BREAKING NEWS! Debbie Campbell Announces She's Running For A 2nd Term On City Council
Councilwoman Debbie Campbell made her announcement at 4:00 PM today at Smith Street & Maryland.
This should be VERY exciting news for the City of Salisbury Citizens as this is a woman who has tirelessly worked her heart out for the Citizens these past 4 years.
Debbie has created a brand new website that went up at 4:00 today HERE. Save it as one of your favorites.
Her announcement came in front of some 40 people, (Kratovil only had 50 at a publicized event at SU) who were all extremely excited about her decision. Her new Website lays out her mission and goals as Enough is Enough with Crime and Taxes.
It's time everyone come together with support and assure we make a solid difference retaining Debbie on the Council and quite frankly, removing Shanie Shields from her District and rid of the rubber stamping going on in the City.
The Mayoral Race will be just as important, riding of Mayor Tilghman and assuring Comegys has no chance at all. Nevertheless, this is about Debbie. Please show her your support.

BREAKING NEWS: FELDMAN'S HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN!
The Market Street Inn Wishes Everyone A Happy Holloween
Frank Kratovil Is A LIAR
A few nights ago, Frank Kratovil challenged Andy Harris during the Debate at Chesapeake College by asking Andy why he would run an ad in which he knew the quote, "WE SOLVED THE CRISIS" was untrue. Frank went on to say that the Daily Times Retracted their original QUOTE and this is a LIE.
I stood in front of ALL of the Kratovil people after the debate and told them Frank Kratovil lied. They all tried to say Frank is a good man, (and he might be) but the fact STILL remains, Frank Kratovil LIED.
The Daily Times printed the QUOTE, WE SOLVED THE CRISIS because that's what Frank said. So, to ALL of those Kratovil fans out there that would just LOVE to get back at me, INCLUDING FRANK KRATOVIL, here's my challenge. YOU show me ONE retraction printed in the Daily Times and I swear to you, I will POST it any time, any place. I am putting it on the record right here and now. There was NEVER a RETRACTION, Frank knows it and so does ALL of his followers.
Crybaby Kratovil can't stand the heat because he talks too much. I am calling the man a LIAR and YOU have every right and now opportunity to prove me wrong. The Daily Times printed what Frank Kratovil said about the Bailout, "WE SOLVED THE CRISIS" and I think ALL of you today can clearly see, we're in a deeper CRISIS today than we were before the Bailout.
OK Frank, my telephone number is 410-430-5349. My e-mail address is alberobutzo@wmconnect.com and my address is 300 W. Main Street in Downtown Salisbury. The ball is now in your court. SHOW ME THE MONEY!
I was man enough to face you after the Debate and challenge you face to face. Here's your chance to make me look like a fool. Guess what Frank, I'm no fool and you're a LIAR. Prove me wrong.
There, I just solved that crisis too, didn't I Frank. Vote Andy Harris for Congress. He won't lie to you like this States Attorney did.
I Want These For Christmas!!!!!!

Hello, and thank you for taking time to read my email.
It is my understanding that you have a Wicomico County Counsil Meeting this coming Tuesday, November 2, 2008. I will be unable to attend the meeting but I am requesting that this issue be put in the agenda so the citizens and electorate can be made aware of this situation.
A few days ago we learned that Richard Chapman, a paid employee at the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department, in Pittsville, Maryland, Wicomico County, was practicing medicine without a license. Richard Chapman was a certified Cardiac Rescue Technician, certified through the State of Maryland, he then claimed to have gone to further his education and stated he had officially became a Paramedic. He was then upgraded to Paramedic status in the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department and received a countless number of thousands of dollars on behalf of the taxpayers of Wicomico County. He was never a paramedic. He lied and deceived everyone. He was negligent by putting patients lives at risk, putting the department at risk for liable, and putting the county at risk.
The officials at the Pittsville VFD never checked and/or verified his certification.
This is illegal activity and all I'm told over and over and over again is there is an investigation pending by the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services Systems.
I am requesting that council bring to the floor the idea of suspending emergency medical services operations out of Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department. The 4 surrounding EMS departments are more than able to provide cover up assistance while Pittsville EMS is out of service pending an investigation. Parsonsburg, Willards, Powellville, and Gumboro are close enough that there will be no delay in service to the citizens of Pittsville.
There currently is a 24/7 Advanced Life Support (ALS) coverage between Parsonsburg and Pittsville. I suggest that Pittsville VFD forfeit their county funds to Parsonsburg EMS to continue the 24/7 ALS coverage.
When we call 911 to seek emergency medical care we expect the personnel providing such care to be educated and certified. We expect the agency they represent to make sure that happens. The officers of the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department did not make this happen, they have let us down and are now being investigated. I strongly recommend that they be shut down until an investigation is complete.
The county funds the emergency medical services and I feel the council would have such power to suspend their operation. If you are unable to lawfully suspend EMS operations out of Pittsville then I make a suggestion that you no longer fund their operation.
The Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department has proven themselves to be unwilling and unable to provide a safe and adequate EMS operation. For this they need to be investigated and the their operation needs to be suspended.
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my email, hopefully I will receive some replies.
Thank you.

