  3. This is ridiculous at this point. The bypass has essentially become unusable.

  5. The one this morning is on the Southbound side. The Northbound side was open, as I used it for my commute this morning and saw the tractor-trailer off the road on the Southbound side when I went by. It went off the road at the same spot that the other truck turned over yesterday. The bypass, as currently configured, is treacherous to trucks trying to navigate through there. The so called lanes are nothing more than the shoulder of the highway. Those truck wheels are just inches away from hitting mud on the side of the road. Given they are having to drive on the sloped shoulders (sloped for water drainage)that makes the load lean, and physics gives the truck a propensity to lean off the road. Six inches to the side, and BAM!, the truck is pulled off the road. The highway engineers, inadvertently designed the construction lanes to be dangerous for trucks to navigate. As a professional CDL licensed truck driver for most of my life, I know of what I am talking about. It's only a mater of time before it kills someone. The evidence is in, and the lawsuit will follow, when it happens. I feel really bad for all the truck drivers that have to run that gauntlet every day.

  8. Ridiculous Bike lanes being placed all over Salisbury are
going to bite the state in the ass too , because they are
Placed in UNSAFE Locations , and wrongly made were traffic
even has to cross over them > like Rt 50 in front of the
main Post office . Need to REMOVE THEM from UNSAFE places.

Many Places need STOP LIGHTS (YES STOPLIGHTS) in area too
Like Tilghman Rd Corner & Mt Hermon Rd were (the state)
to avoid this, puts in an ILLEGAL lane on the RT to pass
cars on the Rt side, which HAS caused many accidents.

Every effort has been made to NOT put up Stop Lights incl
frigg'in Roundabouts which, Costs much more $$$$ !!!

And many locations ie Rt 50 crossovers like Parsonsburg,
Pittsville , Willards very Dangerous < Need Stop Lights

  9. Common Sense ( which ,the Govt does Not have) is, that on
the Bypass , near Perdue stadium turnoff ,were cars & trucks
have been going Off the road \ PUT IN A GUARD RAIL !!!

Guardrails will not help, for all the reasons stated by January 30, 2018 at 8:35 AM. There will still be truck accidents and bypass closures.

  11. if this many trucks are wrecking, it's not the drivers... it's the road.

  16. Close the bypass and open it up when it is finished.

  17. Bypass work is not the problem, drivers need to slow the hell down in the CLEARLY MARKED work zones!!!!

  18. If I were a truck driver, I would go right through town on the business routes, traffic be damned!

Your do know the speed limit in the work zone, don't you? Its 55MPH, in case you actually don't know and haven't even been in the construction area. Speed has not been cited as a factor in any of the truck accidents on the bypass. I would like to see you try and drive a tractor trailer through there. Those guys are professionals, and they are wrecking left and right, or should I say, North and South?

Do you know how many crossovers they would have had to make to do one bridge at a time? Would have cost way to much. And it has only been the last 1-2 months that all these accidents have happened. I understand the trucks going off Northbound just before 50 as the road there narrows a lot but southbound is wider. Just need to slow down and pay attention.

  21. Well, they could drive SLOWER through the trouble spots, or even the entire stretch. It's not that long!
