It’s Democracy — Not Trump — That’s on Trial on Capitol Hill

“Public impeachment hearings have begun in Washington, but nothing has changed. The Ukraine ‘rebound’ scandal simply follows from the Russia collusion probe as the latest front in a smoothly operating, taxpayer-funded, propaganda war of political intimidation: an attempt not only to undermine President Trump, but also to demoralize and break the will of those who voted for him,” Augustus Howard writes in the New York Post.

“Democrats, trying to ‘move on’ from the disastrous testimony of Robert Mueller, offer us a new cadre of government-insider witnesses, most of whose evidence would be laughed out of any courtroom in America.”

House Democrats’ real goal is to tell President Trump’s supporters that “those who dared challenge the permanent, elite government class — to know they can never win.”

“Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff isn’t a constitutional scholar, but he plays one on Impeachment TV. His latest gambit is an attempt to redefine ‘bribery’ in the Constitution to include President Trump’s behavior toward Ukraine.” Of course, “he’s wrong about the law and constitutional history,” The Wall Street Journal editorial board writes.
The Trump Administration took two huge steps toward improving American healthcare on Friday. “Just about every person in the U.S. has had an experience of confusion, frustration, anger, and sometimes severe financial distress due to the bureaucracy and sheer obscurity of healthcare pricing . . . With these two rules, the Trump administration is trying to provide the price signals and other information necessary for patients to be informed,” Quin Hillyer reports in the Washington Examiner.
“Ivanka Trump and USAID Administrator Mark Green will announce on Monday an additional $50 million for the W-GDP Incentive Fund, which aims to help 50 million women in developing countries by 2025,” Evie Fordham reports for Fox Business.

White House Official Sues Politico: ‘Conspired with Schiff’ to Leak False Info to ‘Further Impeachment Inquisition’

House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) “acted in concert” with Politico to leak allegedly false information from the impeachment inquiry as part of a “scheme” to advance the “inquisition” against President Donald Trump, according to an explosive defamation lawsuit filed by a senior Trump White House official on Monday.

White House official Kash Patel, who is a senior counterterrorism official on the National Security Council (NSC), filed the lawsuit in Virginia court in which he says Schiff “weaponized the media” to advance his impeachment agenda.

Patel is a former staffer to the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), who later moved to the White House in the NSC to advise the president on national security and intelligence matters.

Patel on Monday filed the defamation suit in Virginia state court against Politico, Natasha Bertrand, a reporter for the establishment media outlet, and Robert Allbritton, the publisher and executive chairman of the media organization, all identified as defendants.

Australian Lawmakers Reject China’s Demand to ‘Repent’ for Criticism of Communist Party

Two members of Australia’s conservative coalition government have rejected Beijing’s demand they “repent” for their criticism of the Chinese Communist Party.

They said Saturday they will never back down from “standing up for Australian sovereignty, our values, our interests, and standing up for people who can’t stand up for themselves.”

Outspoken Liberal politicians Andrew Hastie and James Paterson were due to take part in a study tour to China next month, but when the tour operator called the Chinese embassy to arrange their visas, it was told the pair was “unwelcome at this time”.

Both politicians have been constant critics of China’s authoritarian state, particularly its human rights record and alleged interference in Australia’s political system, as Breitbart News reported.

Michelle Malkin Fired From Conservative Group

Conservative commentator Michelle Malkin was fired by the Young America’s Foundation (YAF), according to a new report, after she supported a Holocaust-denying, far-right activist who has been trying to revive the alt-right as an influential part of the conservative movement.

In recent months, white nationalist, anti-Semitic internet personality Nick Fuentes has drawn attention for leading a group of supporters to disrupt YAF, Turning Point USA, and other conservative events on college campuses. Most recently, Donald Trump Jr. and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk were heckled off stage at an event where the president’s son was promoting his new book.

