"The Situation Is Critical": Austria Conducts Border Defense Drills For Expected Wave Of 80,000 Migrants

Just a few weeks after the opening of a new "Balkan route" of travel through Albania, Montegegro, Bosnia and Croatia, Austrian forces will conduct border-security exercises on June 25 in the border town of Spielfeld in preparation for a wave of 80,000 migrantsexpected to travel through the route to Western and Central Europe, reports Kronen Zeitung, Austria's most widely-circulated newspaper.

Taking part in the exercise will be between 600 and 1,000 members of the riot police, "Puma" border squad and Federal Army will participate in the exercise.

"The situation is critical," says General Fritz Lang, director of Austria's Federal Criminal Police Office, who says that 30 illegal border crossings are attempted every day.

According to Lang, the migrants are primarily young male loners, "many of whom are considered "terrorist fighters," which require strong border protection.

Father's Days: Paid Paternity Leave By Country

What do China, India, South Sudan and the United States have in common?

They are among the 92 countries where there is no national policy that allow dads to take paid time off work to care for their newborns.

According to a data analysis released on Thursday by UNICEF, the U.N. children's agency, almost two-thirds of the world's children under age 1 — nearly 90 million — live in countries where dads are not entitled by law to take paid paternity leave. In these countries, this policy is typically decided by employers.

The data, mapped in an interactive chart produced by World Policy Analysis Center at UCLA's Fielding School of Public Health, allows users to scroll over a country to see its policy on paid paternity leave: no paid leave, less than three weeks (for most countries, that means one week or less), three to 13 weeks or 14 weeks or more. Users can also compare this data with paid maternity leave around the world. According to the center, 185 countries guarantee paid leave for mothers, with at least 14 weeks of leave in 106 countries.

More fast food workers diagnosed with hepatitis A

One of the workers who contracted the highly contagious disease worked at a Taco Bell in Hurricane and the other worked at a Pizza Hut in Charleston, the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department said in a news releases, the Associated Press reported.

Customers who dined at the establishments between May 19 and June 12 are recommended to monitor for symptoms of the virus.

ICE arrests 162 in Los Angeles-area operation targeting criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and immigration fugitives

LOS ANGELES – A Mexican national convicted of rape and a citizen of El Salvador convicted of Voluntary Manslaughter are among the 162 aliens taken into custody earlier this week during a three-day enforcement operation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeting at-large criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and immigration fugitives, and aliens released back in to the community after detainers filed by ICE with local law enforcement officials were ignored.

This operation targeted public safety threats, such as convicted criminal aliens and gang members, and individuals who have violated the immigration laws of the United States – including those who re-entered the country after being deported and immigration fugitives ordered deported by federal immigration judges.

Of those arrested in Los Angeles and surrounding areas from Sunday through Tuesday, almost 90 percent had criminal convictions. In 53 of the cases, ICE had filed detainers with local law enforcement officials notifying them of the agency’s intent to assume custody of these aliens once they were no longer subject to local detention.

“At-large criminal alien arrests are among the most dangerous types of enforcement actions ICE officers are engaged in daily basis,” said David Marin, Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Los Angeles. “Thanks to their remarkable efforts, there are 143 fewer criminals on the streets. We will continue to dedicate more resources to conduct at-large arrests to ensure the safety of the law-abiding citizens of our Southland communities.”

Among those arrested during the operation are:

'A Cloud’: 4 Takeaways of Watchdog Report on FBI’s Clinton Email Probe

A review of the FBI probe of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal found no evidence that political bias affected the probe, but that many actions “cast a cloud” over the outcome that spared her from prosecution.

The long-awaited, 568-page report by the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General notes political commentary in text messages by five FBI officials. But, it says, “our review did not find evidence to connect the political views expressed in these messages to the specific investigative decisions that we reviewed.”

While President Barack Obama’s first secretary of state from 2009 through 2012, Clinton conducted official business using a private, unsecured email account and server, rather than the required government communications system.

The investigation of Clinton’s email practices overseen by then-FBI Director James Comey concluded that she had been “extremely careless” in handling classified information, but determined that she didn’t do so intentionally.

Harvard Hospital Taking Down Portraits of White Men

Portraits of medical legends moved because they 'reinforce white men are in charge'

Brigham and Women's Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, is taking down its prominent display of its past medical legends because too many are white men.

