Montgomery Co. schools developing an LGBTQ history class

Maryland’s largest school system is developing a unique class for high school students that will focus on LGBTQ history, officials revealed during a School Board committee meeting this week.

It would be the first such class in Montgomery County Public Schools, and would be rolled out as a pilot course in 2021.

“It’s a history focus but it also has current issues that are really relevant to the LGBTQ community,” said Siobhan Alexander, a curriculum implementation director with the school system.

Alexander said the curriculum for the course is being “co-created” by teachers and students.

  9. I didn't see in the article if it will be a required course or an elective one. I'm not sure that many kids would actually sign up for it so maybe if it's not well attended they would scrap it.

  10. You have to learn how to troll appropriately. Teach your kids to ask how does humanity prevent extinction if we all turn gay? If something can't be done by everyone to the benefit of society then it is harmful to condone.

  13. Northwest Woodsman: Perverts have been poking themselves in places where they do not belong for at least centuries, but in the past they were not proud of it and didn’t try to force normal human beings into accepting their perversions. It has been only during the decades of liberal nonsense that they have pushed their agenda as they try to normalize their behavior. Some going as far as adopting children to add legitimacy to this farce. God how I miss the sanity of the 50s.
