer responded to the source of the gunshots and observed a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. The officer pursued the vehicle onto Marine Road, where the vehicle was abandoned and the suspects fled from the vehicle on foot. Efforts by the responding officers to locate the suspects, and an effort by a K-9 provided by the Wicomico County Sheriffs Office were negative. Three (3) handguns were located in the area of the abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen from the Waterside Apartments. The officers met with two (2) victims of the shooting on Second Street. The first victim reported hearing the gunshots and found that the window to her vehicle had been shattered. The second victim also heard the gunshots and found that one (1) projectile had penetrated the siding of her front porch. There were no injuries. This investigation is continuing.

STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER, WELL MAYBE
The Supreme Court ruled that it was the right of Americans to join the countries enemies in burning the flag. Any mention of God or his symbols are banned from public property. The words of the Constitution are twisted into something the founding fathers would not recognize. In their wisdom they provided a mechanism to amend the constitution. They established the Supreme Court to insure the words were obeyed and not to debate changing the meaning. Officials were obliged to swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. We now witness their working to find ways to circumvent that document.
As great as the founding fathers were, they did not foresee how their ideals would be corrupted by power seekers. It is not likely that they thought a man could spend fifty years in congress feathering his own nest or that the other members would protect him. They believed voters would be intelligent enough to rid the country of these men of questionable motives. Perhaps that is why the government wants God out of the publics mind.

NO TAX INCREASE SAID SOMERSET COMMISSIONERS YET PROPERTY OWNERS SEE INCREASE!
What happened?
Somerset County Commissioners claimed to not raise property taxes. Even local papers dutifully followed in lockstep proclaiming "No Tax Increases".
What no one bothered explaining to the citizens of Somerset County and what the Commissioners left unadjusted is the CONSTANT YIELD RATE. If the constant yield rate remains the same as last year, the higher assessments will result in higher taxes.
For 2009 taxes to remain at the same dollar amount collected as 2008, the constant yield rate SHOULD HAVE BEEN DECREASED BY $ 0.12 (twelve cents). Not the $ 0.02 as proudly proclaimed by the County Commissioners.
The Somerset County Commissioners proudly proclaimed no tax increases yet your taxes may indeed be higher than 2008. To make matters worse, plummeting real estate values have rendered current assessments inaccurate.
As property values nosedive well below 2007 levels, assessments continue their three year upward spike. To be fairly taxed on the current decreasing land values, the constant yield rate should be dropped $0.20 (twenty cents). Then the County Commissioners could honestly claim to have not raised your taxes. Until then folks, it's a TAX INCREASE!
The group responsible for influencing the tax reduction is Americans For Prosperity. Americans For Prosperity, Somerset, will meet in Princess Anne on Tuesday, September 29 at 7:00 in Beach to Bay Seafood (opposite McDonalds). Arrive at 6:45 if wish to order delicious seafood.
Obama Will Spend More on Welfare in the Next Year Than Bush Spent On Entire Iraq War, Study Reveals
“Because of the Bush-McCain policies, our debt has ballooned,” then-Sen. Barack Obama told a Charleston, W.V., crowd in March 2008. “This is creating problems in our fragile economy. And that kind of debt also places an unfair burden on our children and grandchildren, who will have to repay it.”
During the entire administration of George W. Bush, the Iraq war cost a total of $622 billion, according to the Congressional Research Service.
President Obama’s welfare spending will reach $888 billion in a single fiscal year--2010--more than the Bush administration spent on war in Iraq from the first “shock and awe” attack in 2003 until Bush left office in January.
Obama’s spending proposals call for the largest increases in welfare benefits in U.S. history, according to a report by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. This will lead to a spending total of $10.3 trillion over the next decade on various welfare programs. These include cash payments, food, housing, Medicaid and various social services for low-income Americans and those at 200 percent of the poverty level, or $44,000 for a family of four. Among that total, $7.5 trillion will be federal money and $2.8 trillion will be federally mandated state expenditures.

Notify Your Sheriff If Forced To Vaccinate
Here is an interesting YouTube from an ex-sheriff in Arizona:
As you know, the vaccine issue is big for me and I am convinced many people in your audience are not well educated about vaccines. I believe you have led the way so far in Salisubury with education by posting several articles about the vaccines. Please consider becoming recognized as the "Official Site for Vaccine Information". This could truly be a great service to our community.
Specifically, people need to learn about adjuvants which are additives that boost the immune system into action. It's purpose is to make the vaccine fast acting. Many people however become harmed by adjuvants and the information simply has been supressed. Additionally, thimerasol (mercury) is being used as a preservative. People should at least request (demand) a mercury-free vaccine. Mercury is a known poison to humans and its presence in the vaccines is simply ignored. There is also a huge difference between live virus vaccines and dead virus vaccines. All four of the currently approved swine flu vaccines are live virus. This means people will shed the live virus after being injected. There are lots of questions about the resulting evolution of these "shedded" live virus strains? Finally, there are many scientists / microbiologists who insist that the current swine flu virus is man made. If the flu itself is man made (probably to be used as a bio weapon) and the vaccines contain live virus, then the corporations involved in profiteering from the pandemic are the same ones who helped "make" the virus! Think about it.
YOUR GOVERNMENT IN ACTION
I just returned from an appointment with my wife's doctor and have been unable to confirm what he told us. Perhaps someone can can get confirmation. If correct this is unbelievable.
The proposed health care legislation reduces Medicare reimbursement for Cardiology and Cancer treatment, but leaves Dermatology intact. So if you have a rash your doctor will be paid.
However, if you suffer from a heart problem or have cancer you might have trouble finding a doctor.