Kratovil Leaves Important Questions Unanswered
Annapolis - Frank Kratovil continues to leave many questions unanswered. Chris Meekins, Harris Campaign Manager, released the following statement:
"Having his buddies come to his defense is no surprise, but it still doesn't change the fact that Kratovil has left many important questions unanswered. Why did he decline to prosecute a child sexual predator on 15 counts? Why did he take contributions from criminal defense attorneys who have cases before him in Queen Anne's County? At the very least this is a conflict of interest, at the very worst it is justice for sale."
Kratovil should answer questions on the following campaign contributions and cases:
In March of 2007, Frank Kratovil declined to prosecute Robert Wayne Dwyer on 15 of 17 counts relating to child sexual offenses. Faced with the possibility of a lifetime in jail, Dwyer is now free in the community. (Source: Case No. 0M00014525)
In October 2007, Lawyer Richard M. Karceski became the official representation of Donna Ann Jones who was charged with 14 counts of burglary. Richard Karceski donated to Kratovil's campaign on 12/4/2007. In February 2008, the Queen Anne's County State's Attorneys office dropped 12 of the counts against Donna Ann Jones resulting in her getting a slap on the wrist. Since that time, Richard Karceski has donated again to the Kratovil campaign and Donna Ann Jones has violated her parole. (Source: Case No. 17K07006775, Karceski donation on 12/4/2008 - Federal Election Commission)

Trial Lawyer: Louis Martucci

Breaking News! West Side Collector Road Scandal?
Just when the County thought they had things under control, sh!t hit the fan again recently and some serious issues are once again at hand for the County Executive.
During the Landfill exposure I had continued to contact the County Executive's Office asking what was to become of the Press Conference on the West Side Collector Road. The response I would regularly get is, oh yeah, we need to do something about that. Well, that was several months ago and as I drive past it every single day, there's been NO PROGRESS and no Press Conference.
Being curious I did some more digging and with the help of some friends I was able to finally get the answer as to why things ave come to a complete halt. While the information I am about to provide is not a criminal issue as the moment, it could become one down the road and or your County Executive has some serious questions to answer under his watch.
While this Collector Road was being developed they came across an area in which they learned there was trash/debris underneath their path. There was much discussion as to whether or not they should relocate the path or remove the debris. I should say, this is what was told to me. I say that because ultimately while some are questioning how this all came about, it's important to recognize that there WAS some discussion about if they should relocate the road or not.
Now, that being said, SOMEONE made the decision to make a change order for somewhere between $600,000.00 to $700,000.00 to REMOVE the debris and relocate it. The County Executive's Office claims they knew nothing about it, yet there was discussion about relocating the road? The County Council says they know nothing about it. YET IT WAS DONE!
I do NOT believe that Mr. John Readen had the authority to simply go ahead and make a possible $700,000.00 change order and at this point and time, NO ONE knows who authorized such a change order!
So once again the Taxpayers have been uninformed and perhaps even screwed. Its my understanding that Mr. Rick Pollitt is extremely upset over this matter but he has been holding this information for almost two weeks now in the hopes of getting to the bottom of the problem at hand.
The taxpayers deserve answers as to what is going on and when we can expect to see this project move forward and closure.