The Hill describes Fuentes’ group, known as “Groypers,” as a loose collection of people who believe people like Kirk are insufficiently right-wing, so the Groypers barge into their events in order to push bigoted sociopolitical positions. While a plethora of mainstream conservatives have condemned them, The Daily Beast reports that Malkin has lauded Fuentes as “one of the New Right leaders,” bashed his critics, and parroted his talking points.

Malkin has years of history with the YAF speakers bureau, but that came to an end this week. The group sent a statement to the Beast saying, “Michelle Malkin in no longer part of YAF’s campus lecture program.” They also released this tweet which seems to be directed at Fuentes’ crowd.

"There is no room in mainstream conservatism or at YAF for holocaust deniers, white nationalists, street brawlers, or racists."

Ratcliffe on IG report: Doesn't take 500 pages to say everything was done right

Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, said on Sunday that he believes the upcoming Inspector General report on the counterintelligence investigation into Russia and the Trump campaign is going to be damning evidence of wrongdoing by FBI and Justice Department officials and could lead to a full-fledged criminal investigation.

“It doesn’t take 500 pages to tell the inspector general that everything was done properly,” Ratcliffe said during an interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” “The IG report is going to find that there were problems.”

For more than a year and a half, Inspector General Michael Horowitz has been investigating alleged misconduct related to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, warrants delivered by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC). The Justice Department and FBI obtained warrants in 2016 to surveil Trump adviser Carter Page. It is unclear, at this point, if Page was the only Trump official that the DOJ obtained a FISA warrant against.

Colin Kaepernick does not appear to move needle into his direction after controversy-laden workout

Colin Kaepernick has not thrown a pass in the NFL since the 2016 season and, nearly three years after appearing against the Seattle Seahawks in the final week of the season, his standing in the league and teams’ interest in the quarterback doesn’t appear to have changed even despite his workout Saturday.

Kaepernick, who started a firestorm in the NFL when he decided to kneel during the national anthem to draw awareness to perceived racial and social injustices in the U.S., threw passes for about 40 minutes at an Atlanta high school. While an NFL executive told ESPN his arm talent was “elite” and that he “threw the ball well,” Kaepernick left the field without a team and still out of the NFL.

Kaepernick’s showcase may have been marred by the controversy surrounding the workout in the hours and minutes leading up to it.

Free Tickets to Kanye West Service at Joel Osteen’s Church Scalped for Hundreds of Dollars

Online entrepreneurs are scalping free tickets to rapper Kanye West’s Nov. 17 “Sunday Service” at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church for hundreds of dollars as faithful and fans struggle to find a space in the sold-out 17,000-seat church.

The widely touted concert promoting West’s new gospel-rap album Jesus Is King has been expected to draw “huge crowds,” the Christian Post reported, an estimation corroborated by the frantic last-minute rush to get tickets even at exorbitant prices.

As a typical example, one online ticket seller identified as @takingpayment is offering four tickets to the West & Osteen Sunday Service for $300 each or $1000 for all four.

AI systems to detect 'hate speech' could have 'disproportionate negative impact' on African Americans: Study

A new Cornell University study reveals that some artificial intelligence systems created by universities to identify “prejudice” and “hate speech” online might be racially biased themselves and that their implementation could backfire, leading to the over-policing of minority voices online.

A new study out of Cornell reveals that the machine learning practices behind AI, which are designed to flag offensive online content, may actually "discriminate against the groups who are often the targets of the abuse we are trying to detect," according to the study abstract.

The study involved researchers training a system to flag tweets containing “hate speech,” in much the same way that other universities are developing systems for eventual online use, by using several databases of tweets, some of which had been flagged by human evaluators for offensive content.

Sessions Calls on Pelosi to Bring Impeachment Inquiry to a ‘Conclusion’

In a Monday interview with “Fox & Friends,” former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions called on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to bring the impeachment inquiry to a “conclusion.”

Sessions, a candidate for his old U.S. Senate seat in Alabama, said the impeachment probe is “not well-founded,” adding Pelosi is “wrong” to threaten President Donald Trump if he criticizes the Ukraine whistleblower’s identity remaining a secret.

