Gay Public Officials

"In 1991, just 49 public officials in the United States said they were gay, said Chuck Wolfe, president and CEO of the Victory Fund, a Washington D.C.-based group that works to get such candidates elected. Now, more than 440 out-of-the-closet gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals hold public office, according to the group, which also names 17 openly gay elected officials in Illinois."

  6. I could care less what someone's sexual preference is as long as they do the job they're hired/elected to do. Sexual preference should not matter.

  9. I'd much rather vote for a gay man who respects the Constitution than a straight one who ignores it.

    Chances are the numbers are no different than years ago, anyway. Nowadays it doesn't matter like it used to.