2010 Census Cautions
by Susan Johnson - August 3, 2009 12:07 pm
Be Cautious About Giving Info to Census Workers
With the U.S. Census process beginning, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) advises people to be cooperative, but cautious, so as not to become a victim of fraud or identity theft. The first phase of the 2010 U.S. Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country. Eventually, more than 140,000 U.S. Census workers will count every person in the United States and will gather information about every person living at each address including name, age, gender, race, and other relevant data. The big question is - how do you tell the difference between a U.S. Census worker and a con artist? BBB offers the following advice:
** If a U.S. Census worker knocks on your door, they will have a badge, a handheld device, a Census Bureau canvas bag, and a confidentiality notice. Ask to see their identification and their badge before answering their questions. However, you should never invite anyone you don't know into your home.
** Census workers are currently only knocking on doors to verify address information. Do not give your Social Security number, credit card or banking information to anyone, even if they claim they need it for the U.S. Census. While the Census Bureau might ask for basic financial information, such as a salary range, it will not ask for Social Security, bank account, or credit card numbers nor will employees solicit donations.
Eventually, Census workers may contact you by telephone, mail, or in person at home. However, they will not contact you by Email, so be on the lookout for Email scams impersonating the Census.
Never click on a link or open any attachments in an Email that are supposedly from the U.S. Census Bureau.
For more advice on avoiding identity theft and fraud, visit www.bbb.org.

Gay Public Officials
"In 1991, just 49 public officials in the United States said they were gay, said Chuck Wolfe, president and CEO of the Victory Fund, a Washington D.C.-based group that works to get such candidates elected. Now, more than 440 out-of-the-closet gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals hold public office, according to the group, which also names 17 openly gay elected officials in Illinois."

Route 13 Closure Finished Far Ahead Of Schedule
Middletown -- When Delaware Department of Transportation crews re-opened Route 13 nears Boyds Corner late Saturday evening, they may have been smiling under their hardhats.
Hard work, meticulous planning and a healthy amount of midnight oil combined to allow crews to finish the planned closure within about 28 hours, nearly two days sooner than expected.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed, starting at 7 p.m. Friday, so that crews could install drainage systems on the widened road. The closure was planned to finish Monday at 5 a.m. But crews were putting away the orange cones and opening the road at about 9 p.m., Saturday, about 40 hours ahead of schedule.
''We knew that this closure was going to inconvenience thousands of motorists, so we did everything we could to make this closure as short as possible,'' said DelDOT Secretary Carolann Wicks. ''To finish so early is a remarkable achievement for everyone who worked on this project. From the designers who conceived of the improvements, to the construction engineers who made plans, and, of course, we must congratulate the crews from A-Del Construction. We are fortunate in Delaware to work with such companies on a regular basis.''
Performed by A-Del Construction Company, the work is projected to be completed by Fall of 2010. The overall cost is $4.3 million.
This important safety project will provide an additional northbound and southbound lane on Route 13 from the intersection with Greylag Road to Augustine Creek. There will also be an additional left turn lane from Boyds Corner Road onto Route 13. The remaining turn-lanes will be lengthened to provide additional capacity. In addition to the road construction, crews will need to make significant changes to drainage, pavement markings and signage. Crews will also relocate many utilities such as power lines.
Future impacts will be announced as the project progresses.

Kurt Drechsler said he would suggest we discuss the financing with members who own a business that would be interested in purchasing advertising space. The tax exemption matter was discussed but nothing was decided.
2. Home Owners Association Contacts:
Mayor Ireton made copies of the HOA list of address/contacts for Cindy Pilchard and Julie Glanz which Jim Fineran had put together with information from County Public Works. The list will be helpful in promoting the WNC.
3. 2nd Annual Convention:
Mayor Ireton said the university will be the site again for the convention. Suggested ways to promote the upcoming event were through e-mail by individual member’s contacts and neighborhood association contacts, flyers on campus and other locations, the media by community events listings, regular mailings and members asking friends to attend.
Cindy Pilchard volunteered to put together a fly. She will form a committee that includes Winona Hocult, and others she would ask, to copy, address and help out in any way to promote the convention scheduled for Tuesday, evening October 27. Jim Fineran will put together a press release for the committee. He and Lena Wallop will work with PAC 14 for a segment on promoting the WNC and the convention as well if it works with the scheduling.
Topics of interest for the convention were again discussed. It was suggested that perhaps questions from the audience and response from the experts instead of a lecture type forum would be more interesting. Topics to be included would be crime, environment – what individuals can do, a tip sheet as a hand-out, perhaps contacting Margaret Vivian for rain barrel and rain garden information, organizing a neighborhood crime watch, organizing a neighborhood association and Assessment of Community Attributes i.e. – why people live where they live – the best part of where I live is and what are the good things that keep you in your neighborhood.
Lena Wallop said the West Side Community Foundation would be interested in the convention. Mayor Ireton said there is a new neighborhood group organizing on North Divisions Street beyond the cemetery.

