‘Thanks For Nothing!’: Times Square Billboard Blasts Ocasio-Cortez Over Amazon Deal

“Thanks for nothing, AOC!”

A giant digital billboard in Times Square is calling out freshman Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her supposed role in sinking the city’s deal with Amazon. The billboard, paid for by business advocacy group the Job Creators Network, details just a few of the things New York may have lost when the deal went sideways.

That list included:
25,000 lost NYC jobs
$4 billion lost wages
$12 billion in lost economic activity

Forbes addressed the ways the failed deal could ultimately hurt New Yorkers in an articlepublished late last week.

    1. The problem is the people who voted for her probably don't work or aren't supposed to be voting in the first place. Those that didnt vote for her are the ones that are affected by her stupid decision

    1. Is there something in the water (supplied by Russia🙄) that is causing this stupidity. Amazon is big and New Yorkers needed them. Why cut off your nose to spite your face. That's why everyone is trying to get out of New York and move to Florida. It's only going to get worse. Time to treat Cortez as a child because that is what she is. How many times do you think she has ordered a product from Amazon. Now that's something that should come out.

  6. Genuine grounds for reservations about Amazon.

Their facility was to actually be in an adjoining congressional district.

But her total lack of clues to how the deal was structured played a big part in her mouthing off to undermine it. And in her celebration when Amazon backed out. She thought city and state were writing Bezos a check and wanted that 'money' spent on her wishlist. Instead the payroll, and multiplier effect won't happen. And the city and state still don't have cash for her pet projects.

  7. 8:29 - Wow! You are a big bowl of dumb! You don’t get economics, do ya?

  8. @8:29 y'all, REALLY?? You would applaud losing such an economic windfall. Anyone with such a shallow vocabulary wouldn't understand. everyone hates a winner. The guy starred a company out of his garage selling books and now look what it's become. I bet if it were a middle aged black you would be all for Amazon. Sorry that the majority of working class whites have a drive to succeed and not expect others to give them what others earned

  10. We could use Amazon here in Wicomico County!!! They could employ half the population.

Just my 2¢, I could be wrong.