Diversity and inclusion initiatives prompted the removal of 30 portraits from the hospital's Bornstein Amphitheater because the paintings reinforce "that white men are in charge," one professor said. The Boston Globe first reported the news, writing that past white male luminaries will be dispersed to "put the focus on diversity."

Portraits that had hung in the amphitheater for decades will now be moved to less visible areas like conference rooms and lobby halls.

Dr. Betsy Nabel, the president of Brigham and Women's Hospital, said she made the decision to get rid of white men after reading the minds of minority students looking at the portraits.

The Stupidest NY Daily News Column of All Time (Until the Next One)

If you aren't familiar with New York Daily News columnist Linda Stasi … well first of all, I envy you. Honestly, you might want to stop reading here and revel in your blissful ignorance.

For those still with us, Stasi is sort of the left-wing Ann Coulter, if Ann Coulter had no fans to speak of. She has the same "mean girl," would-be-shock-jock shtick where every week she's paid to write spiteful, hateful things about people she doesn't like.

To give one example, Stasi's take in the wake of the San Bernardino terrorist attack was to attackone of the murder victims and declare him as bad as the terrorists. The innocent man's crime? He posted conservative things on Facebook, and was "an anti-government, anti-Islam, pro-NRA, rabidly anti-Planned Parenthood kinda guy."

"Now 13 innocent people are dead in unspeakable carnage," she wrote of an attack that left 14 people dead. The implication is that the man, who left behind a widow, was not an innocent and presumably deserved death.

Like I said, a charming woman.

DOJ Releases IG Report On Clinton Email Probe: Faults Comey, Notes FBI Agent "Hostility" Against Trump

After various leaks, first to Bloomberg then to Fox News and other outlets, finally the DOJ released to the public the 500-page DOJ Inspector General report of the Clinton email probe, which while hammering James Comey for being "insubordinate" and showing poor judgment during the 2016 election, it found no evidence to show his key decisions in the Clinton email investigation were improperly influenced by political bias; paradoxically, the same report also raised swirling questions about the role of FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, whose texts with FBI lawyer Lisa Page the IG found suggested he "might be willing" to take official action to impact Trump's electoral prospects, or as one might put it, "clear bias" against Trump.

It wasn't just Strzok: the OIG found that other senior bureau officials showed a “willingness to take official action” to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president. One could almost call it, gasp, a "conspiracy."

The Justice Department inspector general on Thursday castigated former FBI Director James B. Comey for his actions during the Hillary Clinton email investigation and found that other senior bureau officials showed a “willingness to take official action” to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president. -WaPo

In yet another example of the OIG report's damning findings vs its milquetoast conclusion, we find that: "[W]e did not have confidence that Strzok’s decision to prioritize the Russia investigation over following up on the Midyear-related investigative lead discovered on the Weiner laptop was free from bias."

It's Trump's night as his candidates sweep GOP primaries

Donald Trump erased all doubts about who owns the Republican Party on Tuesday night as several Trump-backed candidates swept to victory in GOP primaries.

Primaries were held in Maine, South Carolina, Virginia, Nevada, and North Dakota. Po-Trump candidates win crucial races. The most notable among Trump's victories occurred in South Carolina, where former governor and current GOP incumbent Congressman Mark Sanford, a bitter critic of the president, went down to defeat.

CBS:

In the most dramatic result in primaries across five states Tuesday, Sanford was the second incumbent House Republican to lose a primary this year – and the latest victim of intense divisions among the GOP in the Trump era.

Though he has a generally conservative voting record, his criticism of Mr. Trump as unworthy and culturally intolerant made him a target of the president's most dedicated supporters, who often elevate loyalty over policy.

Supreme Court Strikes Down Law Banning MAGA Hats, Gadsden Flags At Polling Places

In one of two opinions issued on Thursday, the Supreme Court struck down a Minnesota law that restricted the wearing of "political apparel" - like MAGA hats - at polling stations. In a 7-2 ruling, the court said the law violates First Amendment protections on free speech. In addition to Minnesota, at least nine other states - Delaware, Kansas, Montana, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Vermont - have similar laws. In its opinion, the court said that MAGA hats and "#MeToo" pins should be allowed to be visible at polling places across the US. The case was brought by the Minnesota Voters Alliance, which initially challenged the state's ban.

The big question now is, will this 9-year-old student should be allowed to wear a MAGA hat in school - where he was asked to take it off by the principal when the hat reportedly became "disruptive" (other students found it offensive)?