Once again the MSM will be all over this any minute now and people are coming to learn that Salisbury News is not only THE PLACE to ring your information, we'll get it out there before anyone else. Heck, at least you know when you get it to us we'll publish it, unlike the Daily Slime.
Mr. Pollitt's Office says they're not over budget but they're not done with the project, for starters and in time I hope we can all get to the bottom of this. This is yesterday's breaking news story.
UPDATE: This just in from Mr. Pollitt's Office.........

Toys For The Holidays
"Ever since my kids were little I have, every October or November, cleaned out their toy closet of all the little used toys and games. I then pack them up and take them to the Salvation Army.
For me this accomplishes a couple of things:
1. I feel good that parents, who might not have a lot of money, will be able to purchase toys for their children for Christmas and
2. my house gets a little cleaner before the onslaught of new items the holidays will bring.
So, a couple of weeks ago I did my cleaning and packed everything up and went to the Salvation Army. The gentleman checking in the items saw that I had toys and said that they were no longer accepting them. It seems that in our government’s wisdom to protect our children from the dangers of lead poisoning they have put the Salvation Army and others like them at a disadvantage. The gentleman I spoke with said that they now have a big book of toy listings and that they must go thru that book for every toy they receive to make sure that there is no lead danger. It was taking them so long to do this that they made the decision to stop accepting toy donations at all! I went home and told my husband about it and he then called Goodwill and they have done the same thing.
This has been haunting me for the last couple of weeks and I don’t know what to do about. I feel sick that many children won’t have the opportunity to receive toys this year because of this new rule.
I’d like to hear from your readers about other options of where to take toy donations or perhaps we (your readers) can begin some type of toy drive?
I hope you will post this.
Sincerely,
Michelle Wainwright"

Whine Fest at Kamp Kratovil
Tough times tend to show the stuff a man is made of. For Democrat congressional candidate Frank Kratovil, a lack of character becomes more and more apparent as Election Day becomes a stone's throw away.
Electoral politics is a rough and tumble business. Some of us may not like it, but that's simply the way it is. There is also a purpose to the seeming melee of campaign season. How does candidate X react to pressure? How does candidate Y face a series of blistering attacks?
Whether you agree with him or not, Maryland Sen. Andy Harris takes a licking and keeps on ticking. He's straight about where he stands on issues. He doesn't waffle.
As Harris stated at their last debate just a few days ago, "I'm a right of center guy, I'm a conservative guy". Harris has stood firm in his support of lower taxes and a pro-economic growth policies.
Kratovil claims to be "independent". Yet, mail is going out to households (those self-identified as liberal or "progressive") throughout the First District asking recipients to:

Governors of Six States Asking Fed to Bail Out Auto Industry
This has been brewing for a while, but now there are 6 different governors from 6 different states on board with this idea.
Chrysler and GM are the companies that are up for this bailout.
Supposedly the plan it to merge the two corporations to cut losses, but I bet my bottom dollar that Chrysler will be making the cars and GM is going to become a bank.
Just watch!

It was shocking and disturbing to learn at a Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control public hearing that 26 years after Delmarva Power and Light ceased dumping coal ash from the Indian River Power Plant onto Burton Island, 26 of 26 offshore sediment samples were discovered to contain seven heavy metal pollutants identified as "Constituents of Potential Concern for either human or ecological receptors."
These metals include aluminum, arsenic, barium, cobalt, copper, mercury and nickel. Delaware Toxic Release Inventory Reports identify compounds of arsenic, cobalt and nickel as carcinogens.
An ecological risk assessment published by Shaw Environmental Inc. in March 2008 states, "There is a potential for adverse affects to benthic invertebrates in the sediment along the shoreline of Burton Island due to arsenic and barium. The only potentially exposed population is recreational fishermen and their families ... through the consumption of caught fish and/or shellfish."
A DNREC environmental scientist was asked at a Center for the Inland Bays meeting in September if he would eat clams taken from the Burton Island area. He said, "no."
Environmental groups including the Sierra Club, Delaware Audubon, Green Delaware, Citizens for Clean Power, Citizens Coalition, Citizens for a Better Sussex and the Citizens Advisory Committee of the CIB have opposed the recent issuance of the new NRG Energy (Phase II) landfill permit, and the inadequate voluntary NRG remediation action plan for Burton Island, which consists of leaving the contaminated offshore sediment in place and adding riprap along the shoreline.
Although the riprap may help to inhibit future erosion of shoreline embankments, the geo-textile synthetic fabric underlay base is permeable and therefore will not prevent continued long-term leaching of the landfill's numerous toxic pollutants into bay waters.
DNREC Secretary John Hughes has said some of the NRG coal-ash landfill concerns are unfounded and that some of the criticisms are based on misinformation.
Why doesn't DNREC require NRG to haul ash from Burton Island out of the Inland Bays' watershed and deny a permit for the creation of yet another coal-ash landfill? Could political pressure and NRG profits possibly be factors in these decisions? Surely the same railroad hoppers that deliver 64 carloads of coal per day could be used to haul away the annual production of approximately 100,000 cubic yards of hazardous ash that contains 770,000 pounds of toxic heavy metal pollutants.
Until cleaner energy sources enable shut down of the coal-burning Indian River Power Plant -- the state's largest polluter -- DNREC must do more to eliminate and clean-up its continuous discharges of thousands of pounds of harmful chemicals to our air, water and land.

