While I'm not sure if this is another Doctor, I'm told additional charges are forthcoming in Circuit Court. Law enforcement is certainly cracking down quite a bit on these guys lately.
let me tell you, brother that the hu...i mean terry bolea has no place for pill poppers and drug addicts. its unamerican so all of you lonely housewives who can make a salad out of all the little helpers you need to make it thru the day take heed. you're an addict too.
ReplyDeleteI'm willing to bet that these people who take oxycodone or oxycontin for kicks ever HAD to legitimately take them for pain, the pills would lose their allure pretty quickly. As someone who has had chronic pain (back, hip, shoulder) for years, I HATE taking the blasted stuff. The "thrill" is gone and has been for years. But, sometimes I need it. I'd hate to see the abusers make it harder for chronic pain patients like myself to get it.
ReplyDeleteHe's not a doctor, unless he's an anesthesiologist living in Connecticut, and this doesn't look like the guy.
ReplyDeleteGrannydragon has a point, lots of oxycodone (short duration narcotic pain reliever) and oxycontin (long duration narcotic pain reliever) abusers did/do have legitimate need for the drugs. It's a very, very addicting substance, and once the physical need for the drug (pain) is over, it's hard for many to wean off it. Most people who take it with a need (chronic pain) wish there were something else that they could take that doesn't have the side effects: fatigue, changes in mood, sleep disturbances, etc.
Then there are those who take the drugs just for the buzz, or to blot out some of the lesser sides of their lives. They can't all be painted with the same brush, though, because some of them have a need for medication, too, although it probably isn't a pain reliever like oxycontin/oxycodone.
Grannydragon's right. It is a shame that it's such a problem, and that the problem makes it more difficult for those who really have a legitimate need.
Wow, Looks like there are serious issues when it comes to Doctors--and pill poppers in Salisbury