Babylon Bee Founder: A ‘Small Group’ of Anti-Conservatives Control Tech

Adam Ford, the creator of Christian satire website the Babylon Bee, published an article warning against the power of Big Tech, explaining how a “small group” of anti-conservatives who control social media nearly destroyed his business.

“I believe the most pressing and grave danger is the centralized control of information by a handful of far-left tech moguls,” declared Ford in an article for the American Conservative. “My career as a Facebook-focused content creator — first my comics at Adam4d.com, which allowed me to quit my job, and then at The Babylon Bee, which I founded in March 2016 and sold a month ago —has led me to this conclusion.”

“The first hint I got that something troubling was afoot was in November 2015, the first time Facebook pulled something I made off of their platform. I’m just a Bible-believing Christian saying normal Christian things, and this comic I posted was no different,” he expressed, detailing how a Christian comic about homosexuality was quickly removed, and Ford was forced to read through Facebook’s community guidelines.

“What choice did I have? This was less than a year after I had quit my job of nine years, with three small children at home, to create content full-time. We were struggling to get by. The majority of my traffic came through Facebook. And they said ‘agree or goodbye,'” continued Ford, before explaining how Facebook nearly destroyed his business again when they threatened him for publishing “fake news” — a satirical article about how CNN has been putting news in a washing machine to “spin” it.

The report is expected to be heavily critical of former FBI Director James Comey, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and former Attorney General Loretta Lynch.

Hillary's Intent: What James Comey Missed

James Mr. Magoo Comey, Director of the Federal Bureau of Magoo, while acknowledging that Hillary had put the country’s secrets on her home server – i.e., without their protective coding – could find no “intent” in her doing so. It just happened. Let’s unpack that.

While these numbers are not out of line with the Clintons’ AGI in the surrounding years, the question still arises…What was this money being paid for? It can’t all be for speeches by Bill on diarrhea in Africa (as characterized by the inimitable Mark Steyn).

Let’s put it this way…
Rockefeller sold oil
Ford sold cars
Gates sold software
What is Hillary selling? Well, as Secretary of State, breaking all precedent, protocol and the lessons of signals intelligence of the 20th century, she arranged for the top-secret communications of our country to be available to outside listeners at her discretion. The Federal Bureau of Magoo doesn’t see anything peculiar about it. Could happen to anybody. James Mr. Magoo Comey isn’t concerned, doubtless because he has “a higher loyalty,” although God knows what it is to. Certainly not the Constitution. Certainly not the destiny of United States of America. Probably it has to do with being a Clinton toady.
So, what is Hillary selling? Us!

Would it make you feel better if you were a soldier if you knew that your mission or your route march had been decided in light of who been able to reach the Secretary of State with the appropriate fee?

Court-appointed monitor says children being treated well in border detention facility

Sen. Jeff Merkley upended the immigration debate earlier this month after he visited a border detention facility in Texas and described maltreated children stowed in dog kennels, subjected to “trauma” by the federal government.

But a court-appointed compliance monitor visited the same facility weeks earlier and gave a much different portrayal, describing children snacking on apples, drinking milk and bottled water, and sitting around watching movies on television.

Far from trauma, the children said they got showers, brushed their teeth, got a change of clothes and were able to get some sleep on bed mats. They had a chance to call relatives, to speak with consular officials from their home countries, and to take needed medications.

Forget racial preferences — here's a better way to increase diversity in college admissions

Since the 1970s, colleges have used race-based affirmative action programs to increase admission of black and Hispanic students. Opponents of these controversial programs contend that they unconstitutionally discriminate. The Supreme Court has decided four casesconcerning these programs. Eight states have banned them.

There’s a better way to cultivate a diverse student body: Simply adopt admissions policies like the Texas Top Ten Percent Law.

In 1996, a court decision required the University of Texas to end its race-based affirmative action program. In 1997, Texas enacted the Top Ten Percent Law. This Texas law entitled all Texas students whose grades ranked in the top ten percent of their graduating classes to admission to UT. In 1998, UT began admitting students under the Top Ten Percent Law and under aholistic, race-neutral process that gave preference to students from low-income families, from single-parent households, and from homes in which a language other than English was customarily spoken, without considering race.

Mental illness epidemic caused by social media

Britain's NHS is “picking up the pieces” of an epidemic of mental illness among children, fueled by social media, the head of the service has warned.

