Maryland announces single-day high of 1,784 new coronavirus cases

Maryland officials announced 1,784 new cases — a single-day high for the state — and 60 more deaths from the coronavirus Tuesday, as the state blew past 40,000 confirmed infections while reaching the cusp of 2,000 confirmed fatalities.

Officially, the state is reporting 41,546 cases and 1,963 victims of COVID-19. Maryland officials say there are another 118 deaths they believe have been caused by the virus, with those infections not confirmed by laboratory tests. Meanwhile, hospitalizations, the metric which Gov. Larry Hogan’s office is tracking most closely as it considers the next steps in the state’s reopening process, continued to decline.

  1. Keep in mind the test is for Coronavirus not COVID-19. If you have a common cold, you have a Coronavirus.

    They are very deceptive

  2. Adolph Hogan will not blame it on him allowing all these MD non-permanent residence to come to MD when Hitler Hogan has MD residents locked down. Adolph Hogan is now going to tighten up his controls of his Third Reich to punish MD residents. Open up OC and the beaches more for these virus spreaders Hitler.

  3. Fake, they can't even process 1k tests in a day

  4. I have heard that in some areas where most people live in apartments (New York) the infection rate is higher. Could that be because living in a 800-1200 sqft apartment is like being in jail? People go out anyway (to meet the guy upstairs for instance) and then the rate explodes.

As for the economy we could end the disaster by opening business.

  6. And yet nowhere on the Maryland government website can you find current statistics for regular influenza. Last stat is for 2019.
So one wonders if some of these cases are NOT corona but regular flu.
Not good but definitely not enough to keep ourselves isolated.

  7. Don't believe any statistics Hogan puts out

  8. It is a no brainer that the more positive test results will coincide with the increased number of tests. The exciting and wonderful report is that in all of Maryland (est. population 6 million) the number of hospitalized has decreased to 1,421 patients. That represents .00024 percent of the population. This number is dropping. Using common sense and data such as this, anyone with a half of a brain would realize it is time to begin to get back to normal like other states are doing.
And I always thought Gov. Hogan was a bold and courageous leader. Boy have I been wrong on that one.

  9. Gov. Hogan is a Murderer! He is not following the Presidents guidelines for reopening, instead he went for the money! These deaths are on Hogan!

  11. I had a fever of 102 on Friday afternoon. Called to get tested. They couldn't get me in until Monday. Said it didn't matter because labs wouldn't open back up until Monday. Any swabs taken Friday afternoon, Saturday, Sunday or Monday wouldn't be tested until Monday afternoon anyway. So it stands to reason Tuesday would have the highest positives test results because they are getting results for all of those days.

  12. 24 Counties in Maryland. 6 are Democratic Counties, 18 are Republican Counties.
41,546 Cases of Coronavirus in Maryland. (75%) / 31,451 Cases are in those 6 Democratic Counties.
Only 10,095 in the remaining 18 Republican Counties. Coincidence? Or inflated Democratic numbers?
Look up other States. You will find the same circumstances.

  13. I am wondering if EVERY test administered is counted. I know several people some in the hospital who've been tested 2 and 3 times and are still positive. So if they retesting to see if someone no longer is positive but they are is that counted?

  15. BOTTOM LINE. NUMBERS ARE SKEWED AND NOT TO BE TRUSTED...I FOR ONE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS CRAP...THE MASK IS A SIGN OF SUBMISSION TO THE STATE...DO YOU GET IT YET??? IF NOT, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM!!!

  16. the number of cases means nothing when you consider that %80 of the people who get it have mild to no symptoms, and %95 of the people who died from it had pre-existing conditions, so it`s basically not much different than the common flu.

We don’t worry about grammar, but instead use it properly to communicate. Many of us are educated and did not attend common core mind control.

      Thank you

  17. 12:07 - Going to be a huge increase in cases here in the next few weeks and months. Then everyone will come up with even more screwy theories on why that happened. And no one will then admit that they were wrong about this. Especially the local politicians.

  19. Do all these test have the same date taken. Doubt it. Labs released tests results from their backup of test orders. Hogan wake up.

  20. OC open for a holiday weekend except restaurants, bars AND pools. What could possibly go wrong.

Traffic lockdown begins in two day. Good job early Rickie. Good job.