At one time in my life I was a determined, dedicated and ever loyal registered Democrat. Then something happened (Lyndon Baines Johnson) that turned my life around and gave me much pause as to the veracity of a party that dwelt on and fed off of the most unfortunate among us. Some of those unfortunates were in their positions in life by way of their own choosing and others were there by circumstance. But always, always with a door open to them to reach for new heights, achieve new goals, change their lives for the better. And also, always ever present were the bottom feeders doing everything they could to take advantage of those who had not or have not seen the light of better days and times nor realizing they were in fact the masters of their own destiny. They had come to believe that they were dependent on those in power in Washington and that they would look out for them and take care of their every need. They are still waiting and expecting all those promised freebies.
Most people aren't even aware that the Democrats ruled Washington for over 40 years. It wasn't until 1994 when the so called Gingrich Revolution changed that for a short period of time. Nor do people realize that it was the Dem's that created the failed policies of the many entitlement programs that are falling apart right before our eyes. Please do not think I find the Republicans blameless in all this. They too, suffer from ego inflation and greed motivators built into the system. It's just that the past few months I've listened to the rantings and railings of the left in America calling for more giveaways and better ways to obtain the proverbial 'free lunch'.
I think that to sum up my feelings and why I am so set apart from those within the circles of political power and influence can be illustrated best by a quote by noted basketball legend and talk show co-host Charles Barkley:
'Poor people have been voting for Democrats for the last fifty years....and they are still poor'.
And now with the election results comes the promises of 'change'. 'Change we can believe in.' 'Change for the future'. When in fact if you really, I mean REALLY listen to what the new messiah is asking for is not 'change of policy' or 'change for the better'. He is warning all of us that he wants our change all right, 'loose change', pocket change', social change and political change......So
people wake up. For if you don't the change you get may not be the change you were expecting or the change you wanted.
To close my screed, I want to leave you with some JM predictions in the event the junior Senator from Illinois becomes President and especially if the House and Senate are veto proof.
1). Strict new gun laws will be enacted even though he promised he would not.
2). The phrase 'In God We Trust' will be removed from all currency.
3). He will back away from his pledge to Israel and leave them to the wolves of Islam.
4). Hillary Clinton will be named to the Supreme Court.
5). Tax rates will return to their highest levels in
30 years.
6). The capital gains tax will be at least double current levels.
7). Retired Army General Wesley Clark will be named Secretary of Defense.
8). The borders will be 'basically open' to all comers. Especially those from the Middle East and South America ..
9). Amnesty will be granted to all illegals now in the U.S regardless of status or even gang members (MS-13). and
10). The war in Iraq will be brought to an abrupt end and the results will be tragic and the consequences to our military will be devastating.
I realize that my predictions may not sit too well with some people and the best we could all hope for is that I am totally wrong. Any bets?