“I think [Pelosi] needs to bring this thing to a conclusion,” Sessions stated. “It’s not well-founded to begin with, but just to pick fights with the president and try to make those kind of threats I think is wrong at this time for sure.”

The former attorney general went on to say it is “unthinkable” that the whistleblower’s name remains a secret if that person is indeed a witness.

College Students Say Ditching Their Smartphones For A Week Changed Their Lives

Nearly two dozen Adelphi University students made it a full week without their cell phones!

It was part of a college course intended to break the powerful addiction of smartphones.

It’s old school in Jacob Dannenberg’s dorm room – with an alarm clock to wake him. Handwritten notes remind him and an actual wristwatch helps to keep track of time.

No it wasn’t 1999, it was an Adelphi University course called “Life Unplugged.” where students did the unthinkable one week ago – handed over their smartphones.

“I’m freaking out, I could probably cry right now,” one student said.

It was a bold experiment to recognize today’s compulsive relationships with ever present devices.

Seven days later, “who’s excited they’re getting their phones back today?” Professor Donna Freitas asked.

Gone were the nerves and the shakes.

“Everything is perfect right now. I’m having a lot better relationships… it’s a stress free environment-- no pressure about social media,” Jacob Dannenberg said.

Sessions: GOP Can Dominate for Two Generations with America First Immigration Vision

Former U.S. Attorney General and former Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL), who is again running for his old seat in the U.S. Senate in Alabama, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview last week that Republicans can dominate electorally for generations if they stick to what President Donald Trump campaigned on in 2016 when it comes to immigration and trade.

“I’m going to push the Republican Senate conference hard,” Sessions said when it comes to immigration, should he win back his old seat in Alabama. “And I’m going to push the House Conference. The American people want a lawful system of immigration. They want to protect the national interest of the United States. They’re not globalists. They want us to protect American manufacturing interests against global trade competition. China is the worst offender. We have this monumental trade deficit with China. So, also, the world is always wanting the United States to join some organization in which other people get to vote on what should happen around the world, and then we’re expected to support what they vote for. This is why the Brits want to Brexit, and to get out of the E.U. because the E.U. has taken over their sovereignty.”

“We need to protect our sovereignty.” Sessions continued.

Are Democrats "Gerrymandering The Population" With Their Open-Borders Plans?

In an impassioned interview with Fox Business' Trish Regan, 'Die Hard' actor Robert Davi accused Democrats of "gerrymandering the population" with policies that encourage and protect illegal immigrants.
“Every single thing that they do,” Davi began.

“The Democrats and the cabal of the GOP globalists, they’ve let down the American people for gerrymandering the population.”

As The Daily Caller's Virginia Kruta notes, Davi also referenced the Immigration and Naturalization Act, passed by former President Lyndon B. Johnson and “argued by Teddy Kennedy,” saying that they had promised the law would not encourage further illegal immigration.
“This is what’s happening, it’s pure and simple,” Davi continued.

“What they want to do is change the shape and the ideology of this nation by letting people in that have not been educated in the system. Trish, I was just in New York, I spoke to immigrant cab drivers from Bangladesh to the Dominican Republic, guys that are working their butts off that have been here legally, and they’re angry.”

Iran’s top leader warns ‘thugs’ as protests reach 100 cities

Iran’s supreme leader on Sunday cautiously backed the government’s decision to raise gasoline prices by 50% after days of widespread protests, calling those who attacked public property during demonstrations “thugs” and signaling that a potential crackdown loomed.

The government shut down internet access across the nation of 80 million people to staunch demonstrations that took place in a reported 100 cities and towns. That made it increasingly difficult to gauge whether unrest continued. Images published by state and semi-official media showed the scale of the damage in images of burned gas stations and banks, torched vehicles and roadways littered with debris.

It remains to be seen how many people were arrested, injured or killed. Videos from the protests have shown people gravely wounded.

