There are a lot of rumors going around about more businesses closing, many are not true. The word was out last night that the Health Department had a task force out inspecting several businesses. Is it the goal of the state to simply shut everyone down? If it is, let's just get it over with because this is getting ridiculous.

There are a few OC Facebook sites spreading a lot of false information out there. Caribbean Joe's is open. We have frozen drinks at the pool bar and yes, the pool is open at noon today.

UPDATE: I learned late Saturday night, 7-17-20 that Ocean City will be closing all the bars on Wicomico Street starting today, (Sunday) through Thursday to disinfect.

28th St. Pit-n-Pub Closes Their Doors

Better Safe then Sorry!

...a pre-cautionary measure taken by our owners to make sure we get ahead of this thing. We are having our staff tested for Covid-19 & will return when results are in!!

With no positive tests amungst our current staff, the Health Department has not mandated this closure, though we are in-contact with them to make sure we take these steps properly ...to ensure the safety of our staff and patrons.

See you on the other side, all!

Publishers Notes: Unless my staff has symptoms we will not be forced and or subjected into pressuring our staff to do something so unconstitutional.

The Health Department is NOT requesting bars/restaurants have their staff tested. I was clearly told they would only come to our establishment if they knew for a fact we were violating the CDC guidelines. It seems that has all changed with this new task force randomly inspecting OC bars/restaurants.

This is getting so ridiculous, (including Hogan's announcement today) that the MEDIA, Health Department and Governor are scaring the crap out of the general public LIKE EVERYONE IS GOING TO DIE if they get the virus. We are watching business slow down week after week and I have confirmed this with several other local businesses.

The talk about most, (if not ALL) people getting tested have NO SYMPTOMS, yet are testing positive. Here's what I have to say about that, BS! I DO NOT TRUST Governor Hogan nor our Federal Government giving BONUSES up to $37,000.00 to every hospital showing positive results. For crying out loud, it's no worse then the flu. Being FORCED to wear masks and be PUPPETS to our government is a joke. If our government truly gave a sh!t about our health they'd DEMAND ALL Cigarette and Cigar sales come to an immediate end. STOP BEING SO STUPID AMERICA!

Has anyone noticed that at north Wal-Mart the self checkout counters have no change and you are forced to use a credit card? At the north Wa Wa there is a note on the counter that says if you give them 10.00 dollars in change for cash they will give you a free Shortie sub. I called a local bank and they informed me that there is a national shortage in change caused by the Federal government pulling in all the change supposedly to re-issue new coins. The amount they were allowed to get from the Federal Reserve in Baltimore was nowhere near enough to supply our local stores with the amount of change they required for business. Has anyone else run into this and have they any other information they could add to this issue?

MD teacher unions call for virtual-only learning in the fall

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) - While Maryland's new infection rate remains lower than that of most other states, we still don't know if kids will go back to school this fall - or will the state move to online learning?

But this afternoon, two unions representing teachers and other employees are calling for one, uniform policy for reopening schools.

Political reporter John Rydell says the unions are urging all schools to be virtual-only, at least for the first semester.

Maryland governor 'eyeing a 2024 run for the White Houses' warns the GOP needs to be a 'bigger tent party' after Trump leaves office

A Republican governor rumored to be eyeing a run for the White House in 2024 has said the GOP needs to be a 'bigger tent party' after President Trump has left office.

Maryland's Larry Hogan, who has been known to break with Trump, told NBC's 'Meet the Press' that he doesn't 'know what the future holds in November.'

Hogan said: 'I know that the Republican Party is going to be looking at what happens after President Trump and whether that´s in four months or four years.

'And I think they´re going to be looking to, "How do we go about becoming a bigger tent party?"'

Navajo Nation suggests new name for Washington Redskins that 'honors and respects the First Americans'

The NFL franchise has not yet decided on its new nickname

The Washington Redskins announced Monday that they would be retiring their team nickname and logo, but had not yet decided on their new moniker. In short order, the Navajo Nation offered a new name they believe would be a fitting replacement for the NFL franchise.

What are the details?

The Redskins issued a statement saying:
On July 3rd, we announced the commencement of a thorough review of the team's name. That review has begun in earnest. As part of this process, we want to keep our sponsors, fans and community apprised of our thinking as we go forward.

Today, we are announcing we will be retiring the Redskins name and logo upon completion of this review.

Dan Snyder and Coach Rivera are working closely to develop a new name and design approach that will enhance the standing or our proud, tradition rich franchise and inspire our sponsors, fans and community for the next 100 years.

Two hours later, Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez released a statement celebrating the Washington, D.C., area team's move, while noting that the franchise made its decision due to "mounting pressure and advocacy of Indigenous peoples...and many other warriors who fought long and hard for this change."

The Navajo Nation went on to condemn the use of the "redskins" name used by the team since 1933 before adding:
We strongly encourage the NFL Washington organization to rename their team in such a way that truly honors and respects the First Americans of this country. Renaming the team 'Code Talkers' to honor the Navajo Code Talkers, and other tribal nations who used their sacred language to help win World War II, would set the team on a path to restoring its reputation and correcting the historical misrepresentation of Indigenous peoples.

Donald Trump hurled insults at South Korea's 'terrible people' in front of my South Korean-born wife, Republican governor Larry Hogan reveals - and boasted about getting along with Kim Jong Un

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan revealed in a scathing Washington Post op-ed aboutPresident Trump not helping governors secure COVID-19 testing kits that the president had hurled insults at the South Koreans in front of his South Korean-born wife.

Hogan, a Republican, wrote that at a private dinner in early February sponsored by the Republicans Governors Association, Trump said he didn't like dealing with President Jae-in Moon of South Korea and added that South Koreans were 'terrible people.'

Trump also talked about how much he 'respected President Xi Jinping of China; how much he liked playing golf with his buddy "Shinzo," Prime Minister of Japan; how well he got along with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un,' Hogan wrote.

Hillary Clinton says the United States must 'be ready' for the possibility that Donald Trump will not 'go quietly' from the White House if he loses in November and may blame mail-in votes

Hillary Clinton has said the United States needs to 'be ready' for the possibility thatDonald Trump will refuse to leave the White House if he loses in November's election.

Speaking to Trevor Noah on Monday night's episode of The Daily Show, Clinton said she could not rule out voter suppression and foreign interference in this year's vote.

Noah asked whether he may attempt, if he loses, to claim that the election was illegitimate and blame mail-in voting.

A Viewer Writes: Is Salisbury the new Baltimore

As I drove through Salisbury the other day and saw the city so torn up and looking dirty, I wondered if Salisbury was becoming a small Baltimore. We have a very progressive administration. Black and Hispanics residents have no voice in government. The city has the vibe of a city in decline. Sad. My wife and I are looking elsewhere.