Breaking News, Major Drug Bust
On October 28, 2008, members of the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force "WCNTF" in conjunction with other local la enforcement agencies initiated a buy/bust operation in the Salisbury area. Members of WINTF received information that two suspects identified as John Kennedy and Violitus Scott were knows to sell large quantities of Heroin throughout the Wicomico County area. Based on this information, contact was made with John Kennedy to meet at a mutual location and exchange an amount of U.S. currency for Heroin. Law enforcement set up surveillance in the parking lot at the Centre at Salisbury. Once at that location, officers observed Kennedy, Scott and a third individual, who was identified as Maurice Fiddmon, arrive in two separate vehicles. The three suspects were then monitored as they provided an undercover officer with suspected Heroin in exchange for marked U.S. currency. The three subjects were subsequently followed out of the parking lot at which point two traffic stops occurred. The first vehicle was stopped on the S/B ramp at Rt. 50 and Rt. 13 Bypass. Both Maurice Fiddiemon and Violitus Scott were located within that vehicle. During a search of each subject, officers recovered marked U.S. currency that had been provided during the transaction with the undercover officer. The second stop occurred on thye Rt. 13 Bypass at the Rt. 50 exit. The vehicle was being operated by John Kennedy. A search of Kennedy recovered a suspect amount of Heroin and $3,973.00 in U.S. currency. A subsequent consent search was conducted at Scott's home which resulted in $35,030.00 being seized.
Property Estimate Value
Heroin 26.2 grams
20.5 grams - recovered during transaction with the plain clothes officer
5.7 grams seized from John Kennedy
U.S. Currency $39,003.00
The Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force is comprised of members from the Maryland State Police, Wiucomico County Sheriff's Department and the Salisbury Police Department and was instituted to deter the growing drug problem in Wicomico County, Maryland. During execution of these warrants, the Wicomico County Narcotics Task Force was assisted by the Somerset County Narcotics Task Force, Wicomico County Bureau of Investigations, WCBI-NS and the Salisbury City Police Department.

Less News, MO MONEY!
Bend over Folks because this Sunday the Daily Times will have a price increase on their News Stand Papers. The only good thing I can say about it is the Daily Times is going GREEN by using LESS PAPER.
Certainly the paper will look bigger because of the Sale Inserts going inside for the upcoming Holidays but if you're in it for the news, you're screwed. We'll have to see what they raise their prices to on Sunday.

