Mountain Of Bikes Sits In Recycling Yard After Ofo Pulls Out Of Dallas

Publishers Notes: Will Salisbury be doing the same?

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A mountain of bicycles is sitting in a Dallas recycling yard after the bike sharing business Ofo pulled up stakes in the city.

Pictures of the bicycles at CMC Recycling have been buzzing. Out of the thousands of bikes the company pulled off Dallas streets, hundreds ended up at the recycling center in south Dallas.

  1. I heard that the city would be abandoning this bike thing and possibly going to scooters instead... But the point here folks is that someone had their back scratched or they wouldn't have implemented this BS here in the city knowing fully and damn well it has fail in other cities and even countries... This is another way to hook someone up, and to waste your tax money, and guess what soon you will get a tax increase to pay for all of this crap!!!! But you all love being slaves to taxes and other people so,I don't expect any of you to do anything to affect any real change... I just expect you all lazy bags, sit there and complain about it... Just be a good slave and stfu if you won't put effort into effecting change, you have no right to complain...

  3. Yes Salisbury will be doing the same. It will turn out to be another moronic idea by this mayor, staff and council whose combined IQ is somewhere in the imbecile range.

Let's make sure to keep an eye out because they will try and hide it so they won't hear the TOLD YOU SO's from the realists who comment on this site.

  4. 8:16 Day is extremely dumb he falls for any and all BS any snakeoil salesman is selling. He is a textbook example of someone who doesn't get off the shore and has no idea what goes on in the real world. He is not only unsophisticated he's the classic example of the dumb down US populace. Go to the Pac site and listen to him. To say he is goofy and uneducated is an understatement.

  6. I can't wait till The Festival the laughing at him will be all over Salisbury and all up and down the Atlantic Coast, he and Hogan will be disgraced once again by the crazy ideas. Yes in point the orange bikes, the blue reflectors down the city streets to mark fire hydrants, weeks ago they were requesting golf carts be donated to the city for the festival, no word on that, now so its mopeds and scooters. Removing the fence along Riverwalk so their will be multiple drownings so the not used expensive Fire Boat can finally be used. The failed list keeps on growing.

  7. 8:51 the bikes may not have been "bought" outright but you can bet they have already cost taxpayers much more then they are worth. Day and staff are the carnival barkers dream-as dopey and as ignorant as the day is long to fall for this. If they had any working brain cells they would be embarrassed at their stupidly.

  8. Poor leadership decisions are breaking the backs of working families. Just look at the wind turbine in Crisfield - $4.2 million but Crisfield only paid 10% of it. So it was an easy sell for Crisfield because the developer was promising 2.5 times more than it would produce. Facts are, Crisfield will not even receive enough benefit to cover it's 10% cost, and thus taxpayers pay 90%+ of the $4.2 million. And Crisfield can still not afford to pay its electric bill on a $10million WWTP that was also a gift from the Government.

  9. 8:16 AM they can not legally do scooters because the state has mandated they must be registered and insured and if Jake the Snake allows it the taxpayers will be on the hook and any and all lawsuit arising out of accidents.

  10. If anyone had a brain they would pull off the monitors and give the bikes away. It was for the benefit of the citizens or thats what we were told. So give the bikes to the citizens. Make them sign a waiver and give the bike to someone who needs it.

AND did anyone see ALL THE BIKES they gave away last night in the park? Who paid for those? If they can use taxpayer money to BUY bikes and give them away then give the orange bikes away.

Jake just buying votes on the taxpayer dime.

  11. if Salisbury didnt pay for the bikes then it must of be some kind of rental.
so out of that dollar how much is paid back to the people who own the bikes and who pays to round up all the strays, how much is used to pay the people renting them out doesnt seem much profit to any party

  13. Ok yes, the city of Salisbury and the Mayor made a bad move on the bike thing and yes they sold a piece of river front property not only for less than market value but less than the people were willing pay. Sure the Mayor screwed up with those stupid blue things in the middle of the road and yes someone got hurt and yes he had to send a crew out to move them out of the middle of the road and yes he has no clear idea about the construction downtown or when it will be completed. But...I say but when you do all that stupid stuff you then go and pull off an amazing event like the Folk Festival which will bring 300,000 people to our area...wait...what...it's 30,000 now...ok. An amazing event that will bring 30,000 people to our area...wait Homeland security says we should delay a year because we have no clear scope of the size of this even though we hired a directer specifically for this type of thing. Ok...maybe all of you are right on this guy being a first class idiot.

  15. The festival is only going to see 200 maybe 300 people a day milling around. I am saying it here and now. Mark my words. The only way they would ever be able to entice any great amount of people to Salisbury the Smelly Crotch of the Eastern Shore, would be if there would be a Trump rally there. Then the crowds would number in the 10's of 1000's on that day.

  16. And don't forget Mayor Ignoramus was part of selling the old firehouse for pennies on the dollar for another one of his incredibly ignorant ideas- a "music venue." Another one readers of this site told him would fail and FAIL it did.