Simon Stevens urged companies like Google and Facebook to take more responsibility for the pressures they place on children.

It follows calls for social media and online gaming firms to have a statutory “duty of care” to protect children from mental ill health, abuse and addictive behaviour.

Speaking at the NHS Confederation conference in Manchester, Mr Stevens said Britain’s children were hit by a “double epidemic” of mental illness and obesity.

But he said the health service could not tackle its ills alone – turning on social media giants to do more to protect children.

"We have to ask some pretty searching questions around the role of technology companies, social media and the impact that is having on childhood,” he said.

Establishment Tries to Stampede Trump into Amnesty Deal

The GOP establishment and White House congressional outreach aide Marc Short are trying to stampede President Donald Trump into an amnesty deal for millions of illegal aliens which discards at least two of the four pillars in the president’s “America First” immigration agenda.

Short — who formerly ran the failed “Never Trump” effort inside the globalist Koch brothers’ network of organizations — and House Speaker Paul Ryan are hoping to repeat the stampede strategy used during the recent omnibus spending bill.

The omnibus barred the construction of Trump’s wall, expanded “Catch and Release” for illegal aliens, and did not fund 1,000 new deportation agents as requested and was released, passed by Congress, and rushed to Trump’s desk within a few days.

Like the omnibus spending bill, which was not released until the last second, the exact details of Ryan’s amnesty deal are unknown...

China Adds Advanced Missiles to South China Sea Islands

China's military has stepped up militarizing disputed islands in the South China Sea by deploying advanced missile systems on the Spratly islands, according to the Pentagon.

Defense officials disclosed to the Washington Free Beacon that the militarization has raised alarm bells about China's creeping takeover of the strategic waterway used for some $5 trillion annually in international trade.

The officials previewed Defense Department concerns detailed in the forthcoming China military power report. The annual report to Congress is expected to be made public in the near future.

"China is continuing its gradual deployment of military equipment to its Spratly Islands outposts in the disputed South China Sea," said one senior official.

The missiles have been identified as YJ-12B anti-ship cruise missiles that give the Chinese military the ability to hit ships within 340 miles—enough to target U.S. warships that frequently transit the waters in conducting freedom of navigation operations.

Homeland Security will strip citizenship from naturalized Americans who lied on their applications

The Trump administration is creating an office within the Homeland Security Department to strip immigrants of their naturalized citizenship or green card status if they are discovered to have lied on formal applications about their immigration status.

Netflix blasted over copycat suicides

Netflix usually draws cheers when it announces a new season for one of its shows — but not this time for its series on teenagers about suicide.

Critics fear a third season of “13 Reasons Why” may spark copycat violence amid reports that suicide rates have increased across the country.

Last year, a 23-year-old Peruvian man killed himself, leaving behind a series of audiotapes similar to those recorded by Hannah (played by Katherine Langford), whose suicide is the catalyst for the Netflix series.

What’s more, two California teens committed suicide after the broadcast of the show’s first season in March 2017. Their parents noted that they were watching “13 Reasons Why” days before their fateful decisions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported last week that suicide rates rose in nearly every state from 1999 to 2016, with at least a 30 percent increase in about half of the states.

In the 19 days after the debut of “13 Reasons Why,” Google searches for “suicide” jumped nearly 20 percent, according to a JAMA Internal Medicine study. Those numbers reflect 900,000 to 1.5 million more searches than typical for the subject matter. Popular search phrases included “how to kill yourself.”

Pelosi: "I Just Don't Even Know Why There Isn't An Uprising In This Country"

Having attempted to play down multi-decade lows in unemployment and record highs in consumer confidence, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has taken her "anything Trump does must be awful" show back on the road..

This time she is saying that she doesn’t understand why Americans aren’t starting an “uprising” against their government.

The irony is not lost on many that perhaps she has forgotten what happened in November 2016?

Nevertheless, as The Daily Caller reports, Pelosi railed against the DHS policy of separating children from their parents when they cross the border illegally (which was an Obama policy that is now being enforced by Trump) before asserting, “I just don’t even know why there aren’t uprisings all over the country and maybe there will be when people realize that this is a policy they defend.”

Leaked Amnesty Draft: Mass Legal Immigration

A leaked draft of House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) amnesty deal confirms Breitbart News’s previous reports detailing how the legislation would not reduce legal immigration levels to the United States, as President Trump and likely voters have demanded.