Kratovil's Liberal Problem
Dropping charges against defendants represented by campaign donors
Annapolis, MD-An in depth review of Frank Kratovil's record as State's Attorney unveils a recurring and disturbing trend: Frank Kratovil's Congressional Campaign accepted thousands of dollars in donations from trial lawyers while he was prosecuting their criminal clientèle.
This revelation comes in addition to dropping 15 of 17 counts against Robert Wayne Dwyer for child sex offenses and 12 of 14 burglary charges against Donna Ann Jones.
Campaign Manager Chris Meekins added: "Kratovil's solicitation of criminal defense attorneys with cases he is prosecuting is disgraceful. And for Frank Kratovil to drop or reduce charges and then take thousands in campaign money from the lawyer he cut a deal with raises serious questions about his integrity. Mr Kratovil owes the voters an explanation."
In total, trial lawyers-representing drug dealers, sex offenders, burglars and other criminals--have given over $200,000 to Frank Kratovil for Congress.
Below are examples of Kratovil taking donations from lawyers who have cases in Queen Anne's County:
Trial Lawyer: Peter O'Neill, Esq.
Donations to Kratovil for Congress: 7/19/07-$500, 1/5/08-$1,000, 1/5/08-$1,000 (Wife, Wendy O'Neill), 3/27/08-$250, hosted a house part in the spring of 2008 that raised over $10,000 (Federal Election Government).
Rap Sheet: -Represented Lisa Birchfield on 9/15/08 (Case #5M16245) and all felony drug charges dropped. *Currently represents Justin Clifford Lee in a possession of drugs with intent to distribute.
Trial Lawyer: Jane Canter
Donations to Kratovil for Congress: 8/1/07-$750, 10/27/07-$750, 3/24/08-$500 (FEC.GOV).
Rap Sheet: -Represented Eric Snyder (Case #17K07006791) who pled guilty to one count of distribution of a controlled substance, but four separate drug charges were dropped.
Trial Lawyer: Joel Katz
Donations to Kratovil for Congress: 3/25/08-$250, *Frequent contributor to Frank Kratovil for State's Attorney races. (Federal Election Commission)
Rap Sheet: -Represented Ted Frederick (Case #17K08006846) who pled guilty to one count of theft greater than $500 and 14 additional charges were dropped.
Trial Lawyer: Louis Martucci
Donations to Kratovil for Congress: 9/13/07-$500 (Federal Election Commission)
Rap Sheet: -Represented Rico Hawkins (Case #17K0700697) who pled guilty to one count of intent to distribute and Kratovil dropped a felony gun charge was dropped.
"Paramedic" Richard Chapman?????????
"Richard Chapman was providing emergency medical care to the citizens on eastern Wicomico County in a Paramedic capacity. It turns out that he was not a paramedic. For that the department said he was "punished" and hung up on me.
So, I contacted the Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office, I am awaiting a phone call from Mr. Ruark and the representative I spoke with on the phone promised an investigation. I then called the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems who is charge of certifications for Maryland emergency medical providers. The woman I spoke with on the phone, Michelle stated that Richard Chapman is not an advanced life support provider. And they are also promising an investigation.
The problem I have with this whole ordeal is for the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department. They have failed to comply with the standards set forth by MIEMSS. They failed their checks and balances, how did they, for so long, allow this man to pose and receive a paycheck as a Professional (Paid) Paramedic of the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department. This is illegal. Chapman was sticking IVs, caring for our children, sticking tubes down people's throats, and was responsible for patients care. He answered calls in Pittsville, Parsonsburg, Willards, Powellville, Gumboro, and even had answered calls in the City of Salisbury.
Lord only knows by his negligence what he may or may not have done in the back of an ambulance that could have compromised the health and well-being of so many people by not following proper protocols. This man should be punished by the State of Maryland.
It is my personal belief that Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department should suspend their Emergency Medical Services Operation until a proper investigation by MIEMSS and the States Attorney and/or any other county agency is completed. The appointed and elected officials of the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department have let us down, the have compromised the safety of many people in this area by not making sure their providers are vetted and actually certified.
When we call 911 we expect the emergency personnel to be adequately trained and certified. We expect the agency they represent to make sure that happens. In this case that did NOT happen. My family still resides in Pittsville and I have given them the number to Wicomico County Department of Emergency Services so they can ask them to not allow Pittsville EMS to respond when there is a medical crisis. I'm informed that the dispatch center will continue to dispatch Pittsville EMS to the scene but at the callers request will send the 2nd closest fire department to actually transport the patient.
Chapman was on the payroll of Town of Pittsville and the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department and received thousands of dollars as an employee. He was not certified and that money he received is STOLEN money from the taxpayers and people who donate. That money should be given back. He needs to be prosecuted.
A regular citizen of this county would not be allowed to pose as a police officer, write tickets, and receive compensation for his time and not face any sort of prosecution. And I surely hope that this is not swept under the rug anymore.
I will continue to place phone calls until this matter is resolved. But I'm requesting the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department suspend all EMS operations until an investigation in complete. As of right now they are incompetent and unable to fulfill the needs of this community.
Also, Richard Chapman is still listed on the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department's website as the 2nd Assistant Chief of the Department and still listed as a full-time paid paramedic. (www.pittsvillefire.com)
Here is a few phone numbers, if you are questioning if Richard Chapman was the provider on an emergency call that concerned you please call the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems at (410) 706-3666 then if he was call the States Attorney and your own attorney. If you would like to have the 2nd closest fire department dispatched to your house in case of medical needs arise call the Wicomico County Department of Emergency Services at (410) 548-4920.
Joe, I sincerely thank you for taking time out of your day to read this and hopefully post this so you can make the community aware."
UPDATE: I am told charges are pending from the States Attorneys Office.

Our Local Main Stream Media Can't Keep Up
While Salisbury News continues to bring breaking news stories and information to everyone on the Eastern Shore, our local MSM finds themselves calling the people or businesses in my stories. The Pittsvile Fire Department has been fielding phone calls and has even had television vans sitting outside their building in the hopes of catching up with our Paramedic story.
All too often we get calls from the people involved in our stories and WBOC, WMDT ad the Daily Slime just called because they saw the Salisbury News article and wanted to get information for their business.
I can assure you, PRMC has their phone ringing OFF THE HOOK this morning but as you're seeing in comments from Doctors, the story is true and real. I have another MAJOR, (and I do mean MAJOR) breaking story coming later this morning. If you thought the Landfill case was big, well folks, I've got another one coming. I just need the time to write it.
I have been so busy fielding phone calls this morning and taking care of animals, I just haven't had time yet and I haven't even left the house to go Downtown. Give me just a little while and I'll get the story up. It's another big day at Salisbury News. Have to cancelled your subscription to the Daily Times yet? If you're a Republican, do your duty. They don't want YOUR business anyway.

