Nathan's Hot Dogs No Longer Served At Salisbury Sam's Club

Coming from NYC, having a Nathan's hot dog at Sam's club was somewhat of a treat for me over the years. Living in Ocean City, I'd get into the Salisbury area only once a week, (if that) and usually stop off for one of these incredible hot dogs. However, last week I ordered one and after the first bite I immediately knew something was wrong. When I went to the counter and asked, is this a Nathan's hot dog? She replied, we don't serve Nathan's any more.

That being said, the hot dog they're now serving is crap. If you were wondering why the hot dogs you recently bought from there tasted like crap, now you know.

  2. That is downright blasphemy! A sacrilege I tell you!! Now I have next to no reason to visit Sam's Club. Dang it!!!

  3. They made their own brand. Awful! They sell them too in packs now. They definitely have a very different taste. It was our go-to after shopping at Sams.... not anymore!

  4. About time, I got the worst food poisoning from one months ago. Was sick within a hour of eating it. The cafe is awful!!!

  5. Well that explains it. I knew the past few times it was just okay, not tasty. Their pizza isn't what it used to be either. We have been known to go to Sams just to get the hot dog/drink combo would wind up shopping while we were there. No more.

  9. Cannot beat NATHAN hotdogs. I also went to SAMS CLUB when I just wanted a hotdog and not shop. Looks like I will not be at SAMS CLUB now unless I need something. They are just like WALMART they have a good thing then quit caring it.

NATHAN hotdogs are made in PA and they say the only place that care their product is GIANT FOODS in the Baltimore area. What a shame the Eastern Shore is given the shaft of a simple delicious food product.

  10. The people who work behind the snack counter are as slow as molasses going up a hill in January! I was at Sam's this past weekend and the line for food/drinks was so long and only one person working (barely) Plus the area where you sit and eat needs a little "overhaul" and some cleanup done.

  13. I haven't stepped foot in a Sam's club in over five years after getting horrible service and standing in line for over a hour on a hot day in July of 2014.
They had only one register open and I had frozen food in my cart.
I filed a complaint with corporate and never renewed my card and I never went back there again.
Like Walmart, the shopping experience is painful and unpleasant. Not worth the little bit of savings and the associates there don't give a damn!

  15. Sad news. After years of hearing Joe rave about the Nathan's hot dogs at Sam's, I was going to get one next trip.

    Dang.

  16. Email your complaints directly to Sam's Club. Demand they bring them back. You pay to shop there, so you have a right to voice your demands.

  17. Salisbury needs a good hot dog place. Each time we get one it is gone way too fast. Federal law should require one in every town over 5000 people. Nothing beats a decent dog place. I always stop when I see a push cart selling them....too bad......

Did you support the one that used to be down by ponzetti's in that tiny building across the street?

  21. I think the new dogs are better than what they had before. But to tell the truth, I'm not a hot dog kind of guy. Burgers and pizza are more my preferred lunch foods.

  22. Northwest Woodsman: Hey, 12:02 and 12:53, I’m just curious. Were the clerks behind the counter slow, inefficient white kids? Up here where I live, they are almost always white teenagers that are happy to have the job and are courteous, friendly and proficient in their duties. Truth can sometimes be inconvenient, however my statement is completely true with no racist intent.

  28. Costco used to feature Hebrew National hot dogs as their house wiener and they were fantastic! Last time I got there I discovered they had changed to the Kirkland brand, got halfway through it and pitched the rest in the trash. Terrible!

  29. I say we hold a protest in their parking lot. Show em who's top dog.

  30. From what I understand, Nathan's refused to renew the contract at the price point Sam's required to keep the dogs costs low so... Who's really at fault here?

  31. Go to BJs in Delaware - it is worth the trip. Costco caters to Industry (small restaurants), BJs caters to everyday individual customers. Packaging is made for small families. Merchantise changes all the time - you never know what they offer store wide - very good quality. Service is friendly. Not sure about hot dogs for lunch but everything else is worth the trip . Note: not affiliated with BJs. 😁

  33. At least they sell the big Nathans in Sam's Club. Bought some a few days ago. Mmmmm. Plus, nobody, but nobody puts ketchup on a hotdog.

  34. No food court at B J's.