In a draft of Ryan’s amnesty deal, obtained by Breitbart News, for potentially millions of illegal aliens who qualify for the President Obama-created Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, current levels of legal immigration at which the U.S. admits more than one million immigrants a year would continue.

The leaked draft only ends two categories of the process known as “chain migration,” where newly naturalized citizens can bring an unlimited number of foreign relatives to the U.S. Chain migration is partially responsible for importing more than 10.5 million foreign nationals to the country in the last decade.

NumbersUSA Governmental Affairs Director Rosemary Jenks told Breitbart News that Ryan’s amnesty deal gives immediate benefits to illegal aliens while American workers not only see no net reduction to legal immigration but an increased number in foreign workers being imported by business.

Courts deal blow to EPA over Clean Air Act

Two separate courts ruled this week that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must enforce regulations that restrict states from emitting pollution that could cross borders into neighboring states.

U.S. district courts in Maryland and New York both ruled separately that EPA was derelict in its duty by not enforcing states to comply with the "Good Neighbor provision" under the Clean Air Act meant to address smog pollution.

The New York court found that EPA failed to meet an August 2017 deadline that would begin the process of enforcing the law throughout states. The court's judge ruled that EPA must take necessary steps to limit the smog that blows into New York and Connecticut from five surrounding states: Illinois, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan and Virginia.

The court set a Dec. 8 deadline for compliance.

Kathy Griffin Drops Racial Rant, Says Black Man Who Didn’t Attack Trump Is a ‘P******’

Kathy Griffin launched a racially tinged attack on fellow stand-up comic Kevin Hart in a new interview, calling him a "pussy" for not mentioning President Donald Trump in his routines despite being black.

Griffin spoke with USA Today ahead of her "Laugh Your Head Off" comedy tour beginning Thursday in San Francisco. The title of the special is an unsubtle reference to the infamous photo of her last year holding a severed, bloody head resembling Trump. That story has kept the self-proclaimed "D-list" celebrity in the news ever since.

She said she relishes being a "whistle-blower" as a comedian and then took a shot at Hart, who is not known for injecting politics into his routines.

"I do feel like this is such an anxiety-ridden time for everyone that there is a thirst for all kinds of comedy," Griffin said. "And look, if you want to not hear about Trump at all, go see Kevin Hart. He doesn't even mention Trump. I personally think that's a pussy move because he's a black man. But I guess he's selling more tickets than I ever will."

Despite record high confidence, Main Street businesses can't find the workers they need

Mike Fredrich shows off unmanned presses in his Manitowoc, Wisconsin, company. They're ready to start production at MCM Composites, a 55-person enterprise that makes custom thermoset molding.

The only problem? Fredrich has no one to operate them.

"These tools are heated to 300 degrees," he said. "But we're not running them. Had we had the people for the first shift, we could have been running this all day. But we don't, so they sit here heated, ready to go, with no action."

"There are no workers, but there's a huge demand. The economy has picked up, but the market is so thin, that we just can't find them. We've gone to extraordinary means to find people that will actually work, including going to the local county jail and recruiting people to work from inside the jail," Fredrich said.

"Finding the right person for the job is always a challenge, but obviously in a tighter market like this, it becomes far more difficult," said Raymond Keating, chief economist at the nonpartisan Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council. "It's a function of a few things — the labor participation rate is fairly low for an economic recovery expansion period. So there's room for people to come back into the labor force. And, as long as economic growth continues, which we want to happen, we are going to have to deal with some tight labor markets."

"Unbiased" FBI Agent Strzok Texted "We'll Stop" Trump From Becoming President: OIG Report

A previously unreleased text message exchange between disgraced FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who were removed from special counsel Robert Mueller's probe for bias, reveals perhaps the most direct evidence of both their feelings for Donald Trump and their intent to make sure he didn't make it to the White House.

Note that the leaked conclusion from the IG report reads "We did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that improper considerations, including political bias, directly affected the specific investigative actions we reviewed," thanks to policies designed "protect the institutions from allegations of abuse, political interference, and biased enforcement of the law."

Now read the exchange between Strzok and Page:

IG: Peter Strzok & Lisa Page exchanged anti-Trump texts, BUT “we did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that improper considerations, including political bias, directly affected the specific investigative actions we reviewed"
“Several FBI employees Who played critical roles in the investigation sent political messages,” IG report says.

It cites Lisa Page text to Peter Strzok: “(Trump’s) not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”

Strzok: “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it.”