Queen Anne's Democrats - With Help of Media - Run False Ad
Just the other night, at the last debate of this congressional election, Queen Anne's County States Attorney Frank Kratovil closed his remarks by calling an ad for Andy Harris "a lie". Fair enough, even liberals like Frank have a right to their opinion. Yet, Kratovil's OWN Democrat Central Committee has run an ad that is not only misleading, they lie about who paid for the ad.
The Kent Island Bay Times published an ad yesterday, claiming to be published by "Republicans for Obama, Eastern Shore". The ad states that it was paid for by:
Any normal reader would infer that this ad was paid for by the Queen Anne's County REPUBLICAN Central Committee. It clearly says that this ad is from REPUBLICANS for Obama. They would be wrong. Nancy Hagman is the Treasurer of the QA County DEMOCRAT Central Committee.
Who would know? Do you know who the Treasurer of your county central committee is? Only political junkies know who the members of their local central committees are. The rest of us are more concerned about our jobs, mortgages and how to pay for the kids' college.
Chesapeake Publishing owns the Kent Island Bay Times. When the error was pointed out to them, they refused to run a letter from the QA County Republican Central Committee explaining the error.
Should we believe that this was just "an innocent mistake"? Not when the publisher refuses to print a response by the injured party.
It is unfortunate when the media conspires with their leftist friends to decieve the public they claim to serve. Should we be surprised? I wonder if Frank Kratovil will call this a lie as well.

If You Support Andy Harris, Cancel Your Daily Times Subscription TODAY
Ladies & Gentlemen:
I just got off the phone with the Daily Slime formally canceling my own personal subscription to the Daily Times. We were going to wait until November 4th to do so but after today's Op Ed piece, I'm DONE!
I strongly recommend to ALL of you that you cancel your own subscription TODAY and we will do our very best to deliver you the best and most accurate information on the Eastern Shore. Its not like you don't read Salisbury News 2, 3 or even 4 days later in the paper but they have gone too far with their one sided yellow journalism that we PAY for.
Game On Greg Bassett. The people of the Eastern Shore will prove to you that they chose Salisbury News over the Daily Slime. You may look strong in the beginning but we will continue to take that Newspaper down. Advertising will be coming very soon and we will financially destroy the Daily Slime.

Political Question
"Maryland currently has a Black Lieutenant Governor and the U.S. is facing the fact that we may have the first Black (albeit 1/2) President or woman Vice-President. So, how can Maryland still offer minority contracts which guarantee a percentage of work to minorities, either of color or gender (women) in the State of Maryland? If a black man can rise unfettered to the highest office in the country or a woman can rise to second-highest, why do we still need these government grants?
To clarify my question: my husband and I (both white) own a small dump-trucking company. We have friends that are black who are guaranteed jobs through this program. Honestly, on the Eastern Shore, white-owned hauling companies are not the majority. So realistically, should we, as the white "minority" be able to sign up for these contracts that we have been denied?"

She said 'Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!'
To which I said, of course it is loaded, can't work without bullets!'

My reply was, 'No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are loaded too.'

