Harris Applauds Research Grant to Salisbury University

WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of a $360,624 federal research grant to Salisbury University from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Engineering. According to HHS, Academic Research Enhancement Awards support biomedical research projects conducted by faculty in academic institutions that have not been major recipients of National Institutes of Health (NIH) research awards. These grants are intended to create a research opportunity for scientists and institutions otherwise unlikely to participate extensively in NIH programs to support the Nation’s biomedical research effort. Specifically, Salisbury University faculty will utilize the award for designing intelligent iron-based MRI contrast agents.

Congressman Harris made the following statement:

“As a physician and member of the House Appropriations Committee, I am pleased to announce the award of this grant to Salisbury University. These federal dollars will go a long way in front line research that will lead to better, more efficient outcomes in medical imaging, and I am proud to support NIH funding that supports grants like this.”

  3. So now that SU hired a “diversity” official because they assumed a Caucasian wrote the racist graffiti and a black has admitted to the crime, will they keep the official?

  7. Oh, they’ll keep her for sure. They need someone to spin the bullsh*t. They will double down on the myth of white racism being the source of all badness. One thing these scumbags will never say is, “I was wrong.”

  8. 12:55 - Absolutely correct. They can pay her 200K while other employees don't get adequately paid for the jobs they actually do. Every single VP there earns 150K+ to be a mouthpiece for the SU brand while the employees who actually work are treated like crap. The President is no better. They all pander to minority and LGBT groups because they have no backbone. Disgusting what higher education has become and SU is no better.

  9. They should research the attempted coverup of the fact it was a black guy that did all of the graffiti! Remember what the states attorney Dykes said yesterday. This guy was the sole suspect all along! They knew about him many months ago! He has never been arrested for any of this! Why do you think that was? Easy cut and dried case. They were so hoping to keep this a secret, hoping it would go away over time. I told you all this the other day before Dykes said anything. It does not fit their bullsh*t narrative. They are not unique to this, all universities would act similarly.
Oh, by the way. The racist graffiti at the old Blackwell Library a couple years was done by black students! Did you hear the university admit that? Of course you didn’t.
