The "City Of Crisfield" Wins The Skipjack Race Today On Deal Island
Captain Art Daniels of the "City of Crisfield" Yacht won for the 8th year in a row and is 87 years old. More to come tomorrow.
How Salisbury News Could REALLY Hurt The Daily Times
I have been considering making a change to Salisbury News in which we would only deliver Breaking News Stories after 8:00 PM. The reason we would consider doing such a thing is to assure the Daily Times would be at least two days behind.
Right now they're following our news like there's no tomorrow because they have downsized big time and they're using our information to get their news. If I hold off this information until after 8:00 Pm, they can't stop the Presses and take our news. This would put them back two days, unless you get it on line.
What do YOU think we should do? I kind of like bringing you the news in Real Time but quite frankly I'm also getting tired of doing all their work. Your input will seal the deal.

Gordy's Getting There But They're Still Not Getting It
The photos don't lie Folks. The lines to get gas at Sam's Club are getting longer and longer while the other guys around Town have none.
Bill, you should click on the 4th photo and see who's pumping gas right there at Sam's Club. ROTFLMAO! Even the City of Salisbury Employees are getting it! Who knows Folks, maybe this series of pictures will get the Gordy's to give out special discount cards to City Employees?
Major Accident In Westover On Rt 13
Another Dead Body Found On Fitzwater Street?
I'm told there was a body discovered near the Bridge on Fitzwater St. this morning. I'm looking into the details and I'll get back to everyone on this, should it pan out to be accurate.
Palin’s Teen Daughter Is Pregnant

No doubt Obama's supporters will conveniently forget that his mother was 18 when he was born.
On a personal note, I don't care one single bit about this. I only post it to put the news out there.

OBAMA ADVISOR SHOWS TRUE COLOR OF HIS CAMPAIGN
A top Obama advisor, Don Fowler, has proclaimed that Hurricane Gustav is “God’s Favor to Democrats.” The following remark, made by Fowler, former Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, to Congressman Jack Spratt (yes that’s his real name) on an airplane flight from Denver to Charlotte, was overheard and caught on video by another passenger: “The times, at least as it appears now, is that it will be there on Monday. That just demonstrates that God’s on our side.”
This duplicates a comment by another Obama supporter, Michael Moore, that “this hurricane is proof that there is a god in heaven.” Obama has not repudiated the notion that despite the destruction and suffering that it will cause, the hurricane is a good thing because it helps his imploding campaign.

Sunday's Daily Times
"HEY YOU: Who's your next mayor?
August 31, 2008
The Mayoral election isn't until April 7, 2009 but a buzz has already started about who is going to run. Mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman has not officially stated she will resign, but it is rumored she is seeking a replacement."
Since when is it the Mayor's job to find a replacement? It just goes to show you the connection between the Daily Times and Barrie Tilghman.
UPDATE: Because of the attention from Salisbury News, the Daily Timess has now added this INACURATE news.
"According to community advocate Jim Ireton's website, he's seriously considering running. It has also been mentioned that council members Debbie Cambell and Gary Comegys could campaign. Born and bread Salisburian Ryan Ewalt, who recently returned to his hometown after college, thinks being a neutral representative of the people could make him a good candidate."
Ryan Ewalt claims he's NOT going to run for Mayor. He could be lying, I don't know. Debbie Campbell has absolutely NO INTEREST in running for Mayor. Jim Ireton and Debbie Campbell are simply too close to allow that to happen. Two out of three are some pretty screwed up odds Laura! Then again, we are talking about the Daily Times.

SSU EXPANSION - WAYNE STREET & BATEMAN AVENUE
"Joe:
I don't know exactly what's up, but an entire city block is chain linked fenced off where there were previously private sector buildings. All of the private sector commercial offices and retailers are closed, empty and chain-linked off. There is Whiting Turner Construction trailer on the North side of Bateman St. behind the old Salisbury Office Supply - kind of hidden. Which, incidentally, is yet another business that has been purchased by the Government - Wicomico County Elections Board.
About the only thing I do know is that I heard the college had entered into some Confidentiality Agreements with certain private sector individuals concerning procurement disclosures. On all of the Confidentiality Agreements I have read, it says that no party is allowed to divulge certain business details.
It looks as though the College may have purchased them all including Hagemeyer Electrical supplies.
Things are very quiet on Disclosure of this information because of all of the adverse publicity concerning - Socialization - the exodus of private sector businesses from the area including, Dresser, Purity Bacon, John Deere Landscapes, and the sale of the Allenwood Shopping Center which sold for more than $300,000 than the appraised value. At the very minimum though, we need an informed Society.
Maybe its time for SBYnews to enlighten our public once again."

'Alaskan Tag' with a Polar Bear
From Shishmaref, Alaska. Shishmaref is in the Nome region of Alaska; i.e., up north on the west coast.
A game of 'Alaskan Tag' that I guarantee you don't want to be it! If you ever feel like you're getting the run-a-round, just remember this guy. Get in the truck already! I'll have to admit, the 4th picture is my favorite! And this is not a very large bear.

I'm Voting Democrat
I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe three or four pointy headed elitist liberals need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that when the terrorists don't have to hide from us over there, when they come over here I don't want to have any guns in the house to fight them off with.
I'm voting Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my horse.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.
Makes ya wonder why anyone would EVER vote Republican, now doesn't it?