Mayoral Candidate Mike Della Penna Writes A Letter To The Editor, ME!
"Joe, lets see if you have the balls to publish this. It seems to me that you have the gall to write about someone with out even knowing anything about them. What have you done for Salisbury, or Wicomico Co. for that matter? How can you call yourself unbiased this is a joke in itself. As fr as me not being a viable candidate to run for the mayor of Salisbury, tell me how qualified are you? I do not need to go to the meetings to know what this city needs it needs a new government core from the mayor on down except for Debbi Campbell. At least I want to see and make changes for the betterment of Salisbury not just6 government as usual. I do work for a living and no it is not as a pizza dilevery man and so what if it was at least it is an honest and good clean job. But if you wish to speak with me directly you can contact me at Sherwood of Salisbury 410-749-1301 ex 1214. or 410-845-1934. I am available to anyone to answer any questions anytime. My web site is MikeforMayor.net.
I have tried to publish this with my user name and password but it wont let me so I have to do it anonymous."
Dear Mike:
Well, your campaign should be short lived at this point. ONE of the things a Mayor needs to have is a back bone. We already have a Mayor in Office who can't handle the heat from outsiders, thanks for proving how you'll respond under even minimal pressure.
You DO have to attend meetings to learn just who you'd be working with and get to know how the system works. You know, kinda like having to read maps to know exactly where to deliver your next slice of Pizza.
There's this thing called spell check. I know it might be difficult for you to obtain but every computer I've ever seen has it. You should try it some time, it works well. I shouldn't speak too much because I make my fair share of mistakes but then again, I'm not running for Mayor of a City I know nothing about, like you.
Using "feel good" statements is an easy thing Mikey. You know, like, "make changes for the betterment of Salisbury not just6 government as usual." Well, you got my vote. NOT!
As for what I've done for Salisbury or Wicomico County. Well Mikey, first of all, I own 15 properties in Wicomico County & Salisbury. You see Mikey, I pay taxes in both the County and City. Not rent, like you. I also run a FREE Blog 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. You see Mikey, I attend meetings both in the City and in the County and like it or not I am respected by many thousands of people within. Oh sure, I've made my fair share of enemies but let me assure you, there's a thousand to one friends verses enemies.
You should be far more careful in the future as to who you choose to screw with because I can say this very boldly, you just lost any shot of getting even close to having a shot at being Mayor.
As for my having balls. Well Mikey, you haven't followed my Blog for very long because I am told I have a set bigger than the size of Texas. Just ask Mayor Tilghman, Chiefy Webster, Deputy Chiefy Gordy and Chiefy See and their lawyers.
You have a nice day there Mikey. Game Over!

Frank Kratovil - A Tough Prosectuor Who Takes Money From Defense Attorneys?
Frank Kratovil has based his campaign on two tag lines:
How tough a prosecutor is he?
He's certainly not very tough on child molesters. Robert Wayne Dwyer was charged with 17 counts of child sexual offenses. Kratovil declined to prosecute 15 of those counts (Case No. 17K07006775) and Dwyer is now free and able to troll for more victims.
How about burglars?
Donna Ann Jones was charged with 14 counts of burglary (Case No. 0M00014525). Jones' lawyer, Richard M. Karceski donated to Kratovil's campaign in December, 2007. In February, 2008 Kratovil dropped 12 of those counts and Jones received a slap on the wrist. Since then, Karceski donated again to Kratovil's campaign ... and Jones has violated her parole.
Kratovil has taken over $100,000 from criminal defense attorneys. Many of these attorneys have cases against Kratovil's office in Queen Anne's County.
When Kratovil was asked asked about his prosecutorial record at a recent debate, Kratovil's supporters simply shouted down Maryland Sen. Andy Harris and Kratovil dodged the question.
Yes Frank. That's what elections are about; the opportunity to ask questions of candidates and expect answers.
Are you going to answer the question Frank? The voters of Maryland's First District deserve an answer.
We want to thank "ShoreIndie" for kindly posting this video on YouTube. While he, like his pal Frank Kratovil, may want to sweep this under the rug by claiming that it's "baseless", the record speaks for itself.

First Congressional Candidate Forum
"Joe,
I was at the First Congressional Candidate Forum held at Wye Mills yesterday and I just wanted to share a few observations with you and your readers.
This was a well run forum and the questions were fair. I applaud the League of Women Voters for a "Job Well Done."
On the economy:
Andy Harris believes that lower taxes and limiting government spending is the best way to stimulate small, medium and large business and create jobs.
Frank Krarovil thinks that government regulation is the answer.
Bailout:
Frank supports the bailout and thinks that even though it didn't work, he would support a second bailout.
Andy was against the first bailout and does not support another bailout attempt by the government. Andy feels that government is often times the cause of the problem, not the solution.
Environment:
Frank supports costly state laws that hurt our local economy and drive business to neighboring states.
Andy supports a regional approach to include all states that border the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
2nd Amendment:
Andy is endorsed by the NRA
Frank is not.
The choice is clear. If you want a tax and spend liberal vote for Frank Kratovil.
If you want smaller government and no new taxes vote for the conservative Andy Harris.
Thanks,
Nick"