V. MOVING FORWARD:
Cindy Pilchard may be asking several of the members to help her with the promotional preparations for the conference. Mayor Ireton is familiar with the contacts for the presentations. He may be coordinating this with Cindy Pilchard and her committee for help in this regard.

Biker Story
Looks the biggest, meanest, biker in the face and says:
'I went by your grandma's house today and
I saw her in the hallway buck naked.
Man, she is one fine looking woman!'
The biker looks at him and doesn't say a word.
His buddies are confused, because he is one bad biker and
Would fight at the drop of a hat.
The drunk leans on the table again and says:
'I got it on with your grandma and she is good,
The best I ever had!'
The biker's buddies are starting to get really mad,
But the biker still says nothing.
The drunk leans on the table one more time and says,
'I'll tell you something else, boy,
Your grandma liked it!'
At this point the biker stands up,
Takes the drunk by the shoulders,
Looks him square in the eyes and says....................
'Grandpa;....... Go home!
You're drunk.
'Clunker' Appliance Plan Still Short On Details
Program to roll out in November; rebates, recycling rules will vary by state
Call it the “Cash for Kitchen (and laundry room) Clunkers” program.
If you have an old energy-guzzling refrigerator, air conditioner or washing machine you’d love to replace, it may be a good idea to wait until November when a cash-for-clunkers type program for home appliances begins to roll out across the country.
The rebate program, part of the government's $787 billion economic stimulus package, provides $300 million in federal funds to encourage consumers to buy energy-efficient appliances.

Obama Plans Internet Grab FCC To Embrace Net Neutrality
Until, now the Internet has been largely self-regulated, and the FCC has taken a hands-off approach.
But that could change dramatically soon if the Obama administration has its way.
During the weekend, press reports revealed a stunning development: The Obama administration will announce Monday that the FCC would propose new rules to embrace what it calls "Net Neutrality."
Obama's new Federal Communications Commission chairman, Julius Genachowski, will use a speech to the Brookings Institution, a liberal think tank, to announce the FCC proposals, according to those reports.
On the face of it, Net Neutrality appears to be a popular and fair proposal.
Genachowski will "propose new rules that would prohibit Internet service providers from interfering with the free flow of information and certain applications over their networks," according to the Associated Press.
The FCC rules "would bar Internet service providers such as Verizon Communications Inc., Comcast Corp. or AT&T Inc., from slowing or blocking certain services or content flowing through their vast networks," according to the AP.
But critics contend that the proposals are nothing more than a backdoor way for the FCC to tighten federal control over the Internet by beginning with the regulation of Internet service providers.
The battle lines over Net Neutrality have formed along partisan and ideological lines, with some exceptions.
During the presidential campaign, Obama said he would embrace Net Neutrality — a cause championed by Google and other Silicon Valley companies that don't want large Internet service providers denying or controlling their access to Internet users.
But Republicans have largely opposed Net Neutrality, suggesting self regulation has worked well.
The previous FCC chairman, Bush appointee Kevin Martin opposed Net Neutrality. He suggested it was not needed.
Conservatives see Net Neutrality as a power grab that will benefit big Internet players such as Amazon and Google while stifling smaller competitors.
The libertarian CATO Institute, in a 2004 policy analysis concluded: "The regulatory regime envisioned by Net Neutrality mandates would also open the door to a great deal of potential 'gaming' of the regulatory system and allow firms to use the regulatory system to hobble competitors. Worse yet, it would encourage more FCC regulation of the Internet and broadband markets in general."
Democrats in Congress have pushed for such controls in the past without success. In 2006 House Democrats offered an amendment to make Net Neutrality law, but the motion failed.
At the time Republicans warned of efforts to control the Internet.
"I want a vibrant Internet just like they do," Rep. Lamar Smith, a Texas Republican, said during the 2006 House debate over the issue. "Our disagreement is about how to achieve that. They say let the government dictate it . . . I urge my colleagues to reject government regulation of the Internet."
Delaware Electric Cooperative "Peak Alert"
4 P.M. to 8 P.M., Today, September 24
Because of the hot weather over our region, between the hours of 4 P.M. and 8 P.M., today, we are asking you to delay the usage of all unnecessary lights and appliances during these hours as well as turning your thermostat up 3 degrees.
While the largest consumers of electricity in the home during these hours and during this time of year are cooling costs and lighting, other large consumers of electricity include major appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines, clothes dryers, water heaters and stoves.
By delaying the use of unnecessary lighting and appliances as well as turning your thermostat up 3 degrees between 4 P.M. and 8 P.M., today, we can save energy resources, avoid high cost energy and help the environment.
We thank you for your help. Together we can “Beat the Peak”