'Kill It': That Was Bloomberg's Alleged Response When an Employee Told Him She Was Pregnant

Former New York City Mayor and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg allegedly told a female employee to "kill it" when she revealed she was pregnant. The allegation was made in a 1997 lawsuit filed in New York by Sekiko Sakai Garrison, one of Bloomberg's former executives, National Review reported.

Bloomberg was reportedly upset that another pregnant woman would be added to his payroll. "Great! Number 16," he said, an apparent reference to the number of pregnancies among his staff at Bloomberg LP.

In addition to these two accusations surrounding her pregnancy, the lawsuit also said Bloomberg pointed another woman out to Garrison and said, "If you looked like that, I would do you in a second."

Dr. Berry: Why primary care costs a trillion dollars more than it should

As a Direct Primary Care physician in Greeneville, Tennessee, who has not accepted health insurance for over 18 years, I have been in a unique position to see how insurance for non-emergency outpatient medical care not only increases our country’s debt but also how it stifles our overall economy leading to reduced tax revenues from which to resolve this debt.

Americans carry insurance for unexpected catastrophes such as car accidents, burned houses, and inpatient hospital care. We don’t purchase it for routine car or home maintenance, so why do we have it for everyday medical care? The reason is, unlike other insurance, it is a pre-tax expense enjoyed primarily by large and medium-sized corporations that exert a large amount of political influence.

Most people don’t know that this tax exemption for employer-provided health insurance adds about $350 billion to our national debt each year while discriminating against the self-employed and employees of small businesses, many of whom can’t afford health insurance yet were cruelly forced to pay ObamaCare penalties. The increasing number of families choosing membership in Christian health care sharing ministries don’t benefit from this tax exemption. As a matter of justice both to future generations who will be responsible for this debt and to the many uninsured, Congress should eliminate this tax favor. While they are at it, Congress should remove the tangle of insurance regulations so companies will have to compete by offering consumers the opportunity to buy policies that make sense.

When Americans pay directly for outpatient medical care at facilities that make their pricing transparent, they pay much less than they would at facilities that don’t.

Doing so -- I estimate -- would return to the economy as much as $1 trillion a year, mainly because insurance for routine health care makes it easier to conceal and inflate prices while charging for services that patients wouldn’t necessarily allow to be done if they knew ahead of time that they would have to pay for them with their own money.

Open Society Kept Alleged ‘Whistleblower’ Updated on Soros’s Personal Ukraine Activities

Eric Ciaramella, whom Real Clear Investigations suggests is the likely so-called whistleblower, received emails about Ukraine policy from a top director at George Soros’s Open Society Foundations.

The emails informed Ciaramella and a handful of other Obama administration foreign policy officials about Soros’s whereabouts, the contents of Soros’s private meetings about Ukraine and a future meeting the billionaire activist was holding with the prime minister of Ukraine.

A primary recipient of the Open Society emails along with Ciaramella was then-Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs Victoria Nuland, who played a central role in the anti-Trump dossier affair. Nuland, with whom Ciaramella worked closely, received updates on Ukraine issues from dossier author Christopher Steele in addition to her direct role in facilitating the dossier within the Obama administration.

The emails spotlight Soros’s access to national security officials under the Obama administration on the matter of Ukraine.

Dem Rep. Says He Will Vote NO on Impeachment, Reveals Other Dem Lawmakers “Quietly, Privately” Concerned About Schiff Show Trials

Democrat Rep. Jeff Van Drew (NJ) appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Sunday and told host Maria Bartiromo that he would be voting “NO” on impeachment unless there is proof that Trump committed a high crime.

Congressman Van Drew voted against the impeachment resolution that denies President Trump due process and gives Adam Schiff sweeping powers to control witnesses and evidence.

Van Drew said that impeachment is a very serious thing and Schiff is disenfranchising millions upon millions of Americans who voted for Trump.

“Our Founding Fathers had vigorous debates of whether they would even allow impeachment in the Constitution — you don’t disenfranchise voters — millions upon millions of voters,” Van Drew said. “Voters choose their leaders in America.”
